Robin walks along the street, looking among the buildings. He's finally gotten the hang of the whole restaurant work thing, and he's now, finally, looking into finding an honest-to-god place to live! It's just the start of his search, so he's here looking at places relatively near where he's working. He's heard there's an apartment building nearby!

Megan makes her way along the street; after meeting up with her new / old / future friends, she gotten a bit more realxed withg her situation and really just exploring. AND given the nature of the place, doesn't think people will freak out too much over the pretty green martian. AND there she is. Yes, getting a few looks of course, but she plays it off.

Archene seems rather happy as usual, with a big smile on his face, and quite headphones resting on his neck. Today specially, he is walking around in his normal attire. The last few days had rather, wonderfully pleasant events, so today he was only letting the wind guide him through the city wherever he should go.

Robin, of course, is one of those that does a double take. Still, it is more of a double take than an outright stare. It /is/ a little more than just a glance, though. . o O ( All kinds in this city. I could get used to this! ) He smirks slightly as his attention returns more to the buildings of the area, seeking the apartments. He fingers his mace slightly... but less of a threating motion and more of a 'here's something to do with my hand,' more like drumming his fingers.

Megan moves to a nearby restaurant and seems to be looking over the menu in the window. Maybe causing a bit more of a scene then she really considered she would...so she dissapers around a corner and into an alley way...

Robin raises an eyebrow as the green woman runs into the alley way... But then shrugs. Really, the way she was drawing a small crowd, he can't blame her! This is why, in his alter-ego, Robin tends to stick to the rooftops...

Megan emerges, impossibly from another store across the street. BUT in her human form, slipping right past the crowd that was begining to take notice and back to the restaurant she was checking out. BUT now, she looks human, caucasin, auburn hair, green eyes and some light freckles. She's also wearing a coat, sweater and slacks.

Robin, however, was expecting Megan to instead go roof jumping. As such, much like those Megan was intending to evade, he's completely unaware of the state Megan now is, instead. After another moment, he shrugs, then starts walking again. He, too stops at said restaurant, curious as to what it sells. Soon, soon he'll have the fluid money to try out more places than street food and the place he works at!

Megan turns and is about to walk away, apparently lost in thought; or maybe just a little cumsy sometimes; she may possibly bump into Robin unecpectedly.."Whoop!

Robin did not intentionally position himself with the intent of getting run into! Honest! But, having been unintentionally quiet, he has managed to sneak up on her, and lost in his thoughts of looing at the menu, he reacts too late to avoid the collision, despite a step backward that he was in the middle of taking as he saw her begin to turn. "Gah! Sorry, sorry, my fault. I just wanted to get a look in on that menu as well, sorry."

Megan says, "I'm so sorry! My mind was totally on mars! (truth!) Oh, sorry, Megan Morse, Hi!" she greets, "Kind of new in town and just trying to see what's interesting around here.""

Robin shakes his head. While he doesn't recognize the reference to Mars, he just assumes it's one of many sayings that he's just not going to understand. Or possibly something that only exists in her universe, who knows? Well, almost everyone but Robin, but he doesn't know that. "Don't worry about it! I'm kinda new as well, haven't been here much more than a couple of weeks. Robin Caldworth."

Megan says, "Nice to meet you! Oh, are you doing cosplay? That's a great outfit; looks totally authentic!"

Robin looks really confused by the statement. "Cosplay? Uhhh... I don't... think so? These are just my clothes." He looks down at his tunic, now a lot more self concious about it. Maybe getting some new clothes would be called for sooner than later. "Um... I don't come from a world with as much... technology as this one." It sounded like he had to remember the word 'technology'.

Megan slaps her head, "Hello Megan! I'm SO sorry!" she blushes, "I forgot where I was, I'm such a pudding head," she groans. "I'm still finding my way around here, and where I come from, well...no; if I say anything more, I'll just make it worse. I really should've know better.

Robin glances away. "Let me guess, this world seems backwater to you. Well, every world is different, right? Mine's just... More magic and a lot less technology." He lets out a sigh and shakes his head before summoning up a smile for Megan. "But hey, don't worry about it! New to the world and all, I know it takes some getting used to from personal experience, you can beleive that!"

Megan says, "Yeah, I totally know how it gets too; sometimes it feels like this isn't the first time I've had to get used to a new world...heh. Anyway, where I come from..lately..a lot of my freinds are totally into cosplay, which is where fans of anime an manga and everything spend forever dressing up as thier favorire characters. So, I totallt meant to compliment you; even though it came off totally wrong."

Robin holds up a hand in a 'stop' motion and shakes his head. "Don't worry about it. I've managed to come into understanding of that culture a little lately, so I think I understand what you're talking about." He then looks back at the menu for a second before asking, "So what is it you do, then?"

Megan says, "Me? I..um..well..you see; that is, I....haven't really figured out how I should presnt myself, actually. I spent the first couple of weeks here just lurking, kind of hiding and freaking out; then I ran into some people I know, or some people like people I know. This place is crazy. So, since I can see you're in sort of the same boat, I'll level with you, I'm from not just another..earth. I'm from another planet all together."

Robin blinks, taking a slight moment to register that. "Oh, right, the other worlds but still in the same plane of existance thing! I always forget that's how it works here. So what's that like? I mean... you have an Earth in the world, uh, plane of existance where you came from, then? My world isn't called 'Earth,' we just called it 'the world.'"

Megan says, "I'm actually from Mars but I moved to Earth, in my dimension." She thinks about how that sounds, then just starts laughing."

Robin nods in... partial understanding. That's like moving from one kingdom to another in his world, right? Or is it more like moving continents? He then looks a bit confused at the laughter. "...What makes that so funny? Did I miss something else again?"

Megan says, "No..no..it just sounds funny when I say it; it sounds crazy. Mars is another whole planet, it's the closest celestail neighbor to Earth. You can see it in the sky most nights. But I don't think anyone lives there...uh...in this place."

Robin looks up into the sky. He's not actually expecting to see Mars, mind you, but then he looks back down to Megan again. "...Have you checked? I mean, I heard there's ships that can sail to other worlds here." Sail? He really is from technologically backwater universe! "Maybe you could book passage to Mars? If it's the closest, I'm sure you can find someone that can get you there."

Megan says, "I have my own ship, actually, it's small, but, she's fast. I really just got here, so it hadn't occured to me to go out and see if Mars is Mars as I know it. I'll check with my freinds, really, they'd probably know."

Robin nods. "To be honest, I'm expecting not from what I've heard about this place.... but it wouldn't hurt to look, would it?" He pauses a moment and winces as he indeed thinks of several ways it /could/ hurt, at least emotionally to someone who's homesick.

Megan says, "Things are probably different here, I'm sure...and...pfft, here I am, gushing out that I'm a martian still pretending...." she loses her human disguise and becomes the green girl he saw earlier. "So, this is the real me.""

Robin takes a step back. "Gah!" He quickly glances back at the alley she'd gone into before. "Okay, that was unexpected," he says with a bit of a nervous grin. "But you ducked to avoid attention, I thought?" He looks around, expecting people to be looking their way again. Or rather, Megan's way. Sure, he's dressed oddly, but he usually doesn't get that much attention.

Megan says, "I don't like being dishonest about who and what I am; and there's more, but its comlicated. And people just tend to think I'm a really great cosplayer anyway."

Robin deadpans, "Until you transform, at any rate." He then glances away, somehow seeming a bit guilty. "Well, at least people think you're really awesome at it, though, right?" He looks at his own reflection in the window for a moment before looking back to Megan. Now that he's closer, he gets a better look at her, finally. "Well, your real self looks just fine, if you ask me! Stick to it if you want!"

Megan says, "I generally do...." she smiles, "I really don't have any reason to hide here, so far anyway.""

Robin smiles back, then glances away again, clasping his hands behind his head casually. "Well, I imagine I'm having a bit more difficulty adjusting to all this than you. It's good that you've been able to find your friends!"

Megan says, "So...I take it your here al on your own? that's got to be pretty scary. Well, it was for me before I bumped into the others. Really, I only know-know one of them, but the other are nice. I do know a version of one of them, but she was older then. Weird. place."

Robin tilts his head, looking upward. "Scary... isn't the word. I'm an adventurer. Well, was an adventurer. Getting by in a city isn't scary so much as just... oddly stressful. Confusing. Frustrating. I'm used to travelling more, getting out into the world, getting into trouble, overcoming it, finding treasure, that kind of thing! To be... To be a hero!" He grins as he says this, but then frowns again slightly. "Here I'm finding I'm kinda plain and I'm back to being a yokel again."

Megan says, "I dunno, survival can be heroic. It's just instead of fighting dragons, you're fighting to eat and pay the rent,"

Robin looks back down to Megan again with a raised eyebrow. "Yeah, that's.... really not remotely the same thing," he says at a deadpan, then glances away. "And so far I'm only one for two."

Megan says, "So...you're a fighter then? Do you have any kind of special powers?"

Robin blinks, then shakes his head a bit /too/ enthusiastically. "Naaah, just the trusty old ordinary magic mace!" He pats the mace at his side. Ordinary magic? Apparently magic weapons are fairly common in his world.

Megan I don't know what the rules are; but I can ask my friends, maybe, if you can join up with us? You'd get room and board...and I'm sure we can use more help. Besides, I;m betting Red Robin / he's kind of team leader/ might be getting tired of being the only guy surronded by three beautful girls. OR maybe not.

Robin blinks at the offer, then shakes his head. "Aaahh, thanks for the offer, but I think I'd rather get by on my own!" Second offer in as many days. This is really odd to him. At least this time it's not from an 11 year old girl. Something else then registers with him, and he raises an eyebrow. "Wait, red Robin?" This comes from a red-haired guy named Robin, himself.

Megan says, "Yeah....masked kid, cape, tights."

Robin deadpans, "With as much as our mode of dress has in common, I get the feeling it might be really confusing for me to hang out around him."

Megan says, "Well..I can't just let you run around being hungry and homeless; let me at least drag you back to our Tower, you can cleam up, make crash there when you need to and help out if we need you. Sure, you might not want to join our team, but I'm betteing you can use a friend or two."

Robin sounds a bit defensive now. "I have some friends! I had a bunch of people help me out when I got here, I've got some friends that I'm in talks with about makign a new adventurering team......" Still, he pauses, considering the offer. Was the mention of three beautiful girls intended to entice him? Because it's working. "I guess it wouldn't hurt, but... Only temporary. I've got a job as a waitor, so I'm already /looking/ for a place to live... and I don't want to freeload for any real amount of time.

Robin . o O ( And man, it'll be an awkward explanaition if things do come down to a fight and I have to transform... )

Megan frowns. "You know, you really shouldn't get so defensive when someone is offering to help you out. I never said you didn't have friends.

Robin laughs a bit sheepishly at that. "Sorry, sorry, you're right." He takes a step back to give himself more room to give a slight bow. "I appreciate the offer. If I've not offended you since it, I think I might take it for a few days."

Megan says, "fair enough. So, tell me about your frinds and this Adventure team you're talking about."

Robin stands up straight again, then pales slightly as he's asked to explain the 'Adventure team' he's more or less joined... or rather, helped to create. "Well, um..." He's clearly stalling for some reason. "Well, they're a bit... young, I'll admit, but... Something kinda... clicked with us. One's using a big sword, the other's a mage."

Megan laughs, "Hey, my team was called the Teen Titans; we're all kids. No problem here with that. A clicking is good.

Robin laughs and nods. "Well, that's how an adventuring team usually gets together, from my experience! Circumstances get together and /bam!/" He hits his open palm with a fist. "You're just there working alongside each other as if you'd always been doing it, you know?"

Megan says, "I totally know," she smiles, 'Same thing with my team. Even here, we're pretty much what we were; we're missing some friends and some people are a..little bit different..but I'm okay with that."

Robin nods at that with a slight frown. "That must be... really difficult to get used to. Seeing someone you know, that you're used to, and then.... they're just like a different person?"

Megan says, "There's Starfire...she's so much younger; and really, so much happier then the Starfire I know. I kind of like her better, really."

Robin absently says, "Starfire... Sounds kinda elven. Or at least a translated elven name... I suppose that's good to see your friend so much happier?"

Robin is currently just standing by a restaurant chatting with Megan.

Megan says, "She's Tamarnian; really pretty girl, and really nice for such a..well..war-like race. She's super nice."

Robin tilts his head. "Well, she sounds nice," he says with a slight smirk. "Maybe this Starfire saw less, well, war than the Starfire you knew?" he asks a bit more seriously.

Megan says, "I doubt it. I think maybe, just maybe some people are...just going to be happy and kind no matter what."

Robin smiles lightly, nodding. "I suppose so. I just... it's so /wierd/ to me that there can be a version you knew, and then a version /here/ of the same person... same but different."

Megan says, "Cosmically pychotic, yes."

Iggy steps out of a swirling silver portal that appears in midair, and closes just as suddenly behind him.

Robin sweatdrops slighly. "Cosmically... Psychotic? Okay, now she's sounding a little more scary." He glances to the side slightly, then laughs.

Megan says, "Well...you know; maybe not psychotic...but what; Multiple personalities in a litteral sense."

Robin blinks, then nods and laughs. "Oh, I see what you're saying now! Yeah! You mean the different Starfires, right, right." He laughs once more, then shakes his head. "Yeah, this place sure is psychotic."

Megan says, "I hope I don't run into MYSELf. AWKWAAAAAAARD."

Meanwhile, in the background, a simple Boston Terrier is sneaking around, sniffing at the various scents of the food being served at the restaurant. Nothing to worry about, surely.

Robin laughs and nods. "Oh, man, I can't even imagine! Running into another me? I don't know if we'd be best buddies or bitter rivals!"

Megan says, "I'd think it would be....." she looks over to the Dog, then around, "Hey, that dog looks lost.""

Meanwhile, a girl who *could* be local - if not for wearing a bodysuit that looks suspiciously like it could be a superhero uniform - is walking along with most of a fresh-purchased nikuman in one hand; she's chewing on the second bite of it right now.

Robin blinks then looks over where Megan is looking. "Huh?" Why no, he'd not noticed the dog at all. "...Maybe... might be a stray, though..." In looking that direction, he notices Hisako.

Megan says, "That's what I mean; a gog that is buy himself with no leash is usually lost...you know. Stray, same thing. I hope he's not...this is a dangerous town to be a lost dog in."

As it happens, the dog also notices Hisako, or more rather, her meatbun. With a mischievous gleam in his eye and a toothy grin, he makes a rather impressive leap for a dog of his size, snatching Hisako's bun and taking off down the sidewalk.

Megan says, "Wow, reminds me of a dog I used to know.....hey Hisako!"

Robin looks like he's /about/ to say something, then goes a bit slackjawed at the sudden theft of meatbun.

Megan says, "he's good."

Hisako blinks, looking up from her meat bun and waving to Megan - and she's still in midwave when she no longer has a meat bun in her hand. "Huh ... ?" She blinks, looking in the direction that the dog just bolted. "... he's *fast*," she states, sounding disappointed. "Wonder if I should go buy another or just wait until I get back home ... How's life in NeoTokyo treating you, Megan?" She also bows politely to Robin, not knowing him.

Iggy stops when he realizes nobody's chasing him, looking back over his shoulder with the meatbun still hanging from his mouth. They're not even gonna yell at him? /Well, whatever,/ he thinks as he lays down on the sidewalk and chows down.

Robin waves a bit cautiously to Hisako, recognizing her... but knowing full well she doesn't recognize /him/. And if Hisako doesn't seem upset enough to persue the theif dog, he's not going to hunt the dog down on her behalf. Seeing that Hisako and Megan know each other, he now stays a bit silent off to the side of the conversation, hoping to be 'introduced' to Hisako.

Megan floats over past Hisako, 'So far, so good OH! This is Robin, just met him! Robin, Hisako, met her the other night...but this dog's lost...gonna check for a tag. And he got you food. Naughty pooch! just like Marvin's dog!"

Hisako is definitely upset, but is probably hiding it pretty well. She's more concerned with the fact that the dog already got its mouth on her nikuman - which basically means there's no point in chasing the hungry mutt down; it's not like she can finish eating it at this point. "It's good to meet you, Robin," she greets him. "I'm Hisako Ichiki."

Iggy turns around when one of them finally yells at him, giving Megan a cheeky grin, bits of meatbun still stuck in his teeth, before he lays his head down on his front paws for a nap.

Megan sets down near the dog, hnads on her hips. "Naughty dog, what are you doing running the streets and stealing food, huh? Where's your owners?

Robin blinks in surprise at the floating. THAT took him off guard. "I, uh...." He shakes his head, then gives Hisako a smile. "Robin Caldworth," he says. "Nice to, uh, meet you too."

Iggy twitches his ear at Megan, but otherwise refuses to react to her. Maybe he really is just napping...

Hisako smiles, "So how long have you been in NeoTokyo? Did you get shunted here from another world too ... ?" She glances briefly over at Megan and Iggy; it's not like she can make the stray dog pay up for her to get another meat bun ... but she's not QUITE getting over it as quickly as she thought she could, either.

Robin nods, then shrugs. "Yeah, I've been here nearly three weeks now." As Hisako glances back at Megan and Iggy, he looks that direction as well. "Managed okay, though. Have a job as a waitor, don't have a place to settle down just yet, though."

Megan hmms and says, "Hotdog." To see if she gets a reaction. She has a feeling he's faking.

Robin tilts his head, unsure of what Megan is doing.

Iggy suddenly springs up, his teeth clamping down on the hotdog as he once again- wait a minute, there's no hotdog there, he only snatched air! Confused, he falls flat on his face, but quickly rolls back upright, giving Megan an annoyed look.

Megan says, "This dog is a total player...." she shakes her head, "I SO know the type. he's like those dogs from that cartoon movie with the cat. Listen, you, I'll get you a hotdog, but you better stop stealing. You'll get in trouble."

Hisako says, "As a waiter, huh ... That should be enough to pay the bills. The city has some cheap apartments available - there are enough displaced persons that they're pretty active with supporting new arrivals - so it shouldn't be too hard to find a place you can call your own ..." She pauses, hearing Iggy jump up like that, and Hisako stifles a giggle as she realizes what Megan was doing."

Iggy just rolls his eyes at Megan's words, which some people might find a little unusual. But, with something that sounds halfway between a sigh and a whimper, he pads toward her, seeming docile for the moment.

Robin says, "Cartoon movie with the cat...." Clearly, he's completely lost by that statement. He looks back to Hisako again and nods. "I certainly hope so... I only started looking today, but didn't find anything just yet. Megan, uh, distracted me from that search."

Megan floats over to a vendor and gets a hotdog for the Dog and one for Hisako as well; since she'd been robbed. She looks to the Dog. "Okay, I'm suspecting you're not just an average dog. So I'll be nice and not reda your mind, since that's rude. But you be good and applogize to Hisako." With that she offers a hotdog to him.

Iggy sounds like he's grumbling, though of course there aren't any understandable words in there. He does, however, accept his hot dog without further complaint, and doesn't even make an effort to steal Hisako's, even reluctantly walking back over to her and jumping up onto her lap to (after dropping off the hot dog on the table) give her a lick on the cheek.

Suddenly a small, white figure comes falling from the roof of one of the buildings, landing RIGHT on Iggy. Luckly, despite the impending impact, the form weighs VERY little, if anything at all, sooo impact would barely even be felt.

Robin blinks, then pales ever so slightly when he overhears the 'read your mind' line. This worry goes away slightly at the incredibly soft impact on the dog, however. "What the-"

Megan says, "he should be a good boy now, Hisako, and he's very very Sorry..."

It only takes a split second, but as that strangely light white thing falls onto Iggy, a pair of massive, lion-like paws coalesce in mid-air out of what appears to be sand, clapping onto the fluffy white thing to hold it in place. With an irritated growl, Iggy tries to turn his head to look at whatever the thing was.

Hisako meeps! as she suddenly has a dog in her lap. She smiles and pets Iggy some, though, scritching the terrier behind his ears. "Well, as long as he understands he was wrong to steal my food, it's okay now. Just don't do it twice - hm?" She stops abruptly at the 'paws' grabbing for the fluffy white thing, and ... doesn't QUITE armor up, although she very nearly does will her exo-armor into existence.

It looks like a rabbit plushie...who squeals at getting caught in the big lion like paws.

Megan says, "Oh geez! Don't hurt the bunny!" she calls to the dog, this guy really is some kind of Wonder dog! yes, I went there. She hurries over to be sure, 'Be a good dog!"

Robin reacts as well to the sudden paws emerging from the air... But not the predictable reaching for his mace. No, he makes a motion with his right hand to the center of his chest, looking like he's about to clutch at the air in front of his sternum. He pauses, though, as he realizes that no further threat is happening.

Iggy watches Usami as those paws lift her off of him, holding her in the air where he can get a proper look at her. Buuuuut considering her look, and how little weight she had to her, he deems her to be not much of a threat, and the paws dissipate back into sand that blows away in the wind, allowing the rabbit plush to drop. As Megan comes running over to chastise him, he just rolls his eyes again and jumps from Hisako's lap to the table, starting in on his hot dog.

Usami relaxes as she falls the rest of the way. "Ahh, sorry. Kids can be so violent. I was looking around and one of them just ran up behind me and kicked me off of the roof!" Her little plush stubs for arms flail around like she's trying to put a lot of enthusiasm into what she's saying. "Thank you for catching me!"

Robin slowly lowers his hand back down to his side.

Megan.............................you...are........so....ADORABLE!*Glomp* How can anything so cute exist?!"

Iggy growls, "Good grief, this place is full of weirdos..." It just sounds like normal dog noises to anyone who can't speak Dog, though.

Usami snugs at Megan in turn...at least as much as her little plushie arms can reach. "I'm Magical Miracle Girl * Usami," she states, "Or just Usami! I'm a cuddelable teacher who's sweat like milk, and /not/ just some wierdo." She insists that last part as if someone had just called her a weirdo.

Robin sweatdrops as Usami introduces herself as 'Magical Miracle Girl'. "....So.... you're still a weirdo, then, just... more as well?"

Megan says, "Uh...who called her a weirdo? I sure didn't..that..." she looks to the dog. "Magical dog." She reaches out with her telepathy. *Hello, can you hear me?* she asks with her mind."

Iggy stops eating for a moment, his ears twitching as that strange voice echoes in his mind. Glancing around for a moment, he soon realizes it's Megan doing it, and he responds, *Yes. How'd you do that?* Telepathy, the great linguistic equalizer.

Usami poofs out her cheeks at that responce from Robin. "Meanie..." she murmurs, "...how do other teachers deal with these sorts of things?"

Megan says, "Okay, Mr.Pooch here is sentient, I can read his thoughts..." *I'm a martian; we can do this sort of thing. You're obviusly not a normal dog, are you?* she adds with her mindspeak."

Robin raises an eyebrow. "'Teachers'?" He then looks back to Megan again. "You... wha?"

Iggy goes back to nomming on his hot dog, realizing he doesn't need his mouth to communicate with this girl. *The hell's a Martian?* is the first thing he asks, but soon after he answers her question with, *Nope. Obviously not. I'm Iggy, but you can call me the King of Strays. Has a nice ring to it, yeah?*

Megan says, "Well, it's nice to meet you, King of Strays. I'm Megan...and Martians....are from Mars. Another nearby planet." She just talks regular to him now, but listens with her mind."

Iggy mulls that over a bit, lapping up the crumbs from the hot dog's bun. *Hm... dunno what that is. Anyway, now that you've gone and said it out loud, I think Iggy sounds better.*

Megan says, "Iggy it is, then...these are my friends Hisako, and Robin....and...Usami, was it? Magical bunny girl...Usami?"

Usami says, "Magical Miracle Girl * Usami...but just Usami is ok! Good to meet you!"

Iggy starts wagging his stubby little tail now that his belly is full, acknowledging each of the others as they're introduced in turn with little nods. "So if I heard right before, you can understand me, huh?" he barks at Usami, though again it just sounds like regular barking to everyone else.

Robin looks from Iggy to Usami, then shrugs. "Well, nice to meet the both of you, then, Iggy, Usami."

Usami nods at Iggy. "I understand all kinds of languages!" At least anything that has ANY reason to be recorded into a computer database. "Nice to meet you too."
