Their voyage spans the years of 65,000,000 BC, 12,000 BC, 600 AD, 1000 AD, 1999 AD, and 2300 AD. The aftermath, carrying over into the game [[:Category:ChronoCross|Chrono Cross]] deals with the lost timelines and delves into multiple realities - a branching point that influenced the creation of Twisted.

Chrono Trigger was developed Squaresoft and released originally for the SNES in 1995. The game has since been ported to the Playstation, the Nintendo DS, and the Nintendo Wii. The artwork was done by character artist Akira Torriyama, famous for drawing the Dragonball series. This is evident as many of the original character designs seem to be heavily influenced by Dragonball and the Dragon Quest series. Blue Dragon, another game by the same development team, is considered to be the spiritual successor to the Chrono Trigger/Cross story.
