'Bustling with activity' might not be the best way of describing things here. After all, it seems so far only one person has been really working on this so far. But there in the middle of the bay stands, in all its beat up glory, the YT-2400. It's definitely seen better days. The front of the saucer section has a massive gash in the front, leaving the cargo bay well open to the elements, the bottom turret looks nearly totaled, the escape pod at the back of the cockpit is completely gone, and let's not even get started about all the dents and scratches all over the thing. Still, if one had seen it when it came in, progress has been made. It's standing on its own now, its landing gear now extended, and the main entry ramp is down and open and has a number of cables going into it. Finally, in front of it, lying on the floor, is a massive plate of durasteel that's twisted and bent, and looks like it had to be extracted from that gash in the cargo hold. As for the woman that's done all the work so far?

She's currently sitting on the back of the cockpit section, in the hole that the escape pod should be in, eating her lunch. She has a sandwich in hand, a thermos of some sort of drink on the deck next to her, and a pair of wireless headphones in her ears that are apparently playing music that she's swaying slightly to as she eats. The music is apparently pretty peppy.

And from outside the ships comes a pair of voices. "Well, Falcon..there it is." says one Jack Karrde as he looks the ship with a critical eye. And Falcon, she's staring at the ship with a dazed look on her face. Yes, she knows this ship all right, but to see it again is almost impossible.

"No..it can't be." she says softly as she goes to touch the hull with a reverent look in her eyes. "It can't be you can it?"

Zelan pauses mid-bounce and tilts her head. Flickering her eyes for split second, she accesses some of the monitoring cameras she's magnetically clamped about the ship. Spotting the new arrivals, she stands up and makes a circular motion with her sandwich holding hand while grabbing the thermos next to her. At the edge of the deck, a disk of pale light forms, which she steps on before making a lowering motion with her sandwich holding hand, letting her down to the ground. Once there, she lowers her headphones, once again with the sandwich holding hand, which has enough spare manipulation to handle the task, unlike her completely occupied thermos holding hand. "Hello?" she calls out as she approaches the two. "Are you the experts Miss Karrde said she was going to get?"

Looking at Falcon and her odd state Jack turns to look at Zelan, "Yes...Jack Karrde, Violet's father. And yeah...we're very familiar with the tech that ship is from." and he nods at the Millennium Falcon, which is parked nearby.

Zelan blinks at the Falcon, wondering how the hell she missed THAT arriving. "I, uh, yes! All right then." She spins on her toes to turn back towards the 2400 and starts listing off various things while pointing at the general areas of the ship as she does so. "I've put low power going through most systems, testing wiring and whatnot, highlighting blown fuses, melted wiring, and the like, but it allowed me to get some of the more basic functions operating already... You know, like landing gear and the main entry. I'm not familiar with some of the systems here, though, and I didn't want to, say, crack open the reactor without knowing what I'm going to come across inside it. There's apparently a fair amount of lead in it, so I can't really see past that shielding. And then there's that other thing, which I'm beginning to suspect is the FTL drive only on account of I can't figure out what else it could be. It's clearly got a transponder on it, but it's way too intricate for that to be its primary purpose. I'm also afraid to boot up its computer systems, on account of, again, not knowing the details of it and being worried some of the damage might wipe it out if I boot it up as it is."

And Falcon decides to speak this time, "It's called the Outrider, formerly belonging to one Dash Rendar. You'll find there's a lot of oddities with this ship as it was used for smuggling, so there's a lot of changes to the engines, shields, and weapons. It was built for speed and fast getaways. The Transponder is wired to give different info due to false IDs." and she forms a holo of a base 2400, "The YT-2400 is my sister class, my own class being the 1300. Due to the success of the 1300 and the failings of the 1400 and 1500 they put their all into making a ship as modular and easy to modify as the YT-1300." she explains as she looks at the holo screen and she directs some probes into the 2400 and hmms, "...There's problems with the sublight engines all right. Nothing major, the coolant lines are about shot." and she hmms, "Micro fissures throughout the hull. I can assume the gash is from a massive piece of debris from a exploding space station called a Skyhook." and she sighs a bit as she looks at the Outrider, "I never thought I'd see you again and like this." she says softly.

Blinking a bit Jack looks at Falcon and shakes his head slowly and looks back at Zelan, ".....Falcon's from that universe and well..I had to rebuild her ship body so yeah." he looks at the Outrider, "We know the tech."

Zelan tilts her head slightly. "Outrider? Interesting. That was the primarily referenced ship I saw when doing my basic research online." She looks back up to the ship again and smirks lightly. "Interesting that she's the most well known example of her type that Violet found, then, isn't it? OH!" She blinks and looks back to Jack and Falcon. "I'm sorry. I'm Zelan Darkflower, former head of Design Team Petal of Magus Spaceworks. Nice to meet you." After giving her standard self-introduction, she immediately is back on subject of the ship. "Ooooh, so a smuggler ship, hrm? I'm going to guess those weird sensor voids under the deck are smuggling compartments, then. Well, they just dropped in investigative priority..." she then frowns. "Or not. Can you help me find the way to open them? I need to make sure there's not something dangerous there that I'm not aware of. But yes." She nods at the massive, twisted plate. "That's entirely consistent with space station construction." Looking back at Falcon again(the AI, not the ship), she frowns slightly. "Did you know her?" she asks a bit more softly. "None of the data I found suggested anything about a complex AI aboard her, though."

And Falcon grins, "I, the sentient, came along shortly after I was found here and restored. Some more advanced technology was used in my rebuild and well." she gestures to herself, "You see the the result." and she looks at the Outrider, "Yes, we worked together in a couple missions if my files are correct." she says softly as she goes to pat the hull.

"It's all right Zelan, and again..Jack Karrde." and he nods to Falcon (the AI), "And that's the Millennium Falcon." he hmms, "Yeah..I know how to open them. Falcon's shipbody was also a smuggler ship." he says as he goes to head into the ship and pulling up the scans Falcon took, goes to head to the compartments.

Zelan nods in understanding, now sounding more her prior excited to work on the ship self. "Well then... I see no reason to not get started. Though..." She stuffs the rest of her sandwich into her mouth while setting down the thermos. She digs into a pocket to retrieve her cell phone, which she holds in one hand while making motions with the other and flickering her eyes. An image pops into the air above the phone, an e-mail address. "If you could send me information on the tech in general and design in particular here," she says after swallowing, "I'd be most appreciative." As she knows Falcon is an AI now, she doesn't hold it out for too long, figuring she can retrieve the information easily enough. She puts the phone back into her pocket before picking up the thermos again. "Well, I say we might as well get started... and with those compartments... As I said, I'm a bit worried about what might be in them." She starts walking back to the ship again, taking a long swig from the thermos as she does so. When she arrives at the top of the ramp, assuming Jack has followed her up, she sets the thermos down again and starts casting a more complex spell, this time requiring both her hands. At the end of it, she taps her own shoulder before reaching over to tap Jack as well. "Some radiation shielding. Just in case."

Karrde nods as he looks at the ship. "Thanks..and yes, one thing about Star Wars tech..it's built to last and a lot of it is modular. The weapons..were turbolasers. Rated for a capital ship." and as he gets to the hallway he kneels down and goes to work on undoing the hidden lock. "And the hyperdrive was also military rank." he explains as he hmms.

Meanwhile Falcon has manifested several holo interfaces that take the form of a ring that surrounds her body and circles it. Yes, she's compiling info for Zelan and also scanning the ship. "Man..you're a mess old girl."

As the seal is popped, the compartment opens to reveal a fair amount of explosives, to which Zelan whistles. "...This Dash Rendar guy must have been planning an assault with this kind of equipment. But Turbolasers? Really? Like I said, I'd read up a bit on the tech, or at least the fiction of it... I wasn't under the impression that they could be mounted on a turret a ship this size could handle. Well, color me impressed... and disappointed the bottom one was so destroyed to the point of being useful primarily as scrap." She frowns at that, then turns to look at Falcon again. "From what I gathered, she took most of the fatal damage when that space station chunk hit her, but the damage to the bottom looked like it might have happened when she came down in the Badlands. There was a lot of actual dirt in the damage on the bottom. Apparently she was also dropped from a crane by some scavengers out there, but I couldn't see anything where that damage would have been done." She glances at Falcon for a moment. "Is there a frequency I might be able to peek in on your scans?"

And Falcon nods, "Yes.." and she hmms as she looks at Zelan's scanner and like that it lights up, "Link made..but be warned..these sensors are very detailed. So you scanner might need a moment to catch up." and she hmms, "...We can remove the turbolasers and replace them with something else. Disruptors perhaps. I have quad pulse phaser turrets on my ship body." she hmms, "The Concussion Missile launcher is gone, so need to replace that." she says softly as she adds that to the list.

Jack nods, "Or they were for sale. Right.." and he goes over to the other one and goes to open it up as well. "The timeline he was from there was a Rebellion against the Empire and those may have been slated for the Rebel Alliance."

Zelan shrugs at Jack, then flickers her eyes as she sets her glasses to be looking at the scanners coming in. Continuing to flicker her eyes, she sets it so they're only attempting to process the data at a reduced resolution to begin with. Her eyesight is good, but there's still a maximum resolution any visual sensor can handle, even eyes, and at these tech levels, the eye can be the limiting factor. "It's a moot point now, I guess. I saw no evidence of him still being on board, though... And, well, of course the obvious evidence of how he got out. Ah, I see now. Clever." Who knows what exactly she's looking at right now, though, as in the relatively dim lighting images seem to continuously flash on her glasses. "Oh, yes, the missile launcher. There were... parts of it left. The collision took out the magazine, though, but it was compartmentalized well enough to direct the blast from that outward. The remains are over in a mech bay, but there's not much to salvage there, I'm afraid."

Falcon hmms and looks at the mechbay, and sends a probe to check over the remains. "Yes, a lost cause." she says softly as she hmms, "We can replace it with a Micro Photon Torp launcher." she says as she sends a order to the Athena to get the fabbers to work on one. Also two pairs of Disruptor cannons for the Outrider. "Hmm..I can use some nanites to fix the micro fissures..but I do recommend putting some better hull plating on this ship." she says softly.

And Jack hmms as he opens the compartment, "Ah..fake IDs." and he nods, "Makes sense." he says as he goes to gather up the contents of both and goes to haul them out. "...Falcon's right..the Outrider was in worse shape than she was when I found her. We might be looking at a full rebuild." he says with a sigh. "Might have to call some people in from the Athena." and he looks at Zelan, "My command ship."

Zelan pauses and looks at Jack with a raised eyebrow. "While yes, I noticed the microfractures, I was going to be fully capable of having this bird in space in... three months, I would say, by my calculations? Granted, that was a gross estimation based on an assumption that the reactor and computer systems being similar to ones I'm used to working with... But I was expecting her in the air and not combat ready within a month. The interior structure, with the exception of the front end, seemed okay from my scans, so it should hold up well. Adding additional armor plating... I wasn't under the impression that Violet was intending to use the ship in combat, to be honest, but I agree it should have its weaponry re-established for defensive purposes. A galaxy can be a pretty dangerous place, after all." She straightens her glasses slightly, then moves on towards the back, where engineering is. "Wiring can be fixed with some simple crawler bots, I can put those together myself if I had someone to get the intricate circuitry for me." She glances over her shoulder at Jack again with a slight grin. "Everyone has their limitations, mine's circuitry."

Karrde looks at Zelan and hmms, "...I can call in a team from the Athena. They know the tech pretty well as they're trained to handle well...just about anything." he says as he looks at the woman and he hmms. "And Falcon and I have some repair bots we can give you. Along with, as I said, a team from the Athena." he says as he pulls out his comlink (think a old style Star Trek communicator) stepping off he goes to speak into it. Okay, seems he's high rank..

Falcon grins as she puts in the order for a couple repair bots. "With a full team and us..I'd say a month at the latest. We're very good at this stuff."

Zelan frowns slightly and nods. Perhaps she was looking forward to working on this herself? Still, it's not her ship. "All right, I'll clear that with the owners, but I doubt they'll have any objections." After a moment, she finally shrugs. "Well, I suppose in the end, I can get back to my other work, then? Oh, one other thing... The owner of the building is likely to want to work on this as well, but she's... quite pregnant with twins. I've been doing my best to keep her off the ship, but I've spotted some work I didn't do here and there, so... yeah. Once you're certain everything's safe and that, say, the reactor or FTL isn't going to leak, perhaps you can find some lighter duty things for her to help out with?"

Zelan then blinks, and puts a hand to her forhead. "Oh... that would be your ex, wouldn't it. I suppose I should just say 'Raven' then." She doesn't know the details of everything, she's just basing that on 'it's Violet's father, Raven is Violet's step-mother, therefor Jack and Raven must be exes.
