Attempting to Make Atmosfear DVD in Tabletop Sim

I have seen a version of Gatekeeper in TTS in Italian

But I have not seen a version of Khufu.

I am looking to begin work on this after the translation is done.

Does anyone happen to know where to even start with that kind of thing?

(If this isn't allowed to be discussed then please lock this. I am not 100% sure if this post would or wouldn't break Forum rules.)

The trouble with Khufu's files is that they play REALLY weird, unless you're playing the DVD as a whole. They glitch, and jump every so often

Idk if BonsaiTreehouse can back me up, but when I was working on the soundtrack, I had to convert each file I wanted to use

So TL:DR- It's possible, but with a tedious extra step

Yeah I noticed that when I tried a rip. I think it would be designed for people who OWN the game (they would have the DVD anyway so.) it would be getting the Board, Cards, Symbol Dice, and Playing Pieces

Gotcha! In that case, scanning the board is a better place to start than any- I'm just thinking that the chambers would be quite interesting to program

Indeed. I would think it would be either a Miniature or a Card. But rn I’m still working on Express of course.

I used Adobe Premiere to edit the Khufu clips (each housing multiple chapter scenes) and splice the audio together while separating them from the video. Same goes for the Gatekeeper DVD clips. This is entirely because of the file formats I was working with as opposed to the VHS clips where I could just rip the audio from a convenient online ripper and insert directly into Adobe Audition or Audacity instead.

I don't know what kind of software you were using on your end Nons (though I am curious), but I personally found that I didn't need to convert the DVD clips beforehand and don't recall experiencing stuttering between clips or chapters during my editing sessions.

The DVD clips by themselves can be played in their originally intended fashion however, jumping to all the correct scenes even after being ripped entirely to PC storage. Don't know if anything besides VLC media player can do it or if such a player can be used in conjunction with Tabletop Sim, but it can be done. Even the menu selection stuff works just fine too.

I was about to start a new thread to declare it, then realised this was the same topic
Anywho:

I've now begun my own work on Khufu in Tabletop Sim
I've finished all the scans today (Happy to add them to the wiki if you like) and have stitched the board together from an A4 scanner

Gonna begin basic 3D Modelling at some point for the chambers :)

Nice! I have done a VERY low-level version for friends. (Using Tiles for the chambers. A simple custom token for the sarcophagus. and some quick card scans) I would like to see the new stuff added to the wiki indeed.
I will also be excited to hear about a full release (I have done Low-Level Versions of Both Gatekeeper and Khufu)

Perfect methods! I did roughly the same- D&D walls for the chambers, and a tinted block for the sarcophagus. Probably gonna learn basic 3D modelling to implement them properly

I'll DM you my Steam if you ever wanna play :)

Dang! That looks as my name implies Ery Noice. But yeah I’d be down to play at some point. I’ll also send a SS of my Low Level Version.
