After a stop at the bridge to inform the new Ensign that he's unfortunately going to be on bridge duty for a bit longer and to alert her immediately of any comm messages from the Tyrian fleet, Violet makes her way back to the captain's quarters again. She doesn't seem to be intent on letting go of Alexa's hand through this process.

Alexa lets Violet drag her along. She lets her fiancee do what she needs to. Really all she can do is be there for Violet, and she stays quiet until they get to their room. Once the door closes behind them, she looks at Violet and takes a deep breath. "Are you alright?"

Violet deflates considerably as soon as the door closes. "I... yeah, I guess so." She finally brings her eyes up from the floor and looks at Alexa. "I'm really not sure what I feel right now. I... I want to be angry at her. I want to stay angry at her. But... Then I remember what Fluttershy said to me." She suddenly laughs. "Yup, what a talking, flying pony said. Well, that sounds odd."

Alexa smiles a bit lopsidedly as Violet laughs, and steps over to her, wrapping her arms around the other woman. "You'll figure it out eventually, darlin'. I know you will." she kisses Violet's cheek.

"Fluttershy..." Violet laughs again, finding saying the name silly despite the relatively serious circumstances. "Sorry. Fluttershy said I should... try to give her a chance. I didn't think there'd be a chance to give her a chance when I had that conversation, but now... now I do. And all that anger, all that frustration... I'm feeling like it's... wrong to feel it now." She flumps onto the couch that's facing the viewport to outside, likely taking Alexa with her, and immediately leans fairly heavily into her. "I just feel... lost. Like I don't know how to handle being around my own mother."

Alexa definitely goes to the couch with Violet, and holds her close. "Well... that's just it. She's your mother, but from what you've said, she ain't your mom. There's a difference, you know?" She kisses Violet's forehead softly. "From what you said, she ain't been much of a mother anyway.

Violet shakes her head. "She... she made some attempts. I think. Back in her world. She tried to bring me into her family. I've mentioned 'the last wedding I went to' a few times, right? That was her other daughter... She tried. I think she's just not very good at it... from my few conversations with Rayne." She pauses a moment before adding, "She's apparently a workaholic."

Alexa is quiet a moment. "Love, you just said she tried to bring you into her family. That just don't make sense to me." she thinks a moment. "Do you want her at our weddin'?"

Violet takes a while to respond, and then finally lets go of Alexa. It seems the reason for this is so that she can clutch at her own face. "I just... I don't know right now. Maybe I'll have to sleep on it. Parts of me say I should just tell her to get lost, parts of me say I should try to make amends, parts of me say she's my mother and of course she should come, parts of me say she doesn't deserve it, parts of me say I should show off just how great my life has been since I got back here and compare it to how miserable I was most of the time in her universe."

Alexa doesn't loosen her hold of her love, not even a little. "Take all time you need, darlin'. And if you change your mind at the last minute I'll kick her out or go get her myself. But whatever you decide, I'll be behind you all the way. Me an' all the rest of your friends and family. We all love you. I love you.

Violet leans heavily into Alexa for another moment before she brings her legs up onto the couch, tucking them just to her side opposite Alexa. "I know. I know. Which is why I have to decide for myself. In a way, I'm annoyed Fluttershy gave me that speech. I don't think I'd be as torn up if she hadn't. But I don't think that'd be a better me." She pauses a moment. "Of course, she may just want to leave as soon as the bond between me and Eagle Flare is broken. That... That's going to pain me a little. I liked Eagle Flare... He was like a little puppy after Nobara, but still." She reaches out with one hand. "I... I can feel him out there. It's odd feeling him out there again. But if I was fine not feeling him these past few months, I'll be fine again. There's no way my mother would let me keep Eagle Flare here. It's not really hers to give."

Alexa watches and listens, and tries to say something a few times but fails. "I... I wish I could relate, to tell you somethin' to help but.. I got nothin'. And I feel like I'm failin' you here.." she frowns. "I mean, I've felt bonds to the ships I flew, but nothin' like that."

Violet snuggles into Alexa, shaking her head. "Don't worry about it, Love. You being here is more than enough. I don't think anyone can really have my array of experiences, it's just too messed up and wierd." She goes silent for a moment before saying, "You being here is enough," again.

Alexa smiles a little as Violet snuggles in. "Darlin', it's my job to worry about you. For the rest of my life. And you think your experiences are messed up and weird, but they make up who you are now." She leans her head on Violet's.

A message for Violet! It says "Do you happen to know why there's a busted down spaceship in my airfield?" - Raven.

Violet blinks as the message light comes on. "Um..." She pries herself off of Alexa to take a look at it, and then laughs. She quickly marks down another several lines. "It's been there for a few days, haven't you noticed the note I left you on the door before now? Zelan already sent me a few inquiries and a request for an expert in the tech." She then looks back to Alexa with a grin. "Apparently Zelan didn't bother telling Raven about the ship we left outside her door."

Alexa snickers. "Oh, lovely." Raven fires back. "Sorry, too busy dealing with my four children running around and the other two that are having deathmatches on my bladder. And... other things."

Violet sends a message back, "Well, it seems Zelan already knew exactly what to do." She then pauses a moment before sending another, no longer grinning quite so much. "My mother showed up in system about an hour ago."

There's a bit of a pause before the next message. "Oh hell. You didn't tell Jack, did you? Crap, nevermind, not my business. Are you okay?"

Violet sends back, "Jack's in system. I asked him for an expert in Star Wars tech and he showed up himself, almost just in time. So he's pretty damn aware. I'm fine, just emotionally confused on how I should feel." She flumps against Alexa again, holding her phone in a way that Alexa can see as well.

Alexa slips her arms around Violet again, kissing the back of her head. Raven messages back. "Do you want me there?

Violet messages back, "Alexa's here. I'll be fine. I just need to decide for myself how to handle this. I'm the only one that really knows her around here anymore." She pauses a moment, then sends another message. "With the possible exception of Gonfei."

Raven sends. "Alright. Just know I'm here if you need me." Another pause. "Jack... our Jack, never signed the divorce papers, Violet. I never stopped being your stepmom, and that's not changing now. Love you."

Violet sends back another text. "I know. I'll let you know how I decide. It's just wierd that I'm not as angry as I thought I'd be. Love you." As that sounded like a closing, she sets down the phone again and leans into Alexa after a kiss to her cheek. "Thanks for being here for me, Love."

Alexa smiles, blushing a little at the kiss. "Nowhere else I'd rather be, darlin'. You should know that by now." They sit in silence for a few moments, then one more message from Raven comes through. "Okay I'm having a mood swing and feel like a blimp with insecurity so totally off subject but this is rather important, does this dress make me look like a red beached whale?" There's a picture attached of Raven wearing an ankle length spaghetti-strapped dress that's snug fitting to her pregnant stomach, but otherwise rather flattering.

Violet blinks and looks down at the phone again, then barely holds back a laugh. "I sooo want to tell her she doesn't look beached at all. But I think that might get her to torch the ship." Instead she sends back, "You look lovely, Rave."

Alexa laughs as well. "I won't tell her, I promise." she grins. There's a pause and after a moment Raven sends back. "Don't say a word, especially to Ari, but... will it work as a wedding dress?"

Violet says, "You'd better not," then looks down at the new text. She frowns, then texts back, "It's not white, but other than that, sure. Alexa is looking over my shoulder, just so you know."

Another pause. "Well, we're um... eloping Christmas Eve, so I figured festive... Hi Alexa!

Violet blinks, then texts back, "Again, and people think Alexa and I are going fast. Congratulations, though!" She looks back to Alexa and shrugs. "I guess Raven doesn't particularly like the ceremony of weddings. She eloped with Pops, too."

Alexa chuckles. "Was she pregnant the too? There may be a pattern there..." she grins.

Violet tilts her head slightly, frowning. "I..... can't honestly remember. I thought she was originally planning on waiting until after they were born for her and Blade, but.... I guess the got impatient. Maybe she just doesn't want to be the center of attention." She smirks, looking back to Alexa again. "Unlike yours truely."

Alexa chuckles. "Which reminds me, I still need a dress." she smiles. "And you're always the center of my attention, beautiful."

Violet says, "Well, I'm sure Rave will be the center of Blade's attention, too. Buuut.... have you talked to Arikami's relatives? She sounded like she was eager to try to help." She shrugs. "Not that I'm familiar with their work, buuuut.... Hey, it sounded like you could get a really nice dress for maybe cost?" She shrugs. "Might want to talk to 'em soon, though."

Alexa shifts a little. "I.. I don't really know 'em, and..." she hesitates. "Don't you worry 'bout me. I'll figure it out."

Violet snuggles in, but still criticizes a little. "Alexa... Don't put it off for any longer... It's coming up fast, you know."

Alexa nods a little, smiling. "I'll get it done. Don't you worry 'bout it. You focus on you.

Violet shifts her positioning a bit more, laying her head in Alexa's lap now and looking up at her. "Well, maybe I want to focus on someone other than me right now... then again, maybe I should still be searching myself for how I feel about my mother... or maybe I need more data that I'm likely to get when I break the bond with Eagle Flare."

Alexa nods a little, looking down at Violet and stroking her hair comfortingly. "Take all the time you need on all of that, darlin'. If you need some you time, I can just leave you alone for a little while." she smiles.

Violet shakes her head. "I'd rather you be here, even if I'm just silently pondering. Of course, I can't keep you from..." She blinks. "Wait, weren't you supposed to be on duty right now?" Yes, she just now remembered that. "Ugh. Well, I'll have to make it up to Hikoma."

Alexa chuckles. "Yeah. Though I think I have a month's worth of comp time on the books. Hopefully my slave driver of a cap'n will forgive me this once."

Violet nods solomnly. "Well, I'll talk to her, see if I can get her to give you some slack. No promises, though. You know how she is." She shakes her head and lets out an exasperated sigh. But she can't hold it and breaks out laughing.

Alexa laughs as well, playfully poking Violet's nose. "You're beautiful when you laugh." she winks.

Violet pouts slightly. "I'm beautiful all the time." Maybe her ego is getting a liiiiittle big there? But no, she smirks and laughs again. "You're beautiful too, Love. And I consider myself the the luckiest person in the fleet for it. Well, perhaps except for you." She winks back now.

Alexa giggles. "Yeah, you are beautiful all the time. But there's somethin' about your laugh..." she smiles. "And I'm far luckier than you'll ever be. I get to marry you."

Violet smiles up, then lifts herself up enough to kiss Alexa fully on the mouth this time. Sort, tender, perhaps a little short, though. "I love you."

Alexa kind of whimpers a little as the kiss isn't nearly long enough. "I love you too, Violet. More'n anythin'.

Violet looks up at Alexa with a smile, then, after a moment, sits up, shifting herself to sit in Alexa's lap. "I know, Love, I know. And we don't have that long to wait," she whispers into Alexa's ear. But then she reaches up and pokes her in the nose. "So don't forget to take care of that dress, okay?" she says with a smile.

Alexa goes cross eyed at the poke and grins. "You kiddin'? It's going to be the most important day of my life. Of course I'm gonna get a dress." she chuckles. "Yeah, not long to wait at all."

Violet respositions herself slighly and kisses Alexa a few times up her neck. "But we don't have to wait for every-"

That's of course when the internal comm chimes. "Captain, we're receiving word from the Wings of the Dragon, requesting your presence aboard Eagle Flare."

Violet blinks, the moment of now broken. "...Or maybe we do have to wait. Um... yeah."

Alexa nods a little, serious on the outside, cursing the horrible timing on the inside. "Alright darlin'. Do you need me with you?"

Violet thinks about it for a moment, then shakes her head. "They're not gonna let you in for it all. State secrets and all, I'm guessing. And as far as my mother is concerned... It's something I need to deal with myself."
