It's the S-Mart! Where you can find just about ANYTHING available for sale! And today, Rayne is hunting down a specific item, an item that will help her with her forced vacation. Oh, she still looks exhausted. She still looks like she could quite possibly cry at a moments notice. She's being silent, not greeting anyone... then again, there's no one she's passing so far that she personally knows, so why would she? So she simply is making her way to the hair care aisle, leaning heavily onto the handle of her shopping cart.

SilverSight wanders his way into the marketplace in search of simple foods that can be stored in the safety of the Library whenever he need something to snack on. He doesn't have a fridge in there though, so they have to be non-perishable. The pony looks decidedly.. unusual compared to how he normally appears though. It looks like Silver has been hitting steroids or something and looks huge! He's very muscular and is making sure to walk carefully through the isles, levitating a basket along with him.

Vergil Madox is of course bonded with the pony, giving the rather unnaturally buff look. able to speak into silver's mind. "So crumbly food gets crumbs in the carpet and more moist things like apples can drip on the book, we need somthing thats a good middle ground. you are an herbivore correct?" he asks to make sure. he means normally, bonded like this he could eat anything they wanted.

Rayne walks right past the isle that Silver is in, then backs up and looks again. What the? She's fairly certain this is the same pony that she's seen a number of times in the Usual and out and about elsewhere, but he looks completely jacked now. The rainbow-haired woman raises an eyebrow as she looks, now wondering just how out of it she's been.

SilverSight responds back to Vergil mentally to no look like a crazy pony chatting to himself, <Well primarily yes, but I am capable of eating small amounts of meat as well. You can't always be too picky in the Wasteland, so food is sometimes whatever you-> Conversation is broken off when he sees the police captain staring at him. Granted a number of people have stopped and stared along his way, but this one he knows! A careful hoof wave is given, "Hello! Haven't seen you around in a bit, Rayne. How are you?"

Vergil Madox is silent as to let silver focus. "If you need me to move I can." he quickly states as he makes sure to note this new person, Rayne, rainbow-haired female human, most normal thing he's seen yet!

Rayne blinks and suddenly realizes she was staring. "Oh! Uh... been better. And... I've, uh, been busy. It's why you haven't seen me in a while. I think." Did she just hear another voice come from Silver? Maybe he was on the phone. Or whatever he called that phone-like device.

Vergil Madox apologizes, "excuse me for a second." the pony's near hulk like muscle dissipates as a puddle of orange goo slides out from underhoof and reforms into a human, full color of course, black hair, pale complexion, brown eyes and a voice with an unmistakable British tonal. Shorts and a T-shirt on a lithe 5'9" form. "Greetings and salutations, Sorry for the unusual show, Virgil Madox at your service." he says extending a hand.

Rayne actually jumps back as the muscle detaches, then warily looks as the blob becomes human. Visually, at least. She looks down even more warily at the extended hand and, for the thousandth time, wonders why so many people want to have that kind of close physical contact the first time they meet here. No, she doesn't take it, instead offering a kind of informal salute. "Uhhh... hi. Rayne Hurris. Don't take it personally." The last is said with a look again at Vergil's hand.

Vergil Madox does not seem to take it poorly, in fact as soon as he sees the salute there is a quick one of his own. "None taken. Ms Hurris. a pleasure to meet you. I'm relatively new, about a month or so in. give or take." he does know, exactly how long he's been here down to the second but no one other than him cares about the specifics that much. "Good to see a human again, one of only two so far."

SilverSight wiggles and nickers when Vergil detaches from him and he gives a small cough, setting his basket down for the moment to reorient himself in his regular body, "Always feels weird when he gets out like that.."

Rayne blinks in confusion. "How have you missed all the... hundreds of human citizens?" If she were actually fully human, she might have assumed he meant mundane humans. She'd not put it past Twisted to put that many people that only /look/ human in the city. Maybe he meant actually meeting and talking to?

Vergil Madox looks to silver "sorry, its the best I can do." he says "I'm still striving for better but until I figure it out." he says before turning back to rayne. "I may have had meetings with lions and spent many many nights in the library reading. I've gone through about an 8th of his collection by this point." he states. "I am sure there are more out there, I come from a place where humans are the majority of the population so its what I know. you're somewhat like a good look back at home, save for the hair but it looks good." he says.

SilverSight reaches a hoof up to give Vergil a gentle nudge, "This guy himself is a bit of a shapeshifter. He normally looks like a blob of orange goo. He's capable of bonding his mass with another person's body and reshaping them in various ways. It's how he gets his sustenance, instead of eating food or the like.

Rayne asks, "'His'?" before glancing upward. "It's actually a sign I'm not fully human," she says of her hair, then glances behind her. Nope, just so happens there's no other customers in sight. "I'd say humans, or at least mostly human-looking people, are still a majority here. Not by much, but..." She tilts her head slightly, then nods at what Silver says. She more or less saw that for herself, though the mention of it being how Vergil gets his sustenance gets another blink of surprise from her.

Vergil Madox holds up a single finger. "not completely true, I can eat like anyone else, however that makes me gain mass and then I can't be a convincing human. how many 300 pound humans have you seen, not many." he states. "I am what one calls a symbiote. I work with a person's body, if silver and you were willing I could bond with him and show off a minor amount." he says. "otherwise you've seen a bit of what I can do just from when you saw him just earlier."

SilverSight chuckles softly and nods, "Yeah, he can change his mass into seemingly any kind of body part attached to me. I can have huge muscles, giant hooves, who knows what else."

Rayne decides not to comment on how many 300 pound humans she's seen, though her quick side glance with narrowed eyes at that mention suggests it might not be as low as Vergil is thinking. "I don't see why you'd need my permission. But yeah, I've gotten a bit of a jist. I think." She looks back to Silver and stares for a split second as she thinks of some other things, then quickly shakes her head to get that image out of her head. "Right. Who knows? It'd suck to have three hundred pounds of extra weight, though, wouldn't it?"

Vergil Madox notes "considering I can increase muscle mass, and overall body proportions it could feel natural or even more likely it could make things easier," he says. "It is not my first time modifying body mass." he states. "anything you want to try as to show off silver?"

SilverSight shakes his head, "Well I don't have anything specific in mind, though I may have to suggest that showing such things off here in the middle of the store might be a bad idea. We wouldn't want to scare off the other customers or anything."

Rayne raises an eyebrow slightly, then shrugs. "Well, you know you better than I do." She glances at SilverSight, then opens her mouth... but whatever it was she was going to say is lost. Or rather, she changes her mind. She was very close to going back into 'Chief of Police' mode with not wanting to scare other customers, but no. Not on the job. Doctor's orders. "Eh. I've got a decent imagination. Unless you really do just want to show off for some reason." She's also in no rush. The store is 24 hours, after all.

Vergil Madox shrugs. "you are likely right." he says. "I am always open for questions, I believe in free exchange of information." he states. "I won't pry into your life as I can simply tell you're blood sugar is low, your sleep quotient is lacking and your stress hormones are high enough that any canine could smell it from across the store."

SilverSight blinkblinks at Vergil for that one, "I was unaware that you could tell that kind of information about people." Another light nudge to Vergil, "Also it might be considered rude to just say that kind of stuff out loud."

Rayne shrugs. She's been in Twisted long enough that she pretty much just rolls with anything about people. "Low blood sugar? Maybe I should get some chocolate while I'm here." There is not even a remote attempt to deny anything about the sleep quotient or stress hormones. She's read the papers. Her... incident isn't exactly a secret, so she doesn't seem as off-put as Silver seems to think she might have been. The rainbow-haired woman glances to the side, towards the hair care aisle. Her answer to not being that public figure for the duration of her exile... no, 'vacation' is there.

Vergil Madox notes. "mostly humans, spent enough time where there are visible signs of some things like sleep." he says. he won't tell her what to eat though, not his prerogative." his hair shifts, the short hair with soft spikes seems to shift to a similar rainbow patern as Rayne. "feel slightly more at home I hope?"

SilverSight shakes his head with a smile and looks around the aisle they're in to see about getting what he came for himself. Simple snacks for the pantry. He'll have to see about acquiring something to cook and store food with too. Microwave, little fridge, etc. The library currently lacks such things.

Rayne watches the hair color change and frowns. "...Not... really? I'm the only one with my hair pattern that I've met." She pauses, then corrects herself with, "Well, until I came here. Other phoenixes have completely different hair." Truth be told, she just feels patronized.

Vergil Madox sighs. "my apologies, I am still getting used to whether or not attempting to look like one of someone from their plane of existence is a good idea." he states. I am sorry if I have offended." he says reverting it to the midnight black he had it.

SilverSight soon has a moderately full basket of goodies, "Perhaps you should read up some books on etiquette and the like next? Maybe some self-help books on social graces."

Rayne shakes her head. "I'm unusual in my home universe, too. Phoenixes are... extremely rare to begin with." It sounds like she's not really offended. She glances at Silver and wonders if she should look up those books herself. No, no, she'll always be this awkward. At least in the foreseeable future. Maybe one day she'll be back to her... decades ago self.

Vergil Madox wonders "phoenix, like the bird of myth, able to rise from their own ashes?" he asks. "or is it more of a metaphorical or symbolic thing?" he asks. he's glad to not have offended, that is never his intention, if it was it would be much more obvious.

SilverSight is a pony from a world of ponies (among other critters, including rare phoenixes). So he's pretty common back there. "I don't think I would want to test such a theory on phoenix rebirth myself. Could be hazardous to one's health."

Rayne shrugs. "No, you pretty much got it on the first." She looks to Silver a moment and says, "Yeah, best not done indoors. A lot of fire is involved." She glances to the side again. "I should probably get moving, though. It was nice meeting you, uh, Vergil was it? Good seeing you again, Silver." Ponies seem to have easier names to remember.

Vergil Madox nods "yes, Virgil, maybe we will see each other again." he nods. "ready to get back to work Silver?"

SilverSight nods to the female humanoid, "Have a good day, Rayne. Get some rest when you can." Then a nod back to Vergil, "Yup. There's still plenty of food to get while we're here."
