==History==<br />
An island west-northwest of Biscay Bay off the Iberian Peninsula, Blackhawk Island was discovered and settled by the [[Blackhawks Squadron]] of expatriate freedom fighter pilots during the opening days of World War II. Led by Polish flying ace [[Blackhawk]], the squadron gathered the best aircraft and technology available and used it in their fight against the Axis Powers that had overtaken their homelands. The Blackhawks would later use the island to store and hide much of the advanced and dangerous technology they captured in their battles and adventures, to keep it out of the hands of a world not yet ready for the dangers it represented. The island was purposefully stricken from the charts and maps of the world by the Allies, and further agreements have similarly rendered the island invisible to modern day satellite surveillance and photography. Other means, thanks to that same advanced technology, keep the island well clear of other shipping traffic and planes, and unmolested. The island was violated by [[Key|The Key]], [[Lex Luthor]], and [[Dr. Polaris]], and has since been re-secured with help from the Justice League. Only select League members and the last surviving members of the Blackhawks Squadron know where to find the island, or how to reach it safely.<br />
