The Twisted street stretches on and on in two opposite directions, though in a straight line it does not stay. Forever is the street a black and white color, and even your own body and clothing begin to lose their flare and become a dull grey if you stay outside for too long. The sky above this part of the street is dark and grey, and rarely does the sun shine through. Newspapers from various times and places roll across the street, which isn't properly maintained and has multiple cracks in its forever running surface. Never does the wind stop blowing softly here. Pieces of buildings warp in and out of existence at times, all except one. A lone restaurant sits amidst the madness, alone and untouched by the darkness, a beam of light from the grey clouds occasionaly touches its surface.
From here do all the worlds, times, and lives of Twisted connect, on a never ending road that has no beginning or end. A simple five minute walk could bring you to another world, another place, another time. One can also get lost if they stray to far from the road, though rumors of Street wanderers spread eternally; those who have learned to stroll through the maddening insanity beyond the road. Wander where you will, but stick to the path lest you never return to it.
Twisted Street, the never ending winding twisting straight chaotic stretch of black stone where beasts come to eat your soul in the middle the sunny night. Right now, a pale skinned woman is sitting down among some debree or wreckage of some such building that only got half dimensionaly ported in and then collapsed on itself. The vampire's staring up at the ever changing sky, though she winces when the sun appears and her flesh smokes briefly. One of her legs is missing from the upper thigh down, just a healed over stump, somehow the stump looks nice and perfectly formed, so even though she's missing the leg it doesn't take away from her overall looks too badly. The vines around her body have grown down from just covering her bosom and waist to actually snaking along her arms and legs, though the one's going down the left stay at the end of the stump. She looks relaxed, and is just sitting there in the rubble.
Out of the blue comes a blur known as Johnny C running down the street chasing down a small animal with both his daggers drawn. "COME BACK HERE YOU SON-OF-A-BITCH!!!" The tiny hairless dog skids to a halt infront of Vashtearnia, turns, and begins to yelp loudly at the maniac. Johnny slides to a stop infront of the dog, both his daggers poised and ready to strike the loud beast down. "You've been a thorn in my side for FAR TOO LONG!!!!" He leaps forwards after it, but the clever chihuahua hops onto his head and jumps away, running down the street once again. Johnny goes face first into the rubble at Vash's feet and screams as he pushes himself back up. He turns to look for the dog and, finding nothing, he screams, "RUN WHILE YOU CAN YOU MUTT!!! I'LL KILL YOU IF IT'S THE LAST THING I DO!!!!"
Vashtearnia shifts her eyes onto the dog and then over towards Johnny as he comes to a stop and crashes in front of her. A smile comes to her face at the sight of him for a moment, but then fades away just as fast. Remembering their last conversation. Her eyes look over to the vines on her arms and leg. She shifts some in the rubble, sitting up more, she reaches out a hand, almost, to try and touch NNY's face, but it moves to rest on the top of her knee instead, a lot of sarcastic remarks come to her lips, but she holds them all back, and instead, just says, "Hello NNY." She winces again as the sun comes out and her skin smokes. That's irritating...but not enough to make her move.
Johnny has already taken a step away to run for the dog but the sudden voicing of his name sends him nearly tumbling face first again. Catching himself and waving his arms comicly he spins around and bl-blinks. "Vashtearnia??" Completly caught off guard he fumbles with his daggers a second before they vanish into his sleaves with a soft >ka-chink<. One of his hands goes towards rubbing the back of his head a moment as he stares in confusion. "Your uh... looking well..." He then glances downwards. "...mostly."
Vashtearnia nods her head once at Johnny's words, she looks down at the leg she's missing as well as he does, then back up towards Johnny. She then looks over where the dog ran off too and reaches up to brush some of her white hair from her face, not using any of her vampiric glamour to make it look hypnotic, it just looks...like pretty white hair. "You don't have to talk to me. I'll run out of time soon, anyway, and you made your feelings clear enough last time we spoke." She says, knowing that he happned across her by chance, and not wanting him to feel obligated, besides, she's not completly sure she wants to talk to him, either.
Johnny shakes his head. "Y'know, your the one attacking my friends. There's nothing going on between me and Devi, and there wasn't anything going on between us. However, I don't stick my neck out for anyone just to fuck with them. I'm not that big of a jackass..." He stops as if he's run out of words in his vocabulary. Shaking his head again he growls, "Fuck it. I've said enough. Things didn't have to turn out the way they did." Pointing at Vashtearnia he takes a step back. "Don't go fucking trying to make me feel guilty. I've got enough problems in my life as it is." He turns away looking for the dog again, "...now where's that fucking chihuahua?"
Vashtearnia gives a hungry fanged smile at Johnny, that's why she likes him, because he acts like that. It's just so, fascinating. She brings her arms down under herself and shoves softly, her body floating up and balancing on one leg, another arm reaching out and grabbing onto a nearby building to keep herself steady. She can float, but it takes blood, and she doesn't want to waste any right now. "He's probably gone through another dimension." She nods her head, one of the vines on her good leg digging into the ground, "All right, NNY. Goodbye. By the by, I did love you a lot." Her smiles goes away, "You're the only person I ever talked to without being sarcastic too, it was nice being me, for a time." She waves her hand, leaning against the nearby crumbling wall.
Johnny registers the words despite his attempts at looking distracted. Finally with an annoyed eye roll he turns back around, crossing his arms. "Alright, and what the fuck are you going on about now? The guy you had a crush on doesn't like you so your gonna kill yourself? That's about the most self-centered egotistical piece of crap I've ever heard. If I wanted to see you die I wouldn't have drug you here from Chronos." Uncrossing his arms he unsheaths a dagger and stabs it into a piece of a wall beside him. "What the fuck do you want?? What's it going to take to get you to stop this gloom and doom rambling and see you make something of yourself? Don't you realise it's better to live in misery than not to exist? I've tried to kill myself more times than I can count, but you know what? I'm glad I never succeded perminently. Even if I was miserable I'm glad to still be here. You don't want to see what the other side is like when it comes to life and death. It's annoying and stupid." He knows. He speaks from experience.
Vashtearnia raises an eyebrow at Johnny, she then laughs, just a little bit. She shakes her head back and forth, looking up at the sky as another vine slides itself down into the ground, digging itself in, a few roses bloom and wilt on the vines around her leg. "NNY, darling, I'm not going to kill myself. I'm going to sing soon, and then one of me is going to be left, but, I don't think it'll be me, it'll be the other me." She looks back to NNY, "I'm speaking in riddles, isn't it fun?" She narrows her eyes softly, smiling, "I might not be here, but one of me will still be alive, so I'm not killing myself at all. I appreciate you laying human morals and sentiments on me though, it was...cute."
Johnny's eye twitches angrily. "Yeah. Sure. Cute." He says that last word with disgust. "Everytime I make the mistake of worring about you in the slightest you manage to make me feel idiotic and stupid. What is that your gift to the world or something? You've been going on and on about this singing thing. It's getting old! I'm tired of hearing about it! I'm tired of the stupid games. What the FUCK did I waste time listening to you for??" Yanking his dagger free he resheaths it and runs both his hands through his hair in frustration. "Go do whatever the fuck it is your going to do and be done with it!! Excuse me for trying to fucking help..." Vashtearnia nods her head at NNY and looks up to the sky, smiling fangedly, "Right, I'm sorry NNY. I'm just not a sensitive or careing person, though I did love you, I think, very strongly." She looks back at NNY, and waves her hand again, "Go, chase your dog. I'll see you again, or a part of me will, I think, maybe. I don't want your sympathy or your pity, but I'd take your love. But, I don't think you have any to go around. Should of noticed that before." She laughs, and falls back into the rubble roughly, not seeming to care though. More of the vines around her body dig into the ground and she closes her eyes, "I hope you catch the dog, and thanks for freeing me from Chronos, I hated that place."
Johnny's eye twitches again. His brain can only interpret things one possible way. "QUIT PATRANISING ME!!!" Drawing both his daggers he clutches them tightly and glares angrily at Vashtearnia. "What kind of person do you take me for?? How fucking stupid do you think I am?? I don't have to take this from you, I don't have to take this from anyone!! JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP!!" Like a tidal wave, darkness flows from his daggers and blankets his form in seconds. Johnny's eyes open in a pupil-less red and narrow into tiny slits. "Are you ENJOYING this?? Is this just some kind of FUCKING GAME to YOU???" Using one of the daggers he points at her again, "WHAT THE FUCK IS YOUR PROBLEM?? WHY DO YOU HAVE TO BE SO FUCKING CLICHE?!?" Johnny's head twists as it lifts up revealing for probably the first time to anyone who's known him - his neck. Actually his entire body seems to shift and twist as his rage engulfs him. The nightmarish Nny clutches his daggers as tightly as possible until the smallest trickle of blood drips down the hilts of the weapons. Even his voice seems to deepen. "On and ON you ramble on! Your precious singing!! Your stupid sarcasm! You try to lay your GUILT upon me with the phrase LOVE but you don't bother to EXPLAIN THE FIRST THING your rambling on about!!! I can't STAND THIS ANYMORE!!"
Vashtearnia tilts her head to the side at NNY's reaction, some of the vines pausing in their descent towards the ground from her body. She taps her fingers on her stomach, staring at him for a few good long moments. She rests her head back against a stone, "I'm not cliche, I'm Vashtearnia." She says, smiling and closing her eyes, enjoying the smell of that blood...blood is...it smells so good to her right now, she hasn't fed on a human for a good while, but she keeps herself in check. "NNY. Listen to me, I..." She grits her teeth, o O ( Why? Because I feel like it. Shut up. No. It's almost time you whore. Hmf. ) "I'm not really a person, well, not one person." She opens her eyes and looks towards him, smiling, showing her fangs, "I'm four different people, as far as I can tell, if you include me. There's Tear, that's the one who comes out when the vines take over." She gestures down at the vines, "Then there's Nia, she's a little child, she might even kind of be a part of the roses, maybe a split off. Then there's Vash, who I resemble the most, she's crazy though, I've never had her manifest while I was in control, so i'm not sure what she's like except not stable. Soon. Maybe tonight, maybe a week from now, I'm going to sing a song, and so will they, and whoever has the most to sing and the largest desire to what they are singing of, is going to win final control of the body. It won't be me, because I'm all of them, sort of, and I don't have much left to cling too. I think Tear, or maybe Tearnia is going to win, unless he shows up, he favors Vash, but he hasn't come the last few times this happened." She shrugs her shoulders, grinning, "Do you feel enlightened, NNY? Will you love me now and keep me by your side forever?"
Johnny slowly, slooooowlly, relaxes his grip on the daggers and takes a deep breath following the completion of Vashtearnia's story. His form relaxes back to normal and as he takes a second breath he resheathes his daggers placing a hand on his forehead. "So let me get this straight... you've got voices in your head that are fighting for control and for some stupid reason the one who gets control is the one with the most desire to live? And your gonna determine that with a stupid SONG?" He takes another breath and opens his eyes to let the now white orbs look at Vashtearnia's expression. "You do realise I can go into people's heads. Into their dreams... I can create figments and apparently make them real. If you'll drop all this love shit I can probably help you..."
Vashtearnia shakes her head back and forth, "They're not always there, they come and go, and I've been in control for a very long time, besides, if you go in here..." She taps her forward, "I think you encountered him once, he'll show up, and he'll either destroy you, me, both of us, or parts of me. Besides, it'd be unfair to the others if we didn't give them a chance to win." She winks at him and closes her eyes back up, the vines digging down into the ground again, which begins to pull her down into it slowly, "I'm going to go to sleep for a few days and think things over." She holds out a hand as she sinks, "Want to come with me, my love?" She asks, tilting her head to the side.
Johnny breathes heavily as he shakes his head in frustration. "Stop calling me that, damnit." Rubbing his forehead he tries to think. "Tell ya what, I know I'm gonna regret this but if you want your welcome to camp out in one of the subfloors of my basement. The whole place is a giant tomb anyways. You'd probably enjoy it. Since the figments came to life down there I haven't been able to keep them from randomly screaming. I'm sure it'd be just like home for you. Tunnels, caves, you name it. Camp out at my place while you think this over. If you can drop all this love crap I'll do what I can to help you." Johnny's form reverts completly back to normal as he guestures for her to follow him. "All I ask is you promise not to eat Squee..."
Vashtearnia smiles at NNY, she flows up out of the ground and hobbles onto her one leg, the vines all pulling back into the normal positions around her body, "Only if I can use you as a crutch to get there, darling NNY." She says, moving to try to do just that, but she's assuming he'll dodge so she'll just hop along, gracefully.
Johnny groans heavily. "It's always gotta be something with you, hasn't it?" Surprisingly he pulls out his gloves and offers his hand towards Vashtearnia after putting them on. "I've only done this one time and no one found out. I'd like to keep it that way." Expecting her to take his hand he takes out a dagger in the other one. "...but we're going in shadows. It's faster that way." Stabbing the partial wall beside him, darkness flows from the blade and soon a large black portal awaits them. "Don't expect me to do this again..."
