It's just outside the Badlands, directly outside the massive gate where there now stands a Gundam. The custom machine has a nearly-uniquely feminine form for this class of machine, and on its back are a pair of large boosters. This is the Victoria, and on its shoulder sits Violet, her helmet stowed to hang at the back of her neck as she looks up to the sky, waiting for a certain fighter to descend from space. When you don't have to worry about re-entry, you can get here pretty quick, so she's managed to get here first.

It isn't long before another fighter descends from the heavens, and lands nearby. After a few moments on the ground, the cockpit opens and Alexa hops out, standing on the wing and smiling up at Vic, and well, Violet.

Violet waves back before tapping something on her neck. With that, she comms over to Alexa. "Hey, Love! You ready for this? We never know what we're gonna come across on the other side. You're gonna be flying faster than I will, of course, so I'm thinking you scout ahead before looping back towards me, rinse, repeat?" As she speaks, she hops down from the shoulder to land on the hand that is currently held at cockpit height before climbing in.

Alexa responds back, smiling. "Ready as I'll ever be, beautiful." she stretches a little before climbing up into the 22's cockpit again. "Just give me a headin' and we'll go from there. I love you, by the way." She chuckles a little over the radio. "This is a hell of a date!"

Violet powers up her machine again from standby mode and opens up a video feed comm to the VF-22. With it not being in space, she sets her helmet on a hook on the back of her seat. Alexa would be able to tell that the interior of the Victoria is much like the VF-22's in that there are video screens surrounding Violet's pilot's chair, giving her a wide field of view. "Love you too, Hon. And yeah, I don't think I've ever quite been on a date like this one." The mecha walks over to the gate, which the guards open to let her through. Sure, she could jump over, but for now, she's going to take things a little easy. "I'm moving ahead, you go ahead and catch up and pass me. If you get sick of scouting, feel free to switch to battleoid mode and join me on the ground."

"You got it, darlin'." Alexa grins, firing up her engines again and lifting off. She keeps it at the lowest speed she can as she zooms ahead. "So what are we lookin' for? Anythin' in particular or jus' anythin'?"

Victoria_Gundam picks up the pace as the variable fighter passes by overhead. "I've no specific ideas, no," comms Violet. "Just two things to keep an eye out for... One is anything that looks like it might be a ship the size we want... even it doesn't look flyable, so long as it's not just a heap of scrap. I'm pretty sure Raven can get anything running, especially with the assistant she has now. The other, of course, is Trouble. We don't want anyone catching us off guard."

Alexa keeps an eye on her monitors as she flies on, occasionally looping back if she thinks she sees something. "I'd say a little trouble ain't hurt no one, but from what I understand I got lucky gettin' out of this place in one piece when I got dumped."

Violet keeps an eye out as well, jumping from clear area to clear area with the added boost of the thrusters on the mecha's back. "A little trouble? No. A lot of trouble, you bet it can hurt. Those Orks were a problem. One of my training flights we had to turn back early because Miriya's fighter took a hit. Miriya!" Taking another leap, the Gundam spins in mid-air at the apex of its jump, getting in a good view of its surroundings, but spotting nothing.

Alexa shakes her head. "Damn. Just be careful down there. Let me know if you need me." she says, a hint of concern in her voice. She banks, doing a large circle over the area. "You got anythin' yet?"

Outside the area of Alexa's wide circle a lone aircraft can be spotted. It's a twin-rotor craft, one each at the end of the wings, and they clearly rotate to transition between vertical and horizontal for both vertical landings and higher in flight speeds. It seems to be currently going in for a landing in a small clearing in the rubble that is surrounded with makeshift buildings.

Inside her cockpit, Violet shakes her head. "Nothing I'm spotting yet, no. My eyes aren't quite as high as yours, though. I'm beginning to think Vic isn't the best suited vehicle for this kind of work."

Alexa hms at that. "Vi we got an aircraft landing. Sending coordinates. Ain't sure what type we're lookin' at, but it's got rotors, so..." She banks towards the craft, keeping a wide circle around it and the buildings to try to get more information.

A more concentrated look reveals two more of the craft parked in the clearing. Around the newly landed vehicle are a small number of people, and from it hops down either two people in heavy armor or possibly two robots. Suddenly, activity around it and through the entire makeshift base picks up, people scrambling about. A few more of the either robots or heavy armors come out of the buildings, one of which starts pointing around the base, giving orders to those around it.

Violet looks over the coordinates and starts sending Victoria in that direction, no longer taking leaps in hopes that she might possibly be a little stealthy. Not likely in a Gundam, but it's more likely without jumping all the time. "On my way there, can I get a visual? Sounds like it's not what we're looking for, though."

Alexa sends the feed to Violet's console. "It.. doesn't look good. Got a base of some sort. They're lookin' like they're startin' somethin'. I may have been spotted, I ain't sure.

Whoever these people are, they certainly seem to be setting up defensively. The armors are getting set up with heavy weaponry, the regular troops with smaller weapons, including what look to be rocket launchers. For now, they're holding their fire, be it because they are in a wait and see posture with the unknown to them fighter, or be it simply because the VF-22 is out of their range.

Violet taps the sent view and slides it over to the side to match the angle from Alexa's fighter. "I see them now. I can't say if they're hostile or just careful. I'm not seeing what we want there, though. Maybe we should just keep our distance, let them be?"

Alexa nods, and in the next circle, she starts to bank away. "Roger. Clearing out and resumin' course. Also really fightin' the urge to call ya Cap'n."

Violet laughs into the comm as she turns to avoid the encampment. "Well, if you really want to! Though we can be as informal as we want, we're out here hunting, more or less." Once she's confident she's skirted around the encampment, she brings the Gundam into a longer stride, moving more quickly but much less stealthily.

Alexa laughs as well. "Nah. We ain't on the clock. Just got to be a habit while I'm flyin'." she grins, looping around to cover more ground. "But the up side is I get to flirt with ya!"

Violet winks at the video feed to Alexa's cockpit. "Don't you know it, Love! It's a bit weird for me in that regard, too, though. I feel weird being able to just... chat. Is the Sturmvogel feeling all right up there? Does she dance for you?"

Alexa grins, blowing a kiss to the screen. "Flyin' like a dream, darlin'. How you holdin' up down there? Anythin' interestin'?

Violet kisses her fingers and holds them up to the camera, likely filling Alexa's view of Violet for a moment. "Nah, nothing really interesting. Just... a lot of rubble. There's so much out here, but... it's all a complete wreck. Just piles of rubble, and from down here, it looks like most of it's been moved around, sifted through. There's clearly been a lot of looting in the past... not that that's a surprise."

Alexa smiles at Violet as she turns again. "Yeah. I can imagine this place has been dug through like crazy with people tryin' to get their hands on stuff. We got time, though."

Victoria_Gundam pauses by a large warehouse looking building and peers in through a gaping hole in the wall. It's only a few moments before it stands upright once more. "Lots of buildings to look into... I'm only taking a closer look at the once that I think might fit a ship... should I look more closely at others?"

Alexa thinks a moment. "Only if you think it may be worth it. I can always come down an' help."

Victoria_Gundam travels along a ways before leaning over to look under a toppled tower that is partially holding itself together. Clearly, nothing is under there. "Nah, I think right now having that wider view is more what we need... though if you spot anything that looks like it could hold something good, definitely let me know."

Alexa smiles, straightening out and flying over a new section. "You got it, gorgeous. So what was this place the ruins of, anyway? Anythin' in particular? I didn't exactly read up 'bout it."

Violet says, "Ehhhh, as I understand, it's parts of lots of places. A lot of Okinawa someone once told me? Though that doesn't make any sense to me." She shrugs, clearly visable in the camera. "I'm pretty sure it pulls ruins from elsewhere, but I wouldn't put money on that."

Alexa nods. "Guess that makes as much sense as anythin' else 'round here, right?" she laughs. "In fact, I think it wasn't far from here that I got ditched. Could be wrong though. Did a lot of walkin' those few days."

Violet huffs out a breath as she shakes her head. "How... how the heck did you make it through this place on your own for days? I'm afraid to do that myself! I'm not going camping out here!"

Alexa chuckles. "Wouldn't want to either. I hid a lot. Was somethin' like three days 'til I made it to the gate. Then I met this really cute girl at a bar, she bought me a drink..." she trails of, smirking.

Violet looks a bit agast. "Whaaaaat?! A cute girl at a bar bought you a drink when you first got here? I am so jealous. Cute girls I don't know never seem to buy me drinks." She pouts at that, but can't hold it for long before she starts laughing.

Alexa can't help but laugh along. "Darlin', I'd do those three days in hell out here all over again if it meant findin' you."

Violet smiles back into the camera. "You know I'd come for you. I'd hunt you down if I had to and carry you back the whole way." Her smile quickly becomes a smirk, however. "Of course, that's not as difficult when I can fly."

Alexa blushes a bit, trying to hide it from the camera but it's not easy when you're flying at high speeds and need to keep hands on the controls. "This is true. By the way, you're just as beautiful with or without your wings, future wife."

Violet shifts slightly in her seat, attempting to look more alluring. While she has much more room in the 360 cockpit, she nonetheless doesn't quite pull it off. The wink and kissy face help a little, though. "Never knock yourself either, Love. I can't see much of ya from this angle in that cockpit, but I know you're looking hot in there as always."

Alexa blushes again. "Oh, I'm sure you'll see more of me later, beautiful. As much more as you want." she chuckles.

Violet gets a bit of a goofy look on her face. "Hee... Well, that'll be a nice thing to go home to, then." She smiles and tilts her head slightly. "Can't wait, hon... but I also can't wait to see... what's inside this building that looks like a hangar!" The Gundam leans over to peer inside. And then stands up again. "Bears. There are bears."

Alexa raises a brow. "Bears? What're bears?" she tilts her head a bit.

Victoria_Gundam leans back over to look into the hangar-like building as Violet sends a video feed over. There appears to be a family of bears there. They are sitting at a card table, playing Monopoly. There appears to be the skeletal remains of an unknown number of humanoids in the corner of the hangar as well. The bears, for their part, look mildly annoyed at the Gundam. "Those are bears. Though most bears don't play board games. That part's a bit weird, but... well, the Badlands."

Alexa nods. "You know, one of these days I gotta just sit an' read up on Earth animals. But at least they're havin' some fun.

Violet laughs and nods, getting her mecha well out of the way of the hangar. "Yeah, no need to bother them. Okay, the corpses were a little creepy, but... well, it's the Badlands." The Gundam moves along through the ruins, looking around for another possible prospect.

Alexa smirks, circling around once. "Is that the reasonin' for everythin' here?" she chuckles. "I mean if it is, it is, but still."

Violet frowns, then shrugs. "As... I understand... It's something about... something like a place where the boundaries between dimensions are weak. So... sections can move between here and elsewhere... Its why new things keep showing up, why things never quite die out out here. Why it never can be made safe."

Alexa nods. "Well, I ain't gonna pretend to understand it, and that's alright." she smiles. "I'm just a pilot, I'll stick to what I know."

Speaking of can never be made safe, suddenly a massive platypus erupts from the ground. It easily towers three times as tall as the Gundam, and looks around menacingly before letting out a mighty, "Mweh."

Violet blinks as the massive creature rears up in front of her mecha. "Um... Love, are you seeing what I'm seeing? Because I'm beginning to wonder if the air circulators are malfuctioning in Victoria."

Alexa's jaw drops. "I see it. I ain't believin' it, but I'm seein' it! " She banks around as to keep her distance. "What the damn hell is that thing??"

Violet pauses. "I.... some kind of... furry duck with a flat tail?" The Gundam looks up at the platypus for a moment before getting swatted to the side by the great beast! Apparently Violet was too dumbfounded to react remotely in time. Thankfully, she did have her crash harness on (she's not that cocky), so while she's clearly being tumbled about, she looks just fine. "I think it's not very friendly, though."

Alexa frowns as she sees Vi get... swatted. "You alright? Should I open fire?" she begins an approach on the beast, hopefully high enough so she doesn't get hit, but within weapons range.

Violet glances at the camera and pushes a lock of hair that got loose from her bun out of her face. "Um, yeah. Weapons free, Love." The Gundam rolls over to its back and takes aim with its beam rifle and opens fire. Surprisingly, for such a fast shot, Violet scores a direct hit on its midsection. This doesn't stop it, of course, but it does have a nasty scorch mark on it.

Alexa focuses in on her approach, opting for her hopefully more annoying gatling guns. "Alright you whatever the hell, let's get your focus on me and not the pretty girl in front of you..." she smirks as she opens fire.

The more rapidly firing weapons from the variable fighter indeed do get the platypus's attention. Its head turns up towards the approaching fighter and it opens up its beak, from which a rather large energy beam fires.

Victoria_Gundam gets up to its feet while the platypus is distracted and starts approaching closer to it again, stowing the beam rifle and going instead for a beam saber.

Alexa barely manages to dodge the beam. "You gotta be kiddin' me!!" she mutters something in Mandarin and circles back around for another approach with the gun pods.

Victoria_Gundam gets nearly to the platypus before leaping into the air for a rocket assisted leap at the target, ready to swing down! Unfortunately, the creature's tail lifts up and smacks right into the Gundam, swatting it away again. It apparently was playing better attention than it looked!

Alexa almost growls a bit. "Tell me you're alright, darlin'!" she pulls up to do a loop, this time hitting the missles on approach. "You just made the worst mistake o' your life.." she says to the platypus, not that the mammal... thing... can hear her. But it's the principle of the thing.

Violet groans and lifts her head, several more strands of hair now loose. "I'm fine, Love, I'm fine. Vic can take a lot of beating." The Gundam gets back up on its feet, extending its beam shield from its left arm. "Give 'im hell, Hon."

The Platypus keeps its attention on the Gundam, and steps forward to swing a clawed hand at the mecha, but the swipe is deflected by the beam shield. It mwehs in frustration, completely missing the array of missiles before they collide with its back.

Alexa does a small loop to approach the platypus from behind, firing another barrage of missiles at the thing's back. Eyes narrowed in concentration, her look is one of... well, she's outright pissed.

The platypus swipes at the next group of incoming missiles, but that tactic doesn't work very well against that kind of missile swarm, allowing several to get through. It mwehs in pain stepping back directly into the swinging blade of the beam saber as the Victoria Gundam stabs it right through the chest this time. Badly charred and run through, the platypus lifts its head far enough to look upside down at the Gundam before saying, one last time, "Mweh," and collapsing to the ground.

Alexa cheers in Mandarin, smiling brightly. "Good hit, beautiful! That's my future wife!" she does a victory barrel roll.

Violet laughs and gets her mecha away from the Kaiju's corpse. "Couldn't have made that hit without your help, Love." She flicks the loose strands of hair from her face before calming her breath down. "This is why the tougher mecha is on the ground, love. That Sturmvogel would be limping home if it took a hit like those." She lets out another breath, closing her eyes as she finally becomes fully calm again. "I think that's enough for today, hon. We'll want to refuel and, more importantly, rearm after that battle."

Alexa nods. "Sounds good to me. Was kind of fun, though." she says, but she can't help but check the monitor every few seconds to make sure she really is alright.

Violet really does look just fine. The crash harness has done its job well! Though perhaps if she'd had her helmet on, her hair wouldn't be a complete mess now. She does grin, however, to the screen. "It was fun! But I think I'm ready for a hot bath after that." She turns back towards NeoTokyo and starts making the big, jet boosted leaping bounds to get moving faster.
