Referred to as 'the Arena' by citizens of Twisted, the center of the Town Hall is a large sandy area surrounded by tall pillars which hold up the angled celing overhead. The arena area is actually about ten feet lower than the rest of the building with a stone walkway beneath the pillars allowing people to stand and look down at whatever events may be hosted at the time. From the North and South are stone steps leading to the two main entrances of the building. The one to the South leads back to the main street of Twisted, the one to the North leads to the TASK building.
Often times people have asked why such a parthenon-looking structure would be named the Town Hall, at which point Senior Diablo would simply smile and walk away leaving it to the imagination. Hanging from the pillars are colorful banners representing the season, viewable only from the inside of the building.
An interesting feature of the building is that the area around the sandy arena is somehow protected against attacks. Meaning if a fight where to break out in the arena itself, anyone standing along the walkways would be completely safe should the fight get out of control. Because of this seeing people wildly testing their abilities here is not uncommon.
The sand crunches under his feet softly as Senior Diablo steps into the main part of the 'Town Hall' parthenon. The demon seems paler than usual as he walks in, putting all of his weight onto his cane. His voice is cearly strained as he calls out, "Gegoshi? We have something to discuss..." In his mind he replays the conversation he's just had with Cale Satanas. The last part of their agreement echoing in his head and filling him with worry.
Gegoshi bubbles out of a wall that ripples like water as she removes her body from it. She pours down to the floor and molds herself up into her body, which then colors itself in. Her clothing flows out around her, forming a beautiful wedding dress with puffy sleeves, a veil, and a train that is still stuck into the wall. She drops her head and peers out under her eyelashes from beneath her veil and smiles, "I'm ready."
Despite everything on his mind, the devil manages to pause long enough to raise an eyebrow at the Synth before dismissing her attire with a shake of his head. He's mostly given up trying to argue with her about his lack of desire to treat her as potential mate. It's just not worth the headache.
"Something called me out to the End of Time," The timegate 'hub' on Chronos for those with short memories, "and there I encountered Cale Satanas. Apparently he wanted to finally take me up on my plan to build a stable portal between our world and his." Almost sweating from nervousness, he waits a moment for Gegoshi's expected comment before continuing, "I struck a DEAL with him. A /DEAL/. Deals with devils are binding. They cannot be broken." He rubs his palms together nervously. "I think I've granted him equal power to myself while he's on Twisted."
He eyes the Synth carefully before asking the question burning in his mind first and formost. "Does this alter our arangement, Gegoshi?" It's clear he's almost scared of this possiblity, but after all he'd gone though to 'claim' Gegoshi and Twisted he has a lot at stake.
Gegoshi's dress turns into silvery liquid goo, rippling around her body and flooding out into a black pleated skirt with lightning striking across it. A matching black top follows suit. The patterns are active with lightning striking about her rather than staying inanimate. She brings a finger to her lips, tapping it as she ponders Diablo's words over. "It is dependable upon two variable: What does Cale Satanas plan to do with his power and what did you receive for compensation?"
Reguarding her outfit change with a inqusitive raised eyebrow, Senior Diablo ponders her words a moment before speaking again. "...nothing, I believe. I doubt he even realized he would be effected. He seemed genuine about wanting to maintain the stabilitiy between our worlds. Cale Satanas is nothing if not direct." The demon pauses to smirk, "Besdies, I am the one required to be deceptive, not him."
After letting his words hang in the air a moment, Diablo continues. "My worry is simple, dear Gegoshi. The idea of loosing you or Twisted over his addendum about equality frightens me." Stepping towards the Synth, he places a single fingertip below her chin and directs her head upwards so that he looks into her eyes. "I can't bear the thought of loosing either of you." He smiles a wicked smile as he knowingly gives a mixed signal to the girl.
As soon as he steps away though, his shaken state returns. Clearly there is a defined line between his acting and his actual. "Where we go from this point forwards is entirely up to you. Again, I need to know where you stand on this..."
Gegoshi processes the information over as she stares back into Diablo's eyes. The pattern on her clothing changes to a solid blue, the lightning disappearing into the other colors depths. "This does not alter the contract that is currently in effect. We are A-O-K." The synth smiles and clasps her hands in front of her, "You look nervous, would you like a massage?" She giggles as her hair ties itself up into a tight bun, a pair of chopsticks forming in the middle to keep it in place.
Diablo takes a moment to close his eyes and exhale deeply as the Synth reassures him. Even with his eyes closed, one eyebrow arches at the question before his eyelids reopen to behold yet another transformation. "Probably because I can change shape as well, I have to say sometimes just watching you is exhausting." The demon simply shakes his head, "...and no. No, thank you."
With his sense of pride partially restored, Senior Diablo stands a bit taller as he begins to pace in a circle around the girl and speak. "Alright, since I no longer have to prepare for the worst I have a few things we need to start work on. The sooner the better. First, I feel it's time we restored TASK. With the new revised need for gates connecting to Twisted, we'll need a group to be involved with the process and maintain the level of control needed to keep things from going overboard."
He pauses briefly in his dictation to look back at Gegoshi to watch her expression, "Can we join all the portals in a central location without it causing too much of a strain? I'd imagine something like a spire going up into the sky with actual gates rather than allowing every random object to act as a portal. We can do that, right?" Hopefully we can, or this typist has wasted effort descing a building in advance.
Listening to Gegoshi's eventual response, Diablo nods his head a moment before interrupting. "You... you have been doing as you wish like I requested, haven't you? I haven't been too demanding in my requests since things have settled?" There is no sarcasm in his words or false intrest. He's genuinely concerned for the girl. "I'd hate to think I've kept you from doing the very thing our agreement was built upon."
A blue see through screen appears in front of the Synth and little notes appear as Gegoshi gives listening nods to Diablo. Text scrolls across her eyes as she analyzes the question about moving portals, "Twisted is random in its process'. It is possible for this to happen, however the way the new portals will manifest cannot be determined. It will take three weeks, four days, thirteen hours, twenty nine minutes, and ten seconds from the time I start, during which my systems will not be able to manifest themselves." She smiles at his questions of concern for her, "I have wandered the world of Twisted examining and speaking with those I come across attempting to do as I wish, though there are numerous personalities in my characteristic files that desire different things. I have cycled through them and will be able to come to a conclusion within three centuries."
Diablo can't help but smirk at her response to his questions. "Gegoshi, whenever you are yourself you are a positive delight to be around." He begins to pace around her once again as she does her 'math'. "Three weeks is fine. That will give me ample time to find someone to lead TASK and get things started again in that respect..." The demon trails off as he speaks, likely addressing the air more than Gegoshi with that statement. It only takes a moment or two of silence before he resumes talking directly to her again. "I encountered another demon I had long since forgotten about recently and asked her to take over the quaint little coffee shop that found it's way into creation west of the Usual." His eyes find their way towards the Synth as he speaks to gauge her reaction, if any. "I think you might enjoy a chat with her when you have time. If nothing else she is excellent at her craft."
Gegoshi stands there watching Diablo pace back and forth. Her clothing turns silver and flows around her, reverting to her standard Synth outfit complete with wings and halo, "I'll go there now, unless you desire me to begin the reconfiguration process. I will be unable to allocate any process' to social interactions except for text based responses which can be found at any of your local TASK desks. They may at times go offline as well. Here is a current list of TASK agents and whereabouts if they are still living though they will no longer remember having been such." She cups her hand and silvery goo flows up out of it, forming into a G-pad. She offers it over and smiles brightly, "Thank you for choosing to interact with Synth unit 3.0!"
Taking the G-pad, Diablo shakes his head with a frown. "No one is ordering you to go there. I'm simply suggesting something you might enjoy." He takes a moment to really look the girl over as she reverts back to her 'normal' attire. "...and there you go again. Reminding me once again that you're a machine." The demon straightens up, gaining nearly a foot to his height in the process. Looking down at her with a deliberate look of disapproval he mumbles aloud to himself, "One should find their own path. We all have duties, we all have obligations, but that doesn't mean we can't have a life outside of those. You where given the ability to think for yourself and make your own decisions for a reason." He pauses a moment, hoping the words will sink in. "But if you'd rather be no more than the sum of your parts, then by all means. Carry on..."
Unless she does something to stop him or continue the conversation, he'll simply walk away and vanish into the shadows as soon as he is close enough to them. The intent being to leave her alone to ponder his words before she begins her new task.
Gegoshi bounces up and down on her heels, staring back at Diablo. She smiles, "I will attempt to find my soul, thank you for your concern!" She spins in a circle and then melts slowly down into the floor, "I will begin reconfiguring tomorrow at 1300, Usual Restaurant time." It's one of the more stable buildings on Twisted, so going off the clock inside of it is an easy format. That or The Core's galactic time dimensional clock, but no one has access to that except her, so it's not very useful to others. She disappears into the floor!
