The Twisted Street

"Welcome to Twisted" reads a small sign hanging on the side of the Usual Restaurant, a two-story establishment dominating one side of the absolute center of Twisted Street. Opposite of the UR is the start of Park Road, which starts at this section of the Twisted Street. Towering over it is the mutli-story Integra's Arms Apartments. Somehow people are quick to ignore the houses and businesses that line the streets here going off one way and another way. Perhaps it's the mental blinders people put up when it comes to places they can't freely come and go from.

Barely visible in the distance is the edge of a sandstorm marking the beginning of the wastelands. It's harsh edge a direct contrast to the usually calm weather of the city of Twisted. In fact it almost looks like the storm is brushing against a giant bowl covering the main part of the city, and in many ways this is true. Hopefully no one will ever find a way to deactivate the barrier that holds the chaos at bay...

Devi was sitting on the rooftop of the Integra Arm's and had been for nearly three days. She'd just gotten back from another adventure, but this one had stolen something far too precious to be brushed off or locked down inside her soul. It echoed in the numb blank look that was etched into her face and the dimmer green eyes that watched the flairing blue jacket come out from the Hotel. Standing up, Devi flared her own black leather and jumped. She landed nearby the man, denting the concrete with a resounding crack before pushing effortlessly to her feet. Who said surprise and showmanship wasn't still alive.

Vergil appered out of nothingness. Which by nothingness means stubled out of the Apartment building. He felt like he had slept a number of years. Running a hand through his hair he looked around the street, not quite sure what he was after anymore. His books had distracted him long enough he felt the need to explore.

Dante just kind of wanders down the street. That's right, YOU two can hog the glory and the fancy appearances. For once, Dante's just strolling. As he walks into view, he's able to better asses what he's facing at the moment. Offering a wide grin at Devi's approach, he delivers short hand-clap to 'voice' his approval. Noticing his brother there as well, he spreads his arms out wide to the two of them. "Two of my favorite people in the world! How's it goin'?"

Vergil was still a little spaced so when the flash of black leather and cracking concrete brought forth the automatic reflex to quickly withdraw Yamato, twirling the blade as he turned to face Devi. His face fell a moment, he was not expecting the girl. Granted he wasn't sure what he was expecting to be honest. Hearing Dante's voice he lowered the sword and rolled his eyes. "..." He said nothing but gave Dante a short look before looking back to Devi. Sure, he lowered Yamato but he didn't put it away yet.

Vergil's sword was given a withering and daring look that slide up the blade til it found Vergil's face. Today wasn't the day - This week wasn't the week to test her temper control. She looked over at Dante, hands sliding into her pockets. She could almost remember his number too. "Your worlds gotta be pretty small then. How's it hanging Dante?" She looked back to Vergil. "Twin Terrors on the street?"

Dante rolls his eyes at his brother. "Bro, one of these days you HAVE to see a gyno get your ovaries removed. These monthlies of yours are just too much ta handle." He grins back over at Devi. "Large and to the left. How about you? The twin thing work for ya? I'm sure we could all find a room somewhere..."

Vergil Stepped back and gave Devi, a nod, opps. Sorry. But he didn't sheath yamato. Nope he shifted and stabbed quickly towards Dante's stomach. "You test me too much." Yeah, someone didn't like that comment, bro.

Devi's eyebrows rose loftily. "Sorry, I've only got the taste for Romans at the moment. And hard liqour. How's the street treating you guys? Nothing crazy go on while I was gone?"

Dante looks disappointed for just a moment there, although he couldn't have seriously thought she'd go for it...before he can say much ELSE on the matter, he's stabbed at. He manages to step back at the last second, bringing Ebony out to deflect Yamato to the side. While leaving Ebony 'attached' at the block point, he tries to swing the conglomeration back the other way so he can try to line his firearm up with Vergil's face. If successful, he won't fire, however.

He figured Dante would stop if he didnt want to end up with a new belly peicing for a few seconds. Things go as Dante wanted, so the shots lined up, but mostly becuase it's clear Vergil's not really trying. He's got sleep lines and doesn't have his heart in a battle right now. He had meant to go on a caffine run. "You mean Italian's?" He asked in almost a judging tone before nodding his her Dante's wide. "This is the one to help with drinking." YEP, he considers his twin a drunk. No love.

Devi says, "No, I mean Romans. Who were Roman before Italian," she snaps back shortly. The Immortal was a specific breed of Italian and Devi would keep to his older titles. He was her Roman. She watched the boys play, taking a step back so as to not even come close to risking getting in between their play fighting. "What, one of you imbibes and one doesn't? Don't tell me one of you wipes your ass one way and the other the other just for balence.""

Dante huhs. He lowers his firearm because he, just like Vergil, was 'playing' with the whole situation. He snorts. "Bro, you look horrible. Get some soda in your or SOMETHING. Geez." That seems to be the end of that in his mind. He gunslinger twirls Ebony before reholstering it. He glances over at Devi. "You assume we shit out of anything but our mouths. This guy wouldn't know a good drunken stupor if he was introduced to ass shots, so if you wanna go drinkin'...I'm your dude."

Vergil wrinkled his nose a bit at Dante. "Always so vulgar." He grumbled stepping to the side to slip Yamato back away. "I have not seen a roman around these parts." He returned the conversation to Devi with a slight shrug. He didn't digifuy a responce, how one wipes is deeply personal.

Devi says, "He's got a throat, he can drink. Hey, Bluebell." Yeah, you Vergil. You pretty pansy flower. "Ever had a strawberry Italian soda? The UR makes a killer one. You can sip your milk while the adults have something a little harder." Her eyes swung to Dante. "Unless you and your liver wanna stay here.""

Dante collapses against a nearby chunk of wall, laughing. "GOD. Seriously Devs, you wanna get married or something? I can see a lot of me in you. ... Many times in one night in fact." He grins at that one and reaches up to pat Devi on the shoulder. "I'll even spring for the drinks."

Vergil resists the urge to react and either curse or try to smack Devi for the insult. Mostly because it would lead to a battle and he just wasn't up to it tonight. Looking from Dante to the woman, he pondered walking away. Namely after such a bad line from his brother. "Do not call me such things." he muttered before adding. "I hate strawberry. and I will not take such insult, I could drink if I wanted." He didn't really, he just wanted to get under Dante's skin. He was going to hate himself in a few hours. "So, let us be on our way." Sure he would drink, likely puke it back up in a little while too.

She was looking to pick a fight. Being isolated kept her quiet and thoughtful and depressed, but as soon as she hit real people, that depression started its shift into anger that rarely had any good sense. Devi looked over at Dante, but there wasn't a fraction of room in her that had space for producing laughter right now. "You're a gentleman for paying." Stepping forward and out from under Dante's hand, Devi talks over her shoulder at Vergil as she leads them towards the UR. "They've got other flavors and if you're working a pole after three beers, I'm out. That's some Middle School bullshit." She looked forward and with no warning, blasted the double doors off the place, striding in through the smoke with a dangerous look in her eyes. "Is Bob and Pinkey still around?

Dante huhs. He glances over at Vergil and grins, shaking his hand as if to say 'Whoo, hot.'. He follows after Devs at that point. "That's me, honey. The most gentile of all gentlemen. Fucking Martha Stewart RIGHT here. That lady is a total gentleman." He wonders, as they stroll in (as the scene shifts), "So, does that mean a pole dance is OUT of the question? Or..."

The Usual Restaurant You walk into a very large restaurant with high ceilings that leave the rafters exposed. Fluorescent lamps hang from the ceiling, adding light to the floor and tables. Windows adorn the sides of the place, looking out onto the chaos that is Twisted. On some of the walls are paintings, photographs, and holograms of different movies, and a number of people who tend to visit the UR - caught as they're singing karaoke. The hardwood bar rests at the back of the restaurant, surface polished and shiny and all- together spotless (most of the time). Behind the bar are the various beverages that are serveed, and a giant mirror. There seem to be an inordinate amount of different drinks. A large stage rests in one of the corners of the restaurant, with an amazing sound system and a few microphones strung around it. Multiple round wooden tables are in the room, and a swing door leads into the kitchen. Another door leads to the dance club, and another to the gym. And of course, there's an exit. A large fireplace nestles in one of the walls, with a beautiful stone chimney that flows up and out. A long spiral staircase rests near the entrance to the kitchen, leading to a second-floor balcony that overlooks the UR itself. The lights up there are a bit dimmer than those down below.

Vergil rolls his eyes again. He couldn't for the life of him figure out why he was going along with this. Maybe it was cabin fever. Following behind Devil and Dante he resisted the urge to punch Dante in the back of the head. It would do no good to do that just yet. Again not digifying a responce, now he had to drink to prove a point. He hopes that the dark forces granted him but one wish, no vodka.

Devi says, "You can dance if you want to, just don't expect any raving reviews or bills." She slid one leg over the first barstool she came across and slapped her hand down on the table. "BARTENDER. Sake... and a strawberry Italian soda." The bartender, who'd cowered down behind the bar, tray gripped in white knuckled hands being held over his head as though it would save him from whatever had burst so rudly in but though rain, sleet, or imminent danger, he had to tend the bar. After a moment, the slender shortish man rose, pale and nervous. "R-r-right away.""

Dante snickers. Eh, let Devs vent. She isn't hurting anyone, as of yet. He'll worry about it if it gets that far. He plops down next to her, if he can. "If you aren't planning to stick at least a 20 in my thong, I ain't gonna bother."

Vergil made a disgusted face. Even if they have the same body, he so did not need that view. "Dante, to much." He waved a hand He took a seat a few stools down. "Dante, what is something high in caffiene?" Yeah, he'll give the Soda a try, but he wanted something else with it too. And if its on Dante's dime, why not?

Devi says, "You're assuming I've got any cash at all. All my shits on tabs. Unless you wanna open one for me.." The bartender slid Devi her drinks and she thanked him with an aprupt nod as she overturned her sake cup and pushed it back. She didn't need a cup."

Dante ehs, shrugging. "S'on my dime for today, so don't worry about tabs. Barkeep, be a dear and get me my usual (HA) would ya? (That would be about 12 beers to start with...and a pizza normally)" He glances back over at his brother, "High in caffeine? Eh, ya know. Normal shit. Soda, coffee...don't you drink ANYTHING other than water?" He nods back over at the bartender. "Get my brother a 6-pack of whatever caffeinated soda's you have on hand and a pot of coffee, too. Thanks."

Vergil rolled his eyes some at his brother. "I drink tea, and sometimes coffee." Coffee was likely what he needed to shake the tired feeling that just would not be shaken. He looked to the barkeep as the soda was ptu before him with a judging look. "A glass." His tone was uterly displeased. Not about to drink out of a can. Once the glass was before him he cracked open one of the sodas and started to pour it into the glass as if it was revolting.

Devi shifted her eyes over at the distain. "Really, princess?" It was her turn to judge him. She looked over to Dante. "Are you Sure you're related to him? Really?" They were so vastly different on the surface. Twins indeed.
