NPC: Sift
One of Luna's 1,000 wives, Sift is a dark fairy. Unlike most of Luna's wives, Sift sought out Cale Charis, knowing he could give her what she wanted, but could never have, a daughter.
On Sift's homeworld of Garaghan, magical creatures are unable to bear children. Rather, the creatures are made naturally through the bindings of magic in the ether. As such, connections between people are distant, cold, and selfish. Sift fought against her own world, and sought other dimensions, eventually coming to see the love that a family can hold, especially that of a mother and daughter.
Through chance, or perhaps fate, on one world she heard of a great and wicked being who would take your soul in exchange for riches. Sift sought the being out, which was of course Cale Charis. After a long contract negotiation, Sift gave her soul to him, in exchange receiving the ability to give birth.
She was granted ten years before she had to come back to Cale, and in that time she raised a beautiful daughter. Leaving her to explore the worlds and dimensions herself, Sift returned to Cale, grateful beyond words for his gift to her.
She studied under him, learning more of magic and falling deeply in love. Alas, eventually Cale grew bored of her as he did all his wives, and she was left in the long never ending hallway, until Caliga brought her and all the other wives to a new home.
Working with Corinasia, Sift escaped, seeking to find Cale, knowing that while he may have died, he'd have been reborn on Lunar. Following Nancy and Gegoshi in their quest for Guarlesia, she sacrificed her own soul in order to restore Cale's mind and memories into the body of Luna.
She now lays comatose in the Akira Institute.
