Up in the sky, above the park, what appears like a portal opens like a tear in the sky, a cylinder which fades to nothing on one side, and flares out like a trumpet on the other with strange bolts of energy seeming to flow out from it in all directions along this curve. After a few seconds, a slender blue and white figure with long aqua colored hair is tossed roughly out of the portal and lands in the lake with a large splash, causing the ducks to squawk in surprise and fly away.

Moments later, as the ripples upon the lake begin to calm, the surface is broken once again by the creature that fell in just moments ago, her head and most of her torso rising above the water. With the hair, the frilly ruffled fins, and the tiara-like arrangement on her head which looked like three pearls and another fin against her hair with a pair of pink starfish along the sides, this newcomer to town looks like a very fancy white sealion, and that's without even mentioning the rest of her below the surface.

She blinks and takes a moment to look around. "Where am I? I think I got sucked into one of those ultra wormholes, but from the looks of things, I don't think I'm in Alola anymore..."

This portal tossed a second object out. A youth clad in seemingly stereotypical 'tropical tourist' garb between the tan shorts and neon colored tropical print shirt. he red haired young man looked at where the portal opened out at and tried t ofocus, to will himself to move. Instead all he managed was to flail uncontrolably before landing next to the sealion. He bobbed to the surface after a moment and patted his bare head, "My hat!" His voice sounded alarmed. "Where'd my hat g-"

Right hten the portal chose to practically fling said red and white cap at the youth's face along with a scattering of other objects making splashes around them.

Then with a sense of finality it snapped shut. Leaving the pair in this.... Here.

"Well, I'm not sure what that was, but it certantly wasn't a vine." The youth grumped before spotting a metal framed hiking backpack sink below the water.

"You OK Miwa?"

There's a pile of snake at the side of the lake! Deis has chosen to take her nap next to the lake this time, in her true form. Her human half rests on top of her coils as the blue-haired woman snoozes away, soft snoring rising up from her form. There's also a couple bottles next to her, too, and there's a rosy flush on her face. And also, more unpleasantly, a little bit of drool. Yeah. She's drunk.

The chaos in the sky above doesn't seem to bother the clearly drunk and sleeping snake-lady. But the monstrous splashing into the lake does! "GAH!" the snake-woman yelps, and her human torso slides onto the ground. Not to worry, she's still attached to herself. But she's no longer resting on her coils. No, now she's on her back on the ground, with her serpentine tail sort of... looped on its side. "Ow. Geez, what was that?"

After a moment, she rights herself, now resting on her stomach as she looks to the lake. And she notices as something breaks the surface of the lake. It's not anything Deis has ever seen, but at least it appears to be able to talk. And then something else breaks the surface, something more human. "Hoy there!" she calls to the people in the lake. "Are both of you all right?" She might or might not have caught sight of the portal, but whe could tell they came from high up.

Deis finally pushes herself to her... well, coils, and slithers to the side of the lake. She's not getting in just yet; she's more concerned with the people than the belongings.

To say that Miwa is relieved to see Ash come through the strange wormhole after her is an understatement. If you're going to be stuck in a new place, always better to be stuck there with someone you like. She hugs the tenno a moment as he asks if she's alright.

"I'm fine, just stings a little from the rather unceremonious entry into this... lake. I'm certainly glad we didn't land on the ground, and that your backpack didn't land on either of us." She says with a smile, then dives into the lake, going about gathering up everything that fell and tossing them out onto dry land. With that taken care of, she finally greets the snake-woman who seemed to have been taking a nap by the lake before they arrived so noisily.

"Hello, sorry to drop in unannounced but we didn't seem to have much choice in the matter. I'm Miwa. Where exactly is this place if you don't mind me asking?"

Ash Tenou seemed unphased by the snake lady's appearance. Instead as he floated in the water he waved, "Hi, sorry are we on your land?" No warframe, his weapons sinking or in his backpack, and he wasn't sure what was going on with the void. Fighting would be very not ideal.

As Miwa set about gathering their, OK mostly his, things, he swam to shore, moving to where Miwa beached herself. He looked about, unsure where 'here was' and noted the apparent normalcy of everything. He then folded his arms and waited, as Miwa had already asked the relevant questions he hadn't. Best to not overwhelm the locals.

Deis notes the flippers as Miwa dives into the lake, and blinks. "...Maybe some kind of Manillo?" she mutters. "Nah... not nearly ugly enough to be a Manillo. And she's not immediately charging him a finder's fee for his stuff..." Those words of Deis's might or might not be heard, since she spoke them so quietly.

Though yes! She'll try to pull the things the Miwa chucks out a little further away from the water, so they don't slip back in. And she does hear Miwa's words. She waves a hand dismissively. "Not to worry, dear lady. 'Dropping in unannounced' seems the preferred way of getting here. In fact, I think it's the only way of getting here." She chuckles.

At the question, she waves her hand around, to indicate the area. "This, is Nowhereto Park," she offers. "It's a world called 'Twisted', and boy is it aptly named." Though she's quick to assure Ash, "Oh no, this isn't my land. I just fell asleep over there. This is a public park. As far as I know it doesn't actually belong to anybody." She seems to have mostly recovered from whatever drunkenness she seems to have been suffering. At least, enough that her words aren't slurred.

Indeed now that Miwa has joined Ash out on dry land and she can be seen for the glorious mix of sea lion and mermaid that she is. She smiles as the local woman greeted them so kindly and answered her question with more than adequate detail.

"Ah, I see. Thank you for the rather warm welcome. I think perhaps one of the ultra wormholes on my world mixed with one of those vines that links worlds, and brought us somewhere new." She theorizes.

"I'm from the Alolan region of an Earth-like world brimming with Pokemon, of which I am one, a Primarina to be precise. Ash on the other hand... Well, I'll let him explain where he's from."

Ash Tenou gave a of of acknowledgment to Miwa as he gestured to himself, "I'm human.... and not from her world." He took a deep breath as he quickly decided what to and not to include in the up front explainer, "I can do a few things that some might call magic, or chi, or any number of things..." Then he added sourly, "Though it didn't seem to do anything when I was falling."

Louder, "I've been staying with Miwa for the past few months for a... variety of reasons. Any chance that portal will open again on the other end? I've got a..." How to explain... how to- "Friend who was off running personal errands." Shelve that pit in his stomach feeling. Stow it. Can't afford to get bogged down right now.

"And if everyone sorta just... drops in?" He looked from Miwa to the snake lady, "I'm assuming the 'how to get new people up to speed' business is pretty straightforward? We're gonna need a place to stay," Then another meaningful look to Miwa's flippers, "One preferrably near open water."

The pair must have been brought a very far distance indeed, because none of those names Miwa notes are even vaguely familiar to Deis. Perhaps weirdly, not even 'Earth'. And there's no note of recognition in her expression as Miwa says any of this. "Well, you're definitely a long way away from... everything you just said," she comments, with a sage-looking nod. She's not really trying to pretend she knows what any of that is, but... well, what can one say in return to it?

Deis shakes her head, though, at the mention of another portal. "If there's a way out, I haven't found it yet," she notes. "That said, even though I've been here for a while now, I recently took a really long nap, and things had changed quite a bit. So I'm afraid I won't be as useful to you as I might have been a while back."

As for a place to live? "Hmm..." She does indeed look meaningfully at Miwa's flippers. "Yeah, gonna need some water there... bathtub won't do," she comments. "I'm not sure if it still does it, but there used to be an apartment complex called the 'Integra Arms' that has some... unique features. The apartments were able to sort of... conform to what you needed. I think it's the Integra Arms. Not absolutely sure anymore, really." For reasons she'd mentioned.

"OH! Wow, I'm rude in my old age," she comments. A grin, and she offers, "I'm Deis. Sorry -- I forgot that in all the hubbub."

Miwa chuckles at the bathtub idea. "This lake is actually alright, but even it feels a bit like a bathtub when you're used to living just off the coast of a tropical island in the middle of the ocean. I guess we'll have a look for these apartments and see if they're still around and work the same way." She says back with a nod and considers for a moment going over her abilities as Ash did, but decides against it. There would be time to show her stuff later, maybe. For now, she was content to talk.

Then it finally occurs to her that Deis just mentioned she napped so long the whole area changed. "Did you nap for a few years or something?" She asks with a grin. "Nice to meet you though either way. Maybe we can go for a walk or something and see what's new."

Ash Tenou stepped forward, offering Deis his right hand. She might see a silver and black many segmented bracelette ending with a flat disk at the point where his wrist meets the palm of his hand. Then he frowned, pulling his hand away and instead giving her a short bow. "I'm Ash," He paused before remembering going through registration for a trainer ID, "Tenou... just ot keep me seperate from any other Ash that might be floating around, and you've already been a great deal of help and," His eyes flicked to the snake half of Deis, "I've met few nagas of any sort so.... Hm, any idea how they handle money? If there's an exchange rate or money changers." He looked thoughtful then. So many problems, and this 'Integra Arms' seemed to almost be a magical construct to reconfigure in so very specific personal ways.

"Miwa, you've been on the road a heck of a lot more than me without getting to bring your house with you." There was a note of sadness there, something Miwa would pick up on but maybe not Deis. "Any ideas?"

Deis seems to remember something, from Miwa's words of an ocean. "Oh! There's a beach here, I think. The Zeku-Kari beach, I believe it borders an ocean. There's islands out there, but I haven't bothered to go and look at them." And the question of sleeping for years? "Yeah... I do that sometimes," she confirms. "A century or two here and there. Perfectly normal for me. At least it wasn't actually a century this time." She grins.

"Money isn't really a problem, that I know of. I haven't known anyone to have problems," Deis notes to Ash's mention of the money. "It just seems to be something they accept, wherever it's from. So if you have money you can probably use it here somewhere. I don't think it's something you'll need to worry about, thankfully. Though I guess that makes sense, with all the newcomers popping in on a regular basis."

Miwa nods, looking back to Ash for a moment and then to Deis again. "I'll have to check it out I guess, though this apartment you mentioned would probably better suit the both of us combined if it is still as you remember. As for money, I guess what I've been saving from my shows to pay for that grotto upgrade will come in handy now, and no sense keeping it aside for upgrading a home I may not be able to go back to for a while... if ever..." There is a sadness in her voice at putting that realization into words. So much for taking the island challenge. "As for when I was on the road with Kaleo's troupe? We usually stayed in hotels that were booked way in advance, and the suite I shared with him usually had a very large bathtub or jacuzzi. Not sure how that helps us now."

Ash Tenou nodded slowly as he reached over to put a hand around Miwa, gently touching the shoulder opposite where he was standing. "We'll figure something out." His voice was low, contemplative. He looked over at his pack, and the bow and quiver lashed to the back of it. It was a strange bow by any measure, seemingly made of gently pulsing muscle and bone with connective sinews both on the bow itself, and the arrows and the bag the arrows were held in. "Least we're not totally empty handed."

He took a breath, closing his eye, pushing a sudden thought aside even as he squeezed Miwa's shoulder. "We've been in worse spots. Least we've got each other."

Of course there was the matter of everything that wasn't his bag or bow. A food basket, a couple other bags... He looked pointedly to a box Miwa had insisted he not open until they got where they were going and walked over to pick it up.

For a moment he was tempted, but instead of opening it he very firmly placed the box in the picnic basket he'd carried before they got spat out here. Now was not the time for opening mystery gifts.

"There is still the beach," Deis replies to Miwa. "It's not too far from the center of town, if you don't mind a walk." Pause, and she looks to Miwa's flippers. "Er... you know what I mean." Yeah, she's not going to completely reword that for something that could still be understood. "Maybe you guys could get a house there on the beach?" she also suggests. She's not completely blind to their troubles, but... well, there isn't a lot she can do to help them with not being able to get back.

Deis smiles as she looks between the two of them. With her usual loud demeanor, one would think she's start going AWW LOOKIT ISS SO KYOOOT or something. But no, as Ash comforts Miwa, she remains quiet. She understands mourning for a lost world, even if one is the 'lost' one rather than the world being lost. She actually turns a bit, to the lake, respectfully giving them their moment. It's their moment, after all!

"So, what have we here?" comes a voice from nearby. No doubt he slipped up while everyone was talking...he's mostly, it seems, addressing Deis. Hands are shoved into the pockets of the tan trenchcoat (does he HAVE any other clothes) as he regards the goddess with slight amusement.

Miwa smiles and gives Ash a sort of half-hug with one flipper as he tries to comfort her. Indeed at least they had each other. "Right, we'll make the best of it. A house by the beach sounds lovely actually. As for the walking, I can actually walk, kind of, maybe not exactly as you bipeds can, but I manage if we're not out for a marathon hike. For those sorts of trips I have other means of getting around on the surface." She says with a wink and decides to actually do a little demo, forming a small orb of water which floats away from her mouth as she begins to sing, making the sphere of water dance around a bit as she goes through a simple scale while adding a bit of flare as she does it before finally bursting into mist as she hits the high note. Her voice is smooth and pure, ranging from alto to soprano, and with a distinct accent that anyone from her home or Hawaii would immediately recognize. She notices the newcomer while she's singing, and offers a wave of her right flipper in greeting.

Ash Tenou lets Miwa go as she starts singing. Nice as the hug was, he knew what her song meant and he took a long step back to give room for her to do the bubble thing.

Then his attention turned to the newcomer. Part of him was berating himself for being slow to respond. The rest tried stuffing that part in a hole. This wasn't a combat situation, assassins weren't going to suddenly materialize out of the woodwork. Though depending on how Constantine's arcane senses work Ash would look decidedly... Not Normal. Connections going from his body's Chi paths to... Elsewhere, a sort of self contradicting energy that shifted and changed at a whim flowing thorugh his body coiling around his chakra in complex shifting patterns.

"Hello there." Ash gave the newcomer a smile.

Deis turns a bit further, to the source of the new voice, and offers a smile once she sees who it is. "Oh hello there!" she greets. "Newcomers, that's what we have here! Just dropped in. Literally, right into the lake." They might both be 'a trifle moist', still, since they recently took an unscheduled swim!

Also it's worth noting that, from the waist up, Deis is the same woman that John Constantine found in that cave on the outskirts of the city. From the waist down? She's... a snake. Literally. A green serpent's tail grows from her waist, lighter where it nears her human side, darkening to a forest green by the tip of that serpentine tail. This was something she didn't tell him, apparently...

She soon turns back to Miwa, though, as more words are forthcoming from the Primarina. And music, too! The bubble and the mist in time with the music... "Wow!" Deis notes, with a big grin, offering in praise, "You're really good! I guess that's what you meant by 'on the road' -- you're a performer? You might still be able to do that here," she encourages.

John Constantine nods. He glances at the lake. "At least it's not too cold today." He's completely ignoring Deis turning into a lamia. Like it happens all the time. Or like he's just plain unsurprised by it. "Might? I'm betting you'd be quite welcome."

Miwa smiles at the compliments to her singing and nods to the question of being a performer. "Considering the man who raised me from before I even hatched, was the owner of a traveling musical theatre group, you could say I was born into it. You wouldn't know since you aren't familiar with my world, but most Pokemon don't speak in human language. I can speak two, and most of the drive to learn was just so that I could convey more meaning to the audience when I sing. Certainly doesn't hurt for day to day life either when you're living with humans." She explains, then offers thoughtfully.

"I'll have to put on a show sometime. What I just did was just a taste." She grins and winks knowingly to Ash as although he missed her first solo concert, he's certainly seen plenty of what she's capable of.

Ash Tenou beamed with pride at the compliments Miwa were getting. Fine he had nothing to do with her performance as a singer, but it gave him that nice warm fuzzy feeling to see people appreciate the hard work she put into her craft. "That's honestly pretty fantastic news. Telling a singer there's no room for her would be a pretty dreeary thing." He took his 'loud' tropical print shirt, revealing that even if he was of slight build, ash was well muscled as he started wringing it out. there was a pause as he held his left hand out palm up and seemed to focus.

A small flame appeared in his hand, bright cheery red-orange flames. Yet even though it made heat, gave off light, and all those other 'fire' things. It wasn't fire, not in the strictest sense. He smiled, and the flame grew, expanding to fill the palm of his hand. "Well," he then frowned as he looked about, realiing they were not in the parkland they'd gone hiking in this morning. No easy way to tell if fires were allowed.

A sigh before closing his hand, extinguishing the 'flame.' "Void feels a bit sluggish. Might just be how we came through, might just be a property of the place." A helpless shrug as he shook his shirt out. "I'll have to adapt is all."

Deis nods. "Yeah, if it'd been much colder we'd be needing to bundle them both up to avoid them freezing," she comments. Miwa's explanation gets a tilt of her head. "Yeah, I don't think I've ever heard of a... Pokey... mon..?" First time she's ever heard the word, so of course she's going to mangle it a little! "But yeah, I'm sure, with your talent, you'd be able to find a following here."

Her attention is rather immediately attracted to the 'flame' in Ash's hand. "Well, well! Fellow mage?" she inquires, of that flame. She's not sure what 'void' is, at least in this sense, but she could probably tell it wasn't 'fire' as she knew it. Though it's not her place to reveal, so she doesn't.

"I've heard of all kinds of things, and seen things I haven't heard of." He then glances at the flame. Pursing his lips, he mutters something under his breath. Magic...or something else?

Ash Tenou shook his head at Deis's question, "Sorta, but not really? More I channel energy through myself and can do a few odds and ends." He then gestured to Miwa, "Honestly what she can do is more interesting to me. Then again I'm only at best self taught since 'drawing power from a whole universe made of madness and energy' seems to be surprisingly uncommon." A helpless shrug. "Seems to have more in common with martial arts energy channeling and enhancing their bodies than spell words and pact magics." He then gave Deis a helpless shrug, "No offense meant."

He then gave his shirt another shake before putting it back on. "Starting to be grateful I packed your wet suit Miwa. Sure they'll have people that can do the work, but... Doesn't hurt that I think it looks good on you." He gave the Primarina a sidelong look.

Miwa chuckles a bit at the mention of bundling up for the cold, but that could really be a concern as she's quite used to the tropical climate she hails from. She smiles as he mentions that he packed the suit he had made for her to better deal with the cold. "Ah good, I was worried we might have lost that back home, I packed rather light." She says as she indicates the drawstring bag she has slung over one shoulder. "It does look good though I agree, your sense of fashion is pretty good I must say."

Deis's brows raise at the description of Ash's abilities. "Well, yeah," she admits. "That's not something I've heard of before." Pause. "Actually no, I've heard that before, but it was my sister's faithful and their idiotic religious rhetoric, talking about the dragons of my world being evil, hellish monsters whose power came from..." She waves a hand dismissively. "Something like that. It was a lie regardless."

John Constantine shakes his head. "Dragons and demons are *not* the same thing." Of course, not everyone knows that. "I'd better get going...will you be alright?" That last is addressed to the two newcomers.

Miwa takes a moment to ponder, then shrugs a bit. "I'm not sure where my powers come from, other than a feeling that at least some of it must be drawn from something inside me. It's not something I've done extensive looking into, but considering Alola's own Professor Kukui specializes in the study of Pokemon attacks, if there was some revelation in how they work I probably would have heard about it."

She then turns to John as he asks about their wellbeing and nods. "I think we'll be fine. We can find a place for the night, even if it's camping on the beach. I'm not a fish thankfully so a bit of time on land won't kill me."

Ash Tenou waved a hand dismissively, "I mean I've been called a demon before, but the people doing the calling were..." There was a pause as he considered the audience, "sociopathic self aggrandizing monsters...." There was a light laugh as he again gestured to Miwa, "Landed on Alolah when my ship hit some kind of weird storm. It's an odd friendship, but she's been good for me."

He gave Constantine a thumbsup, "Not the first time I've landed in an odd world... Will be the first time I haven't had all my stuff on hand but i'm pretty sure we'll manage. Thanks for the concern."

He inhaled deeply as he shouldered his backpack and frowned. "Where's my..." He then took two paces and picked up a plain sheathed katana and slid it through a loop on the side of the pack. then he looked to Miwa and nodded. "Worst case I've got a tent we can set up. Doubt it'll come to that, but... at least we won't have to deal with buzzswole?" He's seen the freakishly muscular mosquito pokemon Alolah had, and had zero desire to have any part of them save perhaps introducing them to the business end of a flamethrower.

Deis smiles at Constantine. "Good to see you again~," she sing-songs. "Even better that you got to see me as I really am. I just didn't think it was proper to change in front of you, you know? Not on such short acquaintance~." She grins. "But take care."

"Maybe you can 'just do them'?" Deis suggests to Miwa. "Sometimes that happens, we can 'just do' things. Some people 'just can' sing. Some people 'just can' make art of some kind. And some people have to work really hard to learn. It's not really fair sometimes, but that's the way it goes." She smiles. "There's a place in the city... I think it's called the 'welcome center'. You might get some information there."

She nods to Ash's words. "Are you sure? I'm not sure I can do more than offer a bit of food... But, well. Secrets are meant to be discovered on one's own, not merely given to one... if that makes sense. It's a little bit outside of my portfolio to be able to just reveal secrets."

Miwa thinks about what Deis says for a moment, then nods. "Makes sense. Lots of Pokemon can do different things, but many can do things others can't. Some can breath blasts of fire, or create earthquakes and rockslides, or strike with powerful bolts of electricity. I can create anything from bubbles to blasting torrents of water, and control them with my voice, and also strange energy blasts from the fairy half of my typing."

Ash Tenou shrugs at Deis's offer, "I'd like to think we'll manage. As for me?" He gave the snake lady a more critical look. he didn't know she was a Goddess. He just took her from being very old and having been here awhile. "As far as I'm aware there is no pressing need to lear nfaster. Hopefully that isn't going to change soon."

Then a look about as he frowned, "Though I would like directions out of here. Figuring out where they send new arrivals would be good."

Deis grins at Miwa's account of the Pokemon. "Those sound like singularly impressive creatures," she notes. "You too! That sounds like some impressive stuff. Elemental creatures, then?"

Ash is asking for instructions, and Deis nods. "If you stay on this road," she points, "you'll come to a fountain. There should be a police station nearby, head that way. Go into the courthouse, and the welcome center should be there on the first floor of the courthouse." She'd had to poke into there herself, because she'd been gone so long!

Miwa nods. "Yes, impressive is a good word for it, though not all fall into typical elements. There are over one thousand known species, and each is classified under one or two of eighteen different typings. I am water and fairy. Some notable exceptions to standard elements are ghost, dark, poison, and steel, to name a few. I'd be happy to show you more of what I can do another time. For now I think it's better that Ash and I find a place to spend the night. It's late."

Ash Tenou grinned as he checked the picnic basket and frowned. "Think maybe the sushi's still good, but the Malasadas are all kinds of ruined." His head drooped and expression wilted before he started making faux kazoo noises to the tune of 'taps.' then a theatrical sniffle, "We hardly got to know ya lad... You could've been good, maybe even the best."

Then his expression immediately cheered as he held up a large jar of noodles with a smaller jar containing sauce and additives. "Noodles survived! So yea. We at least are still on for lunch." The jar of noodles was put back. "Drinks look good," He reached in and poked at something, frowned, then nodded before pulling his hand away and closing the basket. "Fresh fruit's good, Might need rinsing. Really annoyed at the Malasadas." He looked to Deis, "Alolah'an pastery, Almost impossible to eat without some mess, but so very wort hit."

He squared his pack then looked to where Deis said the road would be and smiled. "Well, nothing for it then. Shall we love?" Perhaps mroe important than the food was the box Miwa had insisted they take. But that would be a matter for another time.

Deis nods to Miwa's promise. "I'll hold you to that," she notes, pointing at Miwa with a grin. "No dueling though, don't worry. I'm too old to care much about who's stronger than who anymore. That system seems pretty complicated though. I'll have to tell you about this one little dragon I knew -- coincidentally he also had blue hair."

At the fake kazoo to taps, Deis giggles, and then salutes with her right hand. Hearing Ash's description, "Ah, that sucks. Pastry is always a sad loss. Farewell, sweet little delectable things!" Pulling her hand down again, "That said, there's a handful of stores you might be able to get something to replace it from." She waves. "Take care, you two lovebirds~!" Pause. "Er... love... fish? No, that doesn't work either. Well, either way, take care!"

Miwa nods to Deis and smiles. "A little performance and a story? Sounds like a good trade." She offers as she returns the wave. "Glad we got the chance to meet you and didn't ruin your nap at a bad time. Looking forward to seeing you around soon, till then take care!" She replies as she then heads off with Ash.
