Pre-Game - So... you want to play the game. My game, by my rules. I am... THE GATEKEEPER! I rule this game, and you, you will obey my rules. When I speak you will stop, and you will listen! ...Hmmm? I see... You have all been stained with a color, and marked by a number. If I call your number or your color you must answer "Yes, my Gatekeeper!" If you fail to answer "Yes, my Gatekeeper", when I call your number or color, you will be punished! I'd like to punish one of you now. You? The one who holds the lowest number. YES, YOU! ANSWER ME, YOU MAGGOT! Time's up. If you failed to answer "Yes, my Gatekeeper" in time, you are banished. Move your mark to the closest black hole. You will not play until I choose to release you. But... if you answered in time... you have learned my first lesson. Do not forget! For you will all be called and you will all be tested! Let us begin my game with you. The one who holds the highest number: answer me! You will be the first to roll the dice and begin my game... and your nightmare.

2:02 - Stop! Whose turn is it next? Who is just about to roll the dice? Answer me! Time's up. If you failed to answer "Yes, my Gatekeeper" in time, you must roll a "6" before you can play again.

3:26 - I release you from the black hole.

4:33 - Stop! Those of you on gravestones marked with an "X": Receive a free turn.

5:43 - Stop! Those of you on gravestones marked "Chance": Take the dice and roll it. Roll it now, and if you can roll your number, you can take a key.

6:58 - Stop! *yawn* I release those of you in the black hole. Let us all play the first game together. I want each of you to take a turn to roll the dice. What are you waiting for, huh? DO IT! Don't waste my time, for you have precious little of it! Time's up. And if you haven't yet had a turn, you can blame it on the others, not me. Now, who rolled the highest number? Answer me! Time's up. If you answered in time, you may take a key, but if you failed, you have lost a precious prize. As for the one who... rolled the lowest number... answer me!... you will miss a turn.

9:26 - Stop! Whose turn is next? Answer me! Give me your real name. Huh? I must have missed your middle name. That is a stupid name, isn't it, you maggot! *laughs* Well. Answer me? ...I think it is. So do all the others. Now, pick up the dice, and roll it! Huh? What number did you roll? There are 26 letters in the alphabet, and you have rolled one of the first six. What letter would that be? Huh? If that letter is in your middle name, you will miss the number of turns you have rolled. If it is not, take a Fate card.

11:20 - (the lighting is subtly altered) I release you from the black hole.

11:49 - Stop! Those of you on gravestones marked with an "X", do not play again until I return.

12:27 - Stop! I release you from the black hole in time for a game of my choosing! All of you will now take a turn to roll the dice, and the one who rolls the highest... is the Chosen One. Remember! For when I call for the Chosen One, it will answer... or it will pay dearly!

13:57 - Stop! You! The one whose turn it is next, answer me! Pick up the dice. Now, roll it! What number did you roll? Huh? Not bad! Roll it again. What number did you roll this time? Now, roll it again. Three times lucky? Give me the number. Huh. Now, add all three numbers you rolled together. If the total is more than twelve, receive a key. If not, better luck next time. *laughs*

15:54 - Stop! You! The one whose turn it is next, answer me! Tell me, who would you like to see banished? Which one of your opponents? Consider it done. That player is banished to the black hole!

17:06 - Stop! Whose turn is it next? Answer me! You're going to wish it wasn't! Roll the dice! What number did you roll? That is the number of turns you are going to miss, you maggot!

18:11 - Stop! You! Yes, you! The one whose turn it is next, answer me! You're banished!

19:24 - (the lighting is altered again) I release those of you banished to the black hole, and I summon the Chosen One. Who is the Chosen One? Answer me! So... It is you... Take a key, then leave your seat... And come... Sit before me... *a skull is visible on his face for a moment* I have something very special to show you... It is just for you... *skull appears again* It is not for the others... Come closer... Still closer, so I can show you... MY FURY!!! NEVER, EVER COME CLOSER TO ME AGAIN, YOU MAGGOT!

21:22 - Stop! Those stained with the colors purple, red, or blue, answer me! Roll the dice! If you roll your number, you can take a key.

22:31 - Stop! Those stained with the colors black, white, and gray, answer me! Roll the dice. If you can roll your number, you can take a key.

23:38 - Stop! Whose turn is it next? Answer me! You must roll a "6" to play again.

24:13 - Those of you on gravestones marked with "Time" will miss a turn.

24:44 - Stop! Those of you on gravestones marked with an "X" will now receive two free turns.

25:21 - Stop! Whose turn is it now? Answer me! I'd bet you'd like a key. I also bet you cannot roll your number to receive one! Go on: roll the dice. What number did you roll? Is that your number, little maggot? Ah. If it's your number, I'm going to give you a key. If it's not... YOU'RE BANISHED!!! *laughs*

26:55 - Stop! Whose turn is next? Answer me! It's your turn alright, and you're playing me! Roll the dice! What number did you roll? This is my number: it is "5". If you rolled my number, you cannot play again until I return.

28:18 - Stop! The writing's on the wall, little maggots! Each of you will now take a turn to roll the dice, and be rewarded or punished accordingly.

The following text appears on-screen to give the result of a player's roll:

6 - FREE TURN
5 - MISS A TURN
4 - BANISHED
3 - FATE CARD
2 - CHANCE CARD
1 - TIME CARD

29:17 - I release you from the black hole.

29:47 - Stop! I want to play with the Old One now. Find out who is the oldest. The frail one! The one you all pity! Who is the Old One, answer me, or be banished! I want to ask you a question. You will not lie. If you lie, and... one amongst you knows the truth... you will reveal all, and the Old One will die! Now, Old One, how... old are you? That old! You smell much older! *the skull appears again* Everybody must pity you! They won't soon. They'll hate you like I do! Now, old maggot, take the dice, but do not roll until I command you. I want you to roll your exact age. Have as many turns as you wish, but if the total you roll is higher than your age, you will start again. Only when the old maggot has rolled its old age will my game continue! Rrrrroll the dice!

32:39 - Time's up! Answer me, old maggot! Did you manage to roll your old age? If you succeeded, you can take a key. Hopefully you failed miserably! If you failed, you are banished to the black hole, where you will grow older still...!

33:55 - Stop! All of you will now take a turn to roll the dice! Do it now, and those of you who rolled their numbers can take a key.

34:55 - (the Gatekeeper's voice is amplified slightly) I release those banished to the black hole.

35:45 - Stop! Who holds the most number of my keys? Answer me! Ah... you are a worry... a concern to me. No matter. I banish you to the black hole! *laughs* You ask why? Because I can. Because I am the Gatekeeper, and this is my game, and your nightmare! *snorts* Ah. *laughs, with additional giggling in the background*

37:23 - Do you think I'm fair? *looks upset; giggling in the background* I have been fair to you all... I have been good to you all! ...on occasion. I can also be very bad! Now I choose to be good. Each of you will now take a turn to roll the dice, and if you roll your number, you can take a key. As for the little maggot in the black hole, you grow weak, while the others grow stronger...!

39:14 - I release those of you banished to the black hole, and I summon you: the one with the highest number, answer me, you maggot! You have been chosen for the test of the chimes. Listen for the chimes, for when my clock begins to chime, you will take the dice, and roll it twelve times. If you roll your number three times... you will be rewarded.

40:45 - Those of you on gravestones marked "Fate", yours is to miss a turn. And those of you on gravestones marked "Time"... it is time for you... to receive a free one.

41:51 - Is anybody wasting away in the black hole? I offer you a chance, a toss of the coin. Tails, and you are free, but heads... And yours is still mine! *giggling in the background*

42:24 - *Chimes start*

42:53 - Did the maggot with the highest mark manage to roll its number three times? If you failed, then your failure has released all those in the black hole, but if you succeeded, receive a key.

43:44 - (the Gatekeeper is somewhat wrinkled) Stop! I want to play with the Young One now. Answer me! How old are you, little one? Oh. Isn't it past your bedtime, little one? The youngest one is the weakest... easy prey... easy meat... like to meet me on the other side, little one? *snorts* Pick up the dice. You must roll your exact age before I return. Have as many turns as you wish. Think you can win? I think not. I'll be back with your punishment real soon!

45:15 - Psst... psst! Little one... young one... answer me! If you succeeded, you can have a key... but if you failed... Bye bye, little one! Enjoy your fall down into the black hole! Bye bye...!

46:20 - I release you... from the black hole.

46:56 - Those of you with odd numbers will now take a turn to roll the dice. If you can roll your number, you will receive a key.

47:41 - Those of you with even numbers will now take a turn to roll the dice. If you can roll your number, you will receive a key.

48:27 - Stop! You, the one whose turn it is next! Answer me! Look at me, you maggot! Yes, look at me! Do not turn away from me! You will stare down deep into my eyes, and keep looking at me until I fade away! Don't blink, maggot: if you blink just once, you've shown me your weakness; I'll take a key from you! Don't blink, little maggot! I'm watching you! I see you! Peek-a-boo! Don't blink, you little maggot.... *stares at the player for two minutes, until 50:21*

50:56 - Stop! Whose turn is it now? Answer me! You are scum, aren't you? Answer me! I like scum. Tastes great! Now, roll the dice, you scum-sucking maggot! Roll it four times, and if the total you roll is an even number, then it's time to get even with you. You're banished! But if it's odd, you will receive a key.

51:46 - Stop! You will all take a turn to roll the dice, and be rewarded or punished, according to what is written.

The following text appears on-screen to give the result of a player's roll:

4 - BANISHED
3 - FATE CARD
2 - CHANCE CARD

52:41 - (the Gatekeeper's eyes are reddening) I release you from the black hole, and we are about to play a new game. It's called Havoc!

53:02 - Number One, answer! I demand you roll a "1" before you play again.

53:18 - Number Two, answer! I demand you roll a "2" before you play again.

53:35 - Number Three, answer! I demand you roll a "3" before you play again.

53:51 - Number Four, answer! I demand you roll a "4" before you play again.

54:08 - Number Five, answer! I demand you roll a "5" before you play again.

54:24 - Number Six, answer! I demand you roll a "6" before you play again.

54:41 - Stop! Whose turn is it next? Answer me! Receive a free turn.

54:59 - Stop! Whose turn is it next? Answer me! Miss a turn.

55:15 - Where is the Old One? Dead yet? Pity. Answer me! Toss the coin. Heads, you're banished. Tails, and you receive a key.

55:43 - I want to play with the Young One again. I want to play for keeps. Fancy a game? Toss the coin. Heads, and you lose a key. Tails, and you receive one.

56:16 - Stop! Each of you will now take a turn to roll the dice. Hurry! The one who rolls the highest will receive a key.

56:57 - Stop! All of you will now take a turn to roll the dice. The one who rolls the highest will receive a key.

57:22 - Stop! Whose turn is it next? Answer me! The cards are on the table, I'm raising the bets, and you are going to play some Poker! Take the top card from the "Nightmare" pack. If it's your fear, you lose all your keys. You were going to lose anyway! But if it's not, return it to the back of the pack, and you can collect all remaining keys.

58:42 - (the Gatekeeper's eyes are glowing) Last minute chance, maggots! Roll the dice, and the one who rolls the highest receives all remaining keys.

59:38 - (the Gatekeeper's voice is almost demonic by now) The Ghost Train is coming, kiddies... listen to its scream! *echoes*

60:00 - It's over, little maggots! You have lost! This is the end of my game... but just the beginning of your nightmare.
