Marking the first road in the chaos, and in many ways literally built FROM the chaos, is the Twisted Street itself. Unlike the rest of the streets in Twisted, the Twisted Street is made out of a strange black rock which has been carefully laid out across its length. Careful study will reveal that it's actually a single piece of solid stone somehow laid out to look like a street. Where it originated or how they managed to place it so flawlessly is anyone's guess.

In the past the Twisted Street was described as a long black stone of unknown origin and that walking along it would take the traveler in and out of random worlds as the Street existed on all worlds at the same time. It was totally indestructible and went on infinitely with some carefully orchestrated magic in place to generally keep people on the world of Twisted. Since current events have "shattered" the street, this description has been revised. It is now considered common knowledge that each piece of the Twisted Street does indeed exist on a random world in the multiverse, but not necessarily as a solid road. The pieces may be on any number of roads and are always connected to their point of origin. Because of this each "pebble" of the street could potentially send a traveler to it's world of origin at random - something that is particularly more common the further one gets from the center of the Twisted Street. As the road has been shattered those pieces (which cannot be destroyed by any means) are slowly pulling themselves together and the final configuration is entirely based upon which pieces pull themselves together first.

Grid Description

The Twisted Street(#5213R)
Appropriately-named, this street seems to bend and twist as the eye perceives it. This fact in no way discourages the world's denizens from freely moving along it, rendering any concept of the 'middle' of the road rather moot, and begging caution from even the toughest pedestrians. Nonetheless, this street is much-frequented, in no small part thanks to the invitingly rustic, wood-panelled front of the famous Usual Restaurant, whose painted sign swings to and fro in the pleasant lamplight beneath its awning.

Opposite the Usual, on the south side, Twisted Street forms a promenade of sorts as it overlooks Zeku-Kari beach. Further to the east, it curves to become a makeshift and decidely unlikely bridge over the edge of Lake Emepherea, where the housing district can be found.

To the west, the street becomes more unstable.

Grid Description

The Twisted Street(#1833R)
"Welcome to Twisted" reads a small sign hanging on the side of the Usual Restaurant, a two-story establishment dominating one side of the absolute center of Twisted Street. Opposite of the UR is the start of Park Road, which starts at this section of the Twisted Street. Towering over it is the mutli-story Integra's Arms Apartments. Somehow people are quick to ignore the houses and businesses that line the streets here going off one way and another way. Perhaps it's the mental blinders people put up when it comes to places they can't freely come and go from.

Barely visible in the distance is the edge of a sandstorm marking the beginning of the wastelands, its harsh edge a direct contrast to the usually calm weather of the city of Twisted. In fact it almost looks like the storm is brushing against a giant bowl covering the main part of the city, and in many ways this is true. Hopefully no one will ever find a way to deactivate the barrier that holds the chaos at bay...
