The Usual Restaurant

You walk into a very large restaurant with high ceilings that leave the rafters exposed. Fluorescent lamps hang from the ceiling, adding light to the place and tables. Windows adorn the sides of the place, looking out onto the chaos that is Twisted. On some of the walls are paintings, photographs, and some holograms of different B-movies, and a number of people who tend to visit the UR as they're singing karaoke. The hardwood bar rests at the back of the place, it's surface polished and shiny and all together spotless (most of the time). Behind the bar are various beverages that are served and a giant mirror. There seems to be an inordinate amount of different drinks. A large stage rests in one of the corners of the restaurant, with an amazing sound system and a few microphones strung about it. Multiple round wood tables are in the room, and a swing door leads into the kitchen. Another door leads to the dance club, and another to the gym. And of course, there's an exit to the outside. A large fireplace rests in one of the walls, with a beautiful stone chimney that flows up and out. A long spiral staircase rests near the entrance to the kitchen, leading to a second floor balcony that overlooks the UR itself. The lights up there are a bit dimmer than those down below.

Devi walks into the UR, her backpack slung over her shoulder and a bounce in her step. Striding quickly, she settles down in a booth, a handful of papers withdrawn and set on the table. Devi spreads them out, looking over each one before selecting one and pushing the rest carelessly to the side.

There's already someone in the UR once Devi walks in. Wolfe sits at the bar, well really he slumps over the bar, arms crossed and head down, looking to be asleep. He mutters under his breath though, and probably nothing that makes any real sense.

Kyoko smiles at Devi as she enters, and gives a slight bow "Welcome to the Usual". She meanwhile delivers a drink to an NPC at the bar next to Wolfe, who gives the appearantly asleep individual a sideways look....

Devi nods at Kyoko after settling in, eyeing the sleeping Wolfe. She balls up a piece of paper and tosses it at him, hoping to at least hit him. "Send a skutter over with a coke, will you please Kyoko?" Devi smiles slightly before going back to her papers, one eye cocked on Wolfe.

Wolfe starts awake as the ball of paper bounces off the back of his head. "Rip out their hearts and burn them!" He then blinks a few times and looks around, bleary eyes focusing on Kyoko and then Devi, "Did I fall alseep?" It seems he's not even aware of his little outburst.

Kyoko nods to Devi before stopping, giving Wolfe a look halfway between fear and confusion. She promptly goes and gets the coke and tries to ignore it. Meanwhile, the guy next to Wolfe does similiar, stands, and decides it might be safer outside, and leaves. As the skutter carries the soda to the violet-haired maniac, Kyoko looks back to Wolfe "Yes, you did sir".

Devi snerks as Wolfe jolts awake. "It looks horrible for people to be sleeping in the front part of the UR. Especially since the UR has beds in the back and the Hotel is across the Street." She grins cheekily. Once Stab'em arrives with her soda, she transfers it onto her table. "Kyoko, how's things been latly"

Wolfe nods his head. "Yeah, I guess that's true enough. Jsut dozed off though, so it's not my fault." He looks over at Kyoko, taking a few seconds before he finally says, "Can I get a coffee.. and maybe some bacon.. crispy. Because bacon's good."

Kyoko nods, writing the order, and putting it to where Sung takes them to make the food. She looks to Devi, eyes flicking to her shoulder for a brief second, where the gash in the sleeve covering her right arm has been stitched up "I'm well, thank you. Yourself?".

Devi eyes the girl. "Not bad, but how's business?" She's not being rude, per se, just asking about how the people of Twisted have adapted and settled back in since the re-set. Devi curls her lips slightly before forcing it back down. Since 'quitting' she's fighting to slide into the social life, versus the fighting life. It doesn't suit her.

Wolfe spins on the stool to face Devi, just looking at her with an unreadable expression, studying her for a few moments. He doesn't speak up, just letting Kyoko and her have their conversation while he not so subtely eavesdrops.

Kyoko says, "Suprisingly well. There were more survivors than i thought there could have been". Not that she is any expert on anything otuside the UR and its walls, but to an ant a swimming pool would seem insurmountable, so to is Twisted to her. "Many of our regulars have been back since, as well."

Devi looks back at Wolfe as he spins around, her face unfliching or showing any sign of confusion. She's still not sure how to approch the boy. "Good. That means that people are mostly ok. I was worried that they'd crawl into a hole somewhere and die."

Wolfe thanks the skutter as it brings him his drink and food. Knocking back the coffee mug he drains half of it in one long chug. He shakes his head after wards, sticking out his tongue and blowing to cool the burning, but at least he's awake now.

From the kitchen, shouting in chinese can be heard, which prompts Kyoko to roll her eyes. She looks towards the source of the din, shouting back in chinese, before storming back into the kitchen, where the shouting can still be heard, just less on the volume.

Devi rolls a shoulder in a shrug as Kyoko storms off to deal with whatever happened in there. She takes a minute to rest against the back of the booth, looking around the establishment and those in it.

Wolfe picks up a piece of bacon, munching on it as he stares off blankly for a moment or two. "How ya' been?" If it indicates anything strange, his New York accent is actually coming through ever so slightly, something he normally keeps under wraps.

Devi says, "Better and worse, I suppose, depending on which view you take. And how have you held up in spite of the rash of insanity that was smeared about?"

"I'm alive." Wolfe offers a weak smile at that. "Which when it comes right down to it is what matters, right? I get these headaches and odd dreams, but nothing I can't handle."

Devi nods slightly, her eyes traveling back to him. "And everyone else inside that head of yours? All under wraps, or at least functionaling normally?" While she may not know much about him, she at least has a vague idea about whats in his head, and how much one thing is strapped to the silent table.

Wolfe nods "Furfur's fine. The uppity one..." He trails off on that, shaking his head once more. "Anyway. It's all good, at least every thing is returning to some semblance of normality."

Devi asks, "Everything is slowly reverting to how it is supposed to be. Good." She looks back out the window, watching the few people that ventured out go about their lives. "How well off is everyone else that was in the last fight? I havn't been able to get in contact with them, and I want to make sure that everyone had minamul lasting damage." Whoa, she's actually worried about the other people?

Wolfe says, "Uh, Xue and Samantha were fine. We were holed up in here once shit started going crazy. Anyone else, I'm not too sure about." He finishes the strip of back and picks up another one.

Devi nods again, draining her coke and gathering her things. "Glad to hear it." She head towards the door. "You should get some rest."
