Violet is currently sitting at the darkest corner she could find available, sullenly looking down into a nearly emptied glass.

Alexa walks in, not looking around, going right to the bar and orders some sort of strong drink. She doesn't look happy.

Violet looks up from her drink just in time to see Alexa walk in. She smiles at first, then notices the expression on her face. With a light biting of her lower lip, she stands up, taking her glass in hand, and cautiously approaches Alexa. "Hey," she says, a bit quietly. Perhaps too quietly, given the volume of the music in this place. Her voice is a bit lower in tone than usual, as well, and sounds just a bit scratchy.

Alexa turns when she hears Violet's voice, and says "Hey." before sipping her drink. She still doesn't look happy.

Violet says, "Hey, um... Glad you made it out okay, uh... you didnnn't return my call, so... I di... didnint know what hhhhappened." Oh dear... She's definitely been drinking."

Alexa scowls, and just chugs her drink. "Yeah, I was out considerin' while I was in the middle of tryin' to be a good guy I was picked up like a hunk of meat and dropped off miles away. Rather humiliatin', if ya think about it. I know I'm new to this whole hero thing, but I guess I'll never know if I'm any good at it if at the first sign of trouble my girlfriend orders one of her lackeys to toss me over his shoulder and run.

Violet blinks a bit, taking a slight too long to process that information. "But I..." She pauses again, looking down at her nearly emptied drink. "I just wanted to..." She groans and sits down at the bar so she can drop her head onto it. "Goddamn it, I couldn't do annathin right yeshterday." After another few seconds she adds, "S'not my lackey. Barely know 'im more'n you do," though that part's a bit muffled.

Alexa says, "Really?" she orders another drink. "'Cause it sure as hell seemed to me he was at your beck an' call." Her drink appears rather quickly. "Wouldn't listen to a damned word I said. So now.. what if I'm flyin' for ya and we get inta battle? You gonna throw me in a gorram escape pod?"

Violet does nothing, says nothing for a good long while. Likely plenty of time for Alexa to down her drink. Did she pass out? No... After a couple of minutes, Violet sits up again, her eyes staring a bit into space. Quietly, far too quietly, she shakes her head. "When the ship is in flames... the reactor is breached... Kicking and screaming... I had to be shoved in by Nobara herself..." Finally, she looks at Alexa, a rather haunted look on her face. "I......I don't know what I'd do then. Would I try to go down with the ship again? Shove you in like Nobara did? Do we both go down with the ship? I don't know if I could get myself into one if I lose another ship... But... But I don't think I'd let you go down with me."

Violet has clearly taken 'get into battle' as a much much worse situation somehow.

Alexa stays quiet for a moment, then pulls Violet to her in a tight hug. "It ain't gonna come to that, darlin'. I'm sorry. I was angry."

Violet leans into the hug, but doesn't really move much other than that. "....I still miss Nobara... She was a good ship," she says sullenly.

Alexa nods a little, just holding her. "I know the feelin', darlin'." she kisses Violet's cheek. "I ain't goin' anywhere, okay?

Violet finally reacts a little more than just leaning, reaching an arm around Alexa's waist. "I'm sorry, I didn't think... I... he.....he asked me what to do an' getting you outta the way of danger was just... the first thing t'come to mind. I dunno why he even asked me. But... I'm sorry. But those things... that... 'Angel,' 's outta even my league. I didn' even scratch th'paint."

Alexa holds her even tighter. "Shhh. I know you wanted to keep me safe. I overreacted. I know you did what you could, beautiful." She sighs softly. "I... I'm just thankful you're alright. Losin' you woulda destroyed me."

Violet laughs once, but there's not a lot of mirth in it. "I was beneath its notice." She shakes her head again before leaning it on Alexa. "I guess that's how I fight. I don't think, I just act, and... Protectin' you was what felt the most important at the start." She straightens up and looks more directly to the other woman, now actually smiling. "Now, if you were in a ship instead of on foot, then I'd notta been so worried!"

Alexa grins at that. "Just remember, soon, we'll be on a ship together, and you can keep an eye on me." she chuckles.

Violet winks back. "Oh, I'm a keep an eye on ya, alright!" She laughs and now actually snuggles in against Alexa. "Shorry... I didn' think but... Hon'stly... I'd prolly do it again. But onna bridge... s'not th'same as it was out there. Yer in yer... el-e-ment there. Yer better'n me on tha helm by a long shot, tha's where you pr'tect me, not th'other way 'round." Well, she's definitely not sobered up yet.

Alexa smiles a little bit. "An' I plan on protectin' you for the rest of my life. Every way I can." She nuzzles her cheek against Violet's. " You're my world, darlin'. Don't you forget that.

Violet smiles happily and nuzzles back, though it feels a bit sloppy. Let it never be said that Violet can hold her liquer well. "We're like... like twin planets, goin' rounda sun, always spinnin' 'round each other, locked in dance!" She's at least trying to be poetic, even if that would be closer to describing siblings. "You wanna go hit th'floor?" She motions with a hand towards the place's dance floor.

Alexa winces a bit. "I um.. I kinda can't dance, darlin'. At all. I'm terrible.

Violet laughs and tries to pull Alexa towards the dance floor. She's... definitely not putting a whole lot of effort into it, though, and any resistance will end with a result of her not moving Alexa an inch. "Noooooo, c'mon, no one's tha' bad!"

Alexa chuckles a little nervously, but wants her happy. "Well, I am, but alright." she lets herself get lead out to the floor, knowing this may not end well.

Violet drags Alexa out onto the dance floor and proceeds to dance in a rather clumsy manner. Is she normally a good dancer? It's really impossible to tell, but when she's sloshed, it's clear she's absolutely no better than Alexa has claimed to be. In the end, she winds up just leaning against Alexa as if it were a slow song, though the song is clearly not intended for that kind of dancing. It's not an 'in the moment' kind of thing like the two have had in the past, no... It seems more like Violet is having a little trouble standing up completely on her own after she had thrown her sense of balance completely off with the wild motions from earlier.

Alexa winces, putting her arms around Violet more for support than affection. "Darlin'.. maybe we should get ya home and layin' down.

Violet says, "Mmmm... Mmmmaybe, yeah... I have had... a lotta drinks tonight..." She holds up three fingers, but unsure of herself, she breifly holds up four, then back to three. And this is a woman that tends to get almost fully drunk after just one. "My head is gunna huuuuuuuuuuuuuuurt tomarrow morning!" She laughs at this, for some reason."

Alexa chuckles a little. "I'll make sure you got some aspirin waitin' for when ya wake up, darlin'." She kisses Violet's cheek. "I do not envy the hangover you're headin' for.

Violet leans a bit harder onto Alexa, now perhaps there's some affection into it, as she plants a kiss onto Alexa's cheek as well. "I hadda bad night, went inta today. Like I said the... first? second day I met ya? I don't usa'lly drink 'f I'm wantin' to remember. Hangovers can be worth it if I can f'rget for a night." She nuzzles into Alexa again, clearly not caring about anyone watching, for once. "I dun wanna forget tonight anymore. So s'not good. Less go home."

Alexa nods a little. "Well, I don't know if we can get to my place yet, but we can try" She continues to hold Violet, the embrace turning more affectionate than functional.

Violet says, "S'always the warehouse. S'closer, anyway, yeah? Jusss zooooom on down south." She then frowns. "Don' want th'kids seein' me like this, though."

Alexa nods. "May be better, and if the kids see ya, we can just say you're sick or somethin'.

Violet says, "Eeeehhhhhh, not too far offf." She shrugs as she starts trying to walk to the two towards the door. "I prolly will be."

Alexa laughs a little. "Thanks for the warnin'. Don't worry, I'll hold your hair back." she grins, putting Violet's arm over her shoulder as they walk.

Living Area of the Warehouse Loft

Violet stumbles into the living area, looking a little worse for the wear. It was a mildly eventful walk home, but not in a good way. "I'm... gonna need a shower before I go to bed, I think." The good news is she's starting to sober up a little. The bad news is, Alexa indeed did have to hold her hair back a couple of times.

Alexa helps her over to the couch if she wants to sit, and grins. "Probably a good idea. And to do some laundry, too."

Violet shakes her head. "Imma... I'mma hang it outside the loft..." She starts to take off her shirt before she remembers this isn't Alexa's apartment. Luckily she didn't get very far into the process. "I don't trust myself yet t'do it right t'night." She does sit down for the moment, though... And with her eyes closed, she just might have dozed off already.

Alexa sits down next to her, pulling her into an embrace. "I'm always gonna be here to help, darlin', because I love you.

Judging from the lack of a jump to the embrace, it seems Violet indeed didn't doze off just yet. "I dun know how you put up with me sometimes. I c'n be such a pain." She does take care not to embrace Alexa back, though... not with the state her shirt is currently in. She sighs, though, leaning her head against Alexa as much as she can for a moment before lifting it back up. "Lemme take that shower... then I c'n meet you in bed." There's no flirty tone to that, however... It seems Violet is really just ready to go to sleep.
