...like I've stated before. This is my escape. In reality I work in a gas station of all places. Originaly I was supposed to be this great artist. I took all these art classes and loved every second of them. But, life has a funny way of changing your plans. For awhile I occupied myself drawing little anti-work comics about my job centered around a disgruntled sandwich maker named Chuck. Somehow, people where reminded of Johnny from all this. It wasn't until several years later that I discovered the maniac, finaly answering many questions I'd had over the years.

When I began to become obsessive over role playing I took on the persona of Johnny C who, much to my surprise, actualy was quite similar to my own disgruntled creation. Well, not to let my artistic skills die I began doing little NNY related art projects here and there while waiting for people to take their turns in RP. Also, any practice in new artistic skills I've done in the past year (such as various coloring and shading techniques) I've done using scans I'd done of JtHM comics. Where does this leave me? With a rather unique collection of work done in Jhonnen's style. Featured here is a collection of such works for your amusment. I hope you enjoy them...

I've decided to stop updating this page too. If you wanna see -original- JtHM related artwork head over to my DeviantArt site. My projects, aside from icons, are reaching that point where they now make me nervous to post. I sent a letter to QuestionSleep.com about asking for persmision to post them, and as they've not responded (and likely never will) I'm not posting anymore than I already have. If you insist on getting copies of what I've been working on, email me or go steal my icons from Live Journal as I'm constantly trading them out with new ones. I need to quit focusing on other people's artwork and get back to dealing with my own...

This is one of my favorites. Not only is it scanned and edited to remove text, you'll notice I went so far as to add textures to the objects in the room. Color scheme for NNY is from his I Feel Sick appearance that I base all my colorising projects upon.

A relativly simple one I used as an icon on Live Journal that took on several color schemes over the course of a year. Originaly the colors where based on the back page of SQUEE'S Wonderful Big Giant Book of Unspeakable Horrors until I began to use the darker I Feel Sick colors. (I tweaked the contrast too...)

Did you really think I wasn't going to try a few actual pages of the comic? I honestly have no desire to color the whole of the series. (Well, maybe if you paid me...) Anyways, I was trying for a cross between Invader Zim and I Feel Sick. I'm rather pleased with the result.

This was a fun one. Not only did I get a little bit too creative with the dirt and clothing, but I managed to redo the seldom noticed UFO in the sky to the colors of the Irken Fleet. SQUEE! Believe it or not, I didn't do anything special to the clouds. All that is one color which goes to show you how great a job Jhonnen did with the original black and white image.

Probably everyone's favorite image and the one I used in the site's logo. I'm still searching for a larger scan of the original (the graffic novel doesn't have this one) so this is the best you get. I did, however, create a rather nice desktop background from it using one of my favorite quotes. If you'll notice in the comics NNY speaks in what is later refered to as the INVADER font. The font does not come with punctuation marks, so I combined INVADER with EBOLA (the font with the backward E's).

I hope someone appreciates the work that went into this. Taken from a tiny inch and a half image and blown up to a width of 1024 pixels I was astonished at the amount of detail that had gone into the original and worked extremly hard on this as a result of it. Using a cityscape from I Feel Sick #1 I took all the colors you see in the image doing my best to keep them looking appropriate. If there was any I'd send to Jhonnen requesting feed back, this would be the one... By the way, the pink curtain is from the back cover of the Johnny the Homacidal Maniac graffic novel.

What can I say? I was very bored... Cutting NNY out of the bathroom image and overlapping it on the house I decided it would be amusing to make a campain flyer. Wanting another Jhonnen Vasquez character for a running mate seemed the best way to go. I didn't however expect to find an original production image of Gir covered in blood while trying to choose. Why he was covered in blood is what I want to know...

More boredom and an experiment with tiles. People who pay close attention will notice that the daggers on the wall line up all the way accross it. Makes a nice desktop, but that's about it...

I love the way this one looks when it's reduced. It's from the first page of NNY's trip to hell with the head of the demon Noodle Boy removed. I can't even begin to tell you all the effects I did to this thing. The larger image is extremly large so I don't have to keep resizing a smaller one for diffrent projects.

Well, I did state that I used to draw. I took all these classes and then just stoped. Well, my friend Arthur needed an image for his Samantha character and while playing around with the idea I sketched one of Sammy and NNY sitting together. I like it. Coloring it was a project in itself as there is actualy four diffrent color patterns for it...

Looking for new Live Journal icons I threw these together. I rather like the way they turned out. Not much to really comment on, just some basic coloring and resizing. I did move the text bubble on "noise" and I removed the border from "sigh" but that's it for major edits.

Sigh... (100x100)
They make so much noise... (100x100)
Saddly, there is no larger image for this one. What you see is all there is. I threw this together to go with the quote on the top of the main page, but then decided it best to move the quote down to the bottom so the image didn't clash with the main logo. Reguardless I'm proud of the final result. Colors for Schmee are from the back cover of SQUEE'S Wonderful Big Giant Book of Unspeakable Horrors. The house colors are the same as the last one I did.
