What lighthearted anime is complete without a Hot Springs Episode? In NeoTokyo, the preeminent hot springs have come straight from the twelfth Ranma 1/2 OAV. Here you can have your comedic series of misunderstandings or perhaps even have that scene where someone's true feelings come out... even if not directly to the person they wanted them to.
A small courtyard. The is a gravel driveway leading off towards the main road here and a small parking lot. An entranceway leads into the resort itself. There are a few lanterns here to illuminate the area at night. There is a small crack in the side of the mountain off to your right, though it appears large enough that you could probably squeeze through it if you wanted to.
This is the lobby of the resort. On a small table be the door there is a small porcelain doll wearing a dark blue kimono. Next to the doll is a sign, "DO NOT TOUCH!" Legend has it, if someone is discourtious in the presence of the doll, it will take vengance upon them. Down the hall is a small registraion desc, and past that the doorway to the inner courtyard.
A small hallway with carpetted floors and wooden paneled walls. There are only a few doors opening off of this hallway, as most guests stay at one of the newer more modern hotels. Someone still prefer this one though, as it is the original one, and has a more romantic atmosphere.
A largish inner courtyard, layed out like a garden. There are winding stone paths through it and benches scattered about. The area is illuminated at night by lanterns that cast a soft glow over the area. Around the edges, there is a covered walkway for when it rains. From here, you can head down the paths to the springs themselves, step into the lobby, head into the small restaurant, or head back to the rooms.
A long narrow walkway down to the springs. Now and then another path heads off, some to other springs, others just off into the woods.
Note: The Men's and Women's springs are actually locked by the gender identified in the player editor
A long narrow walkway down to the springs. Now and then another path heads off, some to other springs, others just off into the woods. There are several springs the are up above eye level that you have to climb stone steps to get to, the stone walls rise up above the spring itself, making them pretty private.
This part of the springs is shielded from view by the nearby foilage, hiding from view those who are using the springs in the way they are advertised. A shallow rise lies near the source of the spring, hiding the horizon, and giving the area a more private feel. However, there's something unsettling about the crack near the base of the hill.... it seems naturally formed, as if it had been there for years.... but had it been there for years, yesterday?
