Kickstarter

Has anyone asked Philip Tanner, if the fans can successfully make a kickstarter for it, if he'd be willing to release a Nightmare V? If it's funded with fan money and the units are already sold and paid for? Just an idea!

It is unlikely a kickstarter for Nightmare 5 would do well. Nightmare is pretty old at this point so a lot of people will have to get the base game. It would also compete with the new app-based version.

It would be for people who already own Nightmare, and only for the people who contribute to the kickstarter, not for retail stores.

The money would go toward hiring an actor, an editor and to create the cards. The rulebook, box and video can be digital to save costs.

It would please older fans and if it gets enough interest afterwards, they can sell more in batches online.

This would be a relatively small side project compared to their new games where they pay for the CGI, voice actors, distributors, advertising, new physical game pieces and board etc. :)

It would not get off the ground. There are not enough people with the base game to make this possible as people get rid of their games, lose them, lose the pieces, or just lose interest. The kickstarter would be lucky to hit 1,000 in contributions...and that wouldn't cover the cost of translation services.
