Devil May Cry(#3063RJ)

From the inescapable darkness of the entrance to a fairly brightly lit room, your eyes most likely take a moment to adjust. Or not. Who the heck am I to tell you what your eyes are doing? I'm just a stupid narration. The paint scheme in here is a messy, splotchy mix of black and red. It looks as though the original paint was all black and perhaps someone decided to 'art' the place up a tad with some red highlights. It doesn't do much for the decor, to tell you the truth. A single pane of windows lie on either side of a very plain looking brown desk in the middle of the room. Yeah, nothing special about it. It's a desk. Cope. A non-descript black office chair lies just behind that desk. Nothing special about it either. There seems to be a theme here. - Off to one side is what appears to be a secretaries desk, which may or may not be manned. A single workstation with an LCD monitor and attached keyboard seems to be the only thing adorning the desk usually, although whomever is currently playing the role might very well spruce it up. - In the back of the room are a set of stairs that lead upward to another section of the building.

Looking really out of place, a set of metal doors have been added to the wall behind the desk. They don't seem to have any obvious way of opening. Strange...

Without knocking this time, Vergil made his way inside of Devil May Cry. Hoping it was quieter today, he didn't feel like dealing with the crowd as he had last time. Today, he was without his blue jacket, his vest shirt had a slice across his side where something had gotten him but clearly didn't kill him. Of all things.... he had a pizza, from Samurai Pizza Cats no less, in one hand and Yamato, as always, in the other. He moved over to Dante's desk, dropping the box down on the desk. He froze seeing Eva's picture, reaching over quickly to turn it down. He didn't care for a reminder of his failures. He was good enough without it. The picture of Trish accidently knocked off the desk. Fuck that replica.

Dante covers a yawn as he wanders downstairs. Did he know Vergil was here? Nah. ... Maybe? He probably smelled pizza! He peers over at Vergil, offering a grin and a wave. "Heya bro. What's up? I see ya brought pizza...so you're automatically my favorite person today." He wanders over to his desk and flops into his usual seat, tapping the side of said desk with a shoe. Trish's picture floats back into place and mom's picture turns back up. "Don't fuck with my pictures though, ok?" He sounded a bit more serious with that last part.

Vergil crossed his arms as he walked away from the desk to just look over the weapons on the wall while Dante sat and spoke. "Anyone who feeds you is for favorite person." he replied, as close to a joke as he would likely give at times. "Whatever, I don't care to see them if it is all the same." He rarely asked for much, he figured it was not to much. "Please put them down until I go."

Dante snorts but says nothing to dispute that probable factoid. He peers at Vergil silently, for just a moment...before offering a sigh. He then nods. "Alright, fine." He sets both pictures down, face first. He folds his arms. "So, just comin' by to chow down and shoot the shit or is there some greater cause goin' on here? Thinking about joining up, maybe? We could seriously use a handsome dude like you. You can take all the hotties I miss." *grin*

Vergil shook his head some, finally moving to stand at the side of his brothers desk, folding his arms over his chest, there was a bit of dried blood on his left forearm but if he had been hurt it had long since healed. "Thank you." he could have manners, he just didn't often see a reason to show that to his brother. "No, the whole pizza is yours. Consider it an apologie for leaving so swiftly last time." he explained. "And no, I have no intention of joining your band of merry men. I am not much for team work if you do not recall. I am just here to see you, on my way to the bookstore."

Dante notices the wound, checking it over for a moment. He knows his bro, like him, has a ridiculous healing factor so he's not TOO worried. Still, brother n' all. He hehs, shaking his head. "Too bad. Well, if ya ever change your mind, ya know where to find me. As for an apology...no need, but consider your apology accepted. I just...don't get ta see ya much these days but...I understand. We're all gettin' busy. Thanks for stoppin' in on any account." Yeah, the two of them can be civil. It just all depends. Remember that they WERE very young during DMC3 after all. "Anythin' up at ye olde store of paper shit? None of my business o' course, but..."

Vergil has tried to learn to let the little stuff go, but some parts of him just refuse to let go of the past. To let his failures and loss really be behind him. He always sucked at apologizing but he knows Dante deserves it. He didn't move his arm he just let Dante look from where he was. "I've not been far Dante, and I still am not. It is just to loud for me here. I hate being awake at this time of day but I am so I came out. The bookstore closes at seven most nights anyway." Way too early for his nocturnal self. "Nothing is going on there that I know of, I have just taken interest in some magic books that the owner is not willing to part with. It would be rude if I just killed him."

Dante nods. "S'ok. I understand. I can't help tryin' to recruit ya, ya know? I know what you can do and I'd LOVE to have that on my time. I'll take all those ' no's ' in stride though." He blinks at that last part, laughing a bit. "Yeah. Kinda rude, that. I'd have ta arrest ya, too....so please, no killin'. What kinda books we talkin' about? Anything good?" He's not the occult specialist Vergil is. He picks up a few things here n' there though.

The world was going to end, Vergil smiled at that. It was sadly shocking how much he could look like his twin when he just let himself be happy. "If you are ever in enough danger that you fear your life is on the life, then yes. I will help you. I don't see that happening though. You have a lot of strong people here, like your cook. he looks strong." Yes... He thinks Kotal is Dante's personal chef... opps. How did Dante have a chef anyway? "I never said I was not rude." He moved keeping his arms crossed looking over the weapons again. "I will keep that in mind, I fear to think what you would do if I allowed you to get me in cuffs." He certainly was in rare spirits today. "Demonic reincarnation, the basic forbidden knowledges."

Dante laughs! He grins widely, his fangs twinkling in the soft light. "Hey, it's not dirty. It's just masturbation!" Yeah, he's going there with it. Blame the 4chan fanboys/fangirls. He nods at the second half of the conversation...evidently he doesn't mind Vergil thinking that Kots is his chef! "Gotcha. You might find some weird shit around this place. No trying to haul the old temen-ni-gru this way though, kaysies?"

Vergil Smile gone; a disgusted look in place. Good things don't last. "Why do you... nevermind. Eat your pizza, Dante." He shook his head a bit, he didn't care what people dream about twins, wasn't happening. "Trust me when I say, I am past that. I never want to remember that night again as it were. The memory of Arkham's face and grating voice is enough to keep that from happening. No, my views are on other things. Bigger plans brother, bigger plans."

Dante just keeps on grinning. He can't help it, bro n.- He nods. "I mean, damn thing's just a husk now anyway...I just don't want to deal with the cleanup. ... I gotta admit, taking that sorry sack of shit out with ya WAS pretty fun. He totally deserved it." He trails off...sighing softly. "We shouldn't have had ta fight after that. It didn't have ta be that way. I hope...I hope we're past that shit, bro."

Vergil stands silently a moment just looking at whatever weapons caught his eye. "It wasn't supposed to end like that. I was played a fool as much as you and her. I was young and stupid and its cost me more than enough. Either way, it is the past and I hold no ill will against you anymore." He finally looked over, his face void of any real feeling. "Spend a few years with Mundus, you learn such petty things don't matter." he looked back to the weapon. "I still want to get my hands on Force Edge aside from that, I have no reason to cross you at this point."

Dante winces, frowning a bit. He actually looks a tad ashamed. "I'm....sorry you had to deal with Mundus. I was...afraid I had really...killed you the last time. I got depressed for a LONG fucking time after that shit...." He shakes his head. "I almost wish that fucker WOULD come back while I was still around. I'd love to kick his ass again. -.-" He finally notices Vergil checking out the old Force Edge...which can be Sparda. He rubs his chin. DOES he truly trust his brother now? Things are different but... ... He smiles just a bit. He uses Rebellion and E&I these days...and his old(anime) abilities seem to be coming back. What the hell? "Ok bro. Things ARE different now. You're right. Take it. She's yours. Dad'd want me ta trust ya." Yup. He's handing over the Force Edge. Dante? Impulsive? NAAAAAH.

Excuse him while he stares at Dante, like he just grew a second head. He was not expecting that in the least. He didn't even reach out for it, despite the fact that he did truly want it. After half a moment or so of silence he shook his head. "It should be mine, but I will not just take it from you. I have to earn it." He couldn't just take kindness as it was, even from his brother. Life's shown him nothing is free.

Dante smiles a bit sadly. He didn't think Vergil would fully trust him. He shrugs weakly. "Alright. Well, I'll toss this out there...if ya ever decide ya wanna work with me after all, somehow, it'll be a sign-on bonus." He sighs a bit, kicking his feet up on the table. "Gotta tell ya though, broseph, ya gotta start trusting SOME day. Yeah, it can bitecha in the ass...just look around Twisted these days, but that bein' said...trust."

Vergil shook his head some and took to leaning on the desk, his back to Dante as he looked at the mess of the shop. Torn inside because half of his being said take it, the rest yelled no. And it was the rest he had trusted in. Those voices that keep him safe from the rest of ... everything. "Father trusted, father died. Mother trusted, and she likewise is dead. I do hope trust will not take you as well." He spoke as he just shook his head some. "I have seen too much to trust anyone, even you. If I ever was to trust again, it would be you before any other."

Dante mms. He can't entirely argue with Vergil's logic there. He's been hurt many times for trusting the wrong folks...hell, Christy played em with that just recently and now we have THIS mess to deal with. Granted that he mostly supporting Tabi-cat at the time, but none the less... He smiles a bit at that last one. "That means a LOT ta hear, Verg. It really does. Thank you. ...I dunno if it means anythin', but even after all we've been through...I still trust ya."

Vergil He shook his head some. "You're an idiot, but you're my idiot brother so it's my job to protect you when you need it." He pushed off the desk, picking Yamato up. "I need to be on my way, but I will see you again." Nope, not telling Dante where he lives.

Dante laughs a bit. "Well, ONE of us has to be the careful stud who gets all the chicks, right?" He watches Vergil get set to go and sighs just a little, but is still smiling. Yeah, that's about as much time as he ever gets but...Vergil was pretty open with him today and rather calm. That's always good to see. Boy, he sure does love his brother even after all the shit they've been through. Family, huh? He lifts a hand in a wave. "Alright, take it easy bro. Don't be a stranger."

Vergil lifted a hand over his shoulder and waved, he didn't have much to offer but baby steps. He figured it was enough to help mend some of that bridge he burned. "I will. You know you do not need to worry about me." And yet he always ignores that line about chicks. "Oh." He looked back when he reached the door. "Let the sun goddess know I am alive I suppose. She seemed concerned." He shrugged and headed on out. "Goodbye, Dante."
