| Summary: It's finally the big day! Alexa and Violet's Wedding! Who: Alexa Donovan, Ari, Artanis, Dorian, Gonfei Jack_Karrde, Kotal_Kahn, Minu, Miriya, Raven_von_Tilsen, Rei Ayanami, The_Trio, Violet, Zelan When: February 4th, 2017 Where: The Beach/The Kraken            |
Danielle is currently still up on the boardwalk, looking down. She's quite early, afterall! She appears to be idly chatting with a small cat-girl that appears to be somewhere between 5 and 7 years old, who does bear some resemblance to her. Rei walks clumsily across the sand. Perhaps spike heels weren't the best idea. The sun is low in the sky and the lowering light is accented on the beach by two rows of tiki torches in the sand. Rows of white wooden folding chairs are arranged so that they're facing the ceremony's main area, and each chair is decorated with a large violet ribbon tied into a bow on the back. Splitting the rows of chairs down the middle is a red carpet walkway leading from the stairs of the boardwalk, ending at the ceremony's main staging area. Sand from the beach has been arranged magically to form four columns behind where the brides will be standing. Each column is wrapped in violet covered vines formed by sand and all colored somehow to make them look like white marble covered in flowers, connected with a violet ribbon draped from one to the other. Danielle, taking the hand of the cat-girl child with her, starts making her way down the steps towards the ceremony area. Rei selects a seat at the fringes of the audience. Miriya,in full dress uniform with decorations, marches up and looks for a seat near the front. Ari is talking to a violinist standing behind the chairs. A tiny blur of brown darts through the air toward Kotal and the pups and when it is nearly there a tiny flair of light and the owl shifts and with a little hop, Minu lands on dainty feet beside her bond mate and pets. The little elf lady is dressed as befits the occasion, a lovely if simple long sleeved long dress in the medieval style. Rave arrives with all her children with her. Marque, the twins Emrys and Lishra, and her youngest, Aerial. Marque escorts Raven to a seat at the front, and helps the rather pregnant woman sit at the front. Each of the kids follow them and sit next to their mom. And paddling in the ocean are a handful of life sized swans. Made of ice, opaquely white and mimicing lifelike movements. Mostly there to make sure nothing comes up through the ocean to try and wreak shit, because Mina can be paranoid like that. Every once in a while, one of the swans lifts a delicately shaped beak into the sunlight, sending beams of rainbows over the pews. Maniko starts making her way down the stairs, an older but chipper looking man walking along with her. The two make their way down to the seats, where they sit somewhere near the middle. Alexa arrives, grinning like crazy. She walks over to Ari and they head to the front, Ari standing to Lex's right. With a brilliant ray of sunlight that descends from the very setting sun itself, a tall turquoise skinned man appears next the owl turned elven lady and the three headed cerberus. Mighty Huitzilopotchli appears decked in brilliant golden armor with a long blue cape, at least deciding to keep his skull motif regalia back at home so at give a better impression. The God of War grins and places an arm around tiny Minu. "Ah, looks like we've made it just in time." Artanis is here too! The Protoss warrior appears by way of Phoenix's teleportation beam and.. surprisingly, he's not wearing his armor this time! Tonight for this special occasion he's opted for a more Terran style of clothing and has donned a tuxedo of all things. The Heirarch adjusts his bow tie and looks around to admire the decorations. The_Trio looks 2/3rds excited about what they are about to witness. Of course the rough Buster could care less, but since Kotal is here his is not too angry about being dragged along. Jackson as usual is looking rather serious in a regal sort of way whilst Rex simply looks excited. The three stay near their owners as they move along, trying not to bump into anything. The violinist starts playing some soft background music to help set the mood. Danielle and the cat-girl child take their seats somewhere near the front. Aerial and Lishra start talking excitedly between themselves, getting progressively louder until Raven gives them the mom death-glare. They immediately quiet down with a "Sorry Mom!" Dorian has chosen to forego more modern formal attire. He is, after all, not from a 'modern' world. He's from Tevinter. But he also knows only the bride wears white at a wedding. So he's gone with a darker fashion, a set of wine-colored robes that wouldn't look out of place in a Dungeons and Dragons LARP session. He gravitates towards where Kotal, Minu, and The Trio are for this, since he knows them. And in the back of the seats is a pair of women, one red-haired, the other white, both wearing glasses. The red-head, Zelan, is flickering her eyes about madly while one hand is overing over her phone making motions. Hopefully that gets the muttering and shuffling to settle down, because it's TIME. Minerva White, lovely in a long sleeved violet colored dress, queen anne collar, tucked waist, pencil skirt ending just above the knees, and a delicate tracing of lace the same color as the rest as a second layer over all the fabric, high heeled shoes made of ice, jewelry the same, begins the procession. Head held high, shoulders squared, hands at the side as she walks down the corridor between the pews then steps to one side. Alexa stands at the end of the red carpet, looking rather nervous. Every other minute she looks to her right, and Ari either motions for her to take deep breaths or gives her a reassuring smile. To Alexa's left is Justice Strauss, an older brunette woman clad in a black robe. After a few more minutes, Ari sees Violet and Jack Karrde ready to walk, and she nods to the violinist, cueing him. He starts playing a soft, elegant song perfect for the bride's arrival, namely 'Here Comes the Bride'. Minu quietly clings to Kotal's arm as she watches folks arrive. Casually the little elf rubs at Rex's jaw and ears. As Dorian shows up she smiles and waves at him . Violet manages somehow to not stumble over her feet as she starts walking down the isle. She's actually a bit glad for the veil right now, as she's a bit unsure of the look on her face. Is she blushing? Is she pale? She doesn't know! She's easily as nervous as Alexa is at the other end of that carpet, but those close enough to make her out under the veil can see that she is, in fact, blushing fiercely. Those close by can also see that her boquet is shaking slightly from her nervousness. She's grateful for the carpet itself, as otherwise the hem of her long dress would easily be gathering up sand. Eventually, Jack and Violet do make their way to the front, where Violet takes her place across from Alexa. After their walk down the aisle, Jack kisses Violet's cheek, says something in her ear, and sits down in the front row. Alexa smiles brightly and watches as Violet walks down the aisle, and in that few moments it's like there's nobody else here. She takes her bride's hand in hers, leaving Violet's bouquet in the other and mouths "Hi" as she arrives. Violet mouths something back, but it's a bit unintelligible. She squeezes Alexa's hand back, the nervous shaking in her own hand gradually dying out with the conforting presense. It might have taken a bit longer for her, but it seems Violet's now only dimly aware of the audience as well. Kotal hears that things are starting and quickly finds a spot for his own family and friends. Spotting Dorian approaching, the Aztec warrior waves the mage over to come sit next to him, Minu and the boys. Kotal pets Jackson a bit as he settles in whilst smiling. "By the Eldergods, it feels centuries since I've been to one of these.." He says in whispered tones, then issues quiet hmm before caressing Minu next to him. "Well, barring our own that is.." Justice Strauss smiles at the two, and begins. "Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today for a celebration. We are going to celebrate the love that these two women have for each other of course, but also the love that you all have for them, and they for you. Violet and Alexa, this is the start of your new life together. A marriage, as most of us understand it, is a voluntary and full commitment. It is made in the deepest sense to the exclusion of all others, and it is entered into with the desire and hope that it will last for life." She pauses and smiles at the brides. "NeoTokyo is a special place. It's a place that brings people from all worlds together. However, there is one part of this giant blended world that rings true for everyone. That no matter who we are, where we've come from, what we believe, we know this one thing: love is what we're doing right. That's why you both are standing here. That's why you all are here to watch them stand up here. We have all loved in our lifetimes, and in this moment, we're reminded that the ability to love is the very best part of our existance. All of us here today have our own love stories. Some are short, others long. Some are yet unwritten, while others are just getting to the good part. There are chapters in all of our stories that are sad or disappointing - and others that are exciting and full of adventure." Artanis dives for a seat once things get started. Dorian too finds a seat when it looks like things are getting started. He does indeed sit near to Kotal, as the Aztec god suggests. He gives a half-smile at Kotal's words, but doesn't respond, since he doesn't want to interrupt. He also waves to Minu and the Trio as he sits, offering a pleasant smile their way too. If Violet is hearing the officiant, it's not entirely clear. Right now, all she seems to be doing is looking at Alexa's face and smiling. Rei just sits quietly near the back. watching events as if she will be quized about them later. Rave smiles a little at something, and the two girls next to her are almost bouncing in their seat with a loud "Awwww!" as the judge talks. A raised eyebrow from their mom and they quiet down again, but still smile. Alexa grins a little, and winks at Violet, squeezing her hand gently. Maybe she should be paying attention to the judge, but... there are other things more important right now. Miriya sitting near the front with the other NTSDF officers and crew. Surely some were invinted. Relaxes back in her chair still managing to look very military in her resplendant magenta dress uniform. Ari snickers at the girls' outburst and just shakes her head a little, smiling. Arika and Michiru, their player fashionably late, must have been around this whole time, mingling and whatnot. Now they'll have been settling in close to Raven and her kids, Michi closer to the girls, grinning from ear to ear. Buster rolls his eyes at the overly emotional speech, sighs and hangs his head. Jackson however stands ever-confident and watches smiling. Rex however whispers. "this is so cute.." he says looking overly pleased. With a warm smile, Justice Strauss continues. "Now, Violet and Alexa will confirm their intent. May we have the rings please?" She waits as Ari and Mina give the rings to the brides. "Violet, do you take Alexa to be your lawfully wedded wife; to have and to hold, to love and to cherish, and to explore the stars with for as long as you both shall live?" Minerva is just glowing with pride and happiness watching it all. She looks like she's barely resisting the urge to jump up and down, squealing with happiness once the rings are passed over. Violet actually almost misses the cue to take the ring from Minerva, but does manage to /not drop it/ as she takes it. After a quick glance at the judge, she looks back to Alexa and smiles broadly before saying, "I do." Aerial and Lishra erupt in cheers, applauding. Raven just facepalms and gives them another mom death-glare. The girls calm down, but still giggle. Their brothers just shake their heads quietly. Justice Strauss turns to Alexa and nods. "Alexa, do you take Violet to be your lawfully wedded wife; to have and to hold, to love and to cherish, and to explore the stars with for as long as you both shall live?" Alexa smiles, and looks right into Violet's eyes as she slips the ring on, miraculously without fumbling. "I do." Violet makes a small squeeking noise as the ring comes onto her finger, likely unheard by anyone except Alexa, and maybe the judge. Minu gently strokes Rex's ears. The little elf all smiles as her other hand squeezes Kotal's. Her golden eyes tearing up a little as she watches the ceremony. The girls start to cheer again, and Raven and Marque put their hands over their mouths to keep them quiet. Maniko simply smiles warmly. It's an event she's not seen in quite some time, herself. The young cat-girl with Danielle watches with wide eyes in silence, much unlike the Karrde sisters. Danielle herself smiles only lightly... but hey, that's a bit of an improvement for her. Kotal smiles all through it while holding Minu's hand gently. He even begins to glow faintly and holds the fading sun for a while longer, perfectly aligning it so that shines upon the two brides making them look as if they were glowing. Meanwhile Artanis, who is sitting next to the NTSFD force, begins to tear up and.. uh.. yeah he buries his face in his palms and openly sobs. Justice Strauss addresses the gathered people. "Then, by the power vested in me by the city of NeoTokyo, I now pronounce you wife and wife. Time to seal it with a kiss!" Rei watches with clinical curiousity. Miriya sniffs and wipes her eyes Even Dorian seems to be tearing up a little by this point in the ceremony. So he lightly dabs at his eyes with a handkerchief though. Very lightly, mind. Can't go smudging the guyliner, can we? Alexa beams, and a soft chuckle escapes before reaching over to gently lift Violet's veil. She gazes at her now wife for a brief moment before leaning in for a gentle kiss. Violet is, of course, smiling broadly as Alexa lifts her veil, and eagerly leans in for that ceremonial kiss as well. She of course wants to hold it longer, but she also knows that holding it too long jsut holds everyone else up! She'll get plenty of chances later, after all, and when the kiss does end, she smiles broadly again, tapping her forhead against Alexa's before glancing out at the crowd. Minerva figets with her hands a little, trying to bleed off energy? No, no, she's a mage. Fireworks go off as soon as the happy couple kiss, sparklers and whizzy bits painting impermenant pictures against the sky. Roses made of ice bloom on the vines decorating the collumns behind the altar. And silk rose petals of a deep purple are caught up from sneakily placed baskets in a gentle breeze to swirl around the two brides. The Karrde sisters are silent, and look to their mom expectantly. Raven rolls her eyes. "Yes, NOW you can cheer!" The girls stand up and start cheering and clapping! Miriya applauds enthusiastically Rei claps dutifully, acting like everyonelse but uncertain as to why it's happening. Danielle wipes a stray tear from an eye before she starts applauding as well. Ari starts bouncing excitedly in her spot, grinning like crazy. S Buster mumbles "woo hoo..." sarcasticly. the other two look at each other and nod. and both howl happily. "hawooo!" the best they can do without hands. Justice Strauss addresses everyone, smiling. "Ladies and gentlemen, presenting for the first time, Mrs. and Mrs. Karrde-Donovan!" Maniko smiles broadly, much like her biological daughter is up on the stage. She takes a sharp breath inward through her nose as she applauds... no, she's not crying! The admiral isn't supposed to cry! Aaaaand that's enough for Mina. She gives a happy shriek, and launches herself from her position to tackle and hug her neice and her new in-law. "Eeeeee YES!" Group hug! Kotal raises a closed fist and shines the sun upon all present-- a fierce grin etched upon his lips. "May the light of the sun always shine upon your path!!!" Alexa laughs as Mina comes in for the hug, and happily participates, followed soon by her half-elf maid of honor! Violet lets out a quite audible, "GAH!" as the hugs suddenly come in from all directions at once! Minu smiles bright and claps her small hand. "Huzzah!!" she calls as the pups howl and her beloved blesses the newly married couple. The violinist starts with a cheery tune for the recession. Artanis finally gets a hold of himself and stops crying. He wipes some tears from his eyes and joins in with the clapping. Dorian's reaction to the proceedings is, surprisingly, quite subdued. He keeps his seat, and applauds heartily, but doesn't draw attention to himself in doing so. Violet manages to pry herself and Alexa from the grips of her aunts and pulls Alexa along on their way back down that aisle! Alexa slips her arm in Violet's and kisses her cheek as they walk. She hasn't stopped smiling, and it's seems that the rest of the world melted away again, and she keeps her eyes on her bride. Ari offers Mina her arm for the walk up the aisle and over to the Kraken. Minerva giggles, and doesn't chase. Instead, she turns and takes Ari's arm, more than happy to be escorted over to where the reception will be held. "So far, so good," she murmurs quietly. Miriya is still wiping her eyes and restraining a sniffle. Ari says quietly so that only Mina can really hear. "Yeah.. I may have to kill our nieces, though.." she chuckles. Rei just watches. looking mostly like she expects to be tested on the subject rather than interested in it's own right. Rave starts trying to get up, but it's a bit difficult. Jack and Marque stand, and each offer a hand to her, helping the pregnant woman to her feet. "Thanks, guys." she smiles. Aerial and Lishra are the next down the aisle after the bridesmaids, literally skipping down the aisle. Emrys just shakes his head and follows his sisters.
Gonfei stands behind the bar, ready for those coming in. Violet pulls Alexa off to the side quickly for another kiss before moving on to the back with the judge to finalize the paperwork. Alexa happily returns the kiss and then some as they walk off for a few minutes. There's soft music playing from the DJ and all the candles on the table are lit suddenly. Danielle walks in, pulling the young cat-girl with her. While Danielle looks a bit jaded, the girl is again looking around at everything with wide eyes. Minerva is right there next to Ari, back into Organization And Make Things Work Damnit mode. Her job is to make sure that any fires are put out before the guests can notice. And, lets face it... there's a critical mass of trouble magnets in place. Rei sees something she understands. Food. and proceeds to get a plate and advance on the Buffet/bar The Karrde sisters break away from their mom and brothers, and start running around the dance floor, laughing. They're twelve and ten. Raven's just decided to let them tire themselves out as she sits at one of the tables. Minu strolls into the club on Kotal's arm. She smiles up at the war god adoringly this is the first human wedding I have been to. I am so excited to see the things I have only read about in person. It is a little different then our bonding ceremony. So..what happens now? Maniko makes her way in, looking about the place once more with a smile. She makes her way over to take a seat near Raven, smiling a bit sadly to her. "I appreciate that you've been here for Violet, you know." The_Trio pad in with the War god and Minu. they all look around to take in the scene. "Wow! fancy." Buster actualy sounds impressed this time. "What did you expect, It's their wedding, they wer not going to go for any less than perfect." Jackson retorts to his brother." Rex is just soaking it all in amazedly. Miriya makes her way to the door to the back room. standing nearby. "Hm, I am not entirely certain actually, my Owl." Responds Kotal to his wife whilst he enters the reception alongside Minu and the others. "Back in Tenochtitlan and Outworld we would hold great bouts of KOMBAT to honor the bride and groom. Here though, I am not sure what cultural implications might happen next-- I doubt it will be Kombat oriented, the people here do not seem to be too inclined on that." He chuckles a bit at the Trio before hugging Minu close to him. "Though yes, it was quite different than our bonding ceremony. Although that event really didn't need a crowd." Rei methodically puts non-meat dishes onto her plate from the buffet. Lishra and Aerial stop dead in their tracks when they see the Trio for the first time. Their attention was a little taken during the ceremony. The twelve and ten year old girls blink, look at each other, and run to the dog, talking at about the speed of light. "Oh my god look at the puppy!" "How cute!!!" "Can we pet him??" "If it's anything like back home? A grand party," Dorian replies as he enters near Kotal and Minu. "The guests eat until they're about to pop, drink until they're about to drop, and then try not to embarrass themselves all over the place. Just like back home. Though hopefully with less blood magic and fewer assassinations." Rave smiles at Maniko. "I really only wish I could have done more, but at least she's happy. "Ah! But blood, magic and assassinations is what makes any party grand, my dear Dorian." Kotal cackles somewhat malevolently at the mage's retort until he sees an excitable pair of twelve and ten year olds noticing the presence of the Trio. "Uh oh, brace yourself boys. You are about to receive a lot of attention." Ari is busy bustling in and out of the kitchen, giving directions to people and helping to start getting the non alcoholic grab and go drinks ready. Minerva, meanwhile, is doublechecking all the decorations and straightening things and oh god why is there open flame, quick move a ribbon away from that candle! Minu turns her head back to look at Dorian and nods smiling. The little elf also spots the young one coming toward the pups. She giggles softly "Yes you can pet them if they wish it. This is Rex, the middle brother is Jackson and the gruff fellow on the end is Buster." The young cat-girl with Danielle, even if she weren't already horribly shy, looks like she'd be avoiding the cerberus anyway, hiding behind her mother from him with her ears flattened in fear. Buster sighs as the they are noticed. "no you may not pet us..." he turns to his brothers. "how many people do we have to tell that we are three seperate people... just because we happen to share a body..." Jackson interupts the complaints and overides the awnser. "Actualy Rex here would love to have some company as would I." they sit down Rex looks estatic. The tail seems to be going nuclear at this point waving back and forth franticly. Emrys, the quiet twin brother of Lishra, walks calmly over to the Trio as well. The girls each pick one of the two that gave permission and start hugging and petting them. Emrys walks behind them and starts gently petting the Trio's back. Ari gets a signal, and hops up on stage. She taps the mic and smiles. "Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the newlyweds, Violet and Alexa Karrde-Donovan!" A spotlight comes on and shines down as the couple enters the room again. Minu turns toward the stage as Ari calls to the gathered. She smiles and clap her small hands as the couple is announced. Minerva claps loudly, and then puts two fingers to her lips in order to whistle properly. Violet's smile is absolutely beaming as she steps out with Alexa. While one hand is firmly grasped with Alexa's, the other, with the bouquet, raises up to wave to everyone here. "Thank you sooo much for coming, everyone!" If she's noticed the group of crashers, she doesn't seem to mind them. But that's a big if today. Rave cheers from her seat, clapping happily! Alexa smiles, laughing a little at the cheering as she squeezes Violet's hand. "We really can't tell you what it means to us, all of you bein' here to celebrate." Artanis claps and pumps his fist up in the air. "En Taro Violet! En Taro Alexa!" Violet laughs and calls out to Artanis, "/Now/ she's my wife!" in reference to the first time Artanis and Alexa met all those months ago. Minerva giggles. "My neice is so cute today!" Must... not... pinch cheeks. Must not! Resist! Instead she wiggles happily in place. Miriya says, "Well it's good to see that the first date you were so worried about has worked out well." Violet laughs and nods at what Miriya says. "Yooooooou made me afraid she'd try to kill me!" Artanis has no mouth but if he did he would be smiling now. Alexa blinks at that, looking back and forth between Miriya and Violet. "Wait, you thought I'd do what now?" Violet shakes her head and leans into Alexa. "You want to explain that one, Miriya?" The Karrde kids, ironically referred to in their family as 'the terrible trio', continues petting and fawning over the canine Trio. Buster looks unamused at best. But Jackson and Rex seem to be very happy with themselves and where they find themselves. Rex voices an opinion as Emrys starts petting the back. "Yep... Life is good." he says they slowly start to go from a sitting posture to laying down, but being as big as they are that is not really a problem for anyone still giving affection. Kotal watches on and approaches closer towards the newly wed with Minu in tow. "Congratulations! Violet, your sister would be quite proud of you, I am certain of it." Violet blinks as Kotal approaches and adresses her. "I, uh... huh?" She takes a moment to connect what, or rather who Kotal is talking about. "Oh. Well... I guess? Thanks..." Maniko frowns as Kotal and Violet talk, then sighs and says quietly, "I should have encouraged Violet and Rayne to get to know each other more..." Alexa takes her hand out of Violet's and slips her arm around her waist instead, hugging her gently. Minu happily follows her bond mate over to the couple and smiles brightly. She pushes her glasses up her nose and nods "yes, I think Rayne would be very happy for you today." Miriya shrugs. "I was just telling her about my first date with my husband. It went well, too." Rei looks puzzled. but unconcerned. Marque, the oldest of Raven's kids by quite a bit, narrows his eyes at something, walks into the kitchen, and pushes his aunt Ari out of it. The elf protests, and Marque calls out to Gonfei. "No kitchen for her!" Gonfei puts a hand on Ari's shoulder. "You heard the young man. Let the cooks do their job." He then tries to turn her around to shove her back out among the crowd. The war god smiles to Minu and nods before turning to the two new wives. "A pity that Rayne was not here to witness this marvelous union, but we do wish to extend her best wishes in her behalf." He opens his glowing palm towards Violet and Alexa. "I cast upon you the blessing of Huitzilopotchli. Strength upon the both of you, and that the sun ever lights your path." Thankfully he doesn't burn their skin in the process-- that sort of mark is reserved only for certain unruly hyenas. Instead, Violet and Alexa will only feel pleasant warmth upon them as if they were standing in the open sun.. even though they are indoors right now.. Ari scowls. "Excuse me, who runs this place?" she wrinkles her nose, and is about to protest more when she eeps! and whips her head around, to where her sister Raven is waving at her, her hand covered in crackles of electricity. Muttering, the elf gets out from behind the bar. Violet deadpans to Miriya, "You said you tried to kill him." She laughs once, then turns back to Kotal again as she slips her own arm around Alexa's waist as well, now. "Well, thank you, Kotal, I-" She then takes a step back, the feeling of being in the sun taking her off guard. Miriya says, "At any rate. My congratualations to the two of you. And best wishes Commander from your entire flight wing." She salutes. "...and I married him instead. Your point?" Minerva leans against the wall, sipping a glass of water she obtained from somewhere. For the moment, she's content to observe and watch out for trouble. She seems calm and relaxed, honest! Gonfei smirks at Ari as Raven gets her to go out on the floor, while Maniko raises an eyebrow slightly at the lightning. The look doesn't last, however, as she then laughs. As Gonfei looks out over the floor, he frowns as he spots Minerva looking out over the floor like that. He quickly writes a small note, then folds it up into a paper airplane before throwing it at her. "Indeed!" Artanis pipes up telepathically when Miriya makes mention of the entire flight wing. "Congratulations, Executor! Ensign. I wish you both the best." The Protoss then offers a salute. Alexa smiles at the strange warm feeling, and leans her head on Violet's. "Yes, thank you, sir." she smiles, then nods at Miriya. "Thank you so much!" She chuckles. "I'm tryin' to properly show my gratitude, but my head's kinda swimmin'. Violet gives her subordinates a salute with the bouquet before laughing. In her mind, she looks rediculous salututing in a wedding dress with the bouquet like that. "Well, my stomach, I think, is finally settled enough to get something to eat. What do you say to that, Mrs. Karrde-Donovan?" Miriya beams. Rei is way ahead of everyone. having a neatly stacked pyramid of food on her plate. Minerva carefully unfolds the paper airplane, and reads the note. She makes a face at Gonfei, but moves to actually sit down at one of the tables, smoothing her skirt with her hands before tapping fingers against her arm. Looks like she's waiting for a shoe to drop. Rave takes a deep breath and manages to get to her feet, somewhat waddling over to the buffet with a hand resting on her stomach. When she gets there, the attendant hands her a somewhat larger plate. "From your sister." he says almost with a 'don't kill the messenger look. Raven narrows her eyes and just starts loading up the plate. Alexa smiles at Violet. "Well, I reckon that's a mighty fine idea, Mrs. Karrde-Donovan." she winks, leading her wife to the buffet. Rei retires to a table setting with her plate of food. and begins eating quietly Violet is quite easily led, leaning over to give Alexa a kiss on the cheek on the way. "I'm having a hard time beleiving we've actually done it," she says quietly, then she's on to piling up her plate as well! Alexa chuckles as she loads up her plate. "I know! By the way, you look absolutely gorgeous, darlin'. Better than I dreamed." Ari starts making the rounds along the room, seeing if anyone needs anything. Minu turns her attention to Kotal as the couple moves away I read somewhere that there was often champagne served at weddings, I have never had champagne... "Well, what better time to try that than now!" Smiles Kotal to Minu before calling for the bartender. "Champagne for my family and I please." He assumes Dorian wants some champagne so he orders one for him too. "I forget, my dear. Are the boys of enough age to drink?" He leans over to ask Minu. Minerva giggles as she overhears Violet. "Well, your chances were better than mine are," she notes aloud, ad takes another sip of her drink, content to people watch for now. Ari smirks at Minerva, standing next to her. "I hear you on that one." One of the waiters comes by and gives Ari a beer. Minu smiles as Kotal makes his order then shakes her head hard and looks horrified for a moment "Oh NO Kotal, no alcohol for the pups, its very bad for dogs, even magical ones. Their bodies don't metabolize it like humans and other human like folk do." Violet says, "So do you, Love. And it really does feel like a dream... I'm expecting to wake up any time now." As her food is piled up, she makes her way over to the table of honor. "Well, I'm glad you two are finally stopping trying to work here, then. Go on, get some food! If I can eat on my nerves tonight, I'm sure you two can!" The Karrde kids finally decide to leave the poor Trio alone as they head over to the food. The look of fear on the attendant's face is... quite noticeable. Rei ponders the bar. Typically she orders fruit juice but the standard appears to be this Champagne substance... Maniko decides now is an appropriate time to make her way to the buffet as well. Not too far behind her are Danielle and her daughter. It seems the bartender from the Cats' Meow is perfectly fine with staying a wallflower in all this, and the young cat-girl doesn't look like she's ready to talk to any strangers, either. "Oh, right, I knew that!" Kotal tries to laugh it off and clears his throat trying to rectify his order. "No champagne for the boys." Gonfei soon arrives with the champaign for Kotal and his party. "Here you are. Though I do find it a bit odd that you're not ordering Pulque for once." Minerva looks up at Violet. "My job is to make today as easy as possible on you. Not that easy a thought to turn off once we hit this stage, you know?" Mina shrugs elegantly, and starts fiddling with a small ball of water, rolling it from finger to finger. Alexa smiles, finishing putting food on her plate and following Violet to the table, pulling out a chair for her to sit. "I still ain't certain I'm gonna eat much, but I'm sure as hell gonna try! Violet says, "Save room for cake~!" Kotal chuckles at Gonfei as he accepts the champagne. "Well, it -has- been quite a while since I've partaken in champagne. As delectable as pulque is, sometimes I crave something else. Surely you understand.. Huitzilopotchli.." He smiles using a name that Gonfei was once known as. Dorian does accept the champagne when ordered. "Thank you," he offers to Gonfei. Champagne is a sipping beverage, and he does so. He also listens at the conversation about Kotal's name. Dorian is unaware that others have gone by that name. When the champagne is delivered the little elf accepts her glass with a smile and a little nod thank you she chirps. The little elf takes a sip, the bubbles tickling her nose. She giggles and wrinkles that pert little nose. Miriya finally makes her way to the Buffet and begins picking over her choices. Gonfei smirks slightly as he's adressed that way. "I really don't go by that name anymore. That's pretty far back in the past, you know. Have a pleasant night. We can discuss Rayne another time." With that said, he walks off to take care of someone else. It seems some of the NTSDF group that was here are already on their second round. Violet digs into the first few bites of her food herself, but then forks a bit of Alexa's food, bringing it up to her wife's mouth. Kotal rises an eyebrow at Gonfei's suspicious stand offish nature tonight but shrugs, deciding not to press it any further. Instead he turns to Minu and smiles to her, caressing her chin after she sips her drink. "What do you think, beloved? Is it everything you imagined?" Alexa blushes a little and takes the bite of food offered. "Mmmm... that is delicious!" Ari puts her beer down and starts swishing some water in her mouth. She heads over to the employee lounge and peeks her head in. Seeming to get a satisfying answer to something, she heads back on stage and taps the mic again. "Alright folks, if you can clear the floor, it's time for the brides' first dance! Minu lifts her big golden eyes toward Kotal as he stroke her chin. She giggles and licks her lip "its very bubbly, it tickles my nose. It seems very light , not at all like that dwarven ale I had with Muradin that time." The little lady chatters for a moment before taking another much longer sip. Alexa stands up, offering her hand to Violet. "Shall we, Mrs. Karrde-Donovan?" Violet smirks to Alexa. "Well, it's time for our big debut, hrm?" She takes one last bite before taking the offered hand. "Of course, Mrs. Karrde-Donovan." With that, the two move on out to the floor. Minerva finally goes to get food after watching the line shrink down to reasonable. She doesn't take much time filling her plate up before returning to her seat. "Yes, champagne is far more delectable than hard liquor. Suitable for gathering such as this." Agrees Kotal whilst taking a sip of it as well. "Though I am no connoisseur of such, that would be Dionysus-- that lout, I wonder if he ever got a real job." He makes a face as his remember his fellow deity, though he is soon looking forward towards the ballroom where Alexa and Violet will be dancing. Out of habit, he then reaches for Minu and sits her on his lap as he tends to do. Ari waits patiently on stage for the brides to get to the floor. "Ladies and gentlemen, presenting Mrs. and Mrs. Karrde-Donovan for their first dance as a married couple." She then, instead of signaling the DJ, gets her blue guitar and is joined on the stage by a couple of members of her house band. The lights dim, and the holograms come back up, but instead of fish, it's a field of stars. In the stars, flying around, are comets and ships, but not just any ships; they're the star ships of Violet and Alexa's lives. The music starts slow, with drums and guitars, and Ari starts singing, occasionally joined by the other guitarist in harmony. "I'm gonna ride this plane out of your life again. I wish that I could stay, but you argue. More than this, I wish you could've seen my face, in back seats staring out the window." Violet wraps her arms around Alexa, laying her head on her shoulder as she slowly dances. Sure... she's not the most skilled dancer, but this dance isn't about skill. It's about her and Alexa. Alexa pulls Violet close to her, slipping her arms around the other woman's waist. "I gotta come clean about somethin'. I wasn't exactly stayin' at home when you were on duty. I was sorta gettin' dance lessons." She winks at Violet and starts swaying with her, actually staying in time to the music for once. The little elf settles into the war gods lap and drains her glass. The lady wiggles her glass and looks up at her bond mate with a little pout. "I'm all out" she sighs looking adorably pitiful. Violet laughs and kisses Alexa's cheek. "Oh, you cheater! And here I was thinking I'd totally show you up on the dance floor tonight!" Minerva sighs wistfully as she watches the two swirl around the dance floor. She really is happy for the two, and lifts her glass in a silent toast to the happy couple. Kotal laughs at Minu's display and holds her close to him. "So I see! Only one way to fix that I think." The war god calls for more champagne whilst he kisses Minu's pointy ear. Ari continues to strum and sing. "I've earned through hope and faith, the curves around your face, that I'm the one you'll hold forever. If morning never comes for either one of us, then this I pray to you wherever." She smiles between the verses, watching the two dance. "I'll do anything for you. This story is for you. I'll do anything for you, kill anyone for you. So leave yourself intact 'cause I won't be coming back. In a phrase to cut these lips, I loved you." Alexa giggles and kisses Violet softly. "Hey, I gotta try to keep up with you in some respect... wife." she winks. Maniko watches the two dance, then looks back to Raven. "Well, I think things have definitely turned out well." She glances about the room, spotting those from her own past... Gonfei and Jack, and she frowns. "Better than they have for me in that regard... but I suppose I'm just too married to the job." Gonfei soon returns with more champaigne for Kotal's party. "Be careful now," he says to Minu. While she's definitely not underage, she is a bit undereweight, and he's going to keep an eye out for needing to cut her off if this gets to be too much for her. Violet smiles and leans her forhead against Alexa's. "Wife, if that were really a concern, I'd hold back for you any day." With that said, she straightens her head before tilting it to the side to move in for a kiss. Rave smiles a little at Maniko. "Honestly, after Jack I didn't even think I'd find anyone else. But here I am pregnant with twins and.." she catches herself on something and coughs to try to cover it up. "Engaged." Minu smiles brightly up at Kotal and then offers a beaming smile to Gonfei as he returns with more champagne. The little lady wrinkles her nose and giggles at the kiss to her eat and twitters merrily as she take a drink out of her fresh glass of champagne. The little elf is indeed a light weight and well truth be told. Her brand of elf seems to be particularly easy to intoxicate with alcohol. She licks her lip then turns a little toward Kotal. "they are so pretty..." she sighs as she glaces toward the dancing couple. Maniko raises an eyebrow, but says nothing. "Well, I'm afraid I've just been too busy for it, for the most part. And then I had that whole arranged marraige debacle. /That/ sure went well." She rolls her eyes as she says this, clearly being sarcastic about how well that went. Alexa happily leans in for the kiss, and lets it linger for quite some time longer than what would be considered proper in any other circumstance. But hey, she just got married, so she'll let it last as long as she wants! Violet doesn't seem to have any objections as to the length of this kiss! The band plays on, and finishes out the song. "The morning will come, in the press of every kiss with your head upon my chest, where I will annoy you with every waking breath until you decide to wake up..." The song wraps up and Ari smiles. "Congratulations Violet and Alexa! May you have many happy years together!" Who is Kotal to deny his beloved anything? Well, yes, he -is- the God of War, but that means nothing when the whims of Minu are concerned. Therefore, he just chuckles some more when Minu drinks more of her champagne even though she's clearly getting drunk fast. "Indeed they are." He smiles towards the two new wives and cradles his elf closer to his chest. "Though not as beautiful as you, my dear." Kotal grins and kisses Minu's champagne flavored lips. Minerva stands up and walks to the bar. "Margarita please," she orders, "Extra shot of tequila in it." As she's here, there's no threat to fight except her own mind and insecurities, why the hell not? "Yeaah!! Wooo!!" A loud voice is heard inside everyone's head. Then a hard banging as Artanis claps by way of slapping his hand on a table since his other hand is holding a beer. Looks like the Protoss got drunk. "And the Zerg can go screw themselves!!" He then drains his mug by teleporting the beverage into his stomach before slamming it on the table again. "Aaaaah!!" Gonfei starts making mental notes on who to cut off. Minerva, however, is not on the list yet, so she gets her extra tequila margarita. Violet doesn't seem to notice the end of the song at first, but then blinks and pulls Alexa back to the table, where a glass of champaigne is waiting for each of them. Violet sweatdrops at Artanis' antics, and says to Alexa, "I think this one might be my only drink tonight, knowing what a lightweight I am.... I wanna remember the whole night, afterall." Rave cheers at the couple as the song ends. "Arranged marriages are rarely a good... what the..??" she winces as the Protoss yells in her head. "Ooookay then! Danielle sighs and facepalms as her daughter looks around in surprise at the drunken telepathic shout. "This is why you don't get to see where I work, Azalyn. It's about twenty times worse than that there, only without the telepathy." Alexa grins at Violet. "Yeah, me too." she chuckles, raising the glass to her wife. "To us. Minerva takes her drink and sits back down at her seat. The salt on the rim of the glass gets a delicate little lick, followed by a sip of alcohol. She replies, also mentally but on a tighter narrow beam, "I don't even know who the Zerg are, but all right. Fuck em." Maniko shrugs. "Well, he was a nice guy... a bit flakey, but I think Rayne liked him more than I did." Violet smiles brightly and holds up her glass and clinks it against Alexa's. "To us." She then hooks her arm with Alexa's at the elbow before taking a sip. A telepathic burp is heard and Artanis looks around confusedly. "Wait, what just happened?... How did I do that?" He has no mouth so.. wait, is this the first time he's drinking? "I disagree," Dorian replies to Artanis's statement. "I don't care who they are, I demand a drink and dinner first." Ari hops off the stage and goes back to puttering and being the boss instead of a guest. Raven notices this, and asides something to Lishra. The little redhead grins, stands up and walks over to Ari. "Sorry Aunt Ari! Mom's orders." Lishra waves a hand, and Ari is lifted, cursing up a storm in Elven, and gets floated to her seat. Telepathic laughter is the response to Dorian and Artanis shakes his head. "Oh you Terrans and your humor! You are -such- an interesting species, I love it!" He then starts wobbling a bit. The little elf melts into that kiss with Kotal. She tilts her head and leans into him so that she is glued to the front of the war god. There is no missing that heated kiss, evidently chatty isn't the only thing alcohol does to the wood elf. Alexa smiles, sipping her champagne, suprisingly not spilling any. Minerva can't help but grin, and lifts up her glass in a salute to Dorian's witicism before taking a larger sip of her alcohol. "We try, Artanis." She reaches up with one finger to push a stray grain of salt from the glass into her mouth, then munches on her meal. Oh my, things are starting to get a bit heated, and Kotal doesn't mean just the telepathic alien drunkard over there. He leans into the kiss for a long time before picking Minu bridal style and excusing himself along with his very tipsy wife. Violet sets her glass down and proceeds to lean on Alexa, closing her eyes. Is the adrenaline of the entire day starting to wear off? "I love you. You know that, right?" About this time the DJ takes his place at the booth, and starts playing some fast songs to dance to. The Karrde kids take to the dance floor and start to well, dance. Raven smirks at them. "That's it my little minions, wear yourself out..." Alexa leans her head on Violet's. "Well, I sure hope so, beautiful, or else this was a hell of a party for nothing!" she teases. Danielle says something quietly to her daughter, and then the cat-girl timidly goes out to join the other somewhat older children on the dance floor. She then proceeds to start dancing like an absolute goofball, though she still looks a bit wary of the Karrde children, her ears still pointed more to the sides. Violet picks her head up and turns to kiss Alexa's cheek before returning to leaning on Alexa again. "The party's as much for all them as it is for us. I'm really glad we got to do this whole thing." Minerva smiles a warm smile towards Violet. "I'm really glad you two got to do this too. It has been a lovely time, honest." After a little while longer of the dancing and revelry, Marque von Tilsen disappears into the kitchen for a moment. He comes back out wheeling a cart with a multiple tiered cake. The icing is pristine white, and cascading down the side are gorgeous violets made of frosting with decorative edible beading. Alexa chuckles. "Yeah, me too. Thanks for everythin' you've done, Mina. We really appreciate it." she kisses the top of Violet's head. "And thank you for talkin' me into the whole gettin' rid of sides thing. It turned out beautiful. Violet says, "Told yoooou~!" She smiles and snuggles in, but then glances out and sees the incoming cake. "Oop. One of the two traditions left to do, coming out of the kitchen now!" Minerva holds up her hands. "I'm not getting close, no desire to get showered in crumbs," she jokes cheerfully. Another neat sip of her drink, savoring the burn down her throat. Alexa smiles as she sees the cake. "What traditions are left? Wait... showered in crumbs?" she arches a brow. The Karrde kids happily start dancing with the new girl, as they all dance awkwardly as kids do. Violet grins at Minerva. "She doubts our ability to cut a cake without making a mess. And the other tradition would be throwing the bouquet." Minerva gives Violet a single arched eyebrow of You Know Exactly What I Expect. And the fact that Violet isn't saying face smushed with cake makes her wonder things. Danielle takes a sip of her wine now that Azalyn is out there dancing with the other children. Sure, the cat-girl is a few years younger, but it's still a closer age-gap than with anyone else the timid girl knows. An attendant lays out the cake cutting utensils in front of the brides. Alexa grins. "Well it is a gorgeous cake. Almost seems a shame to cut into it. Almost." she chuckles. Ari attempts to stand to help, but finds her self stuck to the chair somehow. Minerva whistles innocently while sipping her margarita. Violet nods to Alexa. "Almost." She takes one of the utensils, and starts cutting into the cake! And somehow in the middle of all this. Jack Karrde returns, and well..he's out of the formal attire and back into something comfortable. Yes, the long coat ensemble..and don't worry, no blaster or anything. Falcon made sure of it. It's safely locked up on the Falcon. And he sighs as he runs a hand through his hair as he goes to sit down, close to Maniko. Rave, who is sitting next to Maniko and having quite a lovely conversation, actually, smiles as her younger kids include the new girl. It's good to see them socialize. She then smiles as Jack comes back. "Shame, you look good in a tux." she grins. Minerva salutes Jack with her now half-empty margarita glass as he walks in. "Why hello there brother oh mine. Lovely party." And it's just a whim, really, that had her saying that in the same tone as the guy who said it in the Shining. Yeah. Putting out fires all day, finally relaxing... Maniko laughs and nods. "I was honestly shocked to see him in one." Alexa smiles and holds out a plate for the cake as Violet cuts it. She's less watching what Violet is doing, but just watching her for the sake of watching her. Karrde looks at Maniko and Raven, "Just for this..and of course when the other kids are ready to be married. That's it." he says to the two. And he looks at Mina, "Hey Mina..oh.." and he notes the half empty glass. "..Mina. How many have you had?" Minerva chuckles. "First. No worries, just crashing from lack of stress now that the event's out of my hands." Mina giggles, and takes another sip, then studies the glass. "I could probably put runes in this to keep the drinks permenantly cold..." As the cake is now on the plate, Violet takes the fork and spears a bit of it, lifting it up to Alexa's mouth. Sure, she did this before with the actual dinner, but there's no rules against it multiple times! She does not, however, attempt to put the cake /on/ Alexa's face, but rather /in/ it. Apparently she's not aware of the modern tendency to intentionally miss the mouth. Ari scowls as she still struggles to get up, but then hmms, and starts hopping the chair out from the table. Raven rolls her eyes as she notices what her sister is doing. "Aerial, could you do me a favor and.. plant your aunt in place?" Aerial stops dancing and looks back and forth between Minerva and Ari. "Which one, Mom?" Raven chuckles. "The one trying to work during the party." she gestures to the half-elf. Aerial grins and nods, and with a gesture of her own, Ari's wooden chair starts sprouting branches and leaves. The branches snake to the floor and around the table legs, immobilizing the chair and with that, the elf herself. Alexa rather happily takes the bite of cake, and while she's chewing, takes a forkful of her own and follows suit, raising a bit to Violet's lips. Karrde looks at Ari, "Ari. It's a party, relax." and he looks at Raven, "What is it you two. Workaholics." but then again that is a case of Pot calling the Kettle black. He's one of the worse. Just ask his crew and Falcon. But then, he's always in 'Commander' mode. Minerva studies the glass a moment, then, tosses the rest of her margarita down her throat. A slender blade of energy emerges from one fingertip, and she starts scrawling right into the glass of the now-empty margarita glass while humming under her breath. Rave rolls her eyes a little. "Jack, I'm just about six months pregnant with twin boys who are not only kicking my ass and having mixed martial arts fights on my bladder, but rejecting pretty much everything I eat. I'm actually not allowed to work, doctor's, Blade's, Ari's and Zelan's orders. Which is really funny because Zelan is my employee. The margarita glass is glowing. Mina frowns, makes a small correction, and the glass changes color to the glow. She nods, and continues. Emrys sees what Mina is doing, and his curiosity takes hold. He walks over to her and just stands and watches, quiet as usual. Violet takes the cake offered, and when she swallows, she leans against Alexa once again. She's had enough to eat today already, and the one bite for ceremony's sake is enough for her tonight. Zelan, who has been keeping to herself most of the night, is also paying attention to Mina at the moment. Alexa chuckles and wraps her arms around her new wife. "Good day?" Minerva hums under her breath as the glass ... starts humming as well as glowing. It matches her hum, though, so that seems to be all right as Mina makes tiny movements with one finger, etching small pale blue runes into a softly glowing green glass. Mina makes a final mark, and the cup settles down, the glow and hum fading. "Okay, let's see if this works." She taps the edge... and it fills with ice! Unfortunately, a laser-sword cuts down through the table from the bottom of the glass. "Oh god WHAT?" Emrys' jaw drops and breaks his normal silence. "Wow... that was cool.." he says softly. From her position, Zelan is now laughing quite loudly at what Mina just did. "Oh, wow. How did you not see that coming?" she says, ignoring the obvious, 'was drunk' answer to her question. Violet says, "Hrrm. Maybe we should get to the boquet toss before Mina cuts through another table?" Rave motions to Aerial, who releases Ari. The elf stands up and wrinkles her nose at her sister. Minerva stares at the margarita glass. "I have never actually gotten a laser-sword to work, that's how. The closest I've ever come is claws from my fingertips." And now the ice is not only piling up in the glass, but spilling over the sides as she stares, a bit too dumbfounded to actually turn the rune cluster OFF. "Well that's a rune cluster I can never use again..." Karrde groans a bit at Mina's antics and sighs, "She's my sister, but I feel like I'm the sane one sometimes." he says softly. Alexa chuckles. "Sounds like a good idea. So how does that work?" Violet holds up her boquet. "Basically... I go out on the dance floor, face my back to everyone, and throw this over my shoulder without looking. All the single ladies then try to get it, and the superstition is that the one who catches it will be the next to get married." Alexa smiles and nods in understanding. "Sounds like fun!" Minerva rubs her thumb against the side of the glass, turning it off. She studies the glass for a few silent seconds. "I must have another after the flower toss, that was.... interesting." She grins. Oh god stop the mad science. Mina moves out onto the dance floor in preperation. Ari stands up and joins Mina on the floor. She grins over at Raven. "Hey, you coming, preggo?" Raven tilts her head, confused. "Why would I?" Karrde is staying out of the way...WAY out of the way. Maniko pauses a moment as she considers.... then shrugs and stands up as well, heading to the floor. Danielle, too, walks on out as well, then leans down to explain what's going on to the apparently quite sheltered Azalyn. Violet blinks as everyone starts talking about the bouquet toss, then shrugs and stands up. "Well, I guess it is time, then. Wish them luck, Love." She winks to Alexa, then starts walking out to the floor. Alexa looks over at the assembled group of women on the floor. "I would, but I've seen war. I know a battle brewin' when I see it. There is a mage over there who miiiiiight have had more than a few. Either that or he's found something other than champagne to drink! It's just as well he doesn't need to go out there for the bouquet toss, because it's unlikely he could find his feet at that moment anyway. Rave stays sitting, which gets a strange look from Ari. The elf hms, then turns back to the festivities at hand. Zelan, too, heads on out, grinning slightly. "No spells now, Miss Minerva. Let's be fair to everyone." Minerva smiles just a bit bitterly. "Good chance if I catch this my beau will bolt like a frightened rabbit. Really hoping to not catch, honestly." Violet turns her back on the small crowd there, holding out her boquet in front of her. Back behind her, the women and girls array themselves to be ready to catch the bouquet, though it seems many of them surprisingly don't have their heart in it. That said, the young cat-girl seems to have taken this as a challange, and has actually crouched slightly, seemingly tensed up to be ready for action! Her mother laughs and shakes her head, then takes a similar stance. Maniko smiles and looks far too casual, and Zelan is currently still laughing at Mina's botched spell, apparently. Not botched! It just had... unintended side effects. The glass made ice perfectly well. Ari smiles and looks ready to jump for it, if it heads her way. Alexa snickers. "Is this somethin' we shoulda been takin' bets on?" Karrde is suddenly well..someplace else. Like behind the bar, just in case something goes south. Trust me, half the people are related to him..he KNOWS the Karrde Luck and how it messes with reality. Rave watches Jack hide, and wonders if she should too after surveying the crowd. Then she looks at her stomach, decides it's too much effort right now, and sits back in her chair. Violet fakes throwing the bouquet a couple of times... then finally lets the thing fly! It goes a bit wide, alas. She's not used to throwing things over her shoulder with precision, let alone something as aerodynamically unstable as a bunch of flowers. As such, it's the one with the most scramble that ends up getting to it first! ...Which is of course the seven year old cat-girl. She outright /pounces/ on the flowers, making a bit of a cat-like sound as she does so! She then looks up as if she might have to defend her catch from the others. Minerva's eyes widen. "So the first from this group to wed... will apparently be a seven year old." Mina laughs. "Well, don't I feel like an old maid." She shakes her head, and makes her way back towards the bar, to order another "Margarita please." Gonfei laughs at the floor's antics, then raises an eyebrow at Minerva. "No more magic, though, okay?" Still, he does fill the order. Ari can't help but laugh. "Yeah, sounds about right. I knew I wasn't getting married anyway." she gives the kid a thumbs up. The Karrde sisters cheer for the younger girl. Minerva smiles a bit wryly. "Gonna need a little in a while, I flew here," she points out while shrugging her shoulders. "We're kinda far to walk." She grabs the margarita and takes a small sip. Azalyn finally stands up, then walks over to her mother to attempt to hand over the bouquet. "No, honey, you got it fair and square," says Danielle. Karrde is well, back from behind the counter. Okay, good no weirdness. That's good. And he hmms, "Yeah..I better go. I gotta deal with some stuff early in the morning." That and the player is fading fast. Work kicked his rear. Violet laughs and walks back to the table, sitting down and immediately leaning against Alexa again. "Well, that's the final tradition, I think." "Not quite!" says Zelan. She sits back down, then makes some motions with her hands after taking out her phone and putting it on the table in front of her. Soon, the hand motions look less like spellwork and more like she's actually controlling something as if in virtual reality. Minerva looks towards Zelan. "Rice, bubbles, or confetti?" Alexa hugs Violet tightly to her, kissing her cheek. The red-head shakes her head at Mina. "Well, maybe the rice thing, but it's not what I had a part in. I'm thinking more the vehicle with cans tied behind it and 'just married' painted on it." Well, it sounds like /something/ just landed outside. Rave smiles and finally, and awkwardly, gets to her feet. She exhales a bit and starts heading over to Violet. Minerva smiles. "Crude, almost obscene things scrawled on the car? I believe, 'she got hers, now he'll get his' is traditional, though not appropriate in this context." Violet hugs Alexa back. "Love you. But I think I might collapse from exaustion when we get out of here." Alexa chuckles. "You and me both, darlin'. Luckily we don't leave for the honeymoon 'til later and can sleep in. Violet says, "Sounds like we're gonna be flying out, though, from what I just heard." Zelan snorts slightly as she puts the cell phone away again. "Car. Sure." Ari grins at Zelan. "Did you do what I think you did?" Zelan looks to Ari. "...Remotely flew it to land outside? Yes." Rave smiles at the newlyweds. "Congratulations you two. Alexa, welcome to the family. Violet... I'm so proud of you." Violet smiles up at Raven. "Thanks, M... Rave." Well, there is that one bit of awkwardness. With Maniko also present, Violet doesn't feel comfortable calling Raven 'Mom'. Alexa smiles, nodding at Raven. "Thank you, ma'am." Zelan says, "Also, cans felt really small and ineffectual on something that size... So there's actually steel drums instead." Ari grins. "Arctic. Nice job, Zelan." Minerva laughs. "Good idea." Arctic? Takes her a few seconds to parse that as an extreme form of cool, but it works. "Anyone see where my modded margarita glass went?" Ari smirks. "Could you have impaled it in another one of my tables?" she laughs. Minerva waves a hand. "Nah, turned the rune off. But that did look cool, and there are kids around." Violet looks at Alexa, stifling a yawn. "Think we should make our exit? I think things are starting to wind down..." Alexa steps away from Violet and offers her arm. "That sounds like an amazin' idea, love. I ain't gonna stay conscious much longer either." Emrys tugs on Mina's arm. "I liked it." he says quietly. Minerva smiles at Emrys, and reaches out to gently hug him. "Thanks." Violet takes the arm and stands up, looking around the room. "Okay, everyone! It was a lovely time, and you're welcome to stay until Ari kicks you out, but it's time to throw rice, or popcorn, or whatever it is Ari's prepped up for you to throw at us!" Ari laughs. "My sister the industrial machinist and environmentalist, you can figure that one out, has helped me wrap lots of bird seed for your throwing enjoyment! The packets are on the table to the side of the bar! Minerva grins, and goes to grab a seed packet of her own. Well, at least she knows what to get Emrys when birthdays roll around: a laser sword adjusted so that it doesnt cut through anything, at worst acts like a stunner. Because KIDS. Violet takes Alexa on towards to doorway, then waits for everyone to gather up packets before kissing Alexa on the cheek again and says, "Well, let's go on with our new life, shall we?" Rave grabs a packet, and each of her kids follows suit, untying them. Alexa smiles lovingly at Violet. "Beautiful, nothin' would make me happier." Throwing things! While drunk! This can't go badly, not at all. Dorian manages to get up out of his chair without falling on his face, and sort of weaves over to the table where the packets are. He'll take one and then make his way over to where people are gathering. Don't mind the drunken mage bumping into people! Minerva grins, and readies a handful of birdseed. She reaches out to steady Dorian once he gets there, quite willing and able to help. "Steady does it. Don't make me make it rain on you for the sake of sobriety," Mina gently teases. Violet waves to everyone and starts making her way outside with Alexa. There, outside, stands the YT-2400 light freighters known as Outrider, newly restored from the wreck of a state it was found in a month and a half ago. The ramp is already down, and tied to the rear section with heavy cables are a group of full sized barrels. It certainly wasn't out there when everyone came in! Ari starts off the shower of birdseed! Alexa smiles as she sees the ship, even as birdseed rains on her head. "Perfect." she says, walking with Violet towards it. Minerva tosses birdseed happily in a wide arc, trying to make sure as much of it ends up in the happy brides' hair as possible. "Whoops! Terribly sorry, my lady!" Surprisingly Dorian's speech isn't too terribly slurred. Of course, given how careful he is to enunciate everything when not drunk, that's probably helping him here. "Though if I had to choose between rain and a slap in the face, I'd take the former every time." He smirks. When Ari starts throwing the birdseed, he follows suit, generally managing to keep most of it aimed in the right direction. More or less. The Karrde kids start throwing seed at the brides, but ends up throwing more of it at each other. Violet smiles as well, chuckling a bit at the bird seed, however. Soon, the two make it on up the ramp, and it closes behind them. It's not long at all before the ship lifts off, rotating around so the cockpit can be scene below, and in it are the two brides waving to everyone below. That doesn't last long, however, as it soon lifts up further before tilting and shooting off into the sky. | |
