Dusk is beginning to break outside of the cathedral. The doors to the once proud church are open, but the inside is dark. Dark, save for a few blue flamed candles lit along the aisles. The candles are floating in the air without any constraints. The light from them leads towards the altar where the form of Magus is kneeling. His head is hung low and and the air around him is cold. Very cold. He is in deep meditation right now, with no observation of the physical world around him. He is one with the Black Wind at this moment in time.

The land is filled with individuals who appear nice enough, yet there has been no place that feels comfortable to her. Since her arrival, she's spent time searching for an area that she may just feel that she can stay. Her latest wanderings have sent her through another wooded area, which strangely is more comfortable to her than the local town. Her steps continue until she eventually finds a break from the nature. Expecting little, she's quite surprised to find a building. It's not just any building, but a cathedral. For several long moments she stands outside, examining what could quite possibly be one of the most beautiful buildings that she has seen in this new land. Eventually she does enter, wishing to know more about this location. Steena's shocked to find it so dark within, but this does not slow her determination to learn. The blue flames are noticed, even examined, but they draw no outward sign of emotion. It's not for quite some time that she finally notices the figure of another. Slowly she dares approach, but she says nothing.

Even as Steena approaches, the form of the dark mage does not seem to notice. The truth is, he knows all too well that the maiden is approaching, but he is so deep in his meditation that he seems not to take heed of her arrival. The wind, however, starts to howl and grow colder the closer she comes to him. Were she to get even a small glimpse of his eyes, she would see that they are glowing in a deep, bright purple hue. A quiet hum... almost like that of a moan, is also audible.

The eyes of the other are not noticed, due to her keeping behind his form. She may be curious, but she also is not entirely disrespectful. As she steps closer, the room begins to chill. The further she goes, it seems, the worse it gets. Goosebumps begin to form on those areas of skin that are visible, but she does not falter. He's busy, so she decides to investigate other areas. She is by no means hiding her existence, but she also is not going to speak up. Instead, Steena continues her soft steps, which lead her to an organ. A finger runs lightly along the wood beneath the keys, but she does not actually press them.

"Press the key to shake the world," speaks a voice. Low, booming. It echoes throughout the great hall of the cathedral, not eminating from one place. It is the voice of Magus, but he still seems to be knelt in front of the altar. He has not moved since Steena decided to come here.

With all things considered, this is quite possibly the least harmful or frightening location that she's been to since arriving in this land. Slowly she turns her head just enough so that she's looking at Magus over her shoulder. "If I press enough, will I be granted access back to my home?" The question is not one meant for an answer. Steena knows full well, at least deep down, that she'll not be leaving any time soon. A finger does move, tracing a path from the wood to a key. Again she does not actually press, however, but is more fascinated with the organ itself.

While Steena was focusing on the keys of the organ, Magus had moved to stand up. His eyes are still glowing purple and he is floating in the air. Hovering about four inches from the ground. "None of us have seen our homes for a long time. It is likely that we will be here for longer than we wish," he says. The voice is the same as the one that was booming, but it's more subdued. It actually comes from the mage himself this time. "The black wind has not given me any solutions. We are here until destiny deems it is time to take us somewhere else," he states. His arms cross over his chest as he watches the woman at the organ. A woman he did not recognize.

The shrine maiden is not overly impressed, although she does look twice once she catches the glow to his eyes. While not the same as hers, his eyes are different like hers. A full look at Magus reveals that he is less like the other humans about than she is. He almost reminds her of the demi-humans from back home. "I came to this conclusion while I witnessed the aftermath of the attack at the fair. This does not mean that I am any more comforted." Slender shoulders rise as Steena shrugs. She doesn't appear scared, or even bothered. "I also wish not to stand idly by as events I do not understand unfold."

"How can you help if you do not understand?" Magus asks Steena as he floats down towards the aisles. As he does so, every candle he passes lights up. They all glow an eerie blue. Very hot to the touch. They offset the fact that the mage himself seems to have a cold aura around him. "One must have a comprehension of a situation to know how to create a solution. You, obviously being new around here, have no comprehension. What can you possibly offer?" he asks. His questions are cold, probably mean. Yet, they are probing questions. It's obvious to him that this woman has some measure of strength and resolve. He wants to know how much.

"I am fully aware that the attack is being blamed on a place known as Porre, and that there are currently some issues with it. I may not have specifics, but are they really needed when the grounds littered with bodies speak so loudly?" Arms are gracefully lifted to fold about each other as Steena stands tall against the one that is new to her. "I am able to lend my blade in efforts to stop the bloodshed, but I would prefer to offer wisdom and the ability to ease suffering. Tensions will never end if further violence is the road traveled." She watches him closely as he moves, but she herself remains ever still.

The mage stops hovering so that he can face the shrine maiden from another world. He is very near the doors, which are still open. "... Who are you, exactly? You are wise, yet I know not your name or your appearance. Or, for that matter, your abilities. Which would seem to be great if your words are true," he says, eyes carefully looking Steena up and down. "Perhaps you came from the future that Lynx is from," he states aloud, though it is not directly meant for her. It is more of an outward thought.

His examining of her causes one of her slender brows to lift into the air, but that is the only reaction his actions receive. "You could always inquire as to my identity from the blue haired boy in town. While I cannot say as I have met him before, he seems to know me." Steena is about to further explain who she is when his last words strike her. "I know this Lynx of which you speak. There are many that would gladly take their own lives before having to face him. I am not one of those people." Her arms gradually ease their way back to her sides. "I am but a simple shrine maiden by the name as Steena." The part where she's the chief of Guldove is temporarily forgotten.

"..." The figure of Magus floats back across the cathedral towards Steena. His eyes are no longer glowing. They are now his usual mix of red and dark blue. Purple? Maybe. But not quite. "Indeed, you are not," he says. He can tell the woman has considerable strength. Not the kind that one fights with. But the kind that makes someone stand out as leader. "Steena..." He repeats as he circles around her in the air a few times. "If you have read your history of our world, you should know who I am," the mage states without giving his name.

The benefit of being from a place mostly unknown is that there are few who could actually suggest that she's not being fully upfront. "History is a staple for life, and something that ought to be studied. The past can be more informative than simply giving dates and incidents." History does have a way of repeating itself, after all. For the first time during this meeting, Steena allows herself to smile softly. "The pale skin and pointed lobes should be enough to allow me to guess, but the flame confirms my suspicions. At first, I did not realize that those in this land were from different moments in time."

And what with everything that had been happening lately, there was a certain girl on a warpath.... Marle, and she wasn't very happy right now. Her mouth was drawn tightly into a grim and determined... well, it was almost a grimace if she hadn't had her mouth shut. It was very odd for her, that was for sure. She stormed through the forest with all the grace of an enraged elephant with ADHD, finally coming up to the doors of the cathedral... before she halted, and crossed her arms. "I hope he's got some answers..." Not that she liked relying on the enigmatic and dark evillish sorcerer, but there wasn't anyone else she could think of that was left to ask at this point.

The first thought that comes to mind when Steena starts to talk about Magus's ears is that he wants to blast her into the next dimension, but... well. He can not. Joking aside, it seemed that the maiden was being at least somewhat respectful... enough to give the two of them some report with each other. "... My ears are a symbol of a time long past," he states simply enough as he backs away from Steena. He has loomed over her long enough. Time to give her some space. Which is when Marle arrives. His eyes glance towards the door where he sees the shadow of her figure. The doors seem to open just a little bit more wide to invite her in. " "As are my eyes," Steena notes, referring to the reptite blood that flows through her veins. "Such symbols, such simple reminders, are a blessing to have." As Magus gives her space, she takes a step forward. This is done not to approach him, but to rather feel as if she has more space. "Those who judge simply do not understand, or are possibly envious." The conversation is interrupted by the arrival of another. She does not know this for certain other than the fact that the door is glanced upon. So, too, does she look in the direction in which the doors are located.

Whoops! The doors opening wasn't something Marle was expecting, and that completely broke her horrible mood a bit... simply by being started! With a muffled 'yikes!' She practically leapt straight up, but quickly recovered and took a few steps into the cathedral, looking around hesitantly, then folding her hands behind her back, fingers fidgeting constantly. She didn't recognize Steena... "Magus! Did you--" she called out.... then quieted down, shaking her head. "Er, I'm not disturbing anything here am I?" Who the heck was that woman...?

The eyes of Magus turn towards Marle again when she comes in yelling. He knows all ready what could be on the young queen's mind. Something that weighs heavily on the minds of everyone around here. "No. I am simply making an acquaintance. It would seem," he says, turning his eyes back to Steena. Grace and power seemed to eminate from this woman. Perhaps should would be a powerful ally. "She is one of the few intelligent ones that has cared to come to my door," he says to Marle.

With what she can best determine is an introduction, she dips her head to Marle. She remembers seeing this one before, but still has no idea who she is to this land. "I am known as Steena. If you wish a meeting with Sir Magus, I can always return at a later time. I am simply here out of curiosity." As Steena speaks, she keeps her tone low and respectful. To shout is not something that she is comfortable with, but she also can understand why others may do so.

"Yes, there are not many intelligent people that walk upon this world." A dark voice booms through the cathedral once more. The one who speaks those words had been here previously once, and has returned once more now. "Of course, intelligence is only a way of judging one another." Within the open door, a few meters behind Marle, stands Ranmaru. One hand keeping the heavy cathedral-door open. He closes his mouth again, and a hood quickly falls over his face, casting a shadow over it. He is wearing a big black robe that drags over the floor. He takes a step forth and the door begins to squeek as it closes behind him. Beneath his hood two yellow eyes suddenly lit up softly. They can be seen shifting, scanning the room.

The Queen spins about to take a GOOOD look at Ranmaru, before she sidesteps to give him some room to walk in-- not only that, she didn't like having an open door with people behind her. Now a small bit calmer, Marle nodded to Steena. "Pleased to meet you, Steena." Yep, a lot calmer... intelligent people, huh? Well, relaxed a bit more than before Marle tromped up the aisle, glancing back again at Ranmaru... had she seen him before or not? There was something odd about EVERYONE these days! "You can call me Marle!" Yep, at least a bit of her usual cheer had returned. But now it was time to be serious. As soon as she'd finished tromping up, Marle crossed her arms. "... Do you know what happened the other day in the fairgrounds?" ....uh-oh.

Ranmaru is, for the most part, ignored. Yet another man coming to challenge the mage at a game of wits, Magus can only assume. There are more important matters at hand to discuss than the psychological tendencies of the people around this area. "I only regret that I was not there myself to stop it. Far too much blood was shed," the mage states as calmly as he can, though it is easy to tell that the subject does not sit well with him.

"Even as skilled as I am, I cannot heal death. It appears as if I were summoned a day too late to be of any use." The words 'I apologize' are close to being said, but they are not. It's not like she's been able to control any of this so far, including her very arrival. "Perhaps I should try to speak with those supposedly responsible for such a tragedy?" Ranmaru is recognized, but primarily only due to his little 'fire' her first day around. "A pleasure, Marle. I only wish that our meeting was due to better circumstances."

Ranmaru squints his eyes and sends a glare at Marle as she turns about to look at him. Yes, she had seen him at the fairgrounds. "Death. Much death. A trap." He answers Marle's question. "Though this is only a simple answer, it is the only thing I will tell you." He pauses for a moment and throws a glance as the longeared magician seems to ignore him. However, this does not come as an insult to him, in all honesty, there is no care about it. "Hmm." He lets out a hum, something he does quite often and takes a few steps towards Marle. His eyes however turn towards Steena as she speaks. "You speak foolish words woman. You would only have been one more target. Your presence might only have worsened it." He pauses again, waiting a the response from anyone.

Magus would continue his conversation with Steena and Marle, were Ranmaru not spouting off nonsense, calling his other guests "fools". In an instant, the mage is hovering directly in the face of Ranmaru. His eyes once again are burning a deep purple. If there is one thing Magus hates, it is a party crasher, and since he does not know this man, it would seem that is what he is trying to be. "You come into my domain and you insult my company. It does not matter who is right or wrong here. What matters is that you speak without knowing. Mind your tongue..." the dark mage says, eyes pulsing for a moment. When they finish, his famed scythe appears in his hand. His grip on it is tight. "... Or I shall cut it out," he finishes, his voice still calm as always but his face is directly in front of the other man's.

The response from Marle came first! She shook her head. "That was a.. massacre..." The hope left her voice for that stat3ement, and she closed her eyes. "It was terrible..." But if MAgus was telling the truth... "Why weren't you there, then?" Yep.. empty. But she sucked in her breath and tried to get back her spirit. "The Knights are out searching for the ones who did it! But I was hoping you might be able to help. Something... there's something very wrong going on here, you know." She listened carefully to Ranmaru, blinking a few times, and stepped to the side again. "Hey! You could be a little bit nicer to her, you know." Those who knew her would easily tell this was not a Marle that was feeling like herself at the moment... but who could blame her?

It would appear that at least one person inside the cathedral is not offended, and that person is actually the one who the words were directed to. Slowly she shakes her head, still wearing the partial smile she's had since their arrival. This action causes her bangs to mess slightly, but not enough for her to attempt to fix. Steena begins to step towards the confrontation, unbothered and unafraid. "Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, even those opinions that are uneducated. If he truly believes that I am of no use, then he will just have to see if he correct or not." She's not one to overstep her boundaries, but such fighting isn't getting anyone anywhere. Calmly she tries to place a gentle hand upon the shoulder of Magus, as if to ease him. "He appears to walk the path of solitude. If that is his choice, so be it. I, personally, take no offense to his words." Red eyes focus on Marle as she allows her hand to slide, if it indeed makes contact. "Thank you," she offers softly.

Ranmaru's eyes slowly turn upwards. Were Magus standing on the floor, Ranmaru would have been able to look down on him, but with all that floating going on, he was forced to look up. The two yellow lit eyes show no emotion, staring at Magus. "Ah yes. Magus." He simply stares at him and slowly raises a hand upwards towards the scythe. A small cloud of darkness appears over his fingers, but he does not touch the object. Like a person preparing to put out a flame with their fingers, but hesitating. "Speak without knowing?" He turns his eyes towards Marle. "Nice?" He blinks for a moment and then shakes his head and takes a step past Magus, as if he were ignoring him. A step towards Steena. "Hmmm..." He pauses for a moment. "I am unsure how Magus is able to see your wisdom. But I can see it as well... a small spark." For a moment his voice sounded kind, much like he speaks to Kid. Ranmaru's gaze then turns away from her and focusses on Marle. "I shall share a thing with you. Beware of who you blame. I realize that you seek for the ones who comitted the atrocity upon the fairgrounds, but be sure to seek without bias."

Magus, for the moment, decides to watch this play out. He figures he will find out more information about these people from observation rather than interaction.

The spunky Queen blinked a few times at Steena's actions., calming down quite a bit... allllll the way down. "You're welcome, Steena." But then... Ranmaru's words hit her... and she shook her head, confused. "Wait, what do you mean by that?!" She'd already heard of some suspicion as to who did what... "All I want to do is find out where they are and why they did it! Who they are doesn't matter right now! What do you mean without bias...?" Hmm. Things were getting weird around here. They were never simple! Marle crossed her arms thoughtfully... brooding on those words for now.

Even though Ranmaru is able to ignore Magus, Steena is not. She remains close to the one from Zeal, even if she's not interacting with him. If there is one thing that she has learned, it is that every angry person needs time to cool down. "Whatever qualm you may have with each other, I do ask that it be set aside for the moment. Answers are desired, and if we are against each other, they will never be found." This is said as Steena looks directly at Ranmaru. She then turns towards Marle and bows her head deeply. "You seem to be in a position to demand answers, more so than some of the others that I have encountered. I shall lend my hand to you as best I can during this crisis."

"Either way. I shall take my leave. I said more than I should have. I have... other matters to deal with." He grumbles for a moment, with a whispering voice saying: "Kid might get herself into deep trouble." It was nearly inaudible, and the fact that at that moment he was turning around and a ruffle of his cloak voiced itself didn't help it either. But it was not impossible to catch those words. "I shall take my leave. That which I came to find here apparently is a lost hope." And with those words the man seems to disappear in a cloud of dark mist which then continue to fleet out of the door, through the tiniest of cracks.

Other matters? This was getintg confusing... and coplicated, almost too much so. "But..." Well, too late. He was gone. Marle uncrossed her arms jerkily, but then turned to take a GOOOOD look at Steena's face. "I want to know what happened, Steena! Lots of people are dead and nobody knows why or! Of course I want answers!" But then she managed a tiny smile. "And thank you! I'm glad, with everyone working together we'll get to the bottom of this in no time!" She HAD to stay positive!

The good look is returned evenly. Steena nods once more, just as deeply as before. "I do not have your answers, but I will do my best to find them for you." If only her best will be good enough. Feeling that there is little else to do around here, she begins to make her exit as well. "I am off to find a place to stay, since I obviously will not be leaving this place any time soon. While I do not know where I will be staying, you have my word that I will be around and easy to find if you are searching." With a proper nod to the remaining two in the room, she leaves.

(At this point the scene closes due to people idling out and falling asleep. Such is the nature of MU*ing. XD)
