The Usual Restaurant

You walk into a well lighted room, it's high ceilings lit by dozens of fluorescent lamps hanging from the ceiling. To the south and west are windows, which you would normally expect to see the outside world from, but looking out of them, you see only a misty gray haze. On the walls to the north and the east of the inn are an eclectic collection of paintings, photographs and even holographs of many cheap 1970's to 1980's B-movies. The bar on the east side is made out of hardwood, it's surface polished and shiny. Behind the bar, the various beverages that are served here are kept in relatively neat containers on wooden shelves. There is a large stage in one of the corners of the restaurant with a impressive sound system and a few microphones strung about it. Multiple round wood tables are in this room, near the north wall, is a double swing door that leads to the kitchen. On the east wall is a door leading to the UR's dance club and on the west one leading to the Gym. To the south, is the exit to the outside. A recent addition to the UR is a large fireplace against the west wall, it matches well to the rest of the restaurant and looks like it should have been there all along.

Dragonmaster Cale is currently behind the bar, a few leather bound books opened in front of him. There's also about seven different large rocks, floating at various heigths above the bar. A strawberry italian soda rests in his left hand.

Yoiko-chan walks in slowly looking very tired an exausted. Seeing Cale and the ever-existing bar she smiles and makes her way directly to them. Beside her walks Checkers, happy and indiffent to the world as always. Yoiko sits down at a stool and grins at Cale, "Hi! What's up?"

Dragonmaster Cale looks up and grins fangedly, "Ah! Yoiko! Hey, hey. Mmm, not much, just working on magic so I can get my house floating above the sea without crashing down into it later, he he he." He gestures at the floating rocks.

There are currently about seven large rocks floating at different heights above the bar, for Daniel's information.

Yoiko-chan nods weakly, "Cool... any chance I could trouble you to make me a drink?"

Dragonmaster Cale shakes his head, "Not a problem!" He says, "What do you want?" He wonders, taking a sip of his own soda.

Daniel strolls on into the UR, glancing at his watch for a moment before letting the door close behind him. No sooner does he take a look around the place and ponder if he should stay or go then his eyes fall upon the large rocks hovering over the bar. "Eh?" He stares for a few long moments, blinking his eyes several times and then slowly shaking his head. o O (Great, now what?) He wonders to himself, taking a couple small, slight steps back. After all, anything magical or powerful-looking showing up in the UR tends to be...dangerous.

Yoiko-chan shakes her head slowly, "Just a soda or something... I don't care... I've been out in that park all day, I just wanted something to drink before I went home..."

Dragonmaster Cale looks over towards Daniel as he comes in, "Greetings!" He says, then nods at Yoiko, mixing up a strawberry italian soda quickly. He sets it before her and then looks back to one of his open books.

Daniel raises his hand, waving to Cale, if a bit hesitantly. "Heya..." He keeps a good, steady distance from the bar as he chooses a seat over by the window nearest to the door. That way he can make a quick escape if he needs to.

Dragonmaster Cale glances over towards Daniel and decides to let an NPC waitress take his order for now. He looks to one of the rocks that's in the relative middle area. And climbs up onto the bar, touching it with his finger, a purple glow flowing around it. "Mmm..."

Yoiko-chan sips her drink as she stares up at Cale, now standing above her. "So... um... any luck yet?"

Dragonmaster Cale glances down to Yoiko, "Ah? Yeah, quite a bit now, actually, he he. I've got the right mix on the gravity magic. Now, I have to find the right way to keep it there, with using the least amount of magic neccessary. That way, it won't take as much of an effort on the artifacts I have to make later to keep the spells in place."

Yoiko-chan has no idea what he just said, but respectfuly nods anyways, "Oh... I see... so, um.. your gonna have a floating house?"

Dragonmaster Cale nods his head, hopping down from the bar, eyeing the now glowing middle rock still, "Yeah, well...there's not enough room on the island, eh heh...and I can't keep my house inside of my portals forever, so...I'm going to have it floating up above the sea n stuff."

Yoiko-chan stares confused for a moment until she remembers that Cale has wings, "Oh... so your gonna fly in and out when you need to, then?"

Dragonmaster Cale nods his head, "Yeah, more or less. Eh heh, it's gonna make it hard for visitors...I'm still trying to work that part out...it's to draining to have a magical teleport permanently setup...or, well, I think it would be." He sweatdrops, "I've never tried to make one before..."

Yoiko-chan smirks at his expression as he sweatdrops. "Maybe you could build a bridge or something?" Sipping her drink she pauses, "Or a deck... I dunno. Wouldn't a house boat be easier?"

Dragonmaster Cale sweatdrops bigtime, "Anoo...w-well..." He rubs the back of his head, "Th-the truth is I er..k-kinda miss sleeping on my giant piles of treasure as a dragon, eh heh heh heh...s-so, I kind of need a lot of space for that, mm..."

Renamon phases into the Usual up in the rafters. She's still trying to figure out what happened to her and where she is. She's been through parts of this town which don't seem to make any sense and appear as a mish mash of cities from the rest of the world.

Daniel blinks at Cale as he overhears that. o O (A Dragon...Dragonmaster? Geez, isn't that..." He thinks for a moment, "A monopoly?

Yoiko-chan stares blankly at the thought, "Yeeaah... alright... Um, remind me not to sleep over at your place..."

Dragonmaster Cale sweatdrops again! "A-anoooo..w-well, th-that's under my house! And, er, y-ya know...I have the normal house above that, and I don't always b-because, you know, Ayika doesn't turn into a dragon so...I only do it once in awhile."

Renamon says, "......."

Yoiko-chan shakes her head, oO(Enough bad mental images already!) "So, do you know where your sister might be? I was wanting to see if she was okay. She ran off pretty suddenly the other day when I bumped into her... I was kinda worried something might have happened..."

Daniel leans back, peering up at the rafters as he folds his arms back behind his head. He just stares up at them for a few long moments until Renamon kinda...pops into existance. "GYAH!" He wavewaves his hands, suddenly finding his balance robbed by the sudden appearance of the fox-like Digimon! Sloooowly the chair tips backwards until *THUNK* the young man finds himself on his back, starting straight up at the rafters with spinning eyes. @_@

Dragonmaster Cale blinks at Yoiko and erms, "A-ah?" He looks over to Daniel, glancing up at what caused the freak out, figuring it's Yuki playing around, but it's just another UR patron. He looks back to Yoiko, "Y-yeah, she's fine...umm..I th-think she's in the back...right now...eh heh...did er..you want to talk to her..or..can I just pass a message?" He gives a nervous fanged smile.

Renamon blinks as Daniel falls over.

Daniel lifts his head up just slightly, gritting his teeth and robbing at the back of his head slowly. "Owww..." He starts to regain his feet, picking up the chair and glancing up at the Renamon after a moment. o O (How long has she been up there? It's like she just popped out of nowhere and scared me half to death.) He starts to look around the room, o O (I wonder where that trainer of hers is?

Yoiko-chan thinks for a moment and smiles, "Nah, if she's busy it's alright. Just let her know we where kinda worried about her is all..."

Dragonmaster Cale nods hs head, "Y-yeah, no problem! Eh heh...I-I'm pretty sure she j-just forgot a spell of hers was finishing up and she h-had to get back to it before it ended is a-all..."

Renamon says, "Your balance needs work."

Daniel blinks, "Huh?" He narrows his eyes just slightly at the Digimon, "Hey, it was the chair's fault, not mine. I've got perfect balance." He retorts with a slight snort before he sits back down in the chair. "After all the training I've been through I'd better be good at balance, otherwise I would've washed out of pilot training before I even got past the basic physical fox-girl."

Renamon asks, "You were the one who fell out of the chair. Why does that make it the chair's fault?"

Daniel says, "It makes it the chairs fault because it's a wobbly chair, it's hard to stay in a chair falling backwards since once you hit the ground you're going to tumble backwards by default."

Yoiko-chan nods her head, "Yeah, she did seem kinda distracted." Glancing briefly at Daniel as he talks to the celing, she takes another sip of her drink and turns back to Cale. She's clearly gotten much to used to odd things going on in this place. "So is the place officialy opened again, yet? Or is that not for a few more days?"

Renamon smirks and then leaps from the raftersvanishes, and reappears standing next to Daniel. "If you weren't flailing around like a chicken with it's head cut off, you wouldn't have had that problem."

Dragonmaster Cale shakes his head, "It's all open again, eh..it's actually -always- open even when it's in rubble, the bar's still open, he he he." He glances back at Trinune and nods his head, waving his hand the seven rocks, and the books, disappear in a black mist. He smiles fangedly, "Gomen nasai, Yoiko. It's really good to see you again, but, eh, I kind of have to get some sleep. I told Ayika I wouldn't stay out all night tonight, eh heh..."

Checkers glances at Renamon with a passing intrest before closing her eyes and falling asleep.

Yoiko-chan smiles, "Yeah, I was gonna head home anyways, Thanks for the drink!"

Dragonmaster Cale grins fangedly, "No problem! Eh, I'll tell Carla you said hi, eh heh...I'm sure she wanted to go to the mall, maybe next time you and Samantha go, ne?"

Yoiko-chan giggles, "Alright. Sounds like fun... Tell her she's welcome to drop by, I live right next to Samantha's place..."

Renamon smirks and then leaps from the rafters, vanishes, and reappears standing next to Daniel. "If you weren't flailing around like a chicken with it's head cut off, you wouldn't have had that problem." (repose for Daniel)

Dragonmaster Cale erms, "S-sure...o-okay then. Oyasumi!" He waves to Daniel and Renamon, "Goodnight! Thanks for coming to the Usual Restaurant!" He then heads off through the kitchen doors.

Daniel raises his hand to wave to Cale. "Ja, Oyasumi Nasai!" Then he looks over at Renamon again as she leaps down, vanishes and then touches down next to him. "Well exscuse me if I'm a little surprised by looking up and seeing Digimon pop in out of nowhere."

Renamon quirks a brow. "If you know what I am, why did I surprise you?"

Daniel folds his arms over his chest, a faint hint of a smirk on his face. "Because I might know what you are, but that doesn't mean I know everything that you can do. So seeing you just 'appear' out of nowhere kind of broke my concentration." He lifts his shoulders up in a slight shrug, "Besides, aren't you supposed to be around with your trainer? I don't see...Ruki...is it? Around here."

Renamon says, "Tamer. And I'm not sure of it myself."

Yoiko-chan glances down at her sleeping dog and sighs, "Girl... I'm tired too, couldn't you have waited?" Hopping off her stool, she kneels down beside her and nudges her awake, "Come on, let's go home..."

Daniel bites his lower lip, barely managing to avoid snickering at all the little nuances that word 'Tamer' has in it. "So, you lost her?" He asks after a second, looking over at the fox-like Digimon with a slight lifting of his own eyebrow. "I thought Digimon and their Tra..." He pauses, "Tamers were inseperable?"

Checkers opens her eyes and lazily blinks at Yoiko. With a yawn she stretches and stands, shaking herself as she does so and slowly walks to the door.

Renamon says, "One can hardly predict glowing portals sweeping one up from seemingly nowhere"

Yoiko-chan smirks at her dog and follows her out. As she passes Daniel and Renamon she habitualy gives them both a smile and wave as she opens the door and goes home...

Daniel nods slowly, his blue eyes momentarily getting a distant, sad look to them. "Or the collapsing of whole dimensions." He mutters under his breath, but he pushes the gloom away for a moment to smile and wave back to Yoiko.
