The Twisted Street(#1833R)

'Welcome to Twisted' reads a small sign hanging on the side of the Usual Restaurant, a two-story establishment dominating one side of the absolute center of Twisted Street. Opposite of the UR is the start of Park Road, which starts at this section of the Twisted Street. Towering over it is the mutli-story Integra's Arms Apartments. Somehow people are quick to ignore the houses and businesses that line the streets here going off one way and another way. Perhaps it's the mental blinders people put up when it comes to places they can't freely come and go from.

Barely visible in the distance is the edge of a sandstorm marking the beginning of the wastelands. It's harsh edge a direct contrast to the usually calm weather of the city of Twisted. In fact it almost looks like the storm is brushing against a giant bowl covering the main part of the city, and in many ways this is true. Hopefully no one will ever find a way to deactivate the barrier that holds the chaos at bay...

Checking briefly to make sure she has the full away-team kit on hand, Commander Yoiko Hax steps up onto the transporter platform. She's nervous about this and it's her own suggestion. Outside of the ship, a massive black hole is sucking in matter and based on a reading of an experimental probe they're about to beam into it and onto an impossible planet of some kind deep inside of it. 'We can safely travel back and forth' she said. 'I'll come along and make sure of it!' At least someone suggested bringing Lieutenant Galpin along. If they can find some kind of transport, she has no doubts he'll be able to get them back to the ship - transporter lock or not.
Despite that she still grits her teeth as he steps up to the platform beside her. oO(Reminding me about the Prime Directive. ME? I'm the fucking XO!) The Trill woman takes a deep breath and stays silent. He meant well supposedly.
With a 'whoosh' the Captain steps into the room with Doctor Rebane at his side. Yoiko flat out ignores whatever they're talking about. She occupies her thoughts trying to do the mental math of the transporter coordinates she'd gone over moments before. She's sure it'll work. Right? As soon as Captain Munster joins them on the platform the command is given. The lights begin to glow and every fiber of her body begins to tingle as the equipment takes her apart bit by bit and sends her spiraling into that great unknown. Let's see the Enterprise take all the credit this time!

Dante can be wandering down the street at this point. He does that quite often. In fact, he takes it on himself quite often since his little incursion here to 'police' the area, if you will. There can be some dangerous happenings around here, someone's gotta protect those who can't protect themselves, after all. Things don't seem to be very active tonight, though. He covers a yawn and stops briefly, glancing about. "Alright....shit is slow tonight. Well, good excuse to go get wasted at the UR I guess."

Before he can redirect his trek towards the Usual, an ethereal ringing begins to emit around him. A pillar of light starts to glow about a foot before him and billions of tiny dancing lights start to appear in the air, spinning around and forming into the shape of a woman. Quit dreaming, Dante. She appears before him fully dressed in the span of less than five seconds.
Yoiko's eyes dart upwards at the man she's suddenly standing before, startling her enough to yelp as she takes a step backwards and instinctively placing a hand on her concealed phaser. It takes her a moment before she realizes she's the one that nearly dropped on him and with a blush she places a hand on her forehead and sighs, "Oh, jeeze. I'm sorry. That normally doesn't happen." Looking back up again, the woman slowly begins to panic as she realizes she's alone. "Ummm.. Captain?" She glances around. "Lieutenant Galpin?" Nothing but the sounds of the street at night. Raising an eyebrow she sheepishly looks back at Dante. "Ummm... Hi!?"

Dante tilts his head slightly as we get a random, new magical effect. Kind of common 'round here. His eyes widen slightly as she seems to be reaching for a weapon momentarily. His own hands are quietly, slowly moving toward E&I but he pauses when she stands down. He grins just a bit, "Huh. Gotta love this place. Hot chicks materializing outa nowhere ALL the damn time." He takes a step forward and offers a handshake. "Hey there sweetheart. Name's Dante. n.n"

Yoiko must have missed the hot chick comment somewhere in the middle of her moment of panic. She does catch the 'sweetheart' comment but dismisses it. For now. "Yeeah. Yoiko Hax." She takes his offer and shakes his hand. "You haven't happened to see two other people kinda show up around here like I just did?" At least he's not trying to burn her at the stake or something for materializing in front of him.

Dante rubs his chin, looking quizzical. "Well, uh...yeah. I mean, I see people show up kind like you just did ALL the time. This place is kinda like that." Peers around a bit before looking back and offering a shrug. "I don't see anyone else, though."

Yoiko sweatdrops, "All the time? Really?" She stares at him skeptically, isn't this place in a black hole or something? There's no way ships are beaming people in here. Deciding to get her own answers, the Commander flips open the top flap of her tricorder and lets it scan while she gives her communicator a try. There's the sound of several high-pitched chirps and then... Nothing. Silence. "Vesuvius, come in?" She adjusts the dial in the center of the device. "This is Yoiko Hax, come in please." Nothing. Not even static. Yoiko sighs and tucks the communicator back onto the back of her equipment belt. "Well, that's not a good sign."

Dante huhs, looking over the gear, from a polite distance as Yoiko tries to regain her bearings. He chuckles a bit. "I used to like that sci-fi shit when I was a kid. That and action movies were always my thing. I musta watched Die Hard a million times. Ah well. *gestures over at Yoiko* Since your buddies ain't around, wanna go get a drink?" There is ALWAYS time for booze when Dante's around.

The woman ponders this and realizes there's a lot of logic to that statement. The local drinking establishment is usually the best place to get information - and sooner or later when someone comes looking that would be the easiest place to find them. "Y'know what? Sure! Sounds like a plan to me." She takes a moment to stare at the tricorder's readings before snapping the case closed. "Lead the way, my good man!" Once he starts in a direction she'll match his pace but after a minute she has to ask, "What's Die Hard?" This is going to be an interesting experience....
