Violet strides into the Usual, freshly showered and changed from a day of work at the NTSDF's headquarters! In fact, her hair is even a little wet, still.

Ari is sitting at a larger table. The table is bare save for a beer bottle and an acoustic guitar case. Ari seems to be hard at work re-stringing the instrument, which is blue in color with a silver filigree in the body..

Violet marches right on over to Ari's table. "Hey, Ari! Oh, you play?" she asks. "I've been trying to re-learn, myself... I used to be good, but two years of being out of practice really did a number on my skill...

Ari looks up at Violet and grins. "This and a bunch of other stuff. I'd be happy to give you lessons, if you'd like!" She loosens one of the pegs, taking the old string out. "How are you?

Violet laughs and shakes her head. "No, no, I still remember the fundamentals, I really just need to practice back up to my old level. I'm doing okay... They've got me on a monitoring station now, I think that and the hours they've thrown at me as punishment for screwing up some of the paperwork they were dumping on me earlier..." She shrugs, though. "But I'm not letting it get to me that much. I've got... Other things making life better right now." She grins a bit at that.

Ari gasps, grinning! "Right! Ok, I need all the details and I swear if you leave anything out..." she bounces in her seat.

Violet laughs and plops into another seat at the table, taking that as an invitation. "All right, all right. Where do you want me to start, then, besides, 'It's going well' which I'm sure you could tell last night?"

Ari grins. "I did, but please, the beginning."

Violet says, "Hrrrrm." She leans back in her chair, the front legs leaving contact from the ground. "Lessee. Okay. It was when Kibi... you know, the girl who always makes a big entrance when she shows up here? She was like... a hundred feet tall or something and rampaging across the beach. Well, I like to think I played a pivotal role in talking her down instead of actualyl, you know, hurting her much. Because of course we had to do SOMETHING when she was doing that... But I was in a really good mood after that, came here with a bit of a celebratory mood, and there she was! Honestly, I didn't think much at the time... It wasn't love at first sight or anything. She just didn't have any money since she'd apparently just showed up, and I paid for her drink. Honestly, I was just being nice and generous and stuff. But we started talking about what she did, what I did, and she started calling me cute and..." she blushes a bit. "I kept flirting back!"

Ari eeeees! "I'm proud of you! Getting your flirt on, you go!" she smiles. "Go on!"

Violet says, "Yeah, I know. If I had had a bad day going in there, I might not have... Or bought her the drink, or anything. Um... Yeah, so we met from time to time over the next few days, until about a week ago we decided... I guess I decided? That we should stop meeting by chance and actually plan to meet, instead... so I, uh... Yeah, we met here, went to Tokyo Tower to look over the city, see where we might want to go see, that was my plan...." She then blushes a bit more. "But we never went anywhere. We just kinda... went up there, talked a little... Then I kissed her... For like... two minutes... And I think it was like an hour later before we finally stopped holding each other..."

Ari blinks, and her smile slowly goes from a little smile to a wide grin. "Wow.. that's awesome! Two minutes? An hour?" She kind of bounces in her seat again, guitar project forgotten. "I am so freaking happy for you! And I meant it when I said I want a wedding invite." She sticks her tongue out.

Violet says, "Hey now, we've not even been dating a whole week yet, don't get ahead of yourself!"

Ari wrinkles her nose. "I'm just putting it out there. I'm guessing you didn't hear her response." she laughs.

Violet says, "That you'll be the first to know when she proposes?" She smirks. "Yeah, I heard... It's really wierd, I really feel like she's a lot more into me than I'm into her... and that's saying a lot." She then actually frowns, though. "I'm a little worried, though. It's kind of a... too good to be true thing, you know? I mean... god damn, we have good chemistry, but... I worry it's all just that... mutual crush thing going on, and that it's, in the end... shallow. For both of us. I feel like... like we're too much into each other. Like we hit it off too fast..." She sighs and puts her head down on the table. "I don't want it to be like that, but there's just that nagging feeling in the back of my head..."

Ari thinks about that for a second, and then well, shifts a little. Very few people know how kinda wise Ari can be, especially in situations like this. "Okay then, tell her that. Then say no makeouts or sex until you two really know each other better. More dates, and see how you feel in a month. But actually go on a date and not just do whatever you did in the tower. Limit the kissing to like, 15 seconds, and maybe like, 3 an hour." she nibbles her lip in thought. "And if she doesn't accept those terms, you'll know right away.

Violet takes a breath in... She's considering it, but it's clear that Violet isn't happy with those terms, herself. "Uhhh.... maybe... but... Ari, I've not had sex in years, I'm..." She sighs. "I'll think about it. Maybe in a bit... But if it is shallow... I don't want to throw even that away just yet."

Ari arches a brow a bit. "You're... what?" She smiles a little. "If it is shallow and you're okay with that, just enjoy the gooshy feelings. And if it isn't shallow.. then enjoy the journey. If it makes you feel better, I have a really good feeling about you two.

Violet shrugs. "I dunno what I was gonna say. But... yeah. I love every moment I'm with her... And I'm too afraid to lose that, even if it's not going to be as long as I'd like." She smiles a bit sadly. "But I'm still hopeful, if worried... I've kinda already been doing what you said... I... stopped a makeout session." She blushes a bit more fiercely. "Okay, that was more because we were just in the loft and I was afraid the kids might come across us, but... Yeah. She didn't seem to have a problem with it, and we went out to eat..."

Ari snickers. "The loft? Aren't there cameras there? Raven's a stickler for security..." she grins. "But if she had no problem with it, then that's a good sign, right?

Violet says, "Wait, what?!" She blushes a bit more red at that. "Yeah, well, another reason that it was good I stopped..."

Ari snickers. "You're lucky I don't have access to those feeds.

Violet groans and plants her face on the table again. "I can't beleive I almost..."

Miriya arrives in the UR. and looks around for a table or something.

Ari laughs again, a little harder. "Oh man... I may have to sneak in and get that recording...

Miriya smiles "Greetings Violet. and... I don't think I've been introduced to your friend.

Violet glares at Ari. "Don't you dare..." She then looks over to Miriya and waves. Distraction! "Hey, Lieutenant!" Yes, she's apparently decided to call Miriya by her rank if she's in uniform. "This is Ari, my... Ex step-aunt."

Ari grins, still snickering. "Your right, I don't have to. I can have one of the kids bring me a copy. And that's an awkward way of saying I'm her friend." She sticks her hand out. "Nice to meet you.

Miriya arches an eyebrow. "That sounds complicated" and offers her hand as well. "A pleasure I'm sure.

Violet says, "Ari... I don't think that particular video would be appropriate for an 11 year old to find. Okay, so... nothing really got that far, but uh..." Somehow she gets even more red. "It was about to."

Ari grins at Violet. "Marque's just about 16. He's seen worse." She shakes Miriya's hand with a smile.

Violet says, "I do not want him making copies of his ex-step-sister for that kind of use!"

Miriya cocks her head at the conversation. "date went well?"

Violet groans. "Meeting ahead of a date went well. Can we talk about something else?"

Miriya ponders "I hear the Osaka Tigers are doing well this year?"

Ari snickers even more, turning it into laughter. "Sneak in it is, then!"

Violet just groans again. "Ari, you're a monster..."

Ari grins, then thinks, taking her PDA out. "Maybe, but I'm cute and awesome and you love me." She starts scrolling through something.

Violet turns to Miriya. "Osaka Tigers? who are they?"

Miriya queries "A local sports team? I think.

Ari says almost offhandedly. "Oh look, Raven didn't deactivate my access to her servers...

Violet's attention shifts right back to Ari. "Gyiiihhhk!"

Miriya takes a moment to order an burger and an orange soda.

Ari whistles a little, scrolling, scrolling...

Violet scrambles to try to snag Ari's PDA away from her. "Ari! Knock it off!" Yeah, she can't get any more red at this point.

Miriya awaits her order taking a seat near Violet and Ari

Ari jumps from her seat in the chair and flips back. "Oooh, gotta love that new cybernetics feel... I'm extra springy!" she grins.

Violet blinks, stopping grabbing at the PDA. "Wait, new cybernetics? Does this have something to do with the goo? What happened?!"

Ari nods a bit. "Raven zapping me pretty consistently for a decade fried my old ones, so Mitsuo custom made me some new ones. Hence the days in the goo. Nanites an all that.

Violet says, "Oh... wow, I never had a clue you had cybernetics to begin with..." She then suddenly makes another grab for the PDA."

Miriya get's her burger and starts chewing delicately on it.

Ari smirks, letting her grab it. "It's genetically linked so only I can access it, and backs up everything I do on it to my system at home. With a heavy encryption. And yes, knees, hips, and elbows are all feeling brand new."

Violet grabs the device and looks at it... And then groans and drops back into a chair again. "Damnit... I'll have to be more careful in the future..."

Miriya murmurs "You could shoot it. you know.

Ari chuckles. "Don't worry, I'll only watch it in the privacy of my own home.. that I share with my boyfriend and girlfriend... and I'm craving popcorn..."

Miriya takes another small bite of her burger and washes it down with a swig of orange soda.

Violet shakes her head at Miriya. "No, she'll still just access the cameras with her home computer. Aaaaand I can't tell Raven that she still has access, because I don't know how Raven will react to me still seeing Ari as a friend, considering their current relationship..." She sighs a bit dejectedly. "Damnit, Ari."

Ari grins. "I may be persuaded not to... if you cater to my ego." she grins at Violet, plopping down in the seat again and holding a hand out for the PDA.

Skeeve appears in that burst of purple smoke, arm in arm with Miriam. "...so, anyway, that's why they call them the *Deathly* Hallows."

Violet sighs and hands it back over. "And what are the terms of your blackmail?"

Miriam nods slowly, "So, then, the explosion in Tartarus was entirely accidental?

Ari grins as Skeeve and Miriam enter. "Hey guys! You are not gonna believe this!" she taps her PDA, then looks at Violet. "Oh, tell me how awesome I am. Make me believe it."

Violet's left eyebrow twitches. "Truely you are the most awseome of all being that can be found in this or any other realm." No... she doesn't sound very convincing.

Skeeve offers an enthusiastic wave out to Ari. "Hey, sweetheart!" As he leads Miriam over in their direction, he asides, "Completely accidental. In fact, there's a pretty strong theory that it was in fact absolutely coincidental."

Miriya continues to daintily eat her burger. spacing the bites with sips of her orange soda.

Miriam nods, "Go figure." she grins and waves to Ari as well, "Long time!" she winks. After a pause and a blink, she says "Absolutely? Wow."

Ari says, "Yeah, not feeling it." She smirks towards Skeeve and Miri. "Guess who was making out with her new friend at Raven's place and forgot to check for security cameras?"

Violet says, "Damnit, I'm not a good actress, Ari! Not nearly as good as you are!" Well... she's trying..."

Miriya ponders "You were seen pressing lips together?"

Violet groans again, setting her face on the table. "To put it lightly, yes."

Skeeve sweatdrops just a little bit, pulling out a seat at Ari and Violet's table, pretty much just dropping into the air. In a completely unscandalized voice, he says, "Oh my stars and garters." Picking up a menu, he adds, "So why are you blackmailing her again, then?"

Miriya continues to chew slowly on her burger.

Ari grins at Skeeve. "For funsies." She turns back to Violet. "Better. but with more gusto!

Miriam blinks, "Security cameras? How do cameras make anything more secure?" she pauses, "Wait, I could... um, nevermind." She smiles at Violet, and tries to help, "No. Let me show you." She peers at Ari, and reaches out to take her hand. Regardless of hand-holding, she continues on, "Ari, you are brilliant. You were able to take advantage of a momentary lapse, and turn it to your own advantage. I can only hope you will use your incredible talents," she grins and winks, "all of them..." minor pause, then continues, "for good, because turned to evil, you would be unstoppable. You are wonderful, and amazing, and I am fortunate to even be in your presence." She doesn't look away. Not for an instant.

Miriya sips her soda. "So I guess we aren't talking about the local sports team?"

Violet grits her teeth and gives it another shot. "Oh Ari, you are the most amazing person who ever walked the earth or flew through space. You can even fly through an event horizon and get back out alive. Your figure is amazing and your brains are without par." Unfortunately, Violet is kind of a lousy liar or actress when stressed out like this, and she just can't quite make it sound convincing.

Ari blows a kiss to Miriam, the turns to Violet. "See? That is how it's done!" She chuckles. "Besides, 1, you're hardly the first person to have a scandalous video of them at this table. 2, hardly scandalous because it was just makeouts, right? I haven't watched it, nor do I plan to because 3, you're family and me watching that would be like me watching my sister. Not cool.

Skeeve just grins a little bit at Miriam and Violet's efforts, and opens his mouth to offer to review it, when he thinks better of it. Besides, a more tempting avenue of conversation has presented itself. "Definitely not local sports teams, no, Miriya. So, Ari... there are scandalous videos of you floating around out there, and you haven't *shared*?"

Violet groans and plants her face onto the table again. "Damn you, Ari. Making me freak out over nothing!"

Miriam grins and blows a kiss back to Ari, and takes a small bow. She deliberately doesn't sit down, instead choosing to lean against Skeeve as he reclines in thin air.

Miriya finishes her burger and dabs her lips with a napkin. Then takes another drink of her orange soda.

Ari smirks. "It wasn't for nothing. I was entertained!" She pats Violet on the head, then wrinkles her nose at Skeeve. "One, I wasn't aware they were being taken. Two, the French are jerks. Three, they are in French so I don't know if you'd understand the dialogue, and four, kind of odd if the ones I'm romantically involved with watch videos of me with people I am no longer romantically involved with. Though I do have copies because I look fantastic. And also have blackmail against them if they try that drek again on anyone else.

Skeeve pauses for a moment, glances around, and then hooks his foot in the leg of the chair, pulling it back under him properly, before settling into the CHair. Slipping an arm around Miriam's waist, he replies cheerily, "Oh, I'm just teasing you, sweetheart. I know if you'd wanted us to see it, we'd have seen it already."

Miriam asides, now that she figures it's settled, "It's really only odd if you're not on board with it." She winks, then giggles, "Definitely entertainment. Fun is always worth it!" She leans against Skeeve's side, but eyes Ari's PDA uncomfortably, like she's waiting for it to bite.

Miriya pushes back slightly from the table and continues to sip her drink. "Remind me to be very cautious around you. Entertainment is apparantly not a movie."

Ari notices Miriam's look, and takes the PDA back and puts it in her bag, smiling before turning to Miriya. "Well, in this case, it kind of was." She chuckles. "I wouldn't do anything to really hurt Violet. She's one of my best friends.

Miriya puts down her drink for a moment and says "Well I suppose that is reassuring. I have enough trouble with Otaku trying to steal my underwear."

Skeeve nearly spills his complimentary glass of water at that. "I have to say, that is a problem that I have never experienced." Flagging down a waitress, he adds, "Not that I would have expected to, but still."

Ari takes the guitar case off the table in preparations for more stuff coming, and sips her beer.

Miriam blinks, "Is underwear-theft usually a problem here? I don't remember it..." She grins at Ari, then just plunks herself in Skeeve's lap, "Thanks."

Miriya frowns. "It has been an occasional... Annoyance.

Ari shrugs. "So stop wearing it? That's what I'd do.

Skeeve laughs a little bit at that. "I have to say, I don't see a downside there."

Violet finally lifts her head from the table. "Why have you not demoted that guy back down to janitor yet?"

Miriya laughs. "Oh he's just the latest one. Half the Space Defence Force is composed of Otaku.

Miriya says, "I made him an object lesson I think the Micronian term is 'pour encourager les autres'"

Miriam now looks really confused, "Half the space force wants to steal your underpants? How do you keep them in stock? Can you just buy a whole bunch wholesale, and leave a bin in front of the door, so they stay out of your space?"

Ari snickers at that. "Good call." she finishes her beer and pouts.

Miriya says, "Not all Otaku are underwear thieves. Usually breaking an arm stops them for awhile."

Skeeve, as the waitress comes by, orders another round for the table, and a milkshake for himself. Grinning broadly, he asks, "Anything for you, Miriam?" There's no way he's getting involved in *that* explanation, not for a million dollars

Violet says, "'For a while'? Damn. I'm glad I'm a Neotokyo Original, then, and don't have fanboys..."

Miriya says, "The most recent one got taken off flight duties until he heals so."

Miriam nods absently, "Lemonade, please," she peers at Miriya, "Your job is much more dangerous than it seems, isn't it?"

Miriya smirks. "Mostly for others."

Ari ponders. "I have made a decision! I will not be sober tonight!"

Violet glances at Ari. "You know what? screw it. Me neither. Make mine a screwdriver!

Miriya sips her orange soda.

Skeeve says, "Lemondade, and apparently a screwdriver." As the waitress heads off to get drinks, reflecting that this doesn't even break the top three weirdest conversations this week, Skeeve says, "Alright then, I'd say gimme your keys, Ari, but I'm the car. Vi, give Miriya your keys.. or launch codes... or whatever. I don't know how giant robots work."

Miriam blinks, then grins, "Fair point." She nods to Ari, "Round Next is on its way!"

Ari snickers at Skeeve, trying not to make the joke she so desperately wants, the company is too nice. "Yay next round! But when those drinks get here, you guys should order something for yourselves. " she nods, grinning.

Violet says, "Meh. I took public transit, no worries." She shrugs. "They tend to not like me pilotting Victoria around for 'funsies.'"

Miriya nods "There are Reg-u-lations. Micronians love their rules.

Skeeve chortles a little bit at that. "Don't we just." Kissing Miriam on the back of the head lightly, he says, "And while you're free to order whatever you like, Miri, I think at least one of ought to be sober. As the least responsible of us, I volunteer."

Miriam pauses, "Skeeve, if you're the car, what happens if you not be sober?" No, she legit doesn't know the phrasing there. She then blinks at Ari, "But I did just order something for me?"

Ari smiles at Miriam. "It was a joke, love. Promise."

Skeeve laughs a little bit at that, cheerily. "It's a peculiar quirk of faerie biology, Ari. Fruit juices do for her what alcohol does for us. That's why there was so much apple juice on the grocery list."

Ari chuckles. "I drank like, half of that, today. I'm still in the eating like crazy recovery mode.

Violet says, "Well, Ari here is what's driving me to drink today." She then raises an eyebrow at the mention of Miriam getting drunk off normal fruit juice. "...What, the sugar does it? Or what?"

Miriya says, "I will stick to my soda. Unlike Khyron I've never been too drunk to do my duty."

Miriam objects! "I only put one bottle on there, Skeeve, and that's NOT a lot! The lady at the store with all the short people around her cart had SIX bottles."

Skeeve lightly ruffles Miriam's hair, grinning. "I know, I put the rest in there for you. But it's different for humans; it doesn't get them drunk. " To Violet, he says, "Well, I mean, I haven't done an in-depth study of it, but if I had to make an educated guess, I would say it's specifically unrefined, natural sugars; sweets or soda won't do it. I'm sure there's a mystical component to it."

Violet says, "Well, I, for one, am glad I can drink orange juice and not get drunk. And that I can have vodka added to it to get drunk."

Ari thinks a moment, gets up, and heads to a waiter. They have a short conversation where it looks like the waiter is fairly confused at whatever the half-elf is saying, but nods and heads to the kitchen. A moment later he comes out with a freshy rinsed head of iceberg lettuce. Ari smiles, thanks him, and heads back to the table, where she proceeds to take bites of the head of lettuce like it was an apple.

Miriya sips her soda.

Miriam sniffs, only mostly appeased. She huffs a little, then sits back against Skeeve and waits. She blinks at Ari, then shrugs, apparently chalking it up to tank, or maybe vegetarians, or just Ari being Ari. She smiles fondly at the elf, and looks over her shoulder at Skeeve.

Violet says, "Uhhhh.... Ari? Should I bother asking?"

Skeeve just shrugs a little bit at Miriam, and grins, kissing her lightly on the cheek. As the drinks arrive, he lifts up his milkshake in a toast. "I'll drink to that, Vi." Taking a sip, he just grins a little bit at Ari's 'snack'. "I'm sure it's an elf thing."

Ari kind of scowls. "I'm hungry. I like lettuce, I didn't want a full salad. Quit acting like I'm weird." she frowns.

Violet raises her drink as well. "Here's to not getting blackmailed." >.> "I told you, Ari, I'm a horrible actress."

Miriam shrugs, "We're all weird. Why would you be any different?" she grins, "He," she jerks her thumb at Skeeve, "turns into a girl, I'm variably-sized, you eat lettuce like fruit." She shrugs again, apparently just dismissing these things as 'eh, whatever' types of things. She raises her lemonade, "Indeed!"

Ari wrinkles her nose at Violet. "Wasn't just you."

Violet says, "And I'm the friggin' daughter of Jack Karrde and Admiral Maniko Hurris." She takes a swig of her drink. "Should I go on with how wierd I am, or was that sufficient?"

Skeeve smiles a little. "Weird is our baliwick, Ari. Besides, we love you just the way you are, so don't go changing on us." He's quiet for a moment. "I'm sorry if it felt like we were putting you on the spot, though. Wasn't my intention."

Miriam shrugs, "If it means something to you, then rock on your weird self." She has very little idea about the who's-who anymore. She grins at Violet, then nods to Ari, "Definitely not intended. And he's right, we're *good* at weird, and we *do* love you just like you are!"

Ari quietly gets up, takes the head of lettuce, and walks back over to the poor confused waiter. He takes the lettuce and disappears into the kitchen. Ari walks back over to the table and sits back down.

Violet says, "Ari! Eat what you wanna eat! To hell with everyone else!" She pauses a moment before adding, "Just don't, you know, go cannibal or something."

Skeeve watches Ari with a concerned expression on his face. "Hey... what's wrong?"

Miriam looks concerned as well, but also looks like she's thinking really hard about something.

Ari folds her arms across her chest. "Nothing wrong, I'm just waiting for my salad." she says, matter-of-factly.

Miriya simply looks curious.

Violet takes another swig of her drink, then shrugs. "You know what? I may go for a salad today, as well."

Skeeve nods a few times at that, slowly, not looking totally convinced, but clearly willing to let the matter stand. "Alright, that's fair." After a moment, he adds, "You know, I've never tried the salads here, actually. They any good?"

Miriam is mostly just kind of clueless, but at least she *knows* she's clueless. Instead of saying anything at all, she has a sip of her lemonade, and waits to see how this shakes out.

Violet shrugs. "I hope they're not plain. I like a lot of interesting stuff in my salads." After another swig of her drink, she smirks.

Miriya puts down her empty soda can on the plate that held her burger.

Ari says, "Haven't had a bad one yet, actually."

Violet says, "I've had bad salads. Lotsa lettuce, too much dressing, no fruits or nuts or nothing. Those're boring salads!" she nods a bit too enthusastically. Yes... Violet is a notorious lightweight."

Skeeve says, "Well, that's definitely something." He sets his empty glass down on the table. "Despite the vastness of the menu here, I tend to order like the same five things every time I come here. I've had enough adventures in food for one lifetime..." He kind of sideeyes at Violet. "...is that still your first drink?"

Miriam blinks, "You know, I think I've only ever come in here to have an occasional drink? I don't think I've ever eaten here." She pauses, then has some more lemonade, then nods a little, "I'll have to fix that sometime, I think."

Ari thanks the waiter as her salad comes in a small bowl, and picks up her fork, taking a small bite.

Violet says, "Shutup, Skeeve. I'm a lightweight, I know it." She takes a heavy swig. "So was my sister, but I never caught my mother drinking, so I dunno if it comes from her or not." She gives Miriam a look as well, saying, "Sooooo, why not now, exactly?"

The doors of the Usual Restaurant swing open and a small pokedotted car zooms into the restaurant. It makes a loop around the length of the restaurant before making a stop near the bar. Then then one of the doors open up and a cavalcade of clowns start coming out One, two, till somehow a dozen come out. Then Kibi comes out, then the clowns pile back in and small car drives out the door..

Miriya arches an eyebrow. "That was... as they say...a thing.

Violet blinks at Kibi's entrance... and then looks down at her drink, questioning her decision to drink alcohol this evening.

Miriam blinks, "Because I had some vegetable stir fry in orange sauce before I left home?" She shrugs, "I came out to be social, I ate at home." She smiles a little, "Excellent job, by the way, Skeeve." She eyes the procession as Kibi arrives, and nods slowly. She looks to Miriya, "Indeed."

Kibi hums a tune to herself hopping up onto a stool at the bar and orders some ice cream!

Ari continues to eat her salad, offering a wave to Kibi.

Kibi waves back to Ari!

Skeeve raises his hands in supplication at that, clearly amused. "Pax, pax." Whatever he was about to add to that is interrupted by a veritable parade of clowns... and Kibi. Offering the girl a casual wave, he turns back to the table. "Okay. So.. this is going back a bit. But I have a question. How exactly did you get your hands on security camera footage, Ari? I mean, clearly that's the sort of thing that's well within your talents, but, did you just get lucky and snag it at the right time?"

Miriam trades in her now empty lemonade for a new one. She blinks, then nods slowly, "Hey, yeah!" She pauses, "Wait, security cameras have feet? Is that how they keep things secure? They wander around and... do something?"

Ari says simply "Raven didn't delete my credentials from her security protocols. So all I had to do was log in to the server and look."

Violet blinks, looking at Miriam as she asks about security camera feet. "...How long have you been here?" Yeah, her tact is a little lessened.

Miriam thinks, "Here, specifically? Today, about an hour or so? This poof? A couple weeks or so? Then I was somewhere NOT here, and before that I was here again for maybe two or three years?"

Miriya finished with her meal, get's up from the table and says simple "I should go"

Violet takes a moment to interpret Miriam's answer. "So... you were in Neotokyo for three years. An' you didn't learn about technological things?"

Miriam waves to Miriya, "Good luck - and maybe try that underpants bin sometime!"

Miriya nods and waves. "I was thinking of escalating to breaking both legs. Your way might be more effective.

Violet says, "Awww. See ya later, Miriya! Yeah, you should, like, set traps and stuff in the bin, too! Make it easy to catch the guy!"

Ari waves to Miriya, still eating.

Miriam grins, "Or, at least, easier. Both on you *and* the hospital."

Miriya Waves again, generally.

Miriya says, "Oh it's no problem for me."

Miriya walks out to the street.

Skeeve looks up, offering a wave to Miriya. "Well, later, then." As an aside to Violet, he says, "Miriam and electronics tend to not get along too well... with the occasional explosive result." He mulls over Ari's answer for a few moments. "Is that something you can do, like, remotely? Or do you have to ninj into the warehouse to get at it? I'm not too solid on this stuff myself."

Miriam mostly just understood something about erasers, papers, procedures, and logging operations. She's absolutely confused, and as such, just sips her lemonade.

Kibi happily eat her ice cream, the coveration going on isn't her business anyway.

Violet says, "Duuuuude. That sucks. I like some good technolological stuff. Spaceships, computers, all that stuff. I don't know what I'd do if I was stuck without being able to use any of it."

Ari finishes her salad, and puts the fork down next to the bowl. "I accessed it from my PDA." she reaches into her bag, pulls out some cash, and puts it on the table. "Sorry to eat and run, but I do have a workout routine to follow or Mitsuo will scold me."

Skeeve furrows his brow at that. Sliding out from underneath Miriam, he gets back to his feet. "Can I talk to you for a moment before you go, Ari?"

Miriam shrugs, "I'd rather have the magic." She sips her lemonade, then tilts her head to the side, looking a little confused, and blinks as she's shuffled to the chair. She pauses, nods, and then simply nods again, "Work hard, right?"

Ari looks at Skeeve. "Sure." she says coolly.

Violet says, "Awww. Leaving already, Auntie Ari? Well, you keep working those new limbs! Then you'll know what they can do!" She finishes off her glass and wipes her mouth. "I'd rather have both! But I don't have the patience to learn magic."

Miriam shrugs and smiles a little, "I never really had to learn it. Not really. I *am* it. And yes, I had to learn some things, but you had to learn how to use a computer, right?" She smiles crookedly, "We're working on that 'both' thing, but we have to finish the experiments."

Skeeve steps a little bit away from the table, hoping that Ari will follow, speaking to her quietly.

Violet says, "And then it'll be awesome! Both and everything!" She nods, then looks over at Skeeve and Ari with a tilted head. "Don't let him see the video!"

Miriam giggles a little, though she watches out of the corner of her eye. She nods to Violet, "Both. It'll be great. And then... well, they won't let me back in the library, but I could actually use a computer! All by myself!"

Ari crosses her arms, talking quietly to Skeeve, clearly not amused.

Violet narrows her eyes as she looks at Miriam. "Whhhhyyyyy are you banned from th'library?"

Miriam shrugs a little, "Remember how computers don't like me? And sometimes they explode? Well, sometimes they explode and set off fire alarms, which set off sprinklers, which hurt books, and blow up other computers, and then they ban you from the library."

Violet nods a little too enthusiastically. "Oooooooooooh, yyyyeah, that's bad." She then looks to her now emptied glass, wondering if she should order another or not.

Alexa strolls in, taking her hat off because well, she has manners.

Miriam flags down the waiter, and orders Vi another, but with the components in separate glasses. A DIY screwdriver! Drink of DIY-ers everywhere! And also a water. And a lemonade for her. She's not done the second yet, but still, it seems the polite thing to do.

Violet says, "Wha? Why seperate?" She looks a little confused by that... And Alexa would likely notice she's slurring a little. "Wha'ever. Thanks Miriam! I don't remember you when I was dating Skeeve back then. Where you just missing, or were you not there yet? I dunn rememember if it was before or after three years, now that I'm thinkin'." She doesn't seem to have noticed Alexa walking in just yet, alas."

Skeeve is standing off to one side, talking with Ari quietly. He looks suitably chastened.

Alexa grins and walks over to Violet, standing behind her, watching with a rather amused look on her face, not saying anything quite yet.

Miriam grins, "That way you can decide for yourself if you should really have another one. 'Cause I don't know you well enough to know. So now you can have it if you want it, have the juice if you'd rather, or the water if you'd rather not at all!" she smiles cheerily, "I don't think I was around then. I'm pretty sure I'd have remembered." She blinks slightly, looks briefly to Skeeve and Ari, then up to Alexa and back to Violet. "You're a pilot, right? If I were around then I mighta exploded your plane, and that would be much worse than being banned from the library."

Ari is still talking quietly with Skeeve, looking suitably frustrated.

Violet says, "And I am so very very glad you didn't blow up Victoria. Or Victory Mark 2. Whichever I was flying at the time." She pauses again, now looking confused. "Did I have a gundam yet back then? I dunn even remember anymore. I dunn remember when anything exactly happened anymore." She sighs and leans back... right into Alexa. She blinks and looks up. "Heeeeeey! Lookin' good up there!"

Alexa laughs a little as she's leaned on suddenly. "Evenin' Miss Violet. I see we're a li'l sauced tonight."

Miriam nods sagely, "Me too. I'd hate to have to figure out how to replace a whole *plane.*" She grins and sips her lemonade, then after a slightly-long blink grins as Violet realizes there's someone new here.

Violet says, "I've had ONE drink. I'm just a horrible lightweight." She reaches over her head with both arms with the intent of putting them around Alexa."

Ari turns on her heel, and marches towards the door.

Miriam smiles and watches. She sips her lemonade, and looks actually oddly like she's talking to someone.

Violet says, "Jeeeeeze, Skeeve, what'd you say t'her?"

Alexa laughs a bit, then finds a chair to scoot next to Violet. "Easier if I was next to ya for that, darlin'." She blinks as she watches Ari's .. march? "Is she alright?"

Skeeve lets out a sigh, offering Ari's retreating back a wave. "Good luck with your workout."

Ari says nothing as she walks out the door, practically slamming it behind her.

Violet says, "Dude... the hell did you SAY?" before she leans on Alexa."

Miriam blinks. She looks at Skeeve and nods a little, "Pardon me, please, ladies?" She stands up, and smiles a little, "I'll be back in a moment or ten."

Skeeve shakes his head a little bit, turning to walk back to the table. "It was the 'elf thing' bit. She's sensitive about it, and I even know why she's sensitive about it, but I have the uncanny superpower to open my mouth without thinking and say the absolute worst thing with the best of intentions."

Miriam kisses Skeeve on the cheek as she passes. She nods a little and waves as she heads toward the door... and then vanishes.

Violet says, "Weeeeelp. Yeah. You screwed up bad there... Bye, Miriam!" She snuggles into Alexa a bit. Apparently she's happy enough with not drinking any more tonght, ebcause the vodka has gone untouched. Granted, so has the orange juice."

Alexa slips her arms around Violet, just observing the others a moment before looking back to her. "Just one? You ain't kiddin' about bein' a lightweight."

Violet sighs happily in Alexa's arms. "See? This is why I usually don't drink unless I'm feeling down... But today I just kinna felt like it, I'm okay."

Alexa grins and kisses her cheek. "Noted. An' you're cute when you're tipsy.

Skeeve walks right back to the table, nodding a little. "Yes... yes I certainly did. But for the moment, that's neither here nor there." Flagging down a waitress for the bill, he says, "Nice to see you again, Alexa. I'll give you two some privacy, I don't wanna bring down the mood."

Violet says, "I'm cute no matter what state I'm in!" She then frowns at Skeeve. "You need to go compliment her up the wazoo! If you don't think her ears are adorable then you're wrong."

Alexa nods to Skeeve. "Good to see you too. Sorry about your troubles." She rolls her eyes at Violet, smirking. "No, you're beautiful no matter what. Right now you're jus' cute as well."

Violet pouts ever so slightly. "So you're saying I'm not always cute? You're so cruel. Then I won't say you're always hot."

Alexa laughs. "Well, you're constantly cute, too. So when I say you're cute, jus' take it to mean cuter than usual."

Skeeve nods a little bit at that, suppressing just a hint of a smile at Violet's commentary. "They're very adorable. Have a good night, you two." He waves a little bit to the two of them, heads for the door.

Violet waves to Skeeve, continueing to frown. "Damnit, they'd better make up," she says a little too early, with Skeeve likely still in earshot. "I don't wanna see Ari mad."

Alexa hugs Violet closer. "I'm sure they'll be fine. Love finds a way an' all that."

Violet snuggles in now that no one else she knows is here, wrapping her arms around Alexa and rubbing her cheek on the other woman's jacketted shoulder. "I want it to find a way with us. I don't want this to be some flash bang romance." Alcohol looses tongues, and Violet's expressing the worry she's too afraid to address sober. "S'awesome."

Alexa smiles at that, kissing the top of her head. "That's what I want too, darlin'. I want to go beyond what we have now. I ain't into the whole.. flash bang as ya put it. I told you I'm in for the long haul, an' I meant it.

Violet says, "I know you mean it... but it's like... We're so hot together, I'm afraid we'll burn out." She then laughs, catching a double meaning to her words that she hadn't intended."

Alexa laughs a little, leaning her head on Violet's. "Darlin', if you think I ain't still gonna be hot for you fifty years down the road, you're sorely mistaken.

Violet says, "Heee... It'll be awesome... And hopefully I'll still be just as hot for you." She closes her eyes with a slight hum of satisfaction."

Alexa laughs a bit. "I hope so too. At least I'm gonna make sure I try hard so you do.

Violet says, "Well... We'll just have to see what happens. I kinda feel like... I want the future here. I want to know how it turns out, I'm worrying my self sick."

Alexa smiles, then pulls Violet into her lap. "I want the future here, too. A lot. I want our little ship."

Violet doesn't take much effort to pull into Alexa's lap, as she pulls herself along once the intent is known. She now leans her head againt Alexa's since she's a bit too far up to lean it on her shoulder now, but she doesn't seem to mind. "Well, we're gonna have to do something to make that ship be a thing we have. I'll ask around... see if that's something we might reasonably find in the Badlands, or if it's something we need to start saving up for?" She then frowns a bit. "Meh. If we found one in the Badlands, it'd probably be in horrible shape and we'd have to fix it up, anyway. Probably better off saving up to just buy one." She sighs a bit at that... that's going to cost a small fortune.

Alexa thinks a moment. "Well, maybe I'll try my luck in these.. Badlands. I don't want you spendin' any money you don' have to on account of I ain't got any.

Violet says, "Alexa... It's really, really dangerous there. You're a pilot... how are you at combat on the ground? I've got powers and crazy strength and stuff, and I'm still wanting more training before I'm going in..." She holds onto Alexa more tightly. "When we go in, it's gonna be with more than just the two of us. We have to be cautious."

Alexa says, "Well I sure ain't got any powers or nothin', just my gun." she frowns. "If you got friends that can help, I would be grateful to 'em."

Violet nods to Alexa. "Skeeve and Ari, for two. Jason and Minerva... Frey... I'll ask around... Same as finding out if we could have any hope of just... finding a ship."

Alexa smiles a little, gently raising Violet's eyes to hers. "I love you. We'll find one I know it." she kisses her softly.

Violet returns the kiss, her hands moving up to Alexa's cheeks before ending it and pulling away slightly. "...I have to go... They've still got me on that early shift."

Alexa smiles a little, nodding. "It'll get better. Get some sleep, darlin'. You're beautiful.

Violet kisses Alexa again briefly, then looks around, remembering they're in a very public place. "As are you, love. I'll see you tomarrow, I hope?" With that said, she slides off Alexa's lap.

Alexa smiles. "I'll try, darlin'. I'll try."
