Manufactured by Medical Mechanica, the Joan series of CES (Cost Effective Synths) are the lowest tier of synthetic advanced lifeforms created by the company. Originally designed as nothing more than an interactive catalogue for MM's patented Micro-Universal Storage System™ , the Joan series was repurposed as a short-term messenger synth due to the quickly deteriorating nature of its sanity matrix.
NOTE: This deterioration was caused by conflicting personality defects and has been rectified in future synth series.
Printed as needed, the Joan series [ NOTE: She prefers to be called Monika. Ĵ̼͈ͭ̽̀̓͆͡Ù̺̟̣̣̳̘͐͐̈̈́̉̏S̼̎ͦ̈͐̚Ť͕̝̞͑ ͕͉̙̅̉M̷O͎̠͓̟̱̯̼̾̅͗ͯ͐̂N̰ͫ͊I̭͌̉͛ͩ̔K̳͙̠̥ͥA̮̺̫̦͆̑̏ ] is imprinted with the identity of its intended target upon activation and thusly is bound to that target until it's programing is completed. Under normal operating parameters no harm has come to the target and instructions have been carried out with a 98.4%* success rate without human casualties.

Monika can generate a small demo-version of the Micro-Universal Storage System™ around an intended target. This generally occurs with a shimmering of static as the occupant's reality is replaced with the newly generated one. Once inside this pocket, all aspects of reality are under her control. However, while the target is no longer on the same plane of reality, externally the synth still is - leaving her completely vulnerable to external damage. She has no means of defending herself in this state and can quickly and easily be dispatched with minimal effort. Doing so will release the target in her care completely unharmed (assuming of course they were unharmed inside her pocket of reality).

The Joan series synths are not just imprinted with a target's identity. They are obsessively attracted to them. They claim to love the target with such a deep and unending attraction that they will literally stop at nothing to seek and detain them even if it means going to extremes such as terminating the lives of anyone or anything which stands in their way. This obsession is directly related to the current lifespan and sanity of the synth and can quickly get out of hand if it is not allowed to complete its objectives.
After fulfillment of its directives, the Joan series will self-terminate, leaving no physical remains of itself in its wake.
