It's early evening, and Rayne is in the UR's Gym, on one of the side pads... fighting herself? She's started up the holographic opponent generator, but it's using an older scan of her, in her old leather armor. Her movements are oddly heavy and clumsy: quite different from her usual motions, but it seems the hologram of her is moving just fine. Rayne seems to be holding her own against... herself, however, and is still able to keep the hologram's swords from connecting with her unarmored parts. Still, it looks like she's exerting a lot of effort.

Since today's her day off, Sae decided it might be a good idea to visit the gym here. She was already a little self conscious about her weight -being slightly chubby-, so not going to the school's gym class or running around the UR to help shed some pounds didn't sound to appealing to the girl. Plus, she's got way too much energy to just sit around! Dressed in a snug fitting t-shirt and red bloomer combo, along with some adorable white thigh-highs, she entered and gave Rayne a smile. "Rayne Ray-" she stopped and stared, eeeep'ing quietly! "R-Rayne! What're you doing! Why are you beating you up?!"

What does a girl do when stranded in a mysterious world with a only a scrawny, scruffy dude to call - very loosely- a friend? Go out and make new ones! Explore! See the sights. Wander around a little and see what turns up. Anyway, anything is better than waiting around for something to happen. Yang finds herself wandering right into this gym, figuring it might be a good place to blow off a little steam once in a while. Whatever she was expecting, it wasn't this. "Whoa." She says, brows raised as she takes in the sheer magnitude of the place. She actually has to pause there in the doorway to drink it all in. "Well that's snazzy," There's nearly anything she could imagine and even more here. WAY better than what she expected. Movement catches her eye. As a huntress in training, she's come to recognize almost instinctively the sound of battle. It piques her interest. She's not disappointed when she finds Rayne fighting herself. She saunters her way over to where the young woman is in her heated training and watches openly for a while, noting her particular style...coordination and athleticism. Hands on hips, she grins at Rayne's apparent skillful maneuvers. She comments to Sae, "She's pretty good."

Rayne glances at Sae and says "Pause," causing the holographic version of herself to stop mid sword-swing. She herself pauses a bit more to catch her breath. "Just... getting in some training. Don't worry... It's just... a hologram." She continues breathing a bit heavily for another moment before smiling to Yang and replying, "Thanks! Gotta stay on top, even if I don't... patrol as much as I used to. I saw you in the... Welcome Center the other day... Right?"

"I umm...think so?" Sae answers the blonde, not knowing her name yet. Or really what 'good' looks like when it comes to fighting! What matters is that Rayne's not hurt, and not going to get hurt either! "Phew..I was super worried for a sec! Fighting is really not my thing! Here-" she runs off to get something, then comes back and offers Rayne a cool, dry towel to get any sweat or anything off her. "There you go! That should help!". Turning to Yang, she flashes her a big big smile! "Hiya! I'm Sae! I don't think we've met yet!"

Yang grins crookedly, "Yeah, I hear that. I've never been one to sit still either....Uh....The Welcome Center?" she blinks, scratching the back of her head and considering a moment. "Prrrrobably but, I'm sorry I didn't really notice you. I was kinda preoccupied. Heh" This is about the time that Sae introduces herself. There's something about her - that youthful enthusiasm, likely, that sets off a little pang inside. Reminds her of a certain someone she knows. "Hey, I'm Yang. " She says, cheerfully looking between the two of them. This intro will kill two birds with one stone. "And I'm pretty new here so ? Though, weren't you with that big blue guy or something?"

Rayne tries to reach for the towel tossed at her, but doesn't quite make it, as the towel drops rather quickly to the ground after entering her ring. She does pick it up, however, and indeed uses it to wipe the sweat from her face. "Thanks, Sae. And don't worry if it's not your thing. Not everyone should need to know how to fight." She steps out of the ring and stumbles ever so slightly as she re-adjusts to normal gravity, and her holographic opponent vanishes as she does so. She nods to Yang, then. "Yeah... are you adjusting well?" she asks. After all, the reason she'd poked her head in when Yang and Jaune were at the Welcome Center was a bit of an angry outburst.

Sae goes in to give Yang a warm hug, though thanks to the 'restraint' that she's been taught here so far, she makes sure to be on the look out for any signs of discomfort, stopping well before they make contact just in case Yang is averse to that kinda thing! "Awww, thanks Rayne! I hope I never ever ever have to learn, either! Fighting's just.." she shakes her head. "It's no good! People can get hurt that way!". Hands on her hips, the bloomer-dressed girl hmmms. "Do you want some water or anything else Rayne? You look beat!". That's when she turns to Yang, still all giggly and smiley! "Yang! That's a cute name! I bet you're talking about Kotal, right? He's so strange I can dangle off his arm and it's like he doesn't even notice!"

When Rayne staggers, Yang puts her hands ot suddenly as if to catch her fall. "Whoa, easy!" It isn't that she really was in any danger of falling. Rayne has shown herself to be pretty adept in the ring. It's more that big sisterly reflex that comes naturally to the blonde. Of course, seeing she's okay, she moves right along. Yang can only shrug a little to Rayne's inquiry. She's too honest to say everything's perfect. "I'm hanging in there ? Or as I like to say -YANG-in there...Eh eh? Right? Ha ha." She laughs and waves a hand, "Naw seriously, I'm fine. I mean, it's kind of a shock to the system at first......and second....and third but....What can you do? Sometimes you've just gotta roll with the punches" she jab-jabs a little to emphasize her point. "Know what I mean?" To Sae's complimenting her name she could only say, "Thanks! ? Yeah, that sounds about right."

Rayne waves off Sae's concern. "I'm fine, Sae, I'm fine. Just was testing myself. Oh, yeah, sorry, I should properly introduce myself... Rayne Hurris, I'm both second in command of the local police force under the aforementioned big blue Kotal and I more or less run the Welcome Center, as well... not that Serenity needs any supervision." She offers a quick smirk at that, but that warms into a normal smile quickly enough. "Yeah, sounds like you roll a lot like I do, then. Glad to hear you're doing well, then."

Sae bursts out laughing at that silly pun, bending over forward as she can't stop giggling. "You're silly Yang! I like that lots! We need more silly people around here!". She runs around to hug Yang from behind, pressing her chest firmly to the girls back with more giggles. She's pretty darn happy to meet someone so cute and funny! Peeking at Rayne, she nods! "Good! But I'm gonna get you some water anyway!". She does just that, running over to a cooler and coming back with a bottle of it!

Yang staggers a step or two, not having expected Sae's hug attack but she can't help but grin. She's used to kiddie shenanigans and happens to be a fan. Her grin spreads, albeit in a lopsided way. "Whoaa-kaay! Haha. I'm glad that's settled. It's nice to meet you too... Both of you... Sae and..." Well Sae's already whizzing over to get a bottle of water for Rayne and making Yang's hair sort of blow a little in the breeze. She's got some speed on her, that little one. "Rayne." Yang's lilac eyes flick over to the fighting arena with renewed curiosity. "So that's nifty setup you've got there. How's it work?"

Rayne takes the water bottle from Sae, moving a bit oddly cautiously... at least for those that don't know her. She seems to take care to avoid actually touching Sae's fingers as she takes it with a light sigh. "Thanks... Oh, which part exactly? The ring I was in was set for double gravity... But the Holographic Opponent Generator is separate." She motions over to the control panel set in the wall. "I've found it to be pretty good way to test myself when I can't find a sparring partner."

Sae instantly likes anyone who likes her shenanigans, so Yang's super okay in the schoolgirl's book! In fact, she runs over to give the girl another hug, for no reason other than she can! It's a quick squeeze though, and then she's back to looking at Rayne, wanting to make sure she's still okay. Fighting worries the girl a bit too much! Even if it's just play-fighting. "Whoa..double gravity? That's super cool! Are you like..a super hero or something Rayne? Most people would fall over under that kinda thing!".

Sae isn't the only one who's impressed. Yang's also now openly appraising Rayne's warrior mettle. "Yeah! She's right. That -is- really impressive, actually. You train like that all the time?" Yang whistles, "No wonder you can't find a partner for a sparring match. Sounds fun though." The blonde folds her arms across her chest, drumming her fingers across her arm. "Do all the police here train as hard as you do or are you just driven? Cause either way, that's pretty badass."

Rayne holds up her hands. "No! I'm no super hero or anything. That was the first time I could pull off double gravity for that long. You caught me just a minute or so in... And no, I do not train like that all the time. Before this the highest I could manage was one and a half. Possibly because my armor is actually lighter now." She lets out a sigh. "I'm... driven, I guess. But some of the other officers could probably take double or triple for a few hours." She shrugs.

Sae giggles. "You're selling yourself short you silly! You're amazing Rayne! And I think the only reason you're not a super hero is 'cause you say you're not! You got totally kick-butt anything that the best super-heroes could!", giving her a giggle and a thumbs up. Sae starts some exercise of her own now, raising up one leg onto the gymnastics horse and pointing it straight, at a diagonal angle, stretching her muscles.

Yang can't help but laugh at Sae's antics. That kid's got spunk. That kid's got something else but words fail to describe that particular quality just now. "Truer words have never been spoken." She says, just a little facetiously. "Anyway, it's a start. I think it's great. Just keep at it and , Hey! If you're ever looking for a sparring partner, look no further!" Yang thumbs in her own direction. "I'd be happy to help you out sometime." She gives Rayne a saucy wink and can't help but turn her attention to Sae's own brand of athleticism. She sort of jerks her head in Sae's direction. "Sweet kid. Reminds me of my sister.....sorta."

Rayne sighs and puts a hand to her face as Sae runs off. "Nnnggghhh... She has so much energy, it's like she sucks it out of me or something. She manages to make me feel old and exhausted." She lowers her hand again and offers Yang a weak smile. "I try. That's all I ask of myself." She ponders Yang's offer. "I might take you up on it sometime, sure. But not tonight. I am legitimately exhausted from that workout." She then begins guzzling the bottle of water.

Sae continues her stretches, eyes closing as she slides forward along her upward-diagonally pointed leg. She makes some soft whimpers as the stretching gets those muscles to do some not-so-nice things, and she soon lets up, raising her other leg up onto the gymnastics horse and stretching that, too! "Awwww, thankies Yang! I hope your sisters a super nice person! She must be, since she's like you!", giggling with joy. "Rayne Rayne! You can always borrow some of my energy if you want! I've got lots to spare!". At that, the girl puts both feet on the ground together, legs straight, reaching down to touch her tiptoes, facing the opposite direction from them. "They've really got everything here! First time poking my head in here instead of the high school's gym!"

Yang leans in conspiratorially and asides to Rayne in a mock stage- whisper, eyes still on Sae. "Yeah, I see what you mean." She straights and claps her hands a couple of times, barking out a flurry of encouraging words. "Alright! Way to go! You've got this! Keep going!" She leans back to Rayne, "They trick is to offer enough encouragement to keep their confidence up...and distracting them....if you need to make a clean getaway..." She grins crookedly, "I'll take this bullet for you if ya need me to, chief."

Rayne finishes the bottle of water and raises an eyebrow at Sae. With a deadpan tone, she says, "Sae, I'm not Flandre. I can't suck the energy from you." She then nods, even if Sae is facing the other way. "They do have a lot of good equipment here. If I'm on my own, I generally find this place to be better than TASK HQ itself." She retreats slightly as Yang leans in towards her, giving the blonde a sidelong glance. "You kidding me? My calves are burning right now. I don't think I could make the run, now that the adrenaline of the match is gone."

Sae thought Sae can't hear whatever the two are conspiring about, she totally catches the encouragement! And judging by the huge, toothy smile she flashes to Yang, it's working! "Awwwww! Thanks! I try! Wonder if they'll allow me to take gym class in here some days..I think that'd be super nice!". At that, Sae stops stretching to her tiptoes and then starts twisting her upper body one way, then the other, feet kept firmly in place, joints cracking softly.

Yang winces and makes as if to clap Rayne on the shoulder, "Oof, tough break. Guess you're stuck then. Oh well." Its all in good humor, of course. So far, in spite of the somewhat dire and completely unwanted circumstances....things haven't been so bad. The people here seem friendly enough so far, even if they are all a little....different. She folds her arms back over her chest and watches with a slightly amused expression on her face. "Aw, she's not so bad. You should see Nora. She's?" Yang squints an eye and holds out a hand as though she could summon up the words. "Sssspirited....Yeah!" She decides is the kinder way of saying it. "So, you're a cop right? What sorta things you guys up against here? Your average lowlife thugs or, some other kind of cosmic riff-raff I've never heard of?"

Rayne flinches away from the shoulder clap that she sees incoming. "Er... Sorry... It's, uh, me." Sometimes Rayne finds it awkward to try to explain her own social issues. "Uh, lately we've been worrying over... Something called Xenomorphs... black, long heads, no eyes, blood melts through just about anything..." She pauses a moment. "But it's the little ones that are really scary. Keep the little brown... things away from your face." After a quick shudder, she looks back over to Sae. "I dunno, Sae. The teacher probably wouldn't want to go through the hassle of a field trip just for another gym..." She does tilt her head with a slight pause. "Not that I know any of the staff other than the admissions people."

Sae awwwwwww! "Are you suuuure? Maybe I can just field trip alone or with a friend or two? I'm sure he wouldn't mind too much! Right..?" she says hopefully. At that, she looks at the gym horse, hands on her hips. "Hmm..hey Rayne! How do I use this thingy to exercise anyway? It's pretty good for stretching but like..I dunno where to start!"

Rayne raises an eyebrow and walks over to the thing. "Don't ask me, ask the teacher. I don't have a say in that kinda stuff. Hrm." She pauses, looking it over. "Well, it looks similar to something I used in the past. You grab the handles and... do stuff? It's really hard to explain, and I'm a bit worn out to show you." She shifts herself a bit. "...And I'm not sure I could do it wearing armor, either."

Sae hmmms. "Grab the handles and do stuff! I can do that!". Gripping each handle, she lifts herself onto the gymnastics horse and straddles it, legs dangling off either side. Mumbling a curious "Now what.." to herself, she leans forward to lay her chest down on the thing, then starts doing push ups by gripping the corners of it!

Sae says, "Oh oh! Ranye! Where do you live anyways? Is it cozy?"

Rayne shakes her head. "No, no, it's like... You hold yourself up by your arms, keep your arms straight, and then... uhh... Damnit, I really just don't know how to describe it." She blinks when asked about her place. "Uh, I've an apartment in Integra Arms. It's... good enough for me, based on a... place I owned in my home universe."

Sae giggles, then rolls off the thing and onto the ground. "I don't think I'm quite athletic enough to do whatever that is!", giggling again. This doesn't seem to bother her one bit! "Uuuu! Is it cozy? I've still got to try and get a dorm at the school! The place I have now is temporary so I'm trying to avoid making it all cozy and home-y, you knows?

Rayne says, "Ehhh.... It's small, but that's because I wanted it to match what I based it on. So... I dunno. The top half of the walls are metal bulkheads. Uhhh.." She blinks. "Yeah. I'd wait for your dorm, then."

Sae giggles! "Uuuuu! Like one of those big navy-boat thingies? Those things sound kinda cozy! Were you in the navy Ranye?!". She hmmms, thinking. "I bet you were! If you feel overboard they could find you SUPER easily too, I bet! Rainbow hair and stuffs!"

Rayne blinks. "Uhhh, technically, yeah. I was a mechanic, though... and if I were spaced, if you could see my hair, it'd already be too late." She looks a little horrified at this, actually.

Sae tilts her head. "Spaced..?" she questions, obviously confused. But it 'clicks' soon enough, and predictably the girl's bouncing up and down in place. "OHMYGOSH! You were an astronaut Rayne! That is SO COOL!". She's shifting from foot to foot, all excited at the prospect. "You saw stars up close I bet! And pretty space-things!!"

Rayne lowers an eyebrow. "Uhhh... astro-naut?" She actually doesn't seem familiar with the word. "I was just an engine mechanic in the fighter bay. How close is close to you? I've been within about twenty million klicks of a star... not very pleasant, actually. But... Nebulae can be pretty, yeah." She does nod a bit more strongly at that.

Sae says, "Astronaut! You fly in space!". Sae sagenods to that, having decided Rayne's an astronaut despite the girl clearly not even knowing what the term means! "Still still! I dunno how far that is, but stars are SO BIG that I bet 20 million anything is like, right next to one!", she giggles. "Did you take pictures?! Oh gosh I bet you took tons of pictures! Can you show me them sometime!?"

Yang is just taking a moment to take this bevy of information in. She's keeping up, more or less, with the shenanigans but had found herself distracted by some other elaborate looking piece of training device in the back there. In any case, the onslaught of questions Rayne is having to field is making her own head spin just a little. ^^; Maybe energy drain is Sae's Semblance. She muses "Is she always dialed to 11?"

Rayne blinks shakes her head. "....I got here with literally nothing but the clothes I was wearing and the weapons in my hands. No. I do not have pictures." She then glances to Yang and just nods.

Sae gives the longest 'awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwWWWwwWWWWwWwwwWWW' of her life! She was really excited about seeing shiny pretty glowy nebula! "Well..umm..hmmm.." she puts her hands on her hips and cocks them to one side, then the other, repeating the motion as she turns the gears in her head. "Do you know anyone who might have cutsey space pictures then? Or know where to get them?". She smiles to Yang! "Yang Yang! How about you? Do you know where maybe?"

Yang blinks, a little surprised to be on the receiving end of this newest line of questioning. The blonde arches a brow, scratching the back of her head, "Oh sure! Uhhh....a.....museum? Some kind of observatory? Seems like the best place for that kind of thing...If you guys even have that here. Do ya?" She turns gaze to Rayne, though feels a little sorry for throwing her under the bus all over again. "Maybe the school computers...Anyway...Speaking of school, I guess I'm supposed to sign up for that while I'm here...something about the law or something...9.9;" She sort of rolls her eyes. "That and I should probably find a job...since....." She pulls out her pockets from her shorts (yes, they have pockets in this scene) "I'm a little low on cash right now...." ^^;

Rayne says, "Uh, probably? There might be some photo books in a book store? It's a shot, at least..." She then blinks to Yang. "Wait, didn't Serenity sign you up when you were at the Welcome Center? And as far as a job, you can always try waitressing here... it's kind of an... open thing. Beyond that, while the Welcome Center hopes to be able to help with job placement in the future, we still don't... really have the capabilities to really help you there, unfortunately."

Sae nodnodnods to everything they suggest. "Computer! Bookstore! And yeah! You totally should, if you like schools! It's really really really nice there! I'm even gonna leave at school eventually, once they get the dorms all sorted out..". Humming happily to herself as she listens, she says in agreement with Rayne "Mhmmm! Waitressing is SO MUCH fun! I'm a waitress over there at the UR-" she freezes, suddenly remembering something. Taking Yang by the hand, she gently pulls her over to a corner and starts whispering something to her, looking at Rayne, then back at Yang, not being nearly sneaky enough. It's pretty obvious she's talking about Rayne!

Sae whispers to Yang, out of earshot of Rayne. "Okay okay! Yang! I need your help! Yesterday Rayne came into the UR and ordered a buncha tasty chicken fingers! But they were talking about yucky gross monsters or something that Rayne was kick-butting the other day, and it made her lose her appetite and be all frowny! So I wanna give her her money back! But but, know if I do it she'll just say no! So umm...you're super cool right? Can you like, sneak this to her somehow?

Sae hands Yang the Rayne's money!

Waitressing is not at all what Yang had in mind when she was thinking of a job. She was hoping for something that was a little closer to her area of expertise which is to say the kind of job where you can happily clobber the snot out of something and still earn a paycheck. "Well, actually - " She begins but is unable to finish because the next thing she knows, Sae's got her by the hand and pulled into a private conference. Moment's later, she has a hand full of money and no idea how she got into this particular fix. Sneak? Sneak is NOT Yang's forte or preferred M.O. Still, this isn't anything she can't handle. "Sure, don't worry about it, squirt. I got this!" She says with a smile, wink and ruffle of Sae's hair. She straights and walks the two or three space back to Rayne and slaps thrusts the bills in the young woman's face. "Here's your change. Ah ah! Don't say anything. Just take it."

Rayne tilts her head as Sae pulls Yang to the side, but then looks off to the side at a clock and frowns. She manages to turn back to the other to to start saying something right as Yang thrusts the wad of bills in her face. The result, predictably, is for Rayne to quickly take a few steps back with slightly widened eyes. Well, predictably for those that know Rayne, at least. With an utterly confused look on her face she asks, "The hell? Um... The Welcome Center is a government institution, we don't charge..." Well, she certainly doesn't seem to have a clue what's going on. "Look, I'm sorry, but I've got an early morning tomorrow, and really should be going home to sleep now, so... I'll catch the two of you later, okay?" She actually looks a little spooked almost by that, and takes a few steps backwards before waving and turning for the door.

Sae grins wide at the ruffle, eyes closing for a moment. Yang is so cool! Look how smooth she is going over to Rayne and just giving her the money! Confident, too! But then..she sees Rayne run away! Oh no!! Not even Yang could get it back to her?! Running over to the blonde, she hugs tight and WAAAAAAAH's! "I really really really want to get it back to her! Maybe Miss Ren will know how!"

Yang errks, arm still outstretched towards Rayne, "Oh no! But you don't understand! And you forgot your....big wad of cash...." She stands there a moment, letting the awkward silence fall around them. Just like that she's assaulted by the incoming Sae and winces. She patpats the girl on the top of the head. "Next time. We'll get her next time...
