Sylvie grins a bit widely. "Plus, soft pretzels. Who can resist those, with a bit of sharp mustard?" Sylvie stuffs her hands into her pockets, looking about as carefree as can be. "I wonder if there's a music store? We should be around the time for a 50th anniversary edition of Sgt. Pepper's, I'd like to check on the release date." Pidge is wearing (male) fatigues in a close approximation of her size - something the replicators would have had on file as NTSDF issue, albeit lacking in identifying insignia. Sure, she's going to be NTSDF personnel here, most likely, but she doesn't want to go sporting the emblems before Mitsuo or Violet or somebody in command has gone through the necessary protocols. "I'm not worried about brand names," she answers Mitsuo with a wry grin. "I doubt I'd be ready to afford them today anyway ..." She heads over to one of the mall directories, working out where she needs to go and what's the best order to work her way around the mall in. "Yeah, this looks like the music store," she answers Sylvie, tapping one particular entry on the list of stores. Mitsuo shakes her head, "Don't worry about it. You just got it, it's covered. I pay for it then get reimbursed. We actually have laws about people that pop in like you, or Sylvie for that matter. " Not that she ever bothers with the reimbursement part, she's got plenty of money for anything needed. Sylvie nods. "I imagine the laws in place are just as much to avoid social chaos as they are about taking care of people," she says lightly, using a jovial tone to soften her less than optimistic opinion. "No worries, Pidge. We've got you." Pidge nods to Sylvie and Mitsuo, "Which is why I've got a credit card instead of a wallet full of cash, right?" She grins wryly. "Anyway, yeah, I should be set. Just have to -" She glances at the directory again, and her voice chokes off briefly. "Oh, right, video games .... yyyyyyyyeah, need to *avoid* that store until I've got the important stuff ..." She sounds terribly wistful now, thinking about that game system she and Lance found at the space mall. Which wasn't remotely compatible with the Castle's hardware ... she never got around to rigging up some kind of compatible adapters, she probably could have. Some random guy wearing a Voltron T-shirt(80s version, clearly, from the mecha design) just happens to walk by carrying a bag from said gaming store. "Hey Pidge," he says casually as he continues walking past. And then... he stops. "Did I just say 'hey Pidge?'" he says with a slightly confused tone before sloooowly turning to look back at her... wait, this isn't just some random guy. He's quit large and, for some reason, appears to be wearing an orange headband. Mitsuo chuckles, "Since if you guys are here for long we'll probably make you a special unit in the NTSDF you should know that it's actually in the regs that we're supposed to play video games, so we have a library of games. Like, all of them. " she blinks as the guy walks by... her head turns to look at him, "Was that... " she mutters Sylvie winces. Thinks about it. And reaches into an inner pocket of her flight jacket to pull out a Playstation Vita that's entirely taken up with older games... mostly the run of FF from 1-10. "Use this as a stopgap?" she offers to Pidge, then, blinks, eyes tracking the rather large guy in orange. "Yes, Mitsuo, I think it is." Then, she grins mischievously, unable to resist, and lets her eyes sweep up and down the man in orange's figure. "A Hunk of a man." If Pidge's ears weren't small, round, and human, they would literally have perked up higher at the casual greeting - and they do a pretty good impression of it anyway. "Hunk?!" the brunette wonders, turning to look up at the speaker ... and then letting out a HUGE sigh of relief, with an equally relieved grin. "So you *are* here! That just leaves our Keith and Lance - Shiro's here too, I saw him when I arrived .... got displaced in, whatever." She's tempted to hug the big guy, but she just rocks on her heels a bit, still grinning like an idiot as she looks up at him. "How long've you been in NeoTokyo? Your Li-- uh, your robo-kitty's around too, right?" Given that flying her lion down was advised against, Pidge is trying to be a little cautious about casual mention of giant robot lions ... Pidge might be tempted, but Hunk actually does it. The result, of course, is that Pidge's feet are no longer in contact with the ground as he lifts her bodily up in the hug! "Pidge! Oh, man! An actual honest to god familiar face! That isn't on a cartoon." He then sets her down before adding, "...Because that's a thing here. The, uh, cartoons. Of us. And other usses. It's really, really weird." And judging from the T-shirt he's wearing, he's already familiar with the fact that there's more than one Voltron. "Yellow? Oh, yeah, I've got him hidden off to the north somewhere... It's kinda dangerous out there, but, you know, best not to really draw that kind of attention, you know?" Mitsuo chuckles, "Looks like he's been here a little while, which means I get to have someone yell at a bunch of sensor guys who somehow missed a big Yellow Robot Lion " she says, though from her tone at least Sylvie would doubt she'll actually do anything about it. " And if you like you can move Yellow up to orbit on my ship with Pidge's Green. Sylvie rolls her eyes good naturedly. "Always lions. It's like people forget that other animals even exist. Where's my giant robot hyena, damnit?" She puts her vita back away for now, Pidge is far too YAY MY PERSON IS HERE to make a decision either way. Mitsuo smirks at Sylvie, "There aren't too many stories about heroic Hyenas, I think they are mostly portrayed as bad guy types. "Ooof!" is Pidge's initial reply to getting picked up and hugged. She probably should have remembered *that* was a possibility. Hunk sets her back down quickly enough that she doesn't have time (or reason) to complain about the bear-hug, and she resumes grinning. "Yeah, I already got the Neo Cliff's Notes about our world being fiction here, and I've actually met an alternative version of Keith ..." She trails off, scrutinizing Hunk's T-shirt. "... yeah, that looks like his Lion in the center, best I can tell without seeing it. I still can't wrap my head around him being the team leader instead of Shiro - oh, Shiro is here, but I don't think he's got Black Lion yet." She glances at Mitsuo, "Unless I missed something ... and wasn't there that other series - actually, *several* series where the animals who combined into the giant robots were several different species? Not sure about heroic hyenas, but you never know." Hunk looks at Sylvie and raises an eyebrow slightly. "I'm pretty sure you could find someone in this city to build you one. I mean, it could be ridiculously expensive, but I'm sure someone could manage." He then laughs and nods to Mitsuo. "Yeah! Yeah, I've been here a few months, working at the spaceport as a contractor engineer." He looks between Mitsuo and Pidge before adding, "Wait, you've got a ship up there with Green already? Buuut not the Castle. And other-Keith is here? That's awesome! Oh. But awkward. Man, this really could get awkward, now that I think about it." He worried look over the awkwardness turns a bit more to a straight frown. "He doesn't have the lion yet? Wait, waitwaitwait." He raises a hand to his chin. "So if I understand that right, not only are we getting a Keith from a different universe, but we have a Shiro from a different time? Wait, are we from the same time, then, or are we from different..." He shakes his head, then seems to recognize what Pidge is talking about. "You mean the Super-Sentai stuff?" Pidge laughs faintly, "Easy way to test when you're from relative to me. Had we beat Zarkon yet before you wound up here?" Hunk outright grins. "Heck yeah! We formed a blazing sword and kicked his robeastly butt!" He then frowns again. "But this Shiro is from before, so this isn't where he went, is it?" Sylvie stretches her arms high over her head, arching her back slightly, just getting the kinks out. She'd comment more about robo-hyena, really, but these two seem to be talking about something important, so she'll go wander and check the release date at the music store to give them the illusion of privacy. Mitsuo shakes her head, "No, and we have a Castle of Lions with Black still in stasis, but we also have a Blue and Black from one of the other dimensions, along with Keith and Allura from there, though Allura is badly hurt." she grins a bit at Hunk, "To get more confusing we also have and Allura you'll be familiar with though she wont know you yet. Mitsuo smirks, "And I'm betting the mice will know you just fine. Pidge looks even more relieved, "So that's two of us from the same point in time ... that's great. - Wait, so the our-version Allura who's around is from roughly when Shiro is?" she asks Mitsuo. And there goes Sylvie; Pidge winces a little, but if Sylvie happens to glance back towards them, Pidge will at least wave to her - sort of a 'catch up with you later' gesture. Sylvie isn't that far off, really. She's just checking the 'new record release date' list on the display window, before giving a disappointed sigh. late next month. So long for really good music! Oh well, that's all she really wanted to come to the mall for, anyway. Sylvie hides a flinch as a large group of gossiping teenagers wanders too near, and she's quick to return to Mitsuo's side. Mitsuo nods at Pidge, "Yes, I think they are from the same dimension. He's from just before he first got to Earth when he met all of you. Myself and some other people who were there when we found the Castle of Lions caused Allura to get woken up. Hunk taps his chin again. "So we'd need to find Red and Blue again to unlock Black for Shiro. Maaaaan, they could be anywhere... or not. They could not be anywhere. Because again..." He motions his arms out to his sides. "...This place," he says, suggesting the entire dimension. "Unless it recognizes the other Blue as the Blue we're used to? Or, wait, Shiro's in black, does that make him 'Sven'? Can he pilot Blue now since it's the other one? Man, I've got sooo many questions now..." Sylvie shrugs. "Only way to find out would be to bring pilot to ship, wouldn't you say?" Pidge says, "Actually, I looked that up while I couldn't sleep last night ... it looks like 'classic' Voltron was actually a modified version of another show, Hundred Beast King GoLion, and get this - Sven's counterpart in that version actually was named Shirogane. On the downside, GoLion's Shirogane died early in the series, so I'm hoping our Shiro keeps avoiding that fate." Mitsuo grins, "And he Piloted the other Blue once already." Hunk frowns slightly. "Yeah... I hope we actually find him in season three instead of... well, what happened there." He then shakes his head and points toward the door of the mall. "But yeah! If you've got another place Yellow can live, I should go get him to put there!" Mitsuo grins, "Well, he can stay there for now, but 4 lions are going to fill my flight deck." | |
