The Twisted Street(#1833RL)
'Welcome to Twisted' reads a small sign hanging on the side of the Usual Restaurant, a two-story establishment dominating one side of the absolute center of Twisted Street. Opposite of the UR is the start of Park Road, which starts at this section of the Twisted Street. Towering over it is the mutli-story Integra's Arms Apartments. Somehow people are quick to ignore the houses and businesses that line the streets here going off one way and another way. Perhaps it's the mental blinders people put up when it comes to places they can't freely come and go from.
Barely visible in the distance is the edge of a sandstorm marking the beginning of the wastelands. It's harsh edge a direct contrast to the usually calm weather of the city of Twisted. In fact it almost looks like the storm is brushing against a giant bowl covering the main part of the city, and in many ways this is true. Hopefully no one will ever find a way to deactivate the barrier that holds the chaos at bay...

Seth a figure came swaggering down the street from way of the beach, with his hands shoved in the pockets of his strange steam punk looking suit jacket which happened to be covered in dust. His redish orange hair was spilling from under a crooked top hat. He was humming a strange tune as he walked. He knew where he was heading. It was snack time~!

Zelgadis is currently leaning up against the wall of the UR. Sure, they don't LOVE when he does that instead of going inside and offering some kind of business...but, he's one of the good guys so I guess they tolerate it. His arms folded, hood covering most of his face. Brood, brood, red eye glint, brood. You know how he does his thing. He pays attention to the young man strolling down the street. I mean, you know, he's there...and moving, so Zel pays attention. Doesn't say anything, of course. He rarely speaks first.

With an audible 'THWIP' sound effect a red and pink blur dashes from rooftop to rooftop, finally coming to a stop directly in front of Zelgadis. Abruptly coming into focus reveals it to be one of the three armor-clad felines who once prominently featured across Twisted as the owners and operators of the Pizza Cats Pizza Emporium. Adjusting the pink visor on her red helmet (there's a pattern here) Polly's eyes narrow. "How the HECK do we lose a giant gun-shaped building in the middle of Twisted??" Oh yeah, that used to be a thing, didn't it?

That certainly got his attention, and ceased the humming. The blurs of color stopping brought his attention to Zelgadis and then the speaking creatures. Seth strolled on over because surely something exciting was happening. "A gunshapped building?" He questioned, to interject himself in, plus that was interesting.

Zelgadis hms. He watches the events unfold with a bit of a wide eyed look, although nothing around here is TERRIBLY surprising anymore. It IS Twisted. He offers Polly a weak shrug. "I..couldn't say. This IS Twisted, after all." He might go on, but Seth has decided to join the party. He offers the same weak shrug in reply but doesn't seem to have any more to say on the matter.

Polly Esther abruptly turns her head to the two people paused beside her and shakes her head. "You don't understand!! It was there, and then POOF! Gone! Fog and smoke everywhere!" She flails her hands around as she elaborates. "Next thing we know the entire Mabase district suddenly looks like a roman cathedral or somethin'!" The cat crosses her arms and sighs. "I'd just come up with a new recipe for a brand new pizza too."

Zelgadis rubs his chin, offers a...shrug? Yeah, these things really DO happen here in Twisted. He peers over at Seth, listening...but, not following the conversation well. "I confess that I don't know what pizza IS, although I keep hearing about it." Something seems to come to him and although he may be barking up the wrong tree, he tries to make sense of it. Looking back at Polly, he quirks an eyebrow. "Fog and smoke? Or just fog? Did you hear anything at the time?..."

Polly Esther suddenly looks like someone shot her pet. "YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT A PIZZA IS?!?" Without hesitation she barges into the doors of the UR screaming at the top of her lungs, "KITCHEN EMERGENCY! I have to confiscate your ovens!!" Two skutters stop with a deer-in-the-headlights look before the kitchen doors as she skates in on hover shoes. Suddenly pulling an ID card out of somewhere she flashes it and informs them, "Local 294, guys! I have jurisdiction!" ...and they let her through? What's with the local merchants anyways?

Seth turned on his heals shrugged and let out a bit of a chuckle. "Well, coming then?" He didn't seem to care that he had no idea who these people were he was just a bit easy going. "Pizza is amazing when made right." He offered heading into the UR after Polly, though he stopped at the counter.

Zelgadis blinks once. Well, THAT was...it was...well, it was. He offers Seth a shrug, he's good at those...he must have a RIPPED back, and laughs JUST a little. "Alright. I'm convinced." He pushes off the wall and resigns himself to following the two inside. At least he's not bored!

The Usual Restaurant(#1836R)
You walk into a very large restaurant with high ceilings that leave the rafters exposed. Fluorescent lamps hang from the ceiling, adding light to the floor and tables. Windows adorn the sides of the place, looking out onto the chaos that is Twisted. On some of the walls are paintings, photographs, and holograms of different movies, and a number of people who tend to visit the UR - caught as they're singing karaoke. The hardwood bar rests at the back of the restaurant, surface polished and shiny and all-together spotless (most of the time). Behind the bar are the various beverages that are serveed, and a giant mirror. There seem to be an inordinate amount of different drinks. A large stage rests in one of the corners of the restaurant, with an amazing sound system and a few microphones strung around it. Multiple round wooden tables are in the room, and a swing door leads into the kitchen. Another door leads to the dance club, and another to the gym. And of course, there's an exit. A large fireplace nestles in one of the walls, with a beautiful stone chimney that flows up and out. A long spiral staircase rests near the entrance to the kitchen, leading to a second-floor balcony that overlooks the UR itself. The lights up there are a bit dimmer than those down below.

Seth taking a seat on one of the stools he looked back when Zel came in. "What kind of place are you from?" He had to question a world that did not have pizza... and yet how his own did didn't make much sense but he didn't question it much. These things happen.

The sounds of banging pots and singing seem to come out of the kitchen. A few skutters retreat from the back. Nothing unusual, right?

Zelgadis wanders in behind Seth, then. He sits next to him on an appropriate stool, as would be polite, and brushes his hood back. Yeah, he's a rock. Don't take him for granite! It's a stones throw away whe-OK I'M SORRY. Moving on. He chuckles a little. "Well, certainly not this one. There MAY have been....pizza? In it somewhere. It was a big place. Much more...old fashion than some worlds."

Seth shockingly doesn't look put off by the rock look, more curious than anything. "Nothing wrong with old fashioned worlds. And soon you'll have your first try of Pizza if the strange cat lady returns with one." He offered.

Zelgadis mms. He nods to that. Sure, we can try this. Hang around Lina and Gourry long enough, you'll try EVERYTHING. He orders a sake in the meantime, whenever he can flag down the bartender...or a skutter. He's not a booze-hound like Dante is, but...he enjoys his sake. Didn't have that where he was from either, in so many words.

When the convenient skutter came by Seth ordered Mead as well, he just smiled a bit, amused at the whole situation of the day. He didn't even have to be here, he just wanted to be. "I never have asked your name." he finally remembered, opps.

Before Zelgadis can respond to Seth the doors of the kitchen burst open and Polly, now wearing a fancy white apron with a paw print on the front of it (over her armor, of course) wields a giant spatula-like peel large enough to make Ukyo proud. Slamming the massive kitchen utensil on the counter reveals the strangest looking pizza to ever give forth a heavenly aroma. "HERE YOU GO! A triple banana-chocolate-anchovy-peanut butter SURPRISE with extra tomatoes and fresh ground eel!!" Yeah, I feel ill just typing that. "It's one of our specialties!!" It does smell good, at least. We'll assume for the sake of continuity that it'll taste like whatever your favorite type of pizza actually is. They did sell a lot of these somehow.

While the inventor just recoils like Freddy Kruger just popped out of the kitchen. HE KNOWS THOSE FLAVORS AND THEY DO NOT MIX. It smells amazing yes, but his logic says bail the fuck out.

Polly Esther beams proudly at Zel's response but her gaze darkens considerably when she spies Seth backing away. "HEY BUB, that's a $35 pizza you're neglecting!" The air seems to grow colder, the colors fade from sight except for the angry blueish red that Polly has changed to and... Is that a spotlight shining down on the pizza? The world seems to darken considerably as the spotlight grows brighter.... brighter... and the world is back to normal. The armored kitten laughs, "Well, FINE. Suit yourself. Humans and your insistance on," <airquotes> "NORMAL" </airquotes> "toppings." Somehow she pulls a smaller pizza out of nowhere and throws it at Seth like a weapon. It has peperoni on it. "My work here is done!" She poses dramatically and throws the apron off somehow in a single motion that involves smacking a skutter with it.

Zelgadis claps softly in the background. Getting back to the foreground (GOLFBALLS ANYONE-I'm sorry) he tilts his head at Seth. "Actually, it's quite good. Traveling with the companions I had, it became necessary t-..." He trails off as Seth is now having to battle a wild pizza. Hope he brought his pokeballs. (I could make an obvious joke here, but I'll take the high road and mention that Greg Louganis was often hairless) He shrugs a bit and watches instead. o.o;

Seth was no athlete, he was no warrior, he was SO not prepared for this battle. Thus his white shirt now matches his red hair, and in the flailing his top hat feel off to let the rest of the flame colored hair fall out. His hair isn't long it just really looks like fire. He pulled what was not ruined off the pizza off him and sat it down. He's poor here so he totally peels a peperoni off his shirt and eats it. trying to ignore the fact he was dusty as hell when he walked in.

Polly Esther winces slightly as the pizza becomes a facial. "Oops, sorry about that guy. When we reopen shop I'll give you the money for the dry cleaning - or a pizza on the house if you like." She eyes the door wondering how fast she should make a break for it. "Just remember if you like the food, Samurai Pizza Cats are the ones to choose! Please don't sue us and we'll make your day, a piping hot pizza so you can be on your way!" She laughs nervously, rubbing the back of her head. "Who says Francine is the only one of us who can rhyme?"

Zelgadis peers over at Seth, back at Polly, up at the sky, then down at the ground while shaking his head. He rises slowly to his feet, bows to all present...and heads for the door, waving over his shoulder. "Insert witty exit statement here, if you would." He can't always be bothered. He ISN'T Dante, after all.

Seth suprizingly just chuckled some lifting a slice. "I'm not mad, but I do need to go get this soaking before the stains set in. This is my last non-burned shirt." He headed for the door with the single peice he took. "Thanks." And away he goes back to the shack

Polly Esther lets out a sigh of relief when Seth turns and leaves. "Oh thank heavens I don't have to pay for that shirt." That comment about burned clothing makes her hum. With a slight frown she shakes her head and then glides out the door herself. "Anyways, OFF TO FIND THE PIZZARIA!!"
