Town Hall - Arena(#4390R)

Referred to as 'the Arena' by citizens of Twisted, the center of the Town Hall is a large sandy area surrounded by tall pillars which hold up the angled celing overhead. The arena area is actually about ten feet lower than the rest of the building with a stone walkway beneath the pillars allowing people to stand and look down at whatever events may be hosted at the time. From the North and South are stone steps leading to the two main entrances of the building. The one to the South leads back to the main street of Twisted, the one to the North leads to the TASK building.

Often times people have asked why such a parthenon-looking structure would be named the Town Hall, at which point Senor Diablo would simply smile and walk away leaving it to the imagination. Hanging from the pillars are colorful banners representing the season, viewable only from the inside of the building.

An interesting feature of the building is that the area around the sandy arena is somehow protected against attacks. Meaning if a fight where to break out in the arena itself, anyone standing along the walkways would be completely safe should the fight get out of control. Because of this seeing people wildly testing their abilities here is not uncommon.

Dante peers around. Huh. Check THIS shit out. Nifty. Ok, we've got business to attend too...with no booze. Fun. He glances one way, then the other. He offers a short yell, "Hey! Where the hell is everyone? I need to talk to someone in charge." He peers around a bit more...

From behind one of the pillars, beneath a large autumn-themed banner, steps the form of Senor Diablo. One brow is raised as he looks towards Dante, and on recognition a smile creeps across his thin lips. "Ahh, Dante... I've not seen you since the old pervert's tournament a year ago." Has it been a year already? Wait, was he even at the tournament? "So, Son of Sparda, what brings you here today?" As he speaks he's been making his way closer until he is standing a foot or two from him.

Dante turns to address the voice in question. He's got pretty sharp senses, so it's hard to surprise him... He grins just a bit though as SD shows up. He offers a hand to shake. "Yeah. S'been a while. I figured you were a busy man, so I've been trying not to bug ya." Dante is probably very sincere. He continues, "I'm here....to fix a problem. I think it's a problem we both wanna fix, actually."\

Senor Diablo's brow raises once again at the statement, and his smile fades quickly with it. "A problem?" The demon crosses his arms as he leans down to look him in the eyes. The blood-red depths of what passes for his eyes seem to be peering inside Dante's head. There is something noticeably sinister to his voice as he asks, "...and what problem might that be?"

Dante moves his own face a little closer as well. He's not intimidated. He grins a bit wider. "You've got a problem with safety around here. You also don't seem to have a handle on it." He steps back a step and folds his arms. "As I understand it, you're actually interested in protecting this place. I dunno what your ulterior motives are....and I don't care either. I wanna protect this place...and I need your help to do it."

The Devil straightens up, blinking his eyes as he realizes he was reading Dante's intentions wrong. "Um... Oh! Safety. Yes." Even his voice seems to have gone up an octave. "We are implementing TASK as we speak, specifically to serve as a police force rather than a militant force against those from other worlds." He's moved his hands behind his back and has begun to pace around the half-demon. "But if you have a more immediate solution, I would certainly love to hear it."

Dante watches him pace around a bit. He rubs the back of his head. "You're makin' me dizzy." He shrugs and offers an explanation (That ISN'T 'booze', since that's always his answer) "So, yeah. I've got an immediate solution. Lemme build an office. I've got some help...we're developing a plan to keep an eye on the main population and common portals. We think we can cover the whole area."

Senor Diablo stops the moment Dante complains about his pacing and looks to him apologetically. "Sorry, it's a habit I've picked up recently." As he listens to the man's plans he plucks a wine glass out of the air and sips from it. Once he finishes, Diablo suddenly pulls out a bottle of wine with his other hand and offers it over. It reads on the label 'Quinta do Noval Nacional Vintage Port, 1955'. "That sounds like an excellent plan. I should warn you that during the New Year's celebration we'll be opening the road to another city. I don't know if that will affect your plans, but it seems too important not to share."

Dante huhs. He takes the bottle and peers at it. "This looks kinda expensive for booze..." He shrugs, chugs straight from the bottle. He's a very couth individual. He looks content at that one and nods back over to SD. "Alright, gotcha. That place have it's own security?" He ponders...nods. "We'll watch the pipeline from the new road too. No problem. I've got a VERY smart secretary helping me with this..."

The Devil hmm's at the statement about the cost. "I'll be honest I have no idea where those come from." He takes another sip from his glass and let's go of it. Instead of shattering it just vanishes back to wherever it came from. "Ever since I came to Twisted originally I've been able to do that." He frowns distastefully. "Useless talent, but it keeps my hands busy." A sly grin crosses his lips, "...idle hands being the Devil's Playground or something of that affect." He ponders Dante's words a moment and nods, "Well I'm told TASK will be ready at approximately the same time, so it shouldn't be much of a problem. It won't be inside the barrier that protects Twisted, however. We'll just have to see what comes of it." He frowns momentarily, his gaze drifting off to the side and loosing focus. "Assuming Nancy finishes her project and doesn't leave it half complete..." With a brief shake of his head, the Devil returns his stare back at Dante. "What resources would you need to get started?"

Dante rubs his chin....pondering. "I gotta get a materials list together and all that shit. I think Ren's going to be handling THAT side of it..." He peers over at SD looking possibly a TAD confused, but he's trying here. "I'll need... ... Hey, you know what I need? I need a building near the center of town. I'll work out the details later. Got anything for me?"

With a laugh Diablo nods his head and places a hand on Dante's shoulder. "This is Twisted and we have the power of Gegoshi on our side." He removes his hand and once more crosses them behind his back. "There's an empty building or two near the Usual Restaurant, and plenty of room North of that near the High School and Nowhereto Park." He winces as speaks the name out loud. "...I can't stand the childish humor of that name." Letting out a brief sigh he carries on. "Choose a location, let Gegoshi know - even if it's via one of her kiosks, and we'll see to it that it's taken care of."

Dante grins a bit, nods. He's got no issue with the hand on the shoulder or anything. We're on the same page here now, after all. He nods. "Alright. I'll scope the area out, get with Ren and figure out where we're gonna build."

Senor Diablo nods his head and offers his hand to shake. If he accepts it, Dante will feel a faint tingle at first and the demon's red eyes will turn silver for the briefest moment. "Very well. Let me know if you need anything else. If it benefits the people of Twisted I'm willing dedicate any resources I can." Unless there is something else he'll start making his way back behind the pillar he first appeared at...

Dante shakes the offered hand. He blinks once as he's noticed the slight...tinge. Ah well. Probably nothing! Dante then nods. "Alright. Thanks. That'll help out a shit-ton. Ok....I'll get with Ren and we'll see what we need to setup." Dante 'lets' SD go at that point. He doesn't have anything else to cover.

With his back already to Dante, Diablo suddenly pauses and asks, "One thing, though. If you happen to see my 'apprentice' whom you fought last year? Don't tell her you spoke with me. The less she knows at the moment, the better." Leaving his cryptic words hanging, he continues walking again only briefly turning back with a smile and nod. "Until next time." ...and he just walks behind the pillar. Of course it's a clever way for him to vanish without giving a clue how he's coming or going, but considering who he is and what he represents? That might be a good thing. Dante is left alone with the slightest hint of brimstone hanging in the air.
