It's been a long night... But someone has to run the overnight shift. Last night it was Violet, and now that she's off duty, she's gotten herself teleported down into the apartment. She glances about briefly before asking aloud, "Are you home, Love?"

She's answered by a rather loud snore coming from the bedroom, where Alexa is in a tank top and shorts, and is also sprawled across the bed.

Violet enters the bedroom and smiles down at Alexa. After just a moment of watching her, she sits down at the edge of the bed to gently stroke Alexa's arm. She of course isn't content with that for long, and she lays down at Alexa's side to snuggle in.

Alexa pretty much almost immediately wraps her arms around Violet, and her snoring stops. "Welcome home, beautiful." she says sleepily. "Missed you last night." She lays a gentle kiss to Violet's forehead.

Violet kisses the base of Alexa's neck, then nods, the motion snuggling nose into Alexa a bit. "Well, you know, I can't always get us off at the same times. It'd be kinda... unethical to everyone else. Have to be fair and spread the load... Have to be fair with work, after all. How'd you sleep last night?"

Alexa nods a little. "Well, after my four other girlfriends left, I slept like a rock." she teases. "Nah, I never sleep too well when you ain't here."

Violet nods again, frowning. "Yeah, I know... That feeling's mutual, after all. What do you want to do with the day now, then? Get some better sleep? Or has that ship sailed? We can always make another attempt at baking a cake."

Alexa chuckles. "I think I'm good on sleep. 'Sides, now I get to stare at you all day. I'm alright with that." she thinks a moment. "Cake, huh?"

Violet nods. "Well, the last time I tried it the result was a bit... flat. I'm thinking we don't go from scratch this time and use the actual cake mix we can buy at the store." She's not letting go just yet, though. In fact, she's holding on a bit more tightly now.

Alexa smiles, holding her tighter in return. "Sounds like fun. But we can just stay here an' relax for a few minutes, too."

Violet sighs happily, nodding as she's clearly okay with this idea, as well. She kisses Alexa lightly on the neck a few times as her lips make their way up to Alexa's.

Alexa shivers a little at the kisses, and when Violet makes her way up to her lips, she slips a hand to cradle Violet's cheek as she kisses the other woman lovingly.

Violet continues the soft kiss for some time, reveling in the feeling of Alexa against her and nuzzling her cheek against Alexa's hand as much as she can without breaking the kiss. Her own hands find themselves roaming gently up and down Alexa's back, delaying slightly at the edges of the tanktop before dancing over it.

Alexa very slowly breaks the kiss, smiling. "I really did miss you last night." she says quietly, moving the hand that was on her cheek to run through her hair, her other arm happily snug around Violet's waist. "I love you."

Violet sigh happily once again, her head tilting back at the hand running through her hair. "I'm sorry, love. But I'm here now. It looks like you at least got some sleep, right?" she teases before kissing Alexa on the nose. She does sit up, finally, pulling Alexa up and into her lap as she does so. "And now we've got a whole day ahead of ourselves... I'm just going to need a lot of coffee to keep myself from dozing off later on."

Alexa chuckles, snuggling happily into Violet's lap and slipping her arms around her neck. "Well, that I can do. Let's see, we can make that cake, maybe watch a movie, take a walk, look at your ring, figure out food, maybe hit the mall, or just lounge around all day in our pajamas and not do anything else." she smiles.

Violet ponders this for a moment, softly kissing Alexa's neck a few times in the brief silence. "Well, we've not really been to see a..." She pauses, blinking as she registers one of the ideas listed. "My ring?" she asks.

Alexa smirks a little. "Hm? I don't know what you're talkin' about." she says in a rather innocent tone.

Violet pulls back slightly and smiles. "What's this about a ring now?" she asks, looking at Alexa's face. She can't help herself, however, and gives Alexa a quick kiss on the lips before she can respond.

Alexa returns the kiss, grinning. "Ring? Who said anythin' about a ring?" she laughs a little. "I'm pretty sure you didn't want one of those, right?" she winks.

Violet reaches up and pokes Alexa on the nose with her left ring finger. "Who ever said anything about not wanting a ring! I like rings! I've just not happened to find one that goes with everything I wear yet~!"

Alexa laughs a little, looking a little cross-eyed as she's poked in the nose. "Ohh, okay, then." she scoots the two of them closer to Alexa's bedside table, and she opens the drawer and pulls out a ring box. "Guess I don't have to return this." She pops open the box and inside is a rather lovely white gold band with a princess cut diamond on top, and on either side of the main diamond a few smaller round diamonds are nestled into the band. "Hope it matches all your outfits though." she smiles.

Violet takes a sharp intake of breath as Alexa pulls out the box. With the opening of it, Violet covers her mouth with both of her hands. Her gaze keeps jumping from the ring to Alexa's face and back, the rest of her body nearly motionless for a moment before she presses herself completely against Alexa, likely knocking them both back down to a laying position again as she kisses her, this time with much more passion put into it. It seems she's been struck speachless by the ring, and she's communicating her feelings on the subject the only way she seems to be able to!

Alexa somehow manages to hold onto the box as she's knocked over, returning Violet's kiss with a little bit of a laugh. After a few long moments, she breaks the kiss, smiling brightly. "So are you gonna put it on? Or are ya waitin' for me to get on one knee?" she winks, not quite letting go of her yet.

Violet pulls back and sits up, straddling her for a moment before she slides off. Blushing fiercely, she looks at the ring again, and holds out her left hand palm down, fingers spread. Well, she's seen this type of scene in movies before, and usually that's usually how it's done, right?

Alexa smiles, taking the ring out of the box and slips it gently on her finger. "Violet, I love you. I have since our first date, and it's only gotten stronger. So now, I'm askin', and feel free to say no," she winks. "But Violet Karrde, will you marry me?" she smiles, blushing herself.

Violet just looks at the ring on her finger for a few moments with a look of almost wonder on her face. "Yes! Yes, of course yes! A thousand times yes! Oh my god, Alexa, I love you so much!" she blurts out at a rapid pace before she once again more or less tackles Alexa to the bed, kissing her passionately once more. No, she cannot keep her hands or lips to herself right now, as she holds the back of Alexa's head, running her fingers through her hair and entangles her legs with her love's.

Alexa tosses the ring box to the side so she can wrap both arms around Violet, returning the kiss just as passionately and rather eagerly. With a grin, she flips the two of them so that she's on top of Violet, breaking the kiss as she looks down at her. "Do you really like it?" she smiles. "Took me forever to figure it out." she chuckles, kissing her nose.

Violet holds up her hand again, looking at it over Alexa's shoulder as she catches her breath, her face completely flushed now. "Love, the only way I wouldn't be wearing it for the rest of my life is if it were too small to fit on my finger," she says a bit breathlessly.

Alexa laughs rather cheerily. "Good. And that's why I snuck yer ring size while ya slept, darlin'." she grins, kissing Violet's cheek. "I love you, fiancee."

Violet warps her arms around Alexa's back once more, returning the cheek kiss once again. "And you are the light of my life, future wife. A life I'll cherish every moment of." She sighs happily, closing her eyes and basking in Alexa's presence. "Never... never have I been so happy in all my life."

Alexa blushes pretty scarlet. "Ah, I'm sure it's in the top five." she smiles, just reveling in her fiancee's happiness. "Seein' you happy is all I need, darlin'."

Violet seems happy enough to just lay there with Alexa atop her for a while, but eventually she does feel a need to sit up again. She makes sure Alexa is in her lap as she does so, however. "Well... I'm going to have to try to cook you something wonderful now..." She frowns at that, an image that's decidedly not romantic going through her head: that of a kitchen fire. "...Or maybe I should just take you out to a fancy restaurant?"

Alexa grins. "Up to you, beautiful. Though it ain't gotta be fancy." she chuckles. "As long as we can celebrate."

Violet starts almost bouncing in excitement. "Well, before all that, I absolutely have to tell some people!" She scrambles for her cell phone, quickly taking a picture of the ring on her finger before she starts sending out text messages of the image with a smiley and heart emoji. She's letting people figure it out on their own, not being overt about what just happened in the message.

Alexa laughs a bit, scooting off of Violet so she can do what she needs to. "Have at it, love. I'll get dressed."

Violet finishes sending out the texts while blushing fiercely, the smile still broad on her face, then she holds out her hand again to look at the ring, for some reason amazed that it's really happened.

Alexa watches Violet as she gets changed, smiling. "It's real, I promise. It ain't disappearing." she chuckles.

Violet falls back onto the bed again and actually squeals in delight, an act very out of character for her. But she's just far too happy to control herself anymore, and she curls up into a ball and rolls on the bed a moment in pure glee. Once she's calmed down again, she spreads herself out on the bed and looks at Alexa with a smile so broad it probably hurts. "I love you. You know that, right?"

Alexa laughs. "If I couldn't tell before now, you wouldn't have had that ring." she winks. "I love you too, Violet. I will for the rest of my life."

Violet stands up and walks to Alexa, embracing her without a care as to how far along she is on getting dressed and kissing her once again. "And I'll love you for the rest of mine. Even if we've been talking about it for a while... It's like... It's completely different now. It's like before, it was just something we talked about, but now..." She once again holds out her hand to look at the ring. "...Now it's really happening!"

Alexa kisses her back mid- pants raising, and laughs. "Yes it is. Now you can plan all you want, or leave it to your sisters." she winks teasingly.

Violet gets several texts back, including one from Ari that says 'OMG EEEE!!!'

Violet winces slightly at the mention of her sisters. "Oh, jeeze... I just sent them the text... they're probably making plans whether I like it or not, now. I told them the other day that they shouldn't count on me using their plans, but..." She pauses, looking at her phone again as the reply texts start coming in with a smile. "Buuuut, I think we might not want to rely on their plans. They're probably planning what they'd want for their own, not what we'd want."

Alexa chuckles. "Girls of that age usually do, I reckon." she finishes pulling her boots on. But I'm sure they only want what's best for you, even if they're not really sure what that is.

Violet smiles. "Yeah, I know. But I'd still rather it be... our wedding. Not theirs. I mean, maybe hire a professional, but you know, they'd actually be asking us stuff, while I'm guessing Aer and Lishra are probably planning every single detail down to a speck." She laughs and shakes her head before almost draping herself off of Alexa's shoulders.

Alexa grins. "You can do whatever you want with it, darlin'. I'd be happy carryin' you down to the courthouse today and makin' it offical in what we got on now." she chuckles. "But that's me. I want whatever you want."

Violet shakes her head fiercely at that. "Noooo, no no no, I think my family would kill me if we did that." she laughs, then pauses a moment. "I think Ari's actually said something to that effect, more or less."

Alexa grins. "What, that she'd kill you if you tried? Well, I mean we could just elope now and party later." she winks, teasing, then suddenly scoops Violet up in her arms, carrying her. "Either way, in my eyes, you're already my wife." she kisses the other woman's nose.

Violet eeps as she's picked up, though she quickly recovers enough to put her arms around the back of Alexa's neck. "Well, I wanna do this the proper way. I expect this to be the only chance I'm going to get at having a wedding, you know," she says as she nuzzles into Alexa's shoulder. "I love you," she says once again.

Alexa smiles. "I love you, too. And we'll do everythin' proper, then. I promise." She walks them into the living room, sitting on the couch and keeping Violet on her lap. "I already know you're going to look amazing that day. Not that you don't look drop dead gorgeous every day." she winks.

Violet sighs happily, snuggling in as she keeps her legs tucked up. "Ooooh, now there's a detail to think of... How traditional are we going to be? I mean, I'd love to be in a dress, of course... But what about you? Do we want to keep to a traditional one person in a dress, the other in a tuxedo? Because I think I might love to see you in a dress as well, you know."

Alexa blushes a little. "I was kind of hopin' for a dress too. I'm allowed to be a little girlie every once in a while, especially when I'm about to marry the most amazin' girl in the 'Verse." she smiles.

Violet smiles broadly at that as she snuggles in. "Well, that's something we're gonna both have to do on our own, of course. We can't see each other's dress until we're up there in front of everyone!" She sighs happily before adding, "You're welcome to be as girlie as you want around me, 'lexa."

Alexa kisses Violet's forehead. "I am. In fact, I think I'm the girliest I've ever been when I'm with you. Haven't heard a complaint yet!"

Violet giggles at the kiss to her forehead. "Well, that feeling's actually a bit mutual. I tend to be a lot more girly around you, I think. Well, I've always been a fan of wearing skirts though, I suppose."

Alexa grins. "I've noticed, and you look gorgeous and sexy in every single one." She takes Violet's left arm from around her neck, and kisses her ring finger. "So, does it match all your outfits?" she winks.

Violet sighs happily at the kiss to her finger. "It matches every last one of them. Every single piece of clothing I own, and ever will own, it goes with..."

Alexa smiles. "Good. And it looks good on you. Then again, you make everything look good."

Violet smiles back. "Well, you make me feel good. Every moment we're together is bliss, and every moment apart, it's like a peice of my soul is missing." She kisses Alexa's neck where it meet her shoulder. "It still feels like... like it's not real, like it's a dream. But it's a wonderful, wonderful dream that I never want to wake up from."

Alexa kisses her cheek lightly, then whispers in her ear. "Love, if this was actually a dream, I'm fairly sure it's actually mine, and I'm afraid I'm gonna wake up in the rust bucket that left me here.

Violet laughs slightly. "Oh, imagine if they could see you now. Piloting a ship that could wipe the rust bucket out in a second. Living the life with the woman you love." No, she's not being the slightest bit modest right now.

Alexa grins. "My soulmate." she corrects, but playfully. "My future wife, love of my life, you have quite a lot of titles, you know."

Violet sighs happily, nodding into Alexa's shoulder, "You share them all, you know. Well, except captain, I suppose." She laughs then lifts her head again. "But one fact remains that we've not dealt with... Which is that I'm hungry, and would like to get something to eat. I'm gonna go ahead and say I'm too excited to manage cooking it myself right now."

Alexa laughs. "Fair enough! Where too then, future wife?" she reluctantly lets Violet go.

Violet sits up more upright, though doesn't quite stand up just yet. "Ummmm, well, let's see. I feel like just going to the Usual again would be a bit... meh for this kind of celebration. Perhaps the Unusual? I feel like we should go somewhere fancier, but I don't really know those places."

Alexa chuckles. "I'm good for wherever. As long as I'm with you." She watches Violet with fascination and well, quite a bit of admiration.

Violet stands up again after a quick kiss to Alexa's cheek, then gets to looking at her phone to look up nice places to go eat.

Alexa stands up, getting her jacket. "Anything sound appetizing?"

Violet eventually nods. "I think I've found a good Italian place... Fairly expensive, but that's what we're going for to celebrate this, right?" She looks up, then frowns slightly for a split second before smiling again. "Maybe we should dress up a bit before we head out, though?"

Alexa looks down at what she's wearing and blushes. "Yeah, I reckon so." she smiles.

Violet pokes Alexa in the collarbone as she says, "Well let's raid the closet and see what we can come with then, shall we?" With a wink, she steps back into the bedroom to raid said closet.

Alexa grins, following rather happily. "Oh no. Not me an' you in the closet together. I'm cryin'." she winks.

Violet smiles back over her shoulder as she finds her grey dress. "I think it's pretty clear that neither one of us is in the closet, Love." She winks back, then steps out of the closet to start getting changed.

Alexa laughs, picking out a little red dress and her dress boots. "And I'm glad. I would have been embarrassed if this gorgeous girl I flirted with after she bought me a drink wasn't into the ladies."

Violet leans over to kiss Alexa's cheek while she's in the middle of changing. "And I would've been red in the face hat the woman I bought a drink for snubbed me because it wasn't from a guy."

Alexa blushes, smiling. "Instead, I just got a drink from my wife." she chuckles, pulling the dress on.

Violet adjusts herself in the dress slightly until she's happy with the way she's wearing it before she pokes Alexa on the forehead. "Don't get ahead of yourself, now. There's a bit of time before that's the case just yet."

Alexa smiles, smoothing out her dress. "Just trying it on for size, beautiful." she winks. "Alright, how do I look?"

Violet makes sure the belt is sitting properly around her waist then steps over to kiss Alexa's bare shoulder. "You look lovely, Alexa. I couldn't be happier."

Alexa smiles, looking Violet up and down, being pretty obvious about it. "You're stunning as usual, darlin'. That ring really does go well with it." she winks. "Whoever got it for you sure does love you.

Violet laughs with a smile, taking Alexa into her arms and kissing her lightly on the lips. "Oh, she does. You have no idea how much she does." After holding Alexa a moment, she lets go and steps back, looking over her again with a slight blush before turning towards the door. "Well then... I suppose we should head out!"

Alexa kisses Violet back, smiling brightly. "She loves you more than anythin'." she says softly, then turns to walk out with Violet. "Let's!"

Chagrin's Penthouse Dining Room and Lounge

Welcome to Chagrin's, where the clientele always leave with a full stomach and an empty wallet. This penthouse establishment features a view out over the city from nearly any table and certainly any window seat. The tables are all rich grained natural woods. The seats and back of the chairs and benches are covered in red leather, which in turn matches the carpeting. Elegant waiters and waitresses bustle efficiently back and forth seeing to the diners' every need.

Violet enters the fancy restaurant, glancing about the place with slight nervousness at just how fancy the place is. "Well, this was nicer than I thought it was going to be," she says. She smiles as she and Alexa are lead to a table for two by the window. She would pull the seat out for Alexa, but the Maitre'de has beaten her to that as he does so for both ladies. As such, Violet takes a seat and looks at Alexa over the table with a smile.

Alexa thanks the Maitre'de as she sits, then smiles back at Violet before looking around. "I ain't never been in a place this.. upscale." she smiles. "Hopefully I don't look out of place.

Violet smiles to Alexa. "You look fine, Love. I dare say we're the envy of the room." She laughs lightly, in a way that suggests she might have giggled if she weren't in public. "Don't worry about the costs, Love. You spent all that money on this wonderful ring, it's the least I could do to treat you to this fine place."

Alexa smiles. "You're spoilin' me. And of course I'm the envy of the room. I'm here with you." she picks up the menu and starts looking it over.

Violet keeps smiling at Alexa. "I said 'we,' Love, and I meant it." She then now does look into the menu, selecting a bottle of wine as well as the dish she's going to want to eat. "And don't worry about spoiling... this is a special occasion, we're not going to be coming here much," she says dryly. Yes, she's seen the prices here before she made the reservation. She can afford one night here, but certainly not one night a month, not even on her captain's salary.

Alexa grins a bit as she looks over the fare. "To be honest, I ain't got a clue what half of this stuff is." She does, somehow manage to make a selection.

Violet smiles and, as the waiter arrives, announces their orders. The waiter, while being perfectly polite, seems to give an air of not really approving of their orders. Violet raises an eyebrow as she senses this, but says nothing. As he leaves, she leans over the table and says, "I get the feeling he wouldn't have approved of anything on the menu..."

Alexa chuckles. "Yeah." she whispers. "He did seem a bit snooty, even for this place." she grins, taking a sip of water. "So, used to the new addition yet?"

Violet raises her hand, looking at the ring again. "Love, I don't think I'm gonna get used to it for at least a month," she says with a huge smile. "It's a dream come true, just like you are."

Alexa smiles, blushing a bit. "I'm just glad you said yes."

Violet gives Alexa a smirk. "Was there ever any doubt to it? Was there ever really any doubt as to what I'd say?" She laughs lightly as the wine arrives, and the waiter pours them each a glass before setting the bottle down on the table.

Alexa laughs a little. "Well it was still amazin' to hear you say it. In fact, I may ask you again at home just to hear it again." she winks.

Violet smiles back to Alexa as she raises her glass. "Well, then to the future. Our future. Together."

Alexa raises her glass as well, clinking it against Violet's. "Hear hear." she takes a sip of wine. "I'm looking forward to every day." she thinks a moment. "So after we get married, does that mean I get moved to the captain's cabin, or am I still with the crew?"

Violet clinks her glass against Alexa's and takes a sip as well. "Huh. You know, I don't know how that works, to be honest... but on the other hand... how often have you actually slept in your own quarters?"

Alexa grins. "Once or twice a week, really. The other nights I don't sleep too much anyway." she says quietly, winking before taking another sip.

Violet blushes as she takes a sip herself. "Well then... Am I being too distracting?" she asks, trying to keep a straight face as she does. "I can always try sleeping on my back with my arms at my side."

Alexa chuckles. "Nah, anything you do would be distractin', beautiful. Heck, you're gorgeous when you snore."

Violet blushes intensely again, taking another sip of her wine as their meals arrive. "Well, you're just going to ahve to get used to me, I suppose. Can't sleep with my, can't sleep without, eh?" she says, altering the old phrase, slightly.

Alexa giggles. "No, my gorgeous fiancee, I just can't sleep without. Not well, in any case."

Violet smiles and reaches across the table to grasp Alexa's free hand for a moment before looking down at their food. "Well... you know well how that feeling is mutual. I'd been sleeping the past two years alone every night... having forgotten how lonely that was."

Alexa gives Violet's hand a gentle squeeze. "Now you don't have to worry about sleeping alone again. You're not gettin' rid of me, I promise."

Violet smiles and takes her hand back as she says, "Ooooh, You make that sound like a threat. Not getting rid of you, eh?" She winks as she starts to eat her meal.

Alexa laughs. "Not a threat, a promise." She smiles and starts digging into her plate as well. Every once in a while the light makes Violet's ring sparkle, and Alexa smiles.

Violet catches the smile and follows Alexa's gaze back to her ring. She lifts up her hand, once again admiring the ring. "It's beautiful, Love," she says, then looks to Alexa more directly. "Just like you are."

Alexa blushes at that. "Took me a while to figure out which one. Didn't see anything I liked, so I worked with a designer. I'm really glad you like. I was um, really nervous." she hehs.

Violet smiles at Alexa, then frowns as she looks at Alexa's left hand. "Who was the designer you worked with, Love?"

Alexa laughs a little. "You really want to know?" she grins.

Violet nods with a smile. "Love, as far as I'm concerned, you're missing a ring from your finger, as well."

Alexa blushes kind of deeply. "I um, you don't have to, but... well, I worked with your aunt."

Violet considers this a moment. "Ari, you mean? I don't think Mina's a designer, is she?"

Alexa nods a bit. "Ari. She was pretty helpful." she chuckles. "Well, more than eager, that is."

Violet nods, looking down at her own ring again. "Well, I already have an idea, though, you know. I just wouldn't know what to do to actually go about making it, after all."

Alexa smiles as she watches Violet gaze at it. "No rush, you don't even really need to." she smiles. "I just want you happy."

Violet takes a bite, then points at Alexa's hand with her fork. "I'm not gonna be happy until the world knows you're mine, just like the world now knows I'm yours." She smiles at Alexa.

Alexa beams, face deep red. "Alright, alright, if it'll make you happy."

Violet shakes her head. "I'm not taking getting the engagement ring away from you, Alexa... not just because you fell in love with another woman, and we fell into... the roles we fell into." She beams back at Alexa. "Because you deserve it, too."

Alexa smiles, and.. well, actually wipes a tear away, smiling. "Alright, alright.. do what you will, beautiful."

Violet smiles back, leaning an elbow onto the table as she motions with her fork again. "I'll always do what I want. And what I want is to make you as happy as you can be."

Alexa grins. "And I will always let you do whatever you want. Promise." she laughs a little. "And I look forward to it."

Violet laughs and continues to eat the last bits of her food. "I'm looking forward to every last bit of our lives together, Love. Every. Last. Bit."

Alexa laughs a little. "So am I, darlin'. I love seeing you so... excited about somethin', you know?"

Violet smiles over the table at Alexa. "I've never had reason to be so excited about something, Alexa. This... this is a whole new future opening up for us. A future that can't come soon enough."

Alexa smiles back warmly. "It'll get here. Until then? We enjoy the ride, right?"

Violet nods, maintaining her smile. "It's gonna be one hell of an enjoyable ride, Love."

Alexa laughs. "Especially when we see your sisters next." she winks.

Violet sighs and facepalms. "Ugh... Okay, that not so much. I guess I'll humor them to look at their plans... but no way am I gonna make them any promises."

Alexa grins. "Bet it's full of doves and poofy dresses."

Violet grins and nods. "More than likely. But we'll see. Maybe they'll actually have some real ideas that fit... us." She gazes out the window for a moment, then turns to smile once again.
