There was a long standing joke about Bryce back when I was working at Subway that went on behind his back. The last store manager under my reign often ranted about how he’d fully expect Bryce to go into “military-mode” if anyone started barking orders at him.

At this point of course, I’m working at Schlotzsky’s Deli and the more I worked there the more I wanted to do some more specific jokes about the establishment. (I did this again later in a non-related series of Gas Station comics starring me instead of my alter-ego) However, at the time I wanted it to be a part of the Sub’s story arch and thus this strip was born!

…and yes, I sketched it in pen and filled it in in pencil. Some days I like working backwards.
