Zeku-Kari Dock(#5337R)

While in great condition, this dock tends to give off the impression that there have been a lot of goodbyes said here. Perhaps people travelling to - and from - whatever this place used to be. The shack looks worse up close than it did from the beach. Dark char marks indicate it was recently set on fire, and the half-collapsed roof implies it should really be condemned. Weirdly, a rolling chair sits inside, looking completely untouched from any damage. Off the pier, a small wooden boat hides, its anchor rope the only clue, bobbing up and down as it moves on the slight waves.

The lapping of the waves against the wooden beams of the pier would be considered a relaxing noise for nearly any being looking to discover a piece of tranquility within the wild yet mostly tamed chaos of the Twisted Street. Sitting at the far end on what appears to be a mini-fridge, a heavily cloaked figure stares out at the water.

Resting next to him is a rather large and heavy looking ornate fishing rod, it's line vanishing far into the distance. Where one would assume the reel would be, instead is curved into a heart, with the line itself coming from a round red orb. Every so often the rod moves as something nibbles on what one would assume to be a hook, yet the figure next to it pays it no mind.

Obviously, they're waiting for a bigger catch.

From inside the ruins of the small shack at the start of the pier, the sound of rolling wheels can be heard. Faintly at first, but they grow louder as an old rolling chair appears through the doorway and louder still as it kathunkthunkthunks across the boards up to the cloaked figure. So much for not scaring the fish. Coming to a halt next to the cloaked fisherman, the chair slowly rotates around revealing another robed figure. This one small enough to not be able to touch the ground as it stops spinning and looks at the stranger with large reflective silver eyes. "Seth tells me I need to be more sociable." She pulls the collar of her robes up as she tries to reach the end of her sleeve with the same arm. "It's not doing me many favors."

"Meh. Bein' sociable gets you in trouble." The cloaked fisherman reaches down infront of them, and retrieves a paper bag. The bag is then extended out to the much smaller figure. "But, it also does get you donuts. I even made sure they had sprinkles."

Even if the bag is taken by the smaller figure or not, it'll remain there in the air as the fisherman removes their hand, only to reach down and retrieve the fishing rod. The line instantly starts to pull itself in, the rod slowly shrinking down itself until it's no larger then a key to a lock. The key is then attached to a small silver bracelet upon their wrist.

"You are looking a tad more healthy these days however, Miss Dark."

Nancy takes the offered donuts with little hesitation and ooh's slightly as she looks in the bag. She doesn't say much to the show with the key, focused more on the treat than much else. When her name is said aloud she winces slightly, taking a nibble and pulling her feet up onto the seat with her. "'Healthy' isn't how I'd put it." She hugs her knees with her free arm. "Did you catch what you where fishing for...?" She takes another small bite.

"I didn't say better, I just said healthy." The fisherman turns now, to face the young woman, carefully lowering his hood with his hands. The Lord of the Endless Planes gives Nancy a weak smile, only to reach down and open the door of the mini-fridge, leaning over slightly to retrieve two cans of soda. Laying one of the cold cans upon his lap, the other is offered again to the girl.

"As for me catching what I was fishing for? It would kind of depend on how I look at it." Caliga reaches down to the can in his lap, carefully pulling the tab to release the sweet sweet sugary goodness contained within. "If it was for an actual fish? Hell no. Those things are too damn smart in these waters. If it was for somethin' else? Yeah. I caught just what I was lookin' for."

The girl looks a bit relieved to finally see his face. She'd suspected it was him, but wasn't entirely certain. After a slow exhale she asks, "What did I do wrong this time?" Last time he spoke to her was when he yelled about her adventure with Gegoshi for Guarlesia. She does take the offered drink with the same hand she'd held the donut, now that it's finished. Instead of drinking it she stares at the label, slowly sounding out the letters under her breath.

"I'm sure you can think of a few things, but I can promise you no yelling today." Caliga takes a long drink of his soda as he watches Nancy read the label of the can, allowing her to process the information at her own pace. He nods as she sounds the letters out, "That's right. Hetab."

He waits a few more moments, allowing the girl time to process his words, with an extreme lack of any sort of sarcasm or reproach. But once he does, the topic does change slightly. "I'm sure you have your own ideas as to why I'm here, so before I tell you, how about you tell me them first."

Nancy blinks at the word and smiles when he confirms it. It's only then that she tries to drink it, assuming he handed her the open can. The question gets an odd look followed by her staring down at the can even longer. "I had to save my brother." There's nothing playful in her voice. It comes out bluntly and cold with a tone that implies her true age struggling from within her. "I saw the street ripped apart and I went to save my brother." She lightly shakes the can, feeling the soda slosh around inside it. "I was a member of Twisted's Council and I ignored the people of the two cities to save my own kin."

By this point the shoulder she'd struggled with is again visible, the robe having fallen off it anew revealing her much smaller frame underneath. She realizes it as she unlocks the arm around her legs and pulls the robe back up once more. "Now we don't even look like twins anymore, not that we did by the time I was let out anyways." Her eyes have begun to water slightly. "So to hazard a guess, that's what this is about." Out flops her shoulder afresh which this time she pulls the robe's collar up and holds in place. "I don't regret it. I would do it again if I had to."

"What happened..." Caliga goes quiet as well, struggling himself to put his thoughts into words that would be hard to misunderstand. He closes his eyes, only to softly speak once again. "Nancy.. This is going to be hard to fully understand, but.. What happened was meant to happen the way it did..."

Reaching up with his left hand, Caliga retrieves the key from the bracelet upon his wrist. The key grows in size, until it's the size of a small scepter. A faint red light eminates from the red jewel within the scepter, creating a small screen in the air before the two. "What has happened was meant to happen. Even if we could go back and change it... it would create a future where things could be far worse. Or perhaps they would be far more peaceful. All I can do now is watch."

Images flash across the screen of light, showing the different ages of the Twisted Street, each one thriving and growing, then suddenly collapsing in on itself. The pattern continues to repeat until finally, events that even Nancy herself would remember start to play out.

"Your choices Nancy.. are yours and yours alone. It is the sole freedom that can never be taken away from you. Your choices. My choices. Diablo's. Concordance's. It was each of our choices that broke a cycle to create a new one. I couldn't tell you if this is right, or wrong... I can only show you how it once was. At least, with Twisted itself..."

The girl looks away when things dare to look familiar. Her eyes focused heavily on the water as they always seem to fall. When Caliga finishes speaking she pushes herself to her feet, carefully places the drink on the dock before him, and walks away. It might seem at first as though she's done with this conversation, especially as she walks into the ruined shack and a dense fog seems to roll in. After a moment she steps back out adjusting a very poofy blue dress she's chosen to put on instead of her ill-fitting robes. Running her fingers along the strap which is tied behind her neck in a small bow, she tugs at it to make sure it's tight and then comes walking back to pick her soda up and sit down once more. All she says in response is, "I couldn't take it falling off anymore." She wiggles her bare toes reaching to touch the pier with them and lets out a sigh. It probably wouldn't hurt to point out to her the chair could be adjusted.

It's only then that she even considers commenting on what was said, crossing her arms indignantly with the can held off to the side. "YOU can watch. I'd rather not be reminded of things I can't change. All they bring is pain and I've had more of that than you can imagine."

"You're right. I couldn't imagine your pain. The only thing I can know of it is what I have seen here since you've arrived Miss Dark." Caliga doesn't bother adressing the fact that she could adjust the chair. Maybe it's more comfortable for her that way. Who the heck is he to judge on that scale?

"Miss Dark. What I am trying to say is your choices are your own. Only you can decide if they are wrong or right. Others will be quick to tell you their own thoughts.. but." The man stops for a few moments before lowering the rod in his hand. The screen of light fades, leaving the open water before them as the only thing to really look at instead of each other. "The past shouldn't be changed. It should be learned from, so we may create a better future. I know now not to start civil wars between entities that could undo all of existence ever again."

Uncrossing her arms, the former Councilwoman turns her free palm upwards. In a rare show of her abilities she lets him see the air thicken around her hand until it becomes a mist centered only on her palm, like a piece of dry ice melting in reverse. The whole moment takes only a few seconds and when the mist fades out of view again, the earring Caliga gave her rests in her hand. "It should be learned from, you say? What about 'bridging the former Twisted with the current one'?" She closes her upturned hand into a fist and when she opens it again a few new trails of mist vanish into the air and the earring is gone. She looks down at her hand and frowns, "...I still don't know where things come and go from when I do that."

"Well. Let's be honest here Miss Dark." Caliga forces a smile as he grips the rod tightly, obviously doing his best to keep himself composed as her words did strike a bit of a nerve. "I've said a lot of things. I've been selfish, arrogant, and a good number of words that I'm certain other people have used to describe me. With that one... I believe I was right to have told you that. Twisted is still here. It continues."

An eyebrow is quirked at Nancy however once she states she has no idea where her abilities pull from and send things. "...So for all you know you could be sending things to an underdeveloped world, causing mass hysteria as things come and go?" There is a bit of a teasing tone as Caliga says this. "Have you ever thought about trying to learn more about your abilities and where they come from?"

The girl shakes her head slowly at the suggestion. "The whole time I was imprisoned I could pull things in with me, but never leave and never send anything away." She forces a weak smile, "The very first thing I tried to do when I realized my powers where developing was to try and run away to this beach." She gestures at the area around them. "West Beach." She frowns harshly, "I pulled the entire beach in with me. Imagine a white nothingness that goes on forever and suddenly there's a beach. A whole beach. Water and everything." She motions towards the lake with her can before taking a sip from it. "It became an island. An island with people on it." Her eyes water slightly, "So bad enough I pulled these people into a prison with me they could never return from, but I possibly took an entire bay with me." She tries her best not to cry but the tears start to flow anyways, "Do you know how long it took for those people to die? I tried to take care of them. I tried to feed them and give them everything they wanted...." Her words pause as she wipes away some tears with her free hand. "...It was decades before I dared to try that again. Decades of standing on this pier wishing for company after the last of them had sworn at me with their dying breaths." The words hang in the air a moment before she adds, "That's my answer to your question." Maybe it's best to leave it at that?

As Nancy Dark speaks of the first real understanding of her abilities, Caliga listens. At least here, he does have an understanding. He understands the pain she feels here. Once she finishes speaking, the man does something most wouldn't ever expect from him. He stands up and moves to wrap his arms around the young woman. He knows it'll catch her off guard, and at least he'll have done something nice for her.

Pulling away now from Nancy, there's a slight look of concern as the wheels in the back of his head start to click things in place. "Miss Dark... tell me more about this beach. What was the sky like? The water itself, was it crystal clear and just the perfect temperature?"

Nancy shrugs, "Everything was white before I pulled in the beach. The skies eventually seemed to gain color the more I brought in with me." She looks at the water with her silver eyes and sighs, "The water was never clear. It's ocean water. But sometimes..." Her voice lowers as she thinks back, "...sometimes it would sit as still as a mirror. Th-the more I brought in, the more wind there was, and that's what would make the water seem more natural." It takes a bit, but she eventually snaps out of her nostalgia to look at him with a raised brow, "It was a prison. A cell. I've read about why water moves and where clouds come from. There was no sun. There was no..." Her eyes narrow as she tries to recall the word, "jer-ay-vot-ee," she means gravity, of course, "from the Moon to pull the waves." The girl makes a dissatisfied "Hmph." Finally she finishes her soda and the can vanishes away in another cloud of mist. "I'm not stupid. No matter what people say about me."

"I believe you mean gravity, but yes. You are right about how waves are made." The beach itself though worries him. Raising the rod once more, Caliga draws now from his own memories, causing the screen of light to show the beach from his own adventures. "Tell me Miss Dark.. did your beach happen to look like this one?"

At first it might not seem like she's paying attention as Nancy stares at her dress and tries to pull it down lower, but eventually she'll look up without any humor in her eyes and answer, "It -is- this one." She puts both hands on her knees and lets out a sigh. "You didn't notice it showed up the moment I got released along with the cemetery?" She forces a slight chuckle, "I couldn't really tell anyone I did it, but I wasn't about to leave all this behind. Not for how many people lost their lives because of me." Her eyes are starting to water again, but she's doing a better job of controlling it. "This is my memorial to them. I'll take care of it until I-" Abruptly she cuts herself off and looks down at her diminished body. "...until whatever happens to me."

There's a shake of Caliga's head as he keeps his thoughts to himself for the time being. His left hand does reach over, gently patting the girl's head as she tries to keep herself composed. "No, I didn't notice. I had assumed that it was just Twisted being Twisted. Now that I know otherwise... I'm impressed by your dedication Miss Dark. I knew you were serious about things, but I didn't know it was to this degree..."

Nancy gives a weak smile at that, "At least the view here is more interesting than it was in my cell." She turns her hands up and stares at them and the youthful lack of wrinkles on them, "I looked older when I went in. Seth and I are twins." She adds with a bit of forced prideful humor, "I'm the older twin." She lets out a sigh and grabs ahold of her knees again. "At first I thought I must have been losing my mind because I knew time was passing but I never got older. It took... about half the cemetery before I realized that I was getting younger. I blamed my powers at first, of course. Tried to stop using them again." She bites her lip as she pauses again. "By the time I realized it was being around other people, I stopped caring about it. It was better to end the loneliness than be the same age forever." She lets out a heavy sigh. She's not used to talking about herself this much and the emotions are difficult for her to process. "Seeing Seth come out looking older than when I was put in wasn't easy. I don't think he even noticed that I got younger still when I saved him." Another tear escapes down her chin. "He still doesn't know I'm his sister. I don't think I can ever tell him."

Caliga stares at Nancy for what seems to be a few minutes. Even as she speaks, he says nothing. He doesn't interrupt. He doesn't show any reaction, yet it's obvious that the gears in the back of his head are moving in full force. Finally, the man does speak, this time with a bit of familiarity behind it. "Nancy. I think.. there might be a way to help you. This however, will depend upon if you really.. want this. The Planet Chronos.. might be where you want to start. I'm not sure, but.. there are brief memories of the Maniac's that make me believe this will at least get you on the path of stopping this.."

The girl just blinks quietly at his words, "Help what?" Her last thoughts where of her brother and it takes her a moment to piece it together. "Oh." She stares at the water for a long, quiet moment, and then looks down at herself. "Okay. How do we do that?" Yeah, she's more than ready to do this and leave right this second. Hopefully Caliga wasn't planning to do anything else today.

"I'm... not sure I will be able to go with you Nancy. I can take you as far as I am capable of.. but. You will need the aid of that world's saviours if you're to find your way to who I believe could be the one to aid you. It.. is going to be highly dangerous." The look of concern still rests upon Caliga's face, and the obvious tightening of facial muscles does show how worried this makes him. Especially concerning the things that reside within that world, and just how catastrophic things could become.

A hand is extended towards Nancy as the hood of Caliga's cloak rises on its own, once more covering his head from view."For now Miss Dark, we go and get lunch. It will take me time to trace this path down, but.. Beware. This could end up destroying more then just you. It could just destroy everything."

A brief smile appears from within the cloak, almost predatory in its own way. The rod suddenly grows until it is a large staff, and the smile grows wider. "However, only time can tell."
