I second that; well done. Have you considering making an animated version cycling through the logos?

The website updated again with a lot of new info! Looks like you are supposed to stream a device to the TV while everyone else just joins.

This really just looks like an updated version of the DVD though, which is kinda disappointing. Same board and everything. At least the Black Key is still there; I really liked that.

This makes me want to make a universal board that works for all the games and tweak the rules to my liking.

It also looks like the website is still being updated. Some of the pages still have SquareSpace placeholder text. There is a link for the rules, but they don't seem to be uploaded yet.

Edit: I just realized the front page doesn't link to the rest of the sit. The direct link is https://www.atmosfear.com.au/home

Is it me, or does the cover art look like David Whitney is back in the role?
I'm personally open to trying the game since Gatekeeper was my first experience :)
Who knows, maybe the sequel will bring back the Harbingers board?

I'm wondering how the international releases are gonna be handled.

1) When this game will release outside of Australia

2) How (if) the foreign language versions will work (whether it'd be like most of the VHS games and some of the Gatekeeper DVD ones where they hire a different actor for different versions (French, German, Italian, etc) or if they'll just dub over the English one (i.e. the Spanish and Dutch versions of Gatekeeper DVD).

Y'know, I was beginning to wonder if that "interactive" version we stumbled upon wasn't just using a placeholder image once the new Gatekeeper was shown. It'd be weird to have two products with two different Gatekeepers released at the same time. On the bright side, this also likely means that the board image is ALSO a placeholder and they're swapping things out as things become finalized.

...on the down side the box clearly specifies that the box is the game board, cards, and pieces and there is no DVD or VHS this time - just an app. That's terrifying considering how quickly support has been dropped for recent releases (the lack of an NTSC Khufu for example). How long before the servers close and the game becomes unplayable? What then?

Since at first glance they're building this version using the previous release as a template, it's probably safe to assume that either A) All versions will be identical or B) non-English speaking versions will be dubbed. It's a lot harder to swap out actors in makeup and add effects to them than it is to simply change the audio.

Honestly I'm all for a unified fan-created board as a stand-in in general. If we had our own board making fan-games would be significantly easier since we'd just plug them into our own setup. That said, we should probably wait until we know the new game is finalized so we can see what gets added into the mix, if anything. (I also wonder if they'd frown on such a thing since theoretically someone would use it to avoid paying for the real games (not that anyone can purchase the older ones at this point outside re-sellers)).

EDIT: Nevermind. The game clearly is finalized. I just noticed the board itself is already re-branded. That's a shame.

Knowing how distribution works, the game has to be finalized at this point. Almost all board games are produced in China and shipped via cargo ship. So the game is likely on a boat now.

I will wait till we see the full rules before I start actually making a fan board. I don't think they will frown on anything because you'd actually need the full game to make use of it. The only thing I know for sure is the center ring will be in the style of the Nightmare board (if I can swing it) and more paths for the DVD and new version.

While it seems like it may be the same game that was on eBay, if they have new footage why would they print a box with the old Gatekeeper?
