Alexa is sitting at a table with a beer and a plate of what appears to be chicken wings, happily munching.

Violet steps into the Usual Restaurant and glances around. Spotting Alexa, she smiles and walks over to her table. "There you are!" she says as she takes a seat. "Sorry things went long, I actually went up to look over things at Phoenix. Apparently the bridge is completely open to vacuum at the moment."

Alexa puts down the wing she just finished and smiles. "Hey beautiful! That's great! Cleanup is one of the final steps, right?" she chuckles before sipping her beer. "I have been trying out new foods. I ain't never seen a buffalo before, but their wings are pretty damn good!"

Violet blinks and looks at the wings. "Buffalo? Huh. It looks like chicken... I wonder if it's a similar animal, like turkey?" No, Violet's not actually any more knowledgeable about this one, either. The joys of skipping nearly all of one's childhood years. "What's it taste like?" She gives Alexa a quick kiss on the cheek as after she scoots her chair a few inches closer.

Alexa gestures to the plate. "Help yourself, darlin'!" she smiles. "And the buffalo does seem bird like. Either way it's good." she picks up another one. "The sauce does seem to have a bite to it though."

Violet indeed does grab one and takes a bite of the meat off the bone. "Woo, it does have a kick to it! And it also does really taste a lot like chicken under that sauce." She fans her face lightly as she glances about for the waitstaff.

Alexa grins. "I wouldn't know chicken from anythin' else. Either way, I can get used to eatin' stuff like this." she dips the wing in some blue cheese and takes another bite.

Violet blinks at Alexa, now looking surprised at her. "Really? You've not had the chicken fingers or anything? By the way, the 'finger' part isn't literally on that one. I thought chicken was pretty universal, though... you didn't have them in your universe?" She then blinks and frowns at her own words arguably making the point against her.

Alexa shrugs. "Most of my dinners came out of cans, really. We sometimes get dried meat, but.. well, ain't always sure what it is, you know? All the good stuff was for the Alliance."

Violet looks a bit concerned now. "Not even like... before the war? Or after it, for that matter? Don't you... visit planets with their own foods and stuff?"

Alexa nods. "Well, yeah, but I usually stayed on the ship, and we mostly stayed in the outer rim. Not really gourmet out there, you know?

Violet sighs and shakes her hed. "I dunno. I've... kinda always been near more heavily populated areas. NeoTokyo here on Earth, of course, and then I was usually based around Avia in my mother's universe. Second most important Tyrian world, the way she talked about it. Cultural hotspot and all. I'd say it was probably classier than here... But then again, I was adopted into a noble house, so that might have skewed the places I got dragged to from time to time. At any rate, even on Eagle Flare, I knew what animals my meat came from."

Alexa smiles as she listens. "It ain't that big a deal. Food is food." she chuckles. "As long as it ain't gonna kill me, I ain't gonna complain."

Violet, now that one of the waitstaff has returned, orders herself a chicken salad and glass of orange soda. "Yeah, but... Not knowing what you're eating... that kind of... can kill you. I mean, what if you find out you're allergic to something? Like... shellfish or something? Then you wanna know what you're eating so it doesn't flat out kill you."

Alexa chuckles. "Then I guess I'm lucky? But bein' the pilot meant I ain't touchin' the food to begin with. I trusted the cooks."

Violet tilts her head as she glances to the side, considering the point. "Yeah, I guess you've got a point. So you're just not a... foodie, I think the term was?" She shrugs. "Well, I guess I probably will end up being the cook for us, then."

Alexa grins, leaning over to give Violet a kiss on the cheek. "Darlin', I've been introduced to flavor, and I ain't never lookin' back. I'm more than happy to learn."

Violet smiles at the kiss to her cheek and leans her head on Alexa's shoulder. "Heheheh.... Well, that would explain your... attempt the other week. Well, I guess we just both need to learn, but I think we need to actually have someone to teach us." She sighs and frowns. "I keep managing to not be able to line things up with Minerva when I think about it, though."

Alexa leans her head against Violet's. "We got time, beautiful. All the time in the world." she smiles. "Besides, we can always eat here, too."

Violet hums slightly. "Yeah, well, we should have more options than this place, I think. We need to go to more places, try new things. The other day I went to another place with my pops... Get this... there's an UNusual restaurant in town, too. I'm pretty sure it's got nothing to do with this place. I've been there twice."

Alexa nods, sipping her beer. "Sounds like a future date to me." she chuckles. "We should try to eat at every place. Because we can."

Violet nods, the motion also translating into her nuzzling Alexa slightly. "Every place we can! Because we live way below our means and neither of us know how to cook!"

Alexa laughs a little at that. "Well, I still ain't used to makin' money like this. Maybe we should just hire a chef."

Violet laughs and shakes her head. "We don't make THAT much money! We can't pay for someone else to live!"

Alexa turns her head to kiss the top of Violet's. "Fair enough. Cooking classes it is!"

Violet says, "Hrrrrm." She twists her head slightly as she considers this. "Like... a professional cooking teacher, as opposed to just... a friend showing us?"

Alexa shrugs a little. "I'm good for either. Plus you say I need to make more friends anyway." she blinks. "Oh, and apparently I made one. A... pegasus, I think?"

Violet actually lifts her head off Alexa's shoulder for that. "You did? I think I might have seen her... Twilight something... Sparkle!"

Alexa shakes her head. "No, her name was.. Butterfly? No.. Fluttershy, yeah, that sounds right."

Violet pauses a moment. "Oh! I think that was the one that was hiding in the bathroom one time I was here... She was hiding from the... skeleton guy, I think. He was odd, but... well, he was just odd."

Alexa nods. "She was telling me about that. Y'know, if it was three months ago, that story would have freaked me out." she grins.

Violet laughs and nods. "Well, this place is weird, that's for sure. Everyone has to get used to it. And I somehow manage to remember just how weird my home is."
