The Usual Restaurant

You walk into a well lighted room, it's high ceilings lit by dozens of fluorescent lamps hanging from the ceiling. To the south and west are windows, which you would normally expect to see the outside world from, but looking out of them, you see only a misty gray haze. On the walls to the north and the east of the inn are an eclectic collection of paintings, photographs and even holographs of many cheap 1970's to 1980's B-movies. The bar on the east side is made out of hardwood, it's surface polished and shiny. Behind the bar, the various beverages that are served here are kept in relatively neat containers on wooden shelves. There is a large stage in one of the corners of the restaurant with a impressive sound system and a few microphones strung about it. Multiple round wood tables are in this room, near the north wall, is a double swing door that leads to the kitchen. On the east wall is a door leading to the UR's dance club and on the west one leading to the Gym. To the south, is the exit to the outside. A recent addition to the UR is a large fireplace against the west wall, it matches well to the rest of the restaurant and looks like it should have been there all along.

Johnny pushes the door open with a bit too much effort. As it slams open, he doesn't seem the least bit phased by it. Walking in he glances about the room and frowns slightly at the lack of people. oO(Damn.... Oh well...) Smiling again, he makes his way up to the bar and takes a seat. Glancing around for a bartender he orders a cherry soda and calmly drinks it when it arrives....

Renamon is in the rafters, and quirks a brow as Johnny enters.

Johnny looks around the room again, he's a bit bothered by the general quiet of the room. Hopping out of his seat he goes over to the door to the gym and opens the door looking for people. With a sigh he walks away, letting the door close on it's own. With a shrug he goes back to his seat and drinks some more of his soda...

Renamon asks, "Looking for something?"

Johnny blinkblinks at the sound of a new voice. It takes him a moment before he realises it's not one of his own. Looking over his shoulder he's shocked to find that no one is here... "Odd..."

Renamon chuckles a bit. "Odd is a state of mind."

Johnny glances up in the darkness of the rafters searching for the owner of the voice, "Eh? Odd is a way of life. Where are you?"

Renamon says, "Right here."

Johnny squints as he tries to see the owner but his body is still underdeveloped from the events of his return. "Ok, call me blind, but I can't see you... My eyes aren't quite right yet."

Renamon chuckles. "I could call you blind, but I won't."

Johnny glares into space, "Alright, you don't have to be a smartass about it. If you don't wanna talk, why'd you speak up in the first place?"

Renamon says, "My ass has no intelligence of it's own, and it's hardly your problem if it does or not anyway."

Johnny steps out of his seat and slowly turns around the room expecting trouble, "Alright... That's not funny. Look, if you wanna talk, then why bother hiding? If you want to fight, your barking up the wrong tree. I'm not up for that sorta thing right now..."

Renamon says, "Who says I'm hiding? In truth, I like it up here."

Johnny shakes his head, "Whatever..." Walking over the bar he grabs his drink, and then he goes to the center of the room and takes a seat at the closest table. "So? What do you call yourself? I'm Johnny C, but people call me NNY..."

Renamon says, "Renamon."

Johnny nods his head, "Alright, Renamon... how long have you've been in town?"

Renamon says, "Twenty four hours, give or take."

Johnny takes a sip of his drink, "Ahhh.... you just been hanging out up there this whole time?"

Renamon says, "Mostly"

Johnny chuckles, leaning back in his seat he throws his feet up on the table and closes his eyes, "Sounds like fun. So, where you from, Renamon?"

Renamon asks, "Why does it matter?"

Johnny opens his eyes and stares up to the celing, "Just talking. You seemed to want to so I thought I'd try. I've been spending too much time being quiet lately..."

Renamon asks, "Oh?"

Johnny closes his eyes again. "Yeah... I've been quiet most of my life. Couldn't stand conversation. Then I got to spend a week or two dead without a body, now I'm talking to shadows. Pretty fucked up, huh?" With a sigh he continues, "Fuck.... I'm just rambling again, sorry..."

Renamon chuckles. "I am no shadow."

Johnny opens his eyes and laughs, "Well you ain't exactly sitting in front of me either..."

Renamon asks, "Would it make you feel better if I were?"

Johnny smirks, "Haven't I been trying to talk you into that this whole time? If I wanted to talk to the air, I'd just listen to the voices in my head..."

a moment or two later, Renamon phases into existence behind Johnny with a smirk. "Boo."

Johnny sits up and glances behind him in confusion. Spotting the creature standing there behind him he chuckles, "Smart ass... Come on, have a seat. Talking to the celing is making my neck cramp up...."

Renamon asks, "Do you have some kind of problem with my ass? I mean really, what's it ever done to you?"

Johnny laughs aloud like a loon, "Sorry... sorry. Just an expression! I'm sure your ass is quite normal and sane... Heh..."

Renamon smirks.

Johnny guestures again towards the seat accross from him, "So? Can I get you a drink or something?"

Renamon says, "Not really. I'm fine." And settles into said seat.

Johnny grins, "See? That wasn't so bad?" Pulling out one of his daggers he begins to clean his fingernails with the point. "Well.. to answer your question, I was hoping a friend of mine would be here. She wasn't home. I know a few other places she might be, but I think I've looked for her enough for now. Last thing I need is to get called a stalker or something again..."

Renamon flicks an ear curiously.

Johnny streatches his arm straight out and twirls the blade in his hand a moment before resheathing it. "For someone who seems to want to talk, you sure don't talk much..."

Renamon says, "When I have something worth saying, I say it."

Johnny nods, "Gotcha... nice point. So, you got any questions about this place?"

Renamon says, "Beyond several million which I can't decide among which to answer first? Not in particular"

Johnny chuckles as he puts his feet back down on the floor. Leaning on the table he smirks, "So... which side of the line do you tend to play on?"

Renamon asks, "Hmm?"

Johnny lifting up his hands he turns one palm up, "You for the good and holy protection of the innocent, " He continues as he upturns his other palm, "Or are you one of the wicked?"

Renamon says, "I don't know that 'holy' has anything to do with it. But I try to do what I can."

Johnny nods, "I figured as much, but that don't stop a guy from trying..." The seriousness of his words fade and he leans back in his seat, "So what did you do before you came here?"

Renamon says, "I fought."

Johnny sighs, "We all fight in our own ways. Whether that be for a just cause, or a mild case of disilusionment... we all fight. so where you in it for sport or...?"

Renamon says, "I had my reasons"

Johnny stands and streatches, "Well, my new friend... I gotta go find some kinda food and I'm a bit sick of eating here all the time. Mind if we continue this in a few minutes while I run out?"

Renamon says, "Suit yourself."

Johnny nods, "Alright, well... I'll be back..." With a slight wave, the maniac grins and walks out.
