Apologies for not posting any updates, I had a hell of a time getting the Baron Samedi tape upscaled. Windows decided it would be a great idea to restart for an update halfway through the upscaling process, but it's now in 4K!

There are a lot of new enhancements and things I'm attempting to work on for this tape. First of all, the Baron's color palette shifts a few times as you get closer to the end, so a few more settings and adjustments have to be made when the changes occur. Without getting too technical, the chroma key/blur effect used can sometimes incorrectly adjust to the new sets of colors that come up, so it just needs some slight tweaks each time it happens.

Another problem is the timer! In the Australian release, it's a darker purple with a new font, and stays like that throughout the whole tape, but for the US/UK release, it only stays that way for the first minute and 2 seconds, then switches over to the same font and colored used in the Base Game tape.

It's such a weird oversight that always threw me off when I was younger, but doing research on why it's like that makes sense: The US/UK releases have different timings on certain Time cards, the Baron's dance at the 50 minute mark is shortened, and the last 10 minutes got censored a bit (No more hanging eyeball!).

So with a bit of editing magic, I'm attempting to make the first minute and 2 seconds match with the rest of the tape! There are several ways to do that (One of them is I'd like to turn the original timer into a font and remake it in HD), but I'd also like to avoid the problem the Base Tape upscale had with the timer being too dark. I've also tried to look for the exact font that's used for the timer, but I can't find it anywhere online, leading me to believe it was custom made for Nightmare/Atmosfear.

I'll keep everyone here posted on what I decided to go with!

A double post on the project, but I was hoping to have it up by this weekend.

Instead, I decided to take the difficult route to fix the dark timer: I remade the original font used for it!

The English subtitles are up for Baron Samedi! Atmosfear: The Harbingers is still being held up on account of just how much there is to do for it, but it's getting done!

As for future tapes (Primarily III and IV), I currently don't have them. So the next time you see me post here, I'll be starting Anne de Chantraine once it's in my possession!

Good news! I managed to snag a copy of Nightmare III last week, and have already gone through the upscaling process!

I'm currently working on editing the tape, including implementing the new timer assets I made for the Baron Samedi upscale.
