West Beach

Overlooking some of the bluest water you've ever seen is the beautiful West Beach. During the daytime you can always see a few children running around here playing. At night the phosphorus in the water makes the entire beach glow with an unearthly green light. A long pier stretches out into the water on one end of the beach and an old shack sits on the opposite end.

Suddenly the world seems to shift and the feeling of gravity falls away. You fall for what must feel like an eternity... Then, your standing again, and the world is spinning around you... you wobble forwards, unable to see beyond a greyish mist that fogs your mind and your sight. Suddenly you feel your feet crunching in soft sand. You look down and find yourself standing on a long stretch of beach, the fog has lifted and you are alone... well, not entirely alone. Besides the waves crashing on the shore just behind you, before you leaning against a rusted old building sits a young girl in a blue dress staring blankly in your general direction...

An androgynous figure with huge grey wings stands on the beach. In fact, it seems to be standing on the sand without disrupting it in the least. It flaps it's wings once in an exploratory manner, then looks over to the girl.

Nancy blinks and pushes herself up. Slowly walking towards this new creature she stares open mouthed. After a moment she quietly mumbles, "Oh, no.... I'm sorry.... I wasn't supposed to do that anymore..."

Guukan stares at Nancy, it's eyes beginning to flare with a bit of white fire. "...Do what?" It stands there for a moment, then folds it wings behind it. "Why am I here? ...Who am I?" It shakes it's head a little, then frowns, running it's fingers through it's long grey hair. "Damn it. I knew all of that drinking were going to catch up to me someday, but I didn't know it'd be *this* bad."

Nancy nervously fidgits, "Um... well... you don't know? Uh..." oO(...what do I do now?) "Um... you've always lived here, don't you remember? Do you think you need a doctor?" Yes, the same old game. You think she'd have learned by now.

"...Doctor? Would that help?" Guukan takes a couple of steps closer, and is suddenly towering over Nancy. It smiles, revealing a double set of white fangs. "Oh... You know me, though? Who am I? What is our relationship?"

Nancy shrugs, "We're just friends, silly... but uh... your worrying me. You can't remember your name? Did you hit your head that hard?" Glancing around at the lack of objects to hit one's self with she begins to fidgit again, oO(Didn't have these problems last time...)

Guukan sniffs, closing it's eyes, and suddenly seems just about average height. "It would take a lot more than a stupid head wound to put *my* memories under." It opens an eye reluctantly, and glances around. "Odd, though. I should at least remember a *little* of this, even if this is amnesia, shouldn't I?"

Nancy sighs, "Um.. no... your always forgetting things. Last time you got mad at me and made me promise to let you name yourself if it happened again. Last time I called you Happy-Bunny for a week till you got your memory back."

Guukan smiles again, and this time it's teeth seem exactly normal for a human. "Oh, well, if I regain my memory, that's no problem at all, then. I suppose 'Happy-Bunny' can suffice until then. But..." It looks back to Nancy. "I don't suppose you'd know where I live or anything of the kind?"

Nancy laughs, "Sure... but remember you made me call you that! No getting mad at me this time about it!" Of course she's lying again, she always does this at first. Nervously she glances back towards the end of the street a ways down the beach as if expecting to see someone. When no one arrives she lets out a sigh and looks back at Guukan. "Well, I really should be letting you do the remembering. Not good if I just tell you everything, 'Happy'." oO(Odd... usualy they remember their names... I wonder if this is going to keep happening... They didn't used to forget everything...)

Happy-Bunny nods gravely, ruffing it's feathers a little. "There does seem to be a certain logic to this. But if I do not even know where my house is, it may be hard to survive until I remember."

Nancy sighs... oO(No imagination...) "Well, maybe your just hungry? Maybe some food will jog your memory! I know this great place not far from here... they have the best burgers..."

"Great idea! We can eat burgers, drink cheap liquer, and I can regain my memory!" Happy-Bunny smiles, then pauses thoughtfully. "...Do I like burgers?"

Nancy raises an eyebrow, "Well I guess your gonna have to find out, huh?" Grining mischivously she turns to walk towards the road. Suddenly a strange fog rolls in and everything turns white...

Tavern of Evil

Welcome! You see around you a simple tavern. Wood paneling, a pool table, about 6 tables and a bar. Nothing too fancy. However, behind the bar is not only a series of shelves filled with dozens of types of alchoholic beverages, but also a door leading to the storeroom where the rest of it is kept. The owner of the Tavern clearly has been to quite a few worlds in his travels...

As abruptly as it occured the fog drifts away, revealing the inside of a dimly lit pub. Happily walking up to a table, Nancy sits down and leans back, looking towards her new friend with intrest, "Aren't you going to sit down?"

Happy-Bunny smiles as it sees the Tavern. Looks like a likely prospect for alcohol, at the very least. It sits down across from Nancy and glances around the bar, ruffling it's feathers once again.

Nancy follows Guukan's glance towards the bar and nods to herself. "Want something to drink first? Tell me what you want, I'll go get it for you." As she speaks she starts to push herself up, ready to start walking... strange that the place has no waitstaff.

"Oh, I'll just... I... can't remember!" Happy-bunny leans back. "I can't believe this. Friends, family, food, sure. But forgetting my favorite liquor?" It runs it's fingers through it's hair. "This is unforgiveable."

Nancy sweatdrops and sighs, "How 'bout I just get you something at random, huh? Don't worry so much about it..." oO(I didn't want to take away anything.... how come everything is gone? I knew I shouldn't have promised not to try to erase anything at all if I did it again.) Making her way to the bar she seems to carry on a conversation with some shadow... suddenly the air fills with the smell of food, and Nancy makes her way back to the table with a serving tray topped with two hamburgers and two bubbling drinks. Also there is a tall black bottle with thick glass. "Here we go!" Passing the large bottle over she sits down and grabs one of the drinks, "I love the food here..." Quickly she picks up her dinner and begins to eat.

Happy-Bunny reaches out and takes the drink in it's hand, without moving it, staring deep into the glass as if it reveals the secrets of immortality. Or memory recovery. It gives a sudden start as Nancy bites down on her burger, and stares at her for a long moment. "Wait... I think... I think I remember... something."

Nancy raises an eyebrow and stares back at Guukan with the burger still held in the air infront of her, about to take another bite. "Huh? What's that?"

"I vowed never to take normal food or drink again, after that... Incident." Happy-Bunny glances down at Nancy and frowns. "Is that right? Is that why you brought me here?"

Nancy stares confused. "After.... what?" oO(Uh oh...) "Oh! Right! Yes! That's right! Um... congradulations! You, uh.... passed my test!" oO(Now what?) "Do you, uh, remember what you do eat or drink instead?"

Happy-Bunny stares. "The incident was that bad?" It removes it's hand from the glass reluctantly, leaving every drop of moisture in place, and continues to stares at Nancy, now looking a bit frantic. "...Don't you remember what I eat?"

Nancy sweatdrops on the verge of panic, "Why yes, of course! But... you need... to... figure it out yourself! Yes! You know what the doctors said! It's unhealthy for me to tell you anything. I've already said too much!"

"...No. No, I don't remember." Happy-bunny shakes it's head, between it's wildly flaring eyes and grimace looking markedly less happy then it's namesake. "It must be a real pain to have to put up with my memory loss. You can punch me or something if you want."

Nancy shakes her head without hesitation, "No no... it's ok, you can't help it! It's my fault anyways, you should be getting mad at me, not yourself..." Which is the truth at least. Sighing she sets her food down and looks pleadingly at her new friend, "You see... when you where young, I um... I accidentaly pushed a shelf over on you while we where playing. Yeah... um Mom was real upset, but they said it coulda happened to anyone. The, uh... accident damaged your short term memory so you keep forgeting things, but they always seem to come back to you after awhile. Maybe it'll just take a bit." oO(Sounds good at least...)

Happy-Bunny narrows it's eyes and folds it's arms, spreading it's wings to their fullest extent. "And... Why am I your friend exactly? You as much as ruined my life." It pauses, and shakes it's head, fire dying back out of it's eyes, and looks away. "...Sorry." It's wings droop, and fold up around it.

Nancy cringes hurtfully. "...it's ok... I'm... I'm sorry... it -was- an accident..." Sighing heavily she looks away, finding her appetite vanishing. oO(Maybe she was right... maybe I shouldn't be making stuff up all the time...) Too terrified to confess the truth she picks up her drink and takes a long drink from it choosing to remain silent.

Happy-Bunny gives a little start as Nancy begins to drink, then forces a smile to it's lips. "Don't worry about it. It happened a long time ago, not really your fault."

Nancy forces a smile herself and nods despite the tears of guilt welling up in her eyes, "I know... I just still feel really bad about it all... Look, maybe you'd like a salad or something? I could get you one..."

Happy-Bunny's eyes begin to flare up a little again, then it's smile softens. "Forget about it." It considers for a moment, then shakes it's head a little. "I think salad counts as food, even if it doesn't taste like it."

Nancy hmmm's... honestly she can't think of anything that doesn't count as food in some way. "Well... that doesn't leave alot left... you don't want to eat rocks do you?" Finaly smiling, just a little, as she makes her weak attempt at humor. "I mean, I can get some if that's what you really want..."

"...I don't think me teeth are *quite* that strong. Or my stomach." Happy-Bunny's smile strengthens, showing a little of the sharp curving teeth again. "Really. I'm sure that I'll be fine. I've always been fine before, right?"

Nancy really doesn't know... "Uh... yeah! Of course! Your still alive so far, right?" oO(What was I thinking of when I brought her here... I can't believe I was so careless...) Staring down at her plate as she thinks over things she becomes lost in her own thoughts...

Happy-Bunny glances around with a slight frown. "Odd, though. I don't remember this place being so... Empty." It shrugs a little, then turns back to Nancy. "So! What do you do around here? Or am I supposed to remember that on my own?"

Nancy giggles softly, "Well... I tend to just kinda sit and watch the waves alot. Airashisa likes to go shopping... and there's an amusment part on the other end of town... I don't know... we could do whatever..."

"The waves...? Shopping? What about jobs?" Happy-Bunny frowns, staring off into space. "I'm pretty sure I had a job. I can remember people telling me how bad I was at it, how I should show up for work more, how I shouldn't smite people for the fun of it..."

Nancy stares vacantly... "Um... well... a job, yeah..." oO(Uh oh... guess they haven't forgotten everything) "Um.. well, you uh... work.... here? That's why you keep wanting a drink!"

Happy-Bunny glances over to the bar and frowns contemplatively. "I thought that was the shadow's job." It turns back to Nancy and stares for a long moment. "I have a feeling you're hiding something from me."

Nancy raises an eyebrow and quickly turns towards the bar, "Wait.... what shadow?" Sure... things seem to look like she's talking to people alot, but a shadow doing a job? Weird.

Happy-Bunny stares at Nancy. "...Well, *someone* made those, didn't they?" It gestures to the burgers, drawing it's wings closer around it's body.

Nancy nervously chuckles, "Um... yeah... I'm sure someone did... Wanna go somewhere else?"

"If you don't want to tell me, just say so." Happy-Bunny pauses, then smiles, smoothing it's feathers down with one hand. "Anyways, a change of scene would be cool. Maybe it'd jog my memory."

Nancy smiles happily and decides just to walk this time... that always seems to make Airashisa more calm. Standing up slowly she makes her way to the door and steps outside...
