The Wastelands

According to the New Unified History of Twisted the Wastelands where created when hordes of undead creatures where banished to another plane of existence by Twisted's original Council taking with them miles of the city and many of its innocent people. Bordering between the chaos that surrounds the planet and the influence of Gegoshi's stabilization, the Wastelands are a dumping ground of random bits of connected worlds which flicker between realities creating a harsh environment that eventually crushes those structures to dust. As such very few things exist in the Wastelands which can be considered landmarks. For this reason powerful spells where cast which eventually deposit anyone unlucky enough to get lost in them back onto Twisted Street.

One such landmark is a tree which exists in an area of the Wastelands nicknamed "Insanity". The tree is an nearly exact replica of the cherry tree that rests upon the hill of the Peaceful Glade Cemetary made entirely out of barbed wire. Approaching the sculpture will cause it to come to life, lashing out at anyone nearby. This 'tree' was created to mark and guard the connection point between the Wastelands and the world where that portion of Twisted was banished to. A world the natives refer to as Hell.

Grid Descriptions

The Wastelands(#870R)
Further out from the center of Twisted Street, and its wavering stability, lie the Wastelands. Dry and overcast, the Wastelands are a maelstrom of chaos. Sane people won't venture out this far from the axis of the world, due to the instability equating to suicide. A desert and a dead land, they mirror the Wastelands of Hell, broken trees and expired brush lightly specking the view.

The Wastelands - Chaos(#4470R)
If you thought the start of the Wastelands were bad, you had no idea. Instability is an issue, glimmers of other worlds clearly seen as they try equally to merge into, and push away this part of existence. A thousand possibilities, a thousand terrors. And worse yet, the longer one lingers this far into the wastes, the more their mind will try to rip itself apart from within. You've only got two directional options though: east and west. At least you've got a fifty-fifty chance of getting there.

The Wastelands - Insanity(#4467R)
The sky no longer exists for souls that manage to get this far. The ground is nothing but fire and darkness. All the worlds that were seen in the near eastern part of the wastelands are mirrored here in a way, as in all the worlds seen here are the Worlds of the Dead. Every version of Heaven and every version of Hell might be found here. The spiritual walls are weaker and easier to pass through, however, allowing all sorts of evil and negativity to seep out. Every step taken in this area allows a hand or claw to snap into existence and flail until it's user moves away. I'd be careful; but that's just me.

In the middle of all this insanity, there is a lone tree. Some might recognize it from the cemetary, though it's not a cherry tree. Instead, it floats slightly above the ground and is composed purely of barbed wire. A gift left by an angry god, perhaps? Fluid and writhing, the vicious barbs will attack anyone who tries to get near it, and the ground nearby suggests that a few have tried. Charred desert sand and a few sets of bones lie at the base, suggesting that the tree is durable, too. But then it would have to be, to thrive in this wasteland.

The Wastelands - Again(#4464R)
Ah, the Wastelands again... hmm. Further out from the center of Twisted Street, and its wavering stablity, lie the Wastelands. Dry and overcast, the Wastelands are a maelstrom of chaos. Sane people won't venture out this far from the axis of the world, due to the instability equating to suicide. A desert and a dead land, they mirror the Wastelands of Hell, broken trees and expired brush lightly specking the view.
