You walk into a very large restaurant with high ceilings that leave the rafters exposed. Fluorescent lamps hang from the ceiling, adding light to the place and tables. Windows adorn the sides of the place, looking out onto the chaos that is Twisted. On some of the walls are paintings, photographs, and some holograms of different B-movies, and a number of people who tend to visit the UR as they're singing karaoke. The hardwood bar rests at the back of the place, it's surface polished and shiny and all together spotless (most of the time). Behind the bar are various beverages that are served and a giant mirror. There seems to be an inordinate amount of different drinks. A large stage rests in one of the corners of the restaurant, with an amazing sound system and a few microphones strung about it. Multiple round wood tables are in the room, and a swing door leads into the kitchen. Another door leads to the dance club, and another to the gym. And of course, there's an exit to the outside. A large fireplace rests in one of the walls, with a beautiful stone chimney that flows up and out. A long spiral staircase rests near the entrance to the kitchen, leading to a second floor balcony that overlooks the UR itself. The lights up there are a bit dimmer than those down below. In the usual restaurant, sitting at a table, Felina is alone.. however, on her table, there is what looks to be.... A ball of yarn? And she is batting it around quite playfully with her hands, her eyes shining with interest. The door to the back creeeaaaks open slowly and in classic noisy fashion. Pale blue-glowing eyes peer out from the darkened room into the UR proper, and come to rest on Felina. Felina continues to bat the ball around the table playfully, quite focussed upon it, not noticing that the door has opened, and an individual has entered, right now.. Xue steps out from the shadows of the back room, letting the door close behind her. She slowly and calmly walks over to where Felina is sitting. Precisely who she wanted to speak to.... Felina suddenly looks up, her eyes perking, and she glances around as if spooked, her fur standing on end, until she realises it is Xue.. then she blinks, regaining her composure.. "Oh.. Hey Miss Xue.. " Xue takes a seat across from the catgirl "Ive found some new information from the sample i took. Do you wish to hear it?". Uh oh. Buisnesslike mood, she is in. Either something important, or something negative. Or both. Felina hmms, and she nods faintly,. "I think it's best if I know as much as I can, miss Xue... If I don't learn, how can I grow?" Xue nods "Sometimes withholding the truth is the best choice. Im simply making sure you desire it of your own free will. Not everyone can handle it. First, dont consume any more of that mana youve been conjuring. It has some kind of taint, or at worst 'mutation' due to this world influence. Youll end up with no memory, and large amounts of power, and i dont think i need explain what power without a mind to control it can do.....". She orders a glass of water, and continues "second off, i managed to figure out a few things about your origin. Again, do you wish me to tell you?" Felina frowns.. "I.. was losing my mind??? That's bad.. really bad.... But I do want to know everything I can about myself.. where I came from... " Xue nods "WHERE, i havent explored. As to HOW, as you know from what i said prior, your a flesh golem of some kind. A magical construct, or a clone of someone known to be powerful. All i could find was that someone elses blood was involved in the process. However, in this, i found out why you have your own mind and were not as much a slave as they wanted. The accident was a single hair from a white housecat. When they made all the spells to control you and such, they were casting it on what they THOUGHT was something of completely human origin. Since the sample was contaminated, the spells geared as such never worked to begin with." Felina hmms, closing her eyes for a moment, before she nods, taking this in.. "and that contamination.. is what made me what I am.. It made me... me? Because a cat's hair got in what was to make me. And cats are not as trainable as most things.. " Xue says, "Hard to say. A person is who they are. The hair i think simply changed your species just enough that the control spells, which were geared for a human subject, didnt work, or failed after a short time, simply because you technicly arent human." Felina nods.. and she then knocks the ball of yarn again accidentally.. which catches her attention.. "Nya!" Xue smirks slightly "Although some things inherant COULD have been passed on, i suppose...." Felina meows, then she giggles.. lookig back to you blushing faintly.. "Heh.... I don't remember doing that before... ". She closes her eyes.. "I need to find a better alternative way to absorb magic.. magic that won't corrupt me..." Xue thinks for a few moments "There may be another way......" Felina hmms, "There may? How?" Xue says, "Back home, mages can be taught to draw their power for spells from another source, such as an individual. Drawing from the environment and concentrating the substance into a liquid was the method you employed. I suppose you potentially COULD draw it right into yourself with practice. With the right augmentation or protection, you may be able to do so without absorbing the harmful aspect present..... ill need to do more testing, however." Felina hmms.. "I could try it.. but if I mess it up.. it could be even worse, couldn't it?" Xue says, "At worst, there may be a way to refine the substance itself, again, after more testing. I may be able to create an object that will do it for you, and you just drain the object when you need to. Id need to see if i can do so without the harmful aspect being present, though." Felina nods, and she smiles faintly, "thank you miss Xue... " then she hmms, considering.. "I have noticed my fur has changed.. maybe it would be a good idea to examine what effect that might have in the long term..." Xue nods "Thats next on my list, although i dont think that its too big a deal". She takes out a small vial, and stands, walking over to felina with a small pair of scissors for sampling of some of the fur "It may simply be a temporary sideeffect, like how eating large amounts of carrots can make a persons skin take a slightly orange hue for awhile". Felina nods.. and as you try to cut the fur, she winces, as due to it's now crystalline-nature, it slinters rather than cutting neatly. Xue hhmms.... taking a closer look. She carefully tries to pull one out with its follicle intact, to see what it looks like below the skin.... Felina grimaces as the sliver of crystal is pulled out.. the follicle is like a small, spiked bulb under the skin, which tears as it is removed, but then it seals again with a faint blue shimmer, and a rippling beneath the skin.. the spikes on the bulb however themselves look fractured. Xue hhmms "complete crystalization of the hair..... interesting.... it may be temporary, or reversable. I'll have to do some tests with these samples and see what i find out..... it might be some kind of chaos magic effect, which can do a variety of strange things to the caster by complete chance...." Felina nods.. "Okay... I wonder though.. " When the hair is examined more closely, it will prove to focus and amplify magic around it.. Xue doesnt have any of her detection spells active presently, so misses this detail. She puts the sample in the vial, and puts it in her bag "Ill take a closer look at that after ive eaten". At this point a tray with a few veggies and some bacon is delivered to the table, which she takes to with zeal *no, not the queen*. Felina nods faintly, and she then turns back to her yarn ball.. batting it around a few times.. before she yawns with a meow.. Xue finishes her food in record time, although not quite as obnoxious as Ranma would. She stands, and gives a wave "Back to work for me. When i find out something, ill let you know". Felina looks over and smiles, "mmkay.. Thank you miss Xue!" Xue nods, and disappears into the back again, door closing behind her and locking with a *CLICK!* | |
