The Usual Restaurant


You walk into a very large restaurant with high ceilings that leave the rafters exposed. Fluroescent lamps hang from the ceiling, adding light to the place and tables. Windows adorn the sides of the place, looking out onto the chaos that is Twisted. On some of the walls are paintings, photographs, and some holograms of different B-movies, and a number of people who tend to visit the UR as they're singing karaoke. The hardwood bar rests at the back of the place, it's surface polished and shiny and all together spotless (most of the time). Behind the bar are various beverages that are servered and a giant mirror. There seems to be an inordant amount of different drinks. A large stage rests in one of the corners of the restaurant, with an amazing sound system and a few microphones strung about it. Multiple round wood tables are in the room, and a swing door leads into the kitchen. Another door leads to the dance club, and another to the gym. And of course, there's and exit outside. A large fireplace rests in one of the walls, with a beautiful stone chimney that flows up and out. A long spiral staircase rests near the entrance to the kitchen, leading to a second floor balcony that overlooks the UR itself. The lights up there are a bit dimmer than those down below.

Seated out in the middle of the bar is a fairly large humanoid iguana. Resting on the table in front of him is a half-finished plate of vegetables and an as-of-yet-untouched glass of some orange liquid. He is chewing slowly, seeming to be in no apparent rush.

The lights in the UR flicker darkly, fog rolling in outside the window. With a loud -CRACK- the lights finally give and the UR goes dark. What little light is left from day fades quickly. If one could see, the paint is curling and falling off the wall. Chunks of concrete vanish, some fall and turn to debire on the floor. Rebars can be seen through the walls, and the metal of the barstools start warping. A pungent burnt smell moves it's way through the now stale air.

Mei's weight climbs up onto the bar, her yawn escaping as she makes sure her funbags are covered before startledly ducking herself back against the bar to peeeeer a lil bit. "gwuh... again? Twice in one day " she mumbled.. her forehead connecting with the bar's surface two or three times. its kind of like a head desk.

The lizard turns his attention away from his meal toward the disturbance that is rolling in, only to look around quickly as more and more things start happening at once. A rather perplexed expression crosses his face before too long, but despite even the chairs beginning to warp he does not rise from his own. He does, however, take the opportunity to wash down the food with some of the drink.

The food and drink Maz comsumes will taste like dust and age. The windows groan and grow hairline cracks, as the Air pressure in the room builds. The sound of weeping and scared children leak in from outside, babies crying for their mothers. Suddenly, everything goes unnaturally quiet. ... ... ... ...

Mei's fingers go to a small vial that she pops in her hair, her weight lifting up to sit on the bar, "... it smells like wraithshadow manor in here.." she mumbled, her hands rubbing her ears, serpent hair, all four neatly slipping from her hair to nip at the air and spaz out. Honestly she's lookin' kinda tiny here. Her fingers cordially remove her eye patch from her bad eye to keep an eye on the room for whatever reason.

Mazurek drinks only enough to get the food down, but that would only be due to the bad taste suddenly getting to him. He ends up gagging and choking a bit from it, even cringing slightly. The looks of disgust would probably be the one thing others might notice after having been so neutral the whole time. He doesn't even try to see if the food suddenly tastes that way, pushing the remains of the vegetation away.

An air raid siren, like those in the war clips from the 1930's-1945's, pireces the air. Underneth the sound comes the notes of metal being dragged across the street. The paint curlings flip over and scuttle around on the floor. If you look at their underbelly, you'd see little faces, as though they were people. The air shifts, but some how remains the same. What's going on here?

Mei's weight stumbles, hands over her ears as a small barrier of water surrounds her head. Probably just to kill some of the excess sound. She gives a nod toward Mazurek. Again checking to make sure her body is properly covered. How does she breathe? How does she bring the water forth.. Where did she get the marshmallow in her hand?

That's a sound he hasn't heard in a long time. In fact, the only time he's heard those sirens would have been during times of extremely bad weather...unless they end up sounding differently from one another. The sound of metal scraping finally brings him into action, finally rising to his feet. Well...rising to them if he hasn't been restrained by the odd shifting of all the seats anyway.

From the balcony above, a child's voice rings out, sweet and pure, "What are you doing?" Barbed wire lashes out of the floor, wrapping it around Maz's standing form. Well, more specifically... One curles around each of his legs, digging into his hide, pulling downwards to keep him planted. 4 more shoot out and wrap up his arm and across his chest. Razor wire is on this, mind you, tearing at him. A girl peers from the shadows, eerily.

Mei's weight bounces, razor wire is a good hint its time to leave. She removes the water, taking it to form a ball in her palm which is neatly splashed into a sink, her expression cheerful but her body attempting to head for the door and leave, quite obviously wanting nothing to do with this happening. Being highly susceptible to injury and all.

If anyone ever wanted to see a warrior tense and show off a bit more muscle than usual, now would be the time. The wire that digs into the tender, unscaled flesh of the legs causes a bit of bleeding to occur down there, and the extra wire that wraps around each of the four arms and the expansive chest also digs in more than enough to cause bleeding. His head draws back and he actually lets out a form of yowl as the tug of all the wires has them being tugged out to their extremes.


The voice calls again, "What are you doing?" Nothing stops Mei, as this force is not after her, and not allowed to take Mei to where Maz will be going. The barbed wire digs and pulls to emphise the point of the question.


Mei pauses and shows just a bit of pity. She holds her hands out and draws them in closer, voice getting soft and voice chanting. Mazurek might feel a bit of well, pressure around him to help keep the wire at bay and help deter some injury. She seems very worried about the stranger, for no reason other than you know, having a heart, not that she could even defend herself against the stranger or the warrior really.. well she could run away, she's good at that. "M-maam, I do believe you're going to injur him gravely if you continue applying such pressure."


The barbs dig even further into the reptile's body, which only makes the tensing that much worse. The bleeding has already started a small pool of blood to form under him. He manages to speak through the bit of pain, his gutteral speech understood by the demon but not the locals, "What do you mean? You gave me leave to explore."


Wire coils up in front of Mei, threatingly. Fire laces up the wire surrounding Maz. Warm (but not burning) flames lick at Maz's face, as a lover would. "Not topside." More wire slides up his body, curling and caressing every inch not already covered, or his face. "Never topside."


Mei takes a deep breath, changing languages suddenly to a more flowy and hissy demon dialect of what Maz was speaking, definantly serpentine "I mean no harm or disrespect, but you're harming him and it really doesn't seem quite right given that he's been somewhat nice while here." she commented, hands infront of her face, watching the wire "You don't want to harm me, I'm harmless and unlikely to be any challenge. And where is the fun in that?" she sways her hands a bit to emphasize the point. Her body posture is non aggressive and her face is a little akwardly posed because she's trying to help the person who helped her earlier kind of and not do the usual FLEE!.. Also where the fuck is her body guard :| seriously.

Whether the lizard is even aware of the barrier that is trying to hold back the pain of the barbed wires is uncertain but the sudden revealing of another knowing the language has him surprised and he looks directly to Mei, "Please do not interfere. I did not know this was apparently offlimits. I will not cringe from whatever punishment is going to come to me for this error. I am new to this realm." He is speaking through the pain, the licking of the flame unavoidable even if it isn't burning him. He is not pulling back on any of the wire, however, which shows some control over his body.

Quick as a flash, the wire lashes out, striking Mei's left cheek, cutting her skin. The girl pays Mei no mind though, assumeing that her wire would do the talking for her. "Oh my dear dear pet." The last word is spoken with a fuild of emotions. Rage, hate, kindness, and pride all at once. "You and I will have to have a little talk." Alessa finally appears, in her chared school jumper, long black hair mostly covering her black void eyes. Her small body is glowing in flames, the smell of burnt hair and skin wafting from her. One lone streach of wire worms its way up Maz's form, curling around his neck and up under his chin. It tenses enough to bring pain, but not enough to maim or kill the Lizard.

Mei's expression is calm "I hate sufferi-" she's cut off by the wire, her eye instantly watering on the right side only her face is sensative ;.;. The blood spilled causes a very strong almond scent to the air and cause a black flash from Mei. its enough to reveal that she's pretty scrawny, enough so that a Human would of probably kicked. Small puncture wounds are apparent on her arms and shoulders, old lash marks on her back, apparently it was enough to you know, make her loose all concentration. Oddly and horribly a few marshmallows rain during that odd few seconds. Within a moment Mei's got the illusion back up and is holding the little cut, fingers taking out bandage pad.. with .. kitties on it? to apply to the small injury "Please do not strike me again." she whispered, backing up. Maz might also feel more pressure.

Mazurek turns his head away from Mei slightly to look at the appearing figure nearby, his own face lighting up into a smile even as the next bit of wire rises up to coil around his throat, which forces him to keep the dewlap from extending as much as possible. He does not speak again this time, merely nodding as he half expects this new wire to suddenly wrap around his snout next to muzzle him. The new bit of pressure is finally noticed and he suddenly adopts a look of confusion as the pain of the new cuts don't seem as bad as before.

Alessa's gaze falls on Mei. "Leave. Now." Her attention goes back to Maz and the wire around his body digs further in. The wire around his throat seems to pulsate. Alessa leans in to whisper in his ear, "Scream for me, pet." The wires contract and wiggle, and the fire warms up further.

Mei's body vanishes, out of existence.

The sudden tightening of the barbed wires around the iguana makes even more of a mess on the floor than before. His breathing becomes shallower as well as he fights the pain that only increases as the seconds tick by. The barbs dig into even the nipples dotting the chest and that only makes it worse for him. He holds back the building cry of pain, but when he is coaxed to do so it finally comes out in a wail of agony, head drawing back and eyes closing tightly. It is at this time that he finally does start pulling on the restraints, as if the pained cry had triggered an instinct to get free.


Alessa nearly purrs in the back of her throat. Smiling, she runs a finger across each of the cuts inflicted, his blood covering her fingers. The fire gets warmer, and Alessa throws out a bit of a show. Maz will feel hands of hundreds on him, grasping, tugging, pokeing. Whispers fill the room, and the two are sucked down into the depths of Hell, the UR returning back to normal with nothing to show of the pain experienced here. The floors are clean and spotless, the fog has vanished, the lights are even back on. Alessa leaves no evidence of her being there.
