Short Description: It's a short creature that looks like a large, plushie, mildly anthropomorphic, white bunny dressed as a magical girl.
However, Usami has proven to have a more mysterious side to her powers, as she has done things like turning a chicken into a cow. Granted, that was in the virtual world, so that level of power is most likely not possible for her in the real world. The truly mysterious thing is that, upon a successful completion of DanganRonpa 1's school mode, she somehow possesses an unpowered robot from before she was created and uses it to defeat Monokuma, letting his victims go free. This suggests SO much about her abilities that has gone unanswered, but it is also likely these abilities aren't canon due to it definitely not happening within the canon progression of the story line.
Background
In the world that made Usami there was a horrific incident known as The Biggest, Most Awful, Most Tragic Event in Human History (or just The Tragedy for short). This incident caused the formation of a group known as the Future Foundation, for the sake of protecting the world from the massive formation of destructive despair caused by the aforementioned Tragedy. The Future Foundation made a program that became known as the Hope Restoration Program, which is formed of a virtual world unconscious people can be put into and have memory alterations. Several members of the Future Foundation attempted to use this virtual world for the sake of undoing traumatic mental damage that several people sustained during the Tragedy.
The people put into the Hope Restoration Program had been pawns of the person who caused The Tragedy, but were hopefully redeemable through use of the program. In attempt to help this plan along, the members of the Future Foundation attempting to save them used an A.I. known as Alter Ego to help them form two new A.I.s to assist their patients (known as the Remnants of Despair) through their healing journey. Due to this Usami and her human looking sister were created. While her sister was meant to act as one of the group in healing, Usami was set up to act as a teacher despite her young age and stuffed animal like appearance. The topic of her teaching is specifically in making friends and the formation of hope.
Usami's class was obviously meant to be a peaceful and fun affair, but unfortunately one of the major forces behind The Tragedy had discovered the Hope Restoration Program and hacked into it, proceeding to break Usami's wand and make her near powerless. The enemy, Monokuma, then reformed Usami into a 'civilian' form known as Monomi who was, instead of her normal appearance, a half white furred with black eye color, and half pink furred with red eye color bunny who only wears diapers. After this point she struggled to help the Remnants of Despair survive and escape the now deadly situation Monokuma had put them in. However, this seemingly failed as Monomi and her sister faced one of Monokuma's punishments(which are an interesting form of execution).
Contrary to her apparent death, however, once the Future Foundation members managed to hack themselves into the Hope Restoration Program, they helped the Remnants of Despair over power Monokuma and the one who hacked him into the program. Their victory brought a recovered, full powered Usami out to personally evict the invader from the program herself. After this all the humans left the Hope Restoration Program and it was likely shut down due to the actions of the Future Foundation members being seen as questionable to the rest of their organization. Rather or not it was shut down, somehow the little A.I. bunny plush has appeared in the real world...except not in HER real world, but in the world of Neo Tokyo.
