NOW It's a Date | ||

As it so happens, Summer is able to manage to find the place without completely making a fool of herself. It's a wonder how helpful police will be in finding an address around this city. She waves as she spots her date. "Hope I didn't keep you waiting too long!" she calls. Robin manages to miss Summer's approach entirely, right up until she announces her presence. "Ah, uh, hi!" he says with a bit of a start. He looks her over breifly before he offers a decidedly nervous looking smile to her. "So, uh, how does it feel going out and about in civilian clothes again finally? You look good!" . o O ( I think I might have overdressed some... ) Summer blushes at the compliment. "Thanks. I didn't know if we were going for formal or not, so I went for something casual since this is a movie, not a ball or something. I...hope I'm not underdressed for it." she says, looking herself over worriedly. "It does feel good to be in civilian clothes again. I just hope this is appropriate for a date." Robin waves a hand dismissively. "Well, neither did I. I just, uh... went the other way." >.> He looks around at the other people here, only now realizing that he's not sighting anyone else with slacks and a button up shirt, and sighs slightly. "Ah, well..." He looks back to Summer and manages to summon a smirk to his face before he bows to her in a slightly overdramatic manner. "Would you do me the favor of accompanying me to a movie tonight?" He stands up straight again as he offers her his hand, the somehow nervous looking smirk still on his face. "I figured out a place to go when we're done with that, too." Summer takes the offered hand with a chuckle and a nod, blushing a bit. "It would be my great pleasure, kind sir." she says with a giggle. "I can't wait to see what else you have in mind." Robin pulls Summer along to the ticket office while blushing a bit as well. "Ehhh... It's just.. a place, really. It's a nice place, but it's still just a setting." He leads them on up to the line, but doesn't quite enter it yet. "...So... I'd forgotten that there's lots of things showing at once? I guess I assumed it was like a theater back home where they just run one play at a time, so I have... no idea what to see," he admits. "Well that makes two of us. I've only vaguely heard of the concept myself, never actually been to one. Uhm...maybe something with a good bit of action to it?" Summer suggests. Robin nods as he looks up at the movie posters with a hum. "Well, I've not... paid any attention to movies yet... at all. I know what they are and that's about it... But... well, what, a quarter look like they might have a lot of action? It's kinda hard to tell, actually." He grimaces at his error of not looking into what movies are playing ahead of time. Summer looks over the posters. She's a bit unsure how to react to the entire thing. She's a bit out of her element here. "I Uhm....what's uh....what's Super Mario Bros.?" She asks, noting a poster claiming they're showing an old retro film by the name. Robin looks at the poster with a look of utter incomprehension. "...I... have no clue? It... just looks like it's about two guys with odd boots..." He looks back to Summer with a lost look. "I feel like it expects me to know who those two are." After a pause, he shrugs and heads for the ticket office to get a pair of tickets! "Well, seeing as we don't, we won't have any preconceived notions about it!" Summer says cheerfully. After all, if it's no game, it must be a good film, right? Robin, at the counter, holds up two fingers as he gets to the front of the line. "Uhhh... two of us for the Super Mario Brothers movie?" He pays for the tickets, looks at them briefly, and hands one to Summer. "All right, it starts in half an hour, so... let's head in?" Summer nods, taking the ticket and her tails flick eagerly. "So, what do we do while we wait for the film to start?" she asks. Robin opens the door for Summer as he laughs. "Oh, you're asking me? I don't know, I guess just sit and talk? I'm completely new to the whole... dating thing, so... I'm kinda clueless, honestly." "....So it's not just me who's completely clueless on the whole dating thing, huh? That's actually more of a relief than you might think." she says. "That...does remind me of something I wanted to ask. ....It's gonna sound weird though." Robin thanks the Usher as he tells the pair which theater to go to. "Heh... well, honestly I'd figured by now you would have been on some dates, even if not in a place as 'technologically ascended' as this place... But ask away? I'm guessing any date related questions would sound weird to me..." "Well, that's kinda why it's gonna sound weird. See, aside from certain...circumstances, which kinda put people off of me at first, once they did start getting used to me, and I started opening up more...well, a girl with natural claws, fangs, and having trained her tails to become fully combat capable and all, it kinda makes people wary of getting close. Add in my height and well, I think I intimidated a lot of people. There were some people who were afraid to even touch me because of my skills and all." she shakes her head bemusedly. "But...I wanted to ask you not to be. If you want to touch me, do it. if you want to hold me, I want you to. If you wanted to..." here she blushes a bit. "Say slam me against a wall and kiss me till my tails tied themselves into a knot and I'm purring my voice out...I'm not going to object unless I have a legitimate reason to. I may be a knight, but that doesn't mean I don't like physical or intimate contact." And yes. She DID say she purrs. Robin does flick his eyes away for an instant before returning them to Summer when she mentions her height... apparently that actually is something he's a bit conscious of, the fact that she's taller than him by a good three to four inches. If it bothered him that much, however, he'd probably not be here right now, however, looking quite so nervous. His blush returns as she brings up touching and holding her... but then goes outright red as she goes further. "I, er, um, uh... O-o-okay," he manages to get out. 'Media', as it were, didn't go into the detail of 'courtship' in his world as much it does here, so that level of passion she described was a bit much to him. Add in how shy he is and it sounds like he might not go that far tonight... but who knows where the night will go when it's still this young? For now, though, he's a nervous teenager who is confident only on the battlefield, now out on his first date. If anything, he's almost more nervous now while he pictures that very scenario in his mind now... but his nervousness combined with the fact that he's never seen anyone do that in public makes him definitely not do that right here and now. Summer chuckles. "I'm not saying you have to do anything tonight or ever that you don't want to." She tries to reassure her date. "Just that if things go well and we decide we want to keep going out or anything well....just putting it out there that I'm a very open person when it comes to that." "That and that if you DO want to, unless I say otherwise, consider permission given ahead of time." she adds with a playful wink. Robin nods a few times, not trusting his mouth to come up with proper words for a few more seononds. "Um, yeah, well, um... I guess... yeah, that's... Mutual. Unless I tell you to stop, like I'm sure you would tell me to stop if you didn't, and..." he stops talking as he realizes he's about to start just babbling, and just nods again. Summer giggles lightly as she notices her date seem to be on the verge of rambling but managing to catch himself. Then she looks around. "Huh. Concessions? I suppose it makes sense. Just like what you might see at a theater for opera or plays. We have awhile. Should we go see what they have?" She did bring her own money after all. She isn't going to impose any further on Robin than she has unless he insists. He already paid for the film. The least she could do is pay for the snacks. Robin blinks and looks at the stand. Not something he was planning on! "Uh, the one I went to didn't have anything like this, actually. But.... yeah, let's take a loooooeeeeee..." He grimaces as he gets an eyeful of the prices he's seeing. The tickets didn't cost this much! "...I swear I saw most of the same stuff at where Marion works for a fifth of the price..." "Good thing I got my money changed over then. I can cover it." she says with an amused look. Then peers. "Popcorn? Huh. Never heard of that before." Robin looks slightly guilty about her offering to pay for the food, but in the end nods. It sounds like she has more liquid assets than he does right now... "Oh, it's like... a kind of corn that's really hard, but when you cook it, it pops and gets puffy and soft! But you still have the hard bits on the inside... it gets stuck in your teeth." He looks around at the others who ahve bought concessions. "....But it looks like it's really popular here." Summer lightly thumps Robin with one tail in a chiding manner. "Don't go looking guilty over me paying. You paid for the tickets, which is more than I would have asked had I known you planned to pay for both of us. You told me before that your pay doesn't exactly leave you with an overflowing wallet." she nods when she sees that popcorn is indeed apparently a popular choice, along with various other snacks and the like. "Well, let's get some and see if the fuss is truly worth it. Robin nods a few times. "Yes! Let's. And then get into the theater to see what this whole... movie thing is about." Before long they're through the line, and Robin lets Summer do the ordering, since she's the one paying. Once again, he looks around slightly nervously as he realizes he's still the only one not in completely casual clothing here. Summer decides to go with the jumbo size popcorn. Mostly because she knows she can pack away whatever she and Robin don't polish off together. "You want anything to drink, Robin?" she asks, as she considers the beverages on hand. Robin shakes his head. "This is supposed to be a couple of hours, right? I'm... not so sure that's a good idea." He glances away towards the bathrooms for a breif second. Nodding, Summer considers a drink herself and decides against it for similar reasons. The popcorn comes to them, salted and buttered and looking hyooge. When they say jumbo, they mean Jumbo. The five foot eleven Okamitsune grins, licking her lips. Whatever they don't eat here at the theater is probably gonna be her dinner, Robin's eyes widen slightly at the size of the popcorn. "That... is a lot of popcorn," he says while looking down at it, then looks back up at Summer's face with a nervous smile. "Well, I think we're all set, then, let's go find our seats!" With that said, he looks like he's about to try to take a hand... but no, she doesn't have a free one at the moment. So after a brief pause, he reaches to her back instead to help guide her along. Summer grins, completely at her ease and has no issue about him helping her along, giving her date an appreciative nod as they make their way in. Once they get to their seat, she sets down the bucket in the very LARGE holster in the chair. Looks like they actually make them to hold popcorn buckets that big. "Thanks." she says with a wink. "See, nothing to it." she adds, bringing that same hand that he'd had at her back to plant a light kiss to his knuckles. "No need to be shy with me." Robin, in the dark relative darkness, can't really be seen to blush at that kiss, but knowing him, it's an easy guess that's it's happening. "Uhh, y-yeah, I know, but... um, well... Look, I've got to still get... used to the idea of all this still. It's all kinda sudden to me, you know?" He pushes himself back a bit into the cushioned seat, looking upward for a moment, then over to the screen which is showing ads still. "Soo, uh, um... have you... found a place to stay yet?" Summer's night vision is still a thing, and she finds the blush cute. Then shakes her head. "Not just yet." she says. "I might look into that building you said you live at." Robin frowns at that. "So where are you keeping all those... other sets of clothing you bought? And your armor, for that matter..." He does smile a bit weakly. "Well, it'd be nice to, uh, have you close by! But if you can afford a better place, that'd probably be, uh, better." "The clothes? I got a locker at the shelter for the newcomers." Then taps at a small device on the back of her neck and shoulders, hidden by the back of her shirt and her hair. "My armor is right here." Robin nods. "Oh... Well, that makes sense, I guess," he says to the locker, but when her armor is mentioned, he squints slightly to try to see it before cautiously reaching up to touch where it is. "Oh... So in a way kinda like mine. Well, we're both ready no matter where we go, right?" He offers a nervous smile at that again before sitting back again. Soon, the lights dim even further as the previews start coming on... and apparently for this retro movie night, they're showing previews for movies that would have come out just after this one did. But Robin, instead of watching the trailers, keeps looking over at Summer instead, a part of him still disbelieving that she's here on a date with him. "Helps to be prepared." Summer says with a smirk. She settles in to watch the previews. At first she's not quite sure of the point, but it's still pretty fun. Her tails are pretty much all in her lap to prevent basically getting squished. Well, six of them are. One of them she draps over Robin's lap, if he lets her. Robin does jump ever so slightly when the tail is draped over his lap, but after a moment, he places an arm atop it, welcoming its presense, while his other arm rests atop the armrest between them. "Yeah... but some situations... I just never feel really prepared for." As the movie starts and the lights get even lower, he leans over slightly in Summer's direction, but stops short of crossing over the devide between their seats. And then he proceeds to get immediately confused by the cartoon opening. "...Dinosaurs are extinct?" "Maybe in the world the movie was made they are......though I have no idea what a dinosaur really is to begin with." Summer concludes, curious about him leaning her way. But she doesn't make a point to make it an issue. Instead, her tail lightly rubs against the hand and arm laid on it, clearly enjoying the 'company', even as she reaches to the massive holder at the end of the armrest to take some of the popcorn and mumches on it. "Hmm...this is good stuff." she whispers, not wanting to disturb anyone else who might have come in before or after them. Robin says, "Not in mine," as he leans over a little more to whisper to her. "I even got a liscence to hunt them when I was on Juras island... Didn't actually stay long enough to, though." At her proclamaition of how good the popcorn is, however, he's reminded of its existance, and reaches up to eat some, as well. He does soon get drawn into the movie, however, and remains quiet for the most part. Summer's ear closest to Robin perks as he leans over to whisper to her, and nods, before the movie gets into swing. She ends up chuckling a bit at the silliness of the name 'Koopa', but then the movie gets started. She blinks. It's a movie about...people who mend pipes? Doesn't seem very super to her. But when they end up being sucked into the alternate New York, her ears flip up and she looks much more invested. Robin, for his part, looks like he's barely following the action of the movie. Still, as things go on, he does get a bit more and more into it, at least when he's not looking at Summer instead. Summer catches him looking a few times and gives him a smile each time. The film eventuially ends and the lights begin to come back up as 'Almost Unreal' by Roxette begins playing. She stretches. "Hmmm...That was fun. Though I find it interesting that a couple would name their first child after their family name." She says, referencing the fact that 'Mario Brothers' comes from the fact that the family name is Mario, while Mario's given name is itself, Mario. Luigi Mario also seems hilarious for some reason to her. Robin makes a bit of a grimace. "Yeah... there was a lot of moments like that where I felt like... things were supposed to mean something outside of the movie. Like they were referencing something, but... Yeah, I don't know." He shrugs as he stands up, then looks down to Summer to offer her a hand up with a smile. "It looks like there might be another one? I mean... from the end of it, it looked like they were going somewhere with that." Summer shrugs. "Maybe. If there is, we should see it sometime." Granted, it was listed as being made some 23 years ago, but still.... She munches on some popcorn, as aboput half the tub remains. "So what was it you said you had planned for after the movie?" Robin picks a bit of popcorn out, himself, but he doesn't look like he's going to be finishing it, particularly. "Hrrm? Oh! Yeah, our second stop for the evening." That almost sounded scripted, the way he said it. "Well, it's a bit of a ways to the north... and I... think it will be better at night." Quirking an amused brow, Summer chuckles. "By all means then, lead the way." she says with a smirk. Since her arms are full of that jumbo popcorn tub, if Robin tries to offer an arm again, he'll have to settle for one of her long, sinuous tails linking through it. Her hands are full? No, he doesn't go for the tail, he instead puts the arm around the back of her waist to lead her onward. "Will do! I just hope the place isn't too crowded." Summer grins, glad to see Robin is taking her words to heart from earlier about not being worried about touching her; perfectly content to go where he guides her. Tokyo Tower Robin_C enters, with Summer walking along next to him. As Robin guides her along, he seems a bit nervous, much as he has through most of the evening. By looking up, however, his end goal visably grows nearer as the approach the Tokyo Tower. "How would you like to see the city from the sky? I'm hoping you're not afraid of heights?" Summer's eras go up when she notices they're headed for the tower, which Robin had mentioned to her before. She snorts. "No, I'm not scared of heights. If I were, I wouldn't have gotten very far as a Knight in my reality." Robin laughs and nods. "Yeah, I didn't think you would be!" He looks back down to her (relatively) from the tower and tilts his head. "You spent a lot of time in high places, then? I guess mage towers..." He frowns slightly, then shrugs and keeps moving on into the building at the base. He was a little more prepared for this, however, as he's actualyl got just the right amount of money ready to pay for a pair of tickets up to the top! "Not always. Actually, most mages back home didn't bother with towers so much as fortresses made from the sides of mountain faces." She shrugs. "And a bunch of them were afraid of heights, so they decided to forego towers and mountains altogether." Robin frowns. "Huh. Pretty different from my world. They had a tendancy to build towers. Like... the first orsecond highest building in any given town or city ususally belonged to a wizard of the mage's guild or something." He then shrugs again as his expression lightens. The elevator has arrived, and they're now able to go up! "Well, different realities, different rules, I guess." she says with a shrug. Then the elevator doors open up, and Summer's eyes go wide. "Whoa..." she steps out and looks around. "You weren't kidding about the view. This is gorgeous up here, Robin!" Robin smirks slightly at the response. He figured he'd not be able to find something that could outdo the mecha at the wall, but was hoping this would come somewhere close. "I wanted you to see the city at night. All the lights, all the technology everywhere." Summer smiles as she sets down the jumbo popcorn tub. Then makes a 'come here' gesture with one of her tails towards her date. Robin steps up behind her and places a hand on her shoulder, though he stands to the side. "Welcome to this world, Summer. A place so much better than the ones we came from." "No arguments from me." She grins, and then leans over to plant a kiss on Robin. Not on the cheek either. Say what you want, that girl isn't one to be shy when she likes something. Like so many other things, Robin managed to not see that coming, either. There's that initial jerk of surprise, like he's almost going to pull away, but he catches himself, thankfully, and slides the hand on Summer's shoulder down her back to pull her in closer, instead. This draws a purr from the Okamitsune, who raps her tails around Robin, and doesn't seem intent on letting go of that kiss unless she has to. Not yet, at least. While the kiss seemed to tense him up at first, after a few seconds his shoulders finally relax, as if he's finally realized no, this hasn't all been some elaborate joke, nor has he been screwing something up with every other step. Still, before a minute has passed he does indeed pull away for real, saying, "...Well, um... I'm glad you, uh, liked the view." Summer grins, lightly nipping at Robin's nose. "Liekd the kiss better." she says with a lick of her lips. "But yeah. The view was great." Robin goes a bit red again at that. "I, uh, well... it's good to know I'm not screwing up with either then... Like I said, I'm, uh... new to all this stuff..." He closes his eyes againa s he tries to lock that moment into his memory, then asks, "Since when to wolves purr, eh?" It is worth noting that that hand on Summer's back is still holding her there. "You know my tails? They're cause I have fox blood. Wolves don't purr. Not full ones, anyway. Foxes on the other hand...." she gives a wry smile. She also has no objections to the hand at her back. In fact, given the tails comfortably wrapping around it, she seems quite content to have it there. "And no. You're not screwing anything up. Quite the opposite actually." Robin laughs once, "Honestly, I didn't realize foxes purred, either. I always thought it was just a cat thing." He then smiles, perfectly content with having his arm enveloped by the tails. "That's... that's good." He blushes profusely as he glances away towards the window and the view out there. He planned the trip up the tower and the view, but he never did plan on what might be next... partially because he knew he couldn't be sure of where things would go. Still, as it is, he feels perfectly find just standing there with Summer in his arms. "Most people don't know that about foxes. Rarely comes up." she says with a giggle. "I don't really talk about the fox side of my ancestry. It's so far back that most wouldn't notice it. My tails aren't unheard of, but there aren't as many of us who still manifest them." She shrugs. "I dunno if that makes me more or less exotic. But I hope you don't mind being on a date with a girl who has more 'hands' than you do." she jokes. Robin, with his freed hand, pets the tails that are envoloping his other hand. "I would say more exotic. Which is not a bad thing in my eyes at all. And I think if I minded that, I would have found some excuse to say 'no' yesterday, or at least stammerred around without agreeing to come... and then I wouldn't have gone out and bought some nicer clothes, made this plan to come here, you know, all those things." He then sighs lightly in annoyance. "And I'm going to have to get another set of nicer clothes for the other me, and that's going to cost me three times as much, I'm betting." Summer grins. "Honest. I like that." Then she nods. "I always found that since clothes for girls tend to be made of more 'refined' material than guys they cost more. I could help if you need." Robin smiles and shakes his head. "What, and ruin the surprise of what I'm going to wear on our next date? ...Not that I know myself yet, but still..." Summer's grin widens. "Well, I'd call the fact that you're interested enough to want another date is a pleasant surprise. I wasn't sure how much fun I was on this one. Never really done the whole dating thing before." she did say as much before of course. Robin lowers an eyebrow as he smirks somewhat. "Really? We've been standing here in each other's arms for what... five minutes? Even I figured a second date is coming after this, and I've been nothing but a bundle of nerves ever since you asked me out. I guess we've both got to learn this whole dating thing as we go along then." "Well, I'll admit, I was hoping for a second date. But I was worried I might be coming off a touch strong. Like I said, I used to be kinda a stick in the mud and it took me awhile to learn to open up. Once I did, well, sometimes I think I went too far the other way sometimes. I'm glad I didn't put you off with it." Robin takes a moment to respond as he tries to put his thoughts on that into words. "Uhhh... well... you did come off a bit strong when you, uh... said I shouldn't feel bad about, uh, being in physical contact with you..." He blushes as that mental image comes back to his head, but he's still not nearly bold enough to do that as she described. "But... well... I think you get, uh, my pace as well, so... uh..." A quick smile. "I'm not going to go any faster than you're comfortable with. I just wanted to make sure you knew I was okay with contact." Summer says with a chuckle and another quick kiss. "Let me know if I'm ever going too fast or anything." Robin blushes at that quick kiss, then nods a few times. "I know... and... thanks. I just hope my pace is good for you as well, whether it's too fast or too slow. It's... a whole new realm. A whole new thing to learn." His free hand slides a bit up her back, then he laughs and looks out the window again. "MAybe we should come up here again in the day, when we can see more and maybe be less... distracted?" "Sounds like fun." Summer chuckles, leaning into Robin a bit. "The view up here really is incredible. Thanks for this. Seeing the city lit up from up here is more than I expected I'd be doing when I was still home. Honestly even when I got here I never expected to be here." Robin seems quite happy with the leaning in, his hand on her upper back even pulling her in more. "I've seen the view from the sky a few times, and it's always impressed me... I just wanted to find a way for you to see it as well, and... I remembered this tower." He then looks out the window again, and up at the sky. "Now we just need to find a way to see the stuff that's all the way up there, where you can see the whole nation... the whole world at once!" "Might be something worth looking into." Summer muses. "I'm sure they have technology that could let you see different parts of the country or even the planet here, if this Earth is anything like I heard the stories about that supposedly existed in my reality centuries ago." Robin nods. "I'm sure there is! I mean... I've got pictures on my phone and stuff, but I want to see it with my own eyes, you know?" He smiles again, leaning his head into Summer's. "I want to see everything this whole new world has to offer." "Won't get any argument from me. I heard legends of Earth. I'd love to see it for myself now that I'm here." she grins. "So that does raise a question. What do we do to top this for a second date, anyway?" Robin furrows his brow somewhat. "Eehhh? I thought the first date was supposed to be the big over the top one? You know, for the 'first impression' thing, not that we didn't already know each other. I... really don't have a clue what to do just yet, myself, but I question that it really needs to be something to... super stand out every time, does it?" "It doesn't. I was trying to make a joke." She laughs. "Maybe my sense of humor needs a bit of tweaking." she shrugs. "Whatever we do next is fine by me." "Well, we'll top each date in our own way, in a way that matters only to us, then." He lets out a happy sigh. "But the night does need to end tonight, still. It can't last forever, can it?" "Not unless we're on a planet where there's no sunlight." Summer chuckles. "Mmm. I can't think of a better way for the night to end out though. This was a great capper for it." Robin smiles and nods. "Yeah. I had a good time tonight, Summer." He then lifts his head up to meet his lips with Summer's once again. A kiss the wolfgirl is happy to return, glad to see Robin comfortable enough to even try it, and pulls him a bit closer with her tails. | |
