Coffee anyone? | ||

Cassie happens to already be at the UR, feet propped up in a booth, warm cup of steaming coffee in her hand. She watches as Lina sits down, eyeing the new comer. Cassie's long black hair twitches and coils itself at her neck as it pulls away from the rising coffee mug. She smiles and slides on her dark glasses, speaking. "Good morning." Yeah, she's never met Lina, but politeness is universial. Lina oop. There's someone here! She gives a kind of double-take as she looks at Cassie specifically, then gives a mighty stretch while she wonders what it was that she thought she saw. Probably nothing! Now that she's achieved a more upright posture she answers the greeting, "Good morning, ah..." Finally, as if she failed to notice the entire time, she turns and looks at the server on duty. "Ah, just a small coffee. And..." She goes on to describe an impossibly massive breakfast and adds as an afterthough, "With a short stack of pancakes." Biiih. She pullpulls her gloves off, then turns back to give Cassie another curious look. "I'm kind of surprised to see anyone else here this early! Then again... Most of the people I see here probably only come out at night." Cassie smiles warmly. "Yeah, well, I'm an early riser myself. It's nice to see the day wake up." It'd all be very cute, if it weren't for the oversized glasses. "I havn't seen you around before, are you new?" Yes, Cassie still feels like the tour guide as it were, and makes it a point to try to find out about the newcomers or people she doesn't know to well. "Anyway, I'm Cassie." Lina hasn't seen much as far as glasses go - at least, not the oversized kind. "Ah, new? Well, I've been here before but it's been awhile apparently." Ahem. "I guess for all intents and purposes though I am new. I don't recognize much of anything but this place!" Sheepish little grin, "Nice to meet you, anyway. Lina Inverse!" Cassie giggles, motioning to the scutters to bring another cup of coffee. She slides out of her booth and takes a seat a stool or 2 away from Lina. Makes for better conversation, or at the very least, their not screaming at each other across the place. "Yeah, this place has changed a lot since I was last here too. It's kinda nice, but I've gotten lost twice already." Lina pokes one of the things with the toe of her boot after tossing her gloves onto the bartop, "Yeah, the last time I was here these were bugs I think." Streeetch. She doesn't really mind screaming too much. Afterall, that's her primary means of communicating with people she knows! "And I haven't ran around alot myself, at least not out of sight of what I already know." Cassie says, "It seems a little more orgainized. Like whatever Gods of Twisted got disgusted at the mess. It's still very chaotic in a lot of places though, so I'd be careful." The skutter brings her her coffee, beeping loudly at Lina's poke and zooming off back into the kitchen. Cassie stirs her coffee. "you'll have to forgive them, they have a bit of attitude." She grins. Lina eh!? She lifts her foot away from the beeping just in case, then looks hard after the offending crittermachine. "Hmph. Still better than bugs. Hmm, there's gods here too huh? That figures - always has to be someone up there messing around with everything. The status quo just isn't ever good enough!" Smirk. She gets her coffee shortly after, takes a drink... ahh. Cassie shrugs. It was just an example. The closest one would get to a god is Concordence, but only because she's thinks she's on that level. Still, Cassie's never met her and shouldn't speak against her. The kitchen rolls out with lina's breakfast and Cassie's eyes go wide at the amount of food. "how can you eat all that?" Lina aha! Her breakfast arrives and she puts away her cynical-about-godthings attitude. "How?" She looks somewhat thoughtful a moment, "I guess I use alot of it up being active! Though really, using magic kinda makes you use it up alot faster!" She grabs utensils, picks a spot and starts to dig in, though she's still very capable of holding at least a somewhat civilized conversation! Cassie's eyes widen underneath the glasses, and she slides a few dollars towards the barkeep for her coffee. "Well, I won't bother you while your eating." She smiles brightly. "Plus, I need to go tend my garden." She wiggles her fingers at the skutters in farewell and stands up. "It was nice meeting you, Lina. If your ever over in the Houseing Area, feel free to stop by my house. It's a real simple home, so you wouldn't be able to miss it." | |
