Title    = Ponies and War
|Summary = After literally running into Silver Sight, Pride discusses war and technology.
|Who = Pride The Arrogant, Silver Sight
|Date = January 28th, 2020.
|Where = Adachi Boulevard
|Log=

SilverSight is on the explore! He's travelling through the streets of the city to see what all can be found, occasionally checking his Pipbuck map feature to ensure that he doesn't miss anything. How it can automatically put the names of locations in the system just by being near them is still beyond him.

Running.

He'd been running all over this damned city, and avoiding their pesky truancy officers. You'd think there'd be some kind of law against harassing non-locals with pointless acts of confinement. Pride needed a *cover* before he could be bothered integrating himself into their school system. Leave it to these humans to nose their way into places they don't belong.

Sooner or later, someone might... disappear.

He'd hoped he could prevent any situations that might arise before his position was stable. This particular instance, the officer had been persistent. Something about young children being out alone. It didn't matter, to Pride. Though his thoughts held distracted him long enough to run head-first into the lab-coat clad horse creature.

"Wha--EXCUSE ME!" he calls out, immediately, and blinking as his gaze focused on the creature. "Sorry!"

SilverSight isn't all that big and everyone knows that ponies are made of soft fluffy candy, so it isn't entirely unexpected for him to be bowled over by a charging child! He rolls a few times and thumps into a wall, looking all swirly eyed for a moment. He shakes his head and looks up with a blink, "Ow. You should be more careful!"

"Sorry!" Pride repeats, bowing his head a few times. He'd seen someone do that once, so far. He assumed it was likely a cultural thing. Though once he was done he found himself looking over... yet another strange talking animal. He was beginning to think this was going to be commonplace. No matter.

A few more blinks later, and a gasp. "What are you??" he asks, now, curiously, as a little boy might sound.

"Are you a toy too? Like Alden?"

SilverSight stands up with a stretch and a pop of the back. A light shimmy and he seems back to normal. His glasses magically adjust on his nose and he looks at the boy, "Oh? Thats a first. Most people know what I am by now. I'm a unicorn pony." He points up at the horn on his forehead, "A magical creature from the land of Equestria... sort of. Long story with that."

"A unicorn pony?" questions Pride now, with another blink-blink. "Like the horses princesses are supposed to ride?" He'd read a book once, about that, but never expected such a thing to exist outside the realm of alchemical experiments. What use would a horse have with a horn? He himself pushes up to his feet, and brushes off his clothes. Which were very clearly in disarray with a healthy amount of dirt, leaves, and a little mud. He probably looks like he's been avoiding a bath, or something, based on just how young he is.

"I've never met a talking horse before..." he adds.

SilverSight snorts at that one, "I'm not a horse, but a pony. Big difference. And our Princesses are also ponies themselves. We can all talk, except those who are rendered unable to." He looks over the boy briefly, "You're clearly a young human yourself. Should you be wandering the streets alone?"

"That's a silly sounding place." the little boy giggles, but he tilts his head in consideration. It certainly sounded like a ridiculous place, if talking animals frequented. "Is it digital too? Aldren said his home was digital. But I still don't know what that means..." Pride admits, scratching the side of his head and plucking a leaf out of his hair in the process which gets a look, before being flicked aside. "And I'm looking for my Father. I only came here a few days ago...I'm hoping he's here, too."

SilverSight rubs a hoof under his chin, "Hmm. You won't get argument from me. Equestria is most certainly a silly place to be in at the best of times. But it's certainly not a digital location. I haven't met this Alden as of yet though." A small shrug is given, "The most common place most people meet up at would likely be The Usual. It's pretty popular and serves everything."

"The Usual?" Pride wonders, knitting his brows. What kind name was that? "Where's that at?" Though after a moment, he makes note of the labcoat again. "...are you an Alchemist, Mr. Pony?" he asks now, tilting his head. He doubted it. Animals didn't speak, let alone perform alchemy. "You got a long coat like my favorite Alchemist, Edward Elric! Only his is red. It's SO cool!" He says with a sudden burst of excitement. "Have you ever met him? I met him once!"

SilverSight checks the device on his left foreleg, "The Usual is east of here." He looks at his labcoat a moment before shaking his head, "I'm afraid I've never heard of this Edward, nor am I an alchemist. I'm a scientist, of a sort, specializing in various forms of technology. Mostly that which comes from my world, but I have the only examples of it here. Probably for the best."

"Alchemists *are* scientists!" the little boy says with matter-of-facto, while giggling. "They're the BEST! I wanna be one when I grow up, so I can help Father!" Though he seems to nod a little at that explanation. "Do you have computers there? Alden says they can hold whole libraries! But that's silly, too." A pause. "...do they really?" Pride asks, in a stage whisper.

SilverSight has his doubts about alchemists being considered science... but he'll let it go to not crush the poor boy's feelings, "The regular Equestria hasn't developed much in the way of computer technology, but mine did. And they can certainly hold a lot more information than a single library."

"Really?!?!" the little boy gasps, eyes getting big and wide. "That's so cool!!!" Pride says, "We didn't have anything like that back...home..." He trails off a little as his voice takes on a bit of a somber tone. "I didn't even hear about them until Alden tried to explain it..." He giggles. "He didn't do a good job of it. It's even MORE confusing! But he tried..."

SilverSight sits back and holds up his forelegs so that the device on his leg can be seen, "Well you can take a look at this. It's sort of a mini-computer, but still holds a whole lot of information." The device is securely attached, so no removing it, but he'll happily show the boy the screen, showing in particular the 'notes' section which shows a whole bunch of different digital logs he's acquired, as well as his own personal journal he's been keeping. Much of the information won't make much sense either, but the point is that there are a LOT of words to read.

The technology was all kinds of fascinating. The way it lit up, like a strange miniature lantern with a window. The amount of data however, within the small, square shaped(?) device seemed impossible. "Woooooah..." Pride's eyes seem to almost grow even bigger, and brighter as he stares at the bright thing. "Coooool! And it has a whole library?! Can I touch it?" he asks, in a very little kid kind of fashion, hand outstretched already. "We didn't have *anything* like this..."

SilverSight's Pipbuck is indeed a mostly square shaped device, with a screen that's mostly green text on a black background. A few buttons and dials are usable, "Sure, you can poke around at it if you like. Just don't try to take it off. It requires special tools to remove it without hurting it or me."

The little boy does just that, he immediately takes the foreleg into one hand and begins to slowly go through the device with his free hand. From an outside perspective it might appear completely benign. A young child simply skipping past all the words to get to the pictures. If there were any. Though the look in his eyes seem far more attentive then he'd originally played off. "Wow!" he says, after a moment of flipping through things. "Do you think I could get one? This'd be really cool to show my father!" Pride says, a big smile playing across his face. "He'd think it was really cool too."

"Oh..." A flash of disappointment crosses Pride's face, as he sighs a little. He takes a step back. "It's still really cool though! Do you think I can find another computer?" He asks now. A momentary glance at the pony's device was enough to understand the concept. Fascinating as it was, it did little to serve Pride's purposes at the moment. He'd *need* to find another one. He needed to know all he could about this world. How can you rule over the humans, if you know nothing of the kind you'd find here? "How'd you find yours?" he wonders now.

SilverSight hmms, "I'm sure there's a store around here that would sell computers, though likely nothing like my Pipbuck here. As for where I got it, I grew up in a place called a Stable. Not a typical horse stable, mind you, but this was a massive facility built inside a mountain designed to protect a population from a war. The ponies who grew up in the Stable were provided these to help with our daily lives. Outside the Stable, they're very rare to see except on others who venture from them. Or such ponies have been killed and their Pipbucks taken. It happens."

"Ohh... is there a lot of war in your world?" Pride wonders, absently brushing some dirt from his vest. "There's been a lot of war in mine... But my father does everything he can to keep the people safe! There was a big war a long time ago... between Amestris and Ishval! Amestris won, because my father lead us to victory with the State Alchemists!" He rattles off very suddenly, eager to discuss the exploits of his father. It was an amusing thing, these stories of Wrath, but it all fit together in the mold that made Selim so innocent. Inside, Pride chuckling. "He protects everyone! Maybe he can help your home too!" the little boy says, though it was highly unlikely.

"Radiation?" echoed the small boy, tilting his head. "That's bad right?" The concept of this type of energy had been studied, but not afforded to any known practices that Pride was aware of. Such were the troubles of non-alchemical based sciences. The automail engineers, and car mechanics. The very *human* sciences. "And you're from there?" he says after another beat. "Wow... that sounds terrible. Amestris isn't like that at all. It's the greatest country in the whole world!"

SilverSight nodnods, "Radiation is very bad. It makes a person sick and can kill quickly. I honestly don't mind having left that world behind to live.. here now. It's much safer."

"Amestris is safe too. Soldiers are always patrolling around, and making sure everyone's safe!" Pride says, smiling. Then... it fades. "...I miss it. A lot." He says, now hugging himself a little. "I--I just hope I can find my Father here. Maybe he came with me." he adds, though the tone in his voice gives way to the idea he's not entirely convinced of this anymore. Pride had to admit to himself, that the probability was less then none. He was likely alone in this world, if Alden's words were to be believed. "Oh! I never told you my name, Mr. Pony! I'm Selim! It's very nice to meet you."

SilverSight is pretty alone as well. He's the only pony around that he's aware of. At least the kid has other humans to bond with, "It's good to meet you as well, Selim. My name is Silver Sight. I do hope that you find your father soon." He ponders for a moment, "I believe I heard about a welcome center for new arrivals to the city, though unfortunately I don't know it's exact whereabouts. But they could help you there."

"Welcome center?" asks of Selim, furrowing his brows as he places a thoughtful hand on his chin. "What do they do there? Besides say 'welcome!'" he asks shouting the last word and throwing his arms up in a dramatic bright show of welcoming. Then drops his hands, giggling. "Do you think they know where my father is??"

SilverSight does smile to the dramatics, but he shakes his head, "I'm afraid I don't know all the details since I haven't been there myself. Though I should probably check it out myself. It's no fun leaving home behind." He thinks about it a moment, "Well I bet your father could possibly be there looking for you too. It'd certainly be a good place to start."

Selim nodnods, himself, now. "Then I should find it." he declares, nodding his head. "I'm the *best* at finding things." It was true, he found the Elrics. Gluttony helped, but only slightly. He would find this place, with ease. "When I find it, I'll come find you again, and tell you where it's at!" the boy tells the pony.

"Johnathon Bradford, or I call him Dad. Or Daddy." Pride lies, there was no gain in fully revealing Wrath to these creatures, or his position. Not yet, anyway. "He's a very important soldier in the Amestrian Military." He also wasn't aware of what sort of information can be found in a world with boxes that contain libraries. Better safe then dealing with insolence. "He saved his whole platoon from Ishval invaders! He was a hero!"

SilverSight nodnods with a smile, "Sounds like a pretty good father to me. I barely remember mine, to be honest. Life's really rough in the Wasteland outside the Stable and I definitely took a knock or two to the head. So a lot of my early memories are pretty fuzzy."

"Oh, I'm sorry." the little boy offers, with slow nod of understanding. This world sounded more and more undesirable as the creature went on about it. Not the sort of place Father would have interest in. No matter what sort of technology it may have. The inhabitants didn't sound...useful if a single war reduced them to this. Present company excluded. "Your world sounds just awful, Mr. Pony--Silver Sight. Nothing at all like mine." A little thoughtful scratch of his chin. "...I wonder how many other places are like that..." Pride innocently mentions, a furrowed expression on his face.

SilverSight hmms, "Well I know of at least one other that was pretty roughed up. I'm not sure the full extent of the damage, but I believe I recall hearing that it was later destroyed entirely."

"Oh..." Pride nods slowly, then places his fist in his hand. "Okay! So I'm gonna go find the welcome center!" He says to Silver Sight now, looking off towards the road. He'd been safe so far. So he was sure the officer had given up looking for him by now. He looked back at the pony creature, and smiled. Then waves. "I'll find you later, okay, Mr. Silver Foot--Sight?"

SilverSight reaches a hoof up to point at his head, lowering the glasses, "If it helps you remember, my eyes are silver. It's where I got the name. But I do wish you well in the future, Selim. Go find your dad."

"Thank you! Byyyee~" And the little boy runs off. Another leaf probably falling from his hair as. Pride's hunt for information continued.
|Desc= A small, fair-skinned boy of about six years old, maybe older, maybe younger. His small size makes it hard to distinguish just how old he might actually be, and his short cut hair only serves to embellish upon his youthful features. His hair is cut in a rather stylized, standard little boy's cut, something a mother might decide force upon a child against their will.

It's an oily black color reaching down his neck, that appears to suffer from a perpetual ruffle, or cow-lick with bangs that come just past his eyebrows and no further. His eyes are big, and wide, inquisitive and full of youth, they hold deep dark color that actually appears purple in some lights. His nose is small, button-like, indicating his youth with pair of thin lips beneath it.

His thin neck tapers into his small, scrappy shoulders, with small limbs that still got a ways to grow yet. His build otherwise, is fairly lean, healthy, and as active as a boy of his few years might be. Overall, he's a small, scrappy little boy, with a bright glow in his features.
|Extra2=Flaws:<br />

Philosopher's Stone: As much as strength as it is a weakness. The core of his being, should it ever be destroyed or weakened, so would he. It contains several thousand souls of innocent people he's either devoured, or granted by Father. As long as one soul still remains intact, so will Pride.

Container Body: His body is as real as it can be, but doesn't function like his brethren. It's weaker, being smaller, and more fragile. It also doesn't bleed. Should it ever be shattered, he would be rendered into an minuscule infantile form and be required to 'grow up' unless a suitable replacement is found.

Youthful Appearance: He looks young. Very young. This causes some people not to take him completely seriously.

Apathy: He is Pride incarnate. He sees all non-humonculus as inferior creatures, and functions on a level of apathy in regards to most of them.

Light and Dark: Complete darkness will render his powers inert, as shadows cannot exist in complete darkness. The same can be said about light, and too much bright light is known to even harm his shadows.

Carbon Fiber: He cannot cut through it with his shadows. They just bounce off.

|Background=Amestris. The Alchemical Capital of the world, or so the propaganda would have you believe. A country that exists in a universe in which humans have developed a sort of magical science called Alchemy. The world itself is early 20th Century, with semi-steampunk advancements, specifically in the area of prosthetic replacements and automobiles. Though the study of Alchemy overshadows the regular sciences.

Having been formed over 350 years ago, Amestris stands in the very center of conflict with several outlying countries such as Drachma, Creta, and Aerugo. Skirmish fights are common along the borders, but otherwise Amestris keeps to itself and for very good reason. Those 350 years ago a man with golden hair arrived from the Eastern Desert to teach the people Alchemy.

That man was later revealed to be Father, a humonculus created by a former Xerxes Slave, who eventually went on to be known as Van Hohenheim. Father consolidated the primitive peoples of early Amestris, and formed them into a government. Then he focused their sights on expansion, until the country itself was nice and round, eventually growing to consist of 5 major cities in each cardinal direction.

This is where Pride begins. Created in an experiment by Father to separate his sins from himself, Pride was the first humonculus. For a long time it was just the two of them, controlling the budding government of Amestris, Pride was put in charge if making sure the humans did what Father wanted them. He was given a container body, and tasked with acting as the adopted son of many former government officials, or high ranking military personnel. Where ever he was needed, he was put into place. Eventually there were more, next came Lust, then Greed. Eventually Envy, Sloth, Gluttony, and then finally Wrath.

Pride was in charge of them all. As time went on, his duties became more and more focused on preparing the country for the Promised Day. He slipped from the eyes of his siblings and began working covertly with Father, and Sloth in order to set the stage for the future and build the country-wide transmutation circle. He was eventually partnered with Wrath, to pose as the son of the Fuhrer, Selim Bradley, where for the next couple of years he'd be posted. At least, until the Elric Brothers began to snoop.

At first, they were barely a blip on Pride's radar, but they were sacrifices the moment they attempted human transmutation. However, it wasn't until Edward Elric received his certification as a State Alchemist did things begin to... get interesting. The youngest alchemist, who managed to get their certification? Unheard of since Roy Mustang, the Flame Alchemist. What drew the attention of the State was his ability to perform alchemy without a transmutation circle.

That day it became clear he would be a sacrifice. His brother followed soon after it became apparent of his... condition as a soul trapped inside a suit of armor. Their track record followed with disarray all across the country, disrupting on-going operations in mining towns, Leore, even Ishvallan slums, all in their quest to find a means to retrieving their lost bodies. They even ruined the Sewing Life Alchemist, Shou Tucker, who's research into Chimera creation lead him to transmute his daughter and dog just to save his career. Chimera were weak constructs, made through the joining of animal DNA through transmutation. Many experiments even lead to combining human and animal DNA to create a generation of soldiers during the Ishvallan War. Most of them are dead, while some had joined in Greed's little attempt at rebellion in Dublith. They too, died.

It was all in futile attempt, anyway. As they, like many others, will be destroyed when the Promised Day comes. And a new era of Humonculus Superiority will begin. Or that's what Pride thought, that Father would take upon the power of God and usher in a new era, but as time went on the persistent Elrics would not give up their goal. They kept digging, deeper, and deeper. Until Father had to get involved, after the death of Greed. Greed failed in his duty, and was reintegrated into Father as a result.

Greed would be reborn later, within the Xingese Prince Ling Yao, who proved himself yet another thorn in the Plan. Each passing moment lead to further disruptions, until Pride himself, had to step in. The plan was supposed to be simple. Kidnap the younger Elric, by manipulating his soul seal, and use him to lure Edward back to Central City. The tenacity of the older Elric was unexpected, causing a blackout as he did on an overcast night. Pride simply decided to bide his time, until that Lion/Human Chimera attacked. It was quite shocking to see how quickly the creature resorted to attacking the form of a small child.

The rest is blurry, as the next thing he knew he was waking up in Nowhereto Park to the sound of children on a nearby playground...

Personality:
Pride is the physical embodiment of Father's pride. He is by every definition of the word, arrogant, prideful, and considers himself the most superior creature in the room at all times. As an active member of the Humonculus, Pride's sole duty is the execution of Father's plan. Which means he is the second in command, after Father. He's ruthless, conniving, cunning, and mocking. He will seek out any, and all advantage he can find to better combat his enemies and keep himself alive. This leads him to be reckless, in that he considers all other forms of life as vastly inferior to him. Which causes him to underestimate his opponents at times, but his vast amount power with his shadows make him a formidable fighter despite this.

When not acting as Pride, but putting on the guise of his alter identity, Selim Bradley, Pride is a much different person. He's polite, and thoughtful, inquisitive, and excitable in the subject of his particular interests: Military Service, and Alchemy. He'll speak for many hours on just how cool Alchemists are, as well as show a deep familial loyalty to his Father and Mother. He's also incredibly friendly, and easy to get along with, always looking to make friends where ever he goes.
|Skills=Shadow Control: Pride is a living shadow. He exists as a shadow, contained within a physical body that appears to be a child. He can use his shadows to attack, spy, and defend himself. He's also capable of using them to force people to perform a task. They appear mostly as tendrils, but can expand and retract to cover wide surfaces. He can also communicate, and spy through them. They can cut through any substance besides carbon-based metals.

Philosopher's Stone: The core of his being. This blood red gemstone contains thousands of human souls, and renders him nearly indestructible, and effectively immortal. It is everything that allows him to exist and use his powers.

Amestrian Military Training: Being recognized as the son of the Fuhrer, and many other government officials in Amestris's past, Pride has mastered many Amestrian military tactics. Including the use of Morse Code, Tactical Information Gathering, and other military and political protocols. In the absence of the Fuhrer, and Father, he is effectively the leader of the Amestrian government.

Absorption: One of his less dignifying powers is the ability to devour others and gain their knowledge, and powers. For example: If he devours another humonculus of Father, he takes on some of their personality traits, but also their powers and weaknesses. Their souls become part of his Philosopher's Stone.

Second Identity: He is Pride, but he is also Selim Bradley, son of the Fuhrer King Bradley. A happy-go-lucky youngster who dreams of one day serving in the military like his Father. This is the face he puts on in public. He's also adept at hiding his malevolence from most types of sensor. This may not be so easy on the Twisted Road.

|Date = January 27, 2020.
|Where = Nowhereto Park
|Log=
How did this happen?

What *exactly* happened?

One moment that... chimera was attacking him, the next... He could hear children? With a soft groan, Pride pushed up from the ground as his gaze shot around the park. Then down at himself. He looked rough, but nothing he couldn't fix. Or replace. Within moments any wounds that disgusting creature managed to get on him were gone, but his clothes were still torn. "I'll have to tell *Her* I got into some sort of fight." he mumbled to himself, as he took in a much needed breath, regaining his composure. "But first... where exactly am I?" he asked out loud.

It looked nothing like Amestris. Let alone the forest he was just in.

Not to mention, it was much earlier in the day now. No longer dark as it was. There was also something else, something... missing. A foreboding? He could feel his philosopher's stone thrum within his body.

A disconnection.

Something was wrong.

Father, was no longer there.

"What... What is this??" he gaped out, grasping at his chest. There was no pain, or anything. No obvious reason for him to grab at his chest. He just did. Then pressed whatever it was back, deeper, and deeper.

Then it was gone.

Another breath.

"Then I will use my appearance as an advantage. Until I know what's going on..." He grabbed a hunk of dirt and wiped it on his face. Then did his best make himself cry, and curled up into a ball. Within moments he was crying even louder, a scared cry. One he was quite good at mimicking.

Certainly there must be people around willing and able to answer to such a distressed kid in a city park! Still, the first thing to approach the boy was not a human at all. The best way to describe the figure might be, an animated sculpture of... some kind of... creature?, entirely made of large, colour blocks, the colours didn't even follow a real pattern, it was kind of a weird mix, like something a kid might make.

The short critter eventually approaches the boy, somehow looking concerned, green eyes moving on the curled figure, "What's wrong?, are you hurt?" he asks in a friendly, slightly high-pitched voice, and offered one 'hand' to help Pride up.

"Ah! What're you!?" cried the boy, suddenly staring at the creature with big, tearful eyes. Though his gaze fell to the creature's hand, or paw, or whatever it was. What was this creature? Some sort of strange... multi-colored auto--No. No. Nothing like this existed in Amestris. But it reminded him of some sort of... bipedal chimera made of blocks? With a snotty, ugly sniffle, he reached for the creature's hand to be helped up. There was a little nod of his head. "These... these two bigger kids. They they came and shoved dirt in my face, and pushed me down." he lies, as he was quite adept at doing. Years of a covert existence did that. "Then---then they ran off! Laughing!" he goes on, snuffling again as he runs his sleeve across his face, smearing the dirt.

"...I just asked them where I was. I don't... I don't know how I got here. And. And. And I can't find my Father." Another little sob. Though he can't seem to help staring at the creature, despite this. Even when he's on his feet, there's a little glance at his own hand, as if whatever the creature was would wipe off on him. Another moment, and he realized something about the creature.

"You look like a toy." he blurts out, very little-kid like.

If the toy creature seems upset by the reaction, he tries not to show it, just blinking and remaining down, it is a bit confusing, trying to figure how he was bending forward and curling those 'fingers' as the kid finally accepts the hand, helping Pride back up. He blinks at the completely true story of what happened, and lets out a soft growl, "That's terrible, someone should teach them not to do that." he mumbles, his short tail flicking sharply, and for just a split second, there might have been a bit of an orange glow in that mouth.

The creature quickly recovers it's cool, "I am... kind of lost too, just appeared here one day without any idea why... seems sometimes people just gets... pulled here somehow." he mumbles, and seems to smile just a bit, "Ah, well, I guess that kind of makes sense, I'm Toyagumon, but you can call me Alden." he replies, "Maybe we can figure if your father is here."

"Alden?" replies the little boy, knitting his brows briefly at the name as he says it. "I'm Selim!" he says now, a little more brightly now that appeared he'd found a friend. A little tilt of his head is offered as he suddenly circles the toy creature. Examining him, maybe, or he's simply curious.

"You're lost too, Mr. Alden?" he asks, now, then adds, "...people just get pulled in?" This thought seemed unsettling. Even outside the act he was putting up. What could have such power? What purpose did it have to bring him to this place? He frowns a little, "Wh-what if he's not here?" is the next thing he says, as the waterworks threaten to come again.

"Am..Am I trapped here? Forever???"

Honestly, he just looks like plastic, yes, he is moving, he is even wagging what might be a tail, but just causes more questions about 'how' he is doing, tilting his head in return as he glances at the boy, he does wonder more about the story about the bullies, but his focus is clearly on the 'lost' part. There is a loud sigh and the plastic dinosaur seems to slump a bit, "Yeah... I mean... this place sort of reminds me of my... world but it clearly is not..." he says quietly, rubbing his chin, "I never even knew there were more worlds than the digital world and the human world, I thought I was making my way to my... version of the human world."

The last question makes the dino blink, "I... don't know."

That answer didn't please Pride. Multiple Worlds. He'd heard the theory, sure, in all of Father's experimentations. The Gate was a mystery, could it have brought him here? Had Father completed the plan ahead of schedule? Why wouldn't he have told anyone? He shook away the doubt, such things were ridiculous.

"Digital world?" was his response after a moment, "What's digital?" This was a valid question, he thought as he knitted his brows with a mask of confusion offered to the strange little creature. "I never heard of that before." Selim went on to say. Though the final answer seemed to do little to ease the small boy, who hugged himself tightly.

"...so...I could be all alone?"

The plastic dinosaur seems curious as well, "It's... hard to explain, it's just something about.. information from the humans, and some machines called computers where it is kept." he tries, he is not very good at describing the system. "It's just... something from my home world..." he mumbles, before shaking, "Well, maybe someone from your world might be here?"

"Computers?" echoes Selim, still not quite understanding. "What's a computer?" Another pause. "...another from my world. OH! What about the Tiny Alchemist?! Is he here? Do you know? He's the coolest ever!" the kid says now, suddenly getting perked up by this possibility. "I met him once in the library! He really *was* small!" the kid giggles for a moment, then... then it tapers off. "...I hope he's here."

The odd critter tries to think. "Do you know what a... calculator is?... electricity?... imagine a machine that does... math following instructions... and can be programmed to store information, and work with that information..." he begins. The mention of an alchemist catches his attention, "Alchemist?, what's that?" he asks, "He does sound cool!" he says, "I hope he is too... it's clear you like that guy... I wish more things from my own home where here, but at least it is kinda similar to home."

"I know what electricity is!" replies the little boy, with a giggle. "That's a silly question." Though it occurred to Pride that this might be a kind of technology that exists in this world he's speaking of. Fascinating, he thought, but then a big gasp follows.

"You don't know what an Alchemist is!? They're so *cool*!!! I wanna be one when I grow up, so I can help Father. They're scientists! And use a almost magic power called Alchemy!" He goes upon this subject being brought up. He goes into a very long, rambling tangent about how cool alchemists are, the kinds of 'cool magic' they can do, and how they're all heroes.

He goes on, and on. And on.

Eventually, "And that's why I wanna be one! Alchemists can do *anything*!" he finishes now, throwing his arms out dramatically with a brighter demeanor, now. The sads largely gone.

The plastic dinosaur tries to explain the uses of the computer, from storing whole books and libraries in small spaces, to writing on them, music, complicated math, is not sure how to explain videos or movies, but he does give some cursory attempts. He pauses as he hears the explanation of what alchemy is, and gasps, listening with attention to the description from Pride, eyes wide. "That's amazing!... I can only... fight and... break into pieces and... turn into stronger things that mostly just fight."

There's a number of expressions that pass over the boy's face as the computer thing is explained. It goes from curiosity, to excitement, to confused, to very much bewildered. Then settles on little boy skepticism. "Whole libraries?? Nuh-unh!" Selim proceeds to insist, outwardly. Inwardly, this level of technological advancement seemed far more alien then he'd initially realized. Could *humans* really create such marvels? Nonsense. He'd need to see for himself, perhaps harness this power directly. If it had as much knowledge as this creature was implying... there was many things he might be able to do.

"You can't fit a whole library in a *box*." he pointed out, with another giggle. "That's so silly." Another tilt of his head, "You can turn into other things? How come you only fight?"

The digimon pauses for a moment, "I mean... it's mostly what I was built for... I am not that good at many things, especially in this form." he says softly, "I mean I can certainly try to do other stuff, I am just good at fighting... well, I'd be better if I was a stronger digimon." he says. He is quite glad the bad mood was gone, at least for now. "Maybe we can find a computer to try later."

"I'm good at *everything*!" the little boy says with absolute Pride, in his voice. Though hardly that bold a statement from a kindergartner. "Maybe I can help!" He smiles big and wide, "And you can maybe help me find... my Father." he adds on a more somber note, hugging himself again. "He'd probably love to meet you..."

The dinosaur nods a few times, and does not seem to find fault on the logic from the kid, he met some very interesting kids before, "You would do that?" he asks, "I'd love to learn how to do things better." he says, wagging faster.

"Uh-huh!" replies Selim, bobbing his head a few times. "Father taught me lots of things!" he says, with an even bigger smile. "Maybe we can be friends!" he offers, stepping closer to the dinosaur with his arms stretched out in a dramatic fashion, then he drops them and rubs his arm a little sheepishly. "If you want." he adds, as his volume drops a few octaves now. It didn't matter what the creature answered next.

The 'dinosaur' seems excited at the offer, nodding a few times, wagging his tail a bit faster now, "Yeah, I'd really like that!" he says cheerfully, taking a step closer as well, not really sensing anything odd about this at all, he is just that friendly.

"Then," Selim says, offering his hand to the toygimon. "From this day forth! We're friends!" he says cheerfully, with a big boyish smile. It was simply perfect. He had an ally now, even if it was some sort of... strange chimera-like creature made of toy blocks. He'd need as many as he could find. It was the first thing to assist in making sense of this strange new world. Perhaps there might even be stronger sacrifices in this world.

"C'mon! Lets go play. I don't know what a computer is, but a playground is a playground always!" He says, pointing towards the northern playground.

There's a pleasant humming sound coming from someone approaching the park area. A teenage girl with flowing blonde hair and brilliant teal green eyes that carry an inner light with them is seen approaching the central park area. She's got powerful shoulders and has the callused hands of some sort of laborer, but otherwise her physique is comely and girlish. In her arms she's carrying a basket, and its filled with the smell of fresh-baked goods. Shes got a welcoming air and presence to her, seeming easily approachable. There's a bright smile on her face as she walks into the park, towards the fountain.

Alden holds the boy's hand and is happily led towards the playground, "Sounds good!" he says in a loud, cheery tone, thus,a boy in torn clothes and covered in dirt, is tugging a small 'dinosaur' seemingly made entirely out of plastic blocks, (a fact that doesn't seem to stop it from being very much animate), and heading from the fountain to the north!

Selim is totally trying to drag the animate dinosaur toy creature over towards the playground. His clothes, very much early 20th-century, look ripped and torn as if he'd been in some kind of scuffle with another kid, or more. His dark hair is mussed, and he looks about kindergarten age. His face and hands look awfully dirty too, but this doesn't seem erase the bright smile he has on his face.

The two would head over to the playground at breakneck speed. Though there's a moment's pause and the smell catches his nose. He turns and spots the girl approaching. He seems to watch her for a moment, then continues along with his animated toy dinosaur friend.

"Let's go!" he utters once again, as they begin to approach the playground. A number of the kids there spot them both, some seem to look on confused. Others don't pay mind. Some seem absolutely intrigued by the lego dino.

Though none dare to approach yet.

Alden seems a bit carried away for a bit longer, almost stumbling when the eager kid pauses, looking around and pausing, "Oh, I forgot that I need to do something!"he says, seeming a bit scared, "I need to do a bit of work on the other side of the town, but will be back here later!" he says happily, offering a nod, waving to the other kids, "I will bring something to eat too." he offers, looking a bit sad as he turns to the south, and starting to make his way there, but for now, tries to ignore the baked goods lady, no time!

"Oh, okay, bye!!" Selim waves to the dinosaur, as he departs. A sigh. That was better. Another step and he'd have had to engage in the social graces of interacting with... human children. A seethe. Though he notes the woman more fully now. He sees some of the other children approach, but waits for all of them to disperse before approaching. He holds an inquisitive expression as he considers the girl. Up this close, it was clear that his clothes were definitely torn up. The dirt was still pretty present on his face, but nothing uncommon for an active little boy such as he. "Hi!" he offered in greeting, though he made a mental note of how her appearance seemed to have startled the toy block creature. Though another note of her hair and eyes. "...are you Amestrian??"

Alissa Bailey handled the children with a warmth and kindness unfounded, each one left with a tasty treat. A cinnamon bun here, a donut there. She never stops smiling, even when a child gets fussy and she listens to them with an untold patience before patting them on the head and offering them a treat. Soon enough, the children were off doing there own thing and Selim had approached her. Her smile is bright as she said "Oh goodness, come here! You're a mess." she tilts her head a little. "Amestrian? Nope.." she said to Selim. "I'm Arcadian!" she adds after. "A priestess of Arcadia at that." she said with a cheery smile. "Come, let me fix up your clothes." she offers to Selim.

"Fix my clothes?" replied the kindergartner, with a hint of suspicion in his voice. An Alchemist? He briefly thought. "But you just said you *weren't* Amestrian. Only Amestrians can use Alchemy!" Selim points out, then crosses his arms as skeptically as a little boy can. "How can you fix my clothes without Alchemy?" he wonders, tilting his head. She certainly had that look, despite her claims.

"Do you use a computer? Alden was telling me about them. They're boxes that can hold *libraries*!" he adds, perhaps unnecessarily, but it was all part of the mask. "He said they can do lots of things!" It's at this point he casually climbs onto the bench to sit.

Alissa Bailey holds a hand out as a small light flares from her hand, engulfing the boy in a warm, soothing light, the clothes revert back to the state of when they were new. It certainly wasn't alchemy, even though it might seem like it. "Um, Alchemy? Potions fix clothes?" she asks the child with a confused expression. "No, I use my lord's light to mend clothing and even injuries." she explains to the boy. Her eyes go distant at the mention of a computer. "..I have no idea what a computer is, but it sounds neat."

Selim gasps when the light engulfs him. There's a notable shudder, but only slight. Then he looks down at his clothes, now pristine. "You did use Alchemy!" Selim insists, then pauses, "...the lord's light? Leto? The sun god? I heard my Father talk about him once, there were these people in a town who worshipped a funny man with a beard." He giggles, then adds quietly once the giggles are gone.

"...there was some bad stuff that happened there. Father started to tell me, but then Mother sent me to bed..." He sighs, kicking his feet a little as they dangle from the bench. "Are you one of *those* people?" He certainly didn't recognize this 'arcadia' nonsense, she was clearly hiding something. It was too convenient, no other humans could use such powers like that outside of Alchemists.

Alissa Bailey shakes her head. "Nope. No sun god. The one true god. The one and true lord." Alissa explains to Selim with a small smile. "I've never heard of a Leto, but my Lord Has no beard." she affirms. "I sort of wound up here on accident!"

"Me too. I'm... looking for my Father." replies Selim, bobbing his head. "So did Alden, too. My friend who ran away. I think you scared him." he points out with a little scratch of his head. "I don't know why... you're nice." A shrug, and he slides off the bench. "I should probably go, now. BYE! Thanks for fixing my clothes!" He says, then begins to walk off.

He kept note of her powers, her demeanor. If she wasn't a Leto Cultist or an Alchemist, then she was something... different. Powerful. Another pawn, perhaps. Or even a sacrifice?

He smiled to himself once out of eyesight of the girl.

And a black tendril begins snaking it's way around his body from beneath his feet. "This place has certainly proved interesting..." he muses to himself, as several more tendrils begin to expand out from beneath him, going every which way to scout along the park.

"...father will be pleased that I found it."
